An excellent book to teach children how to save. They will be entertained by the gross and hilarious activities in the book while learning valuable lessons on managing money. The book has beautiful graphics and a compelling storyline. I reviewed this book on my Investing website. To see the review:

After his cousin Trap persuades Geronimo Stilton to purchase several birthday presents for him, the newspaper editor discovers that he is broke. His relatives decide that he needs a lesson in frugality, and boy, does he get one, discovering along the way that there is a fine line between frugality and stinginess. The story, accompanied by vividly colored cartoon panels, is engaging enough on its own merits, but with the word play involving the use of the word "mouse" and mice-friendly terms such as "pawchair" instead of "armchair," it's hard to resist the humor and messages from this one, part of a popular series. Even the character's name with its reference to a type of cheese provides delights for savvy readers. Reading this one guarantees great fun for anyone interested in savoring life and sharing what one has with others.

Geronimo empties his bank account by allowing Trap to choose his own birthday presents, taking his friends out to an expensive restaurant, and investing in a friend's business. His worried grandfather sends him to Moldy Manor to receive a crash course in saving from his Uncle Stingysnout. Can Geronimo pass his final exam and become a true misermouse?

Like the others in the series, the story, text, and illustrations in Welcome to Moldy Manor are woven together seamlessly to create a very funny book. The story contains a good lesson about the balance between stinginess and (generously) overspending without overtly teaching the reader.

I had start to read this kind of book to improve my English and I have to admit that I learned so much ordinary words. Funny and full of strange ideas, I read this book in a blanck of eye and I enjoyed it. However the greatest lesson of this book is that it is more important to share with people that we love but with attention

"I can't pretend to be stingy. I like to share what I have with my friends, and now that I have less, it just means that I will have less to share."

We are delighted you've read "Welcome to Moldy Manor" by Geronimo Stilton. The book teaches us not to judge a book by its cover, or in this case, a manor by its moldiness! You've learned that appearances can be deceptive, and it's important to explore and understand something or someone before making a judgment.

Always give people and situations a chance, even if they aren't appealing. Sometimes, unexpected places or people can offer us the most valuable experiences.

Love,
Dad & Mom

My class enjoyed listening to this story. It focused around saving money by being "stingy." My kids found it very amusing.

I brought this for my nieces. The story provides good lessons to kids on the importance of saying no , all Geronimo had to do was say no to his cousin and he could have escaped all the troubles.
