I admit that I found this book difficult to read. It is highly academic and as I read it I had to use other sources to help me understand what Radmacher was saying. The difficulty came from unfamiliar vernacular as well as my lack of familiarity with church history.

Despite these challenges, there are few books that deal so thoroughly with a theology of the church. There are a lot of book about the church today that make sweeping generalizations and assumptions about the use of the word ecclesia in the Bible. Rademacher's work brings clarity to the biblical use of the word and corrects the errors that have risen from men who fail to do diligence and rightly divide the biblical doctrine of ecclesiology.

Useful for understanding a traditional dispensational view of the church., including the strengths and weaknesses of this view's presuppositions and methodological underpinnings.
