It's an interesting book with the basic info on running styles, injuries, schedules, nutrition, and other topics. It's a good broad spectrum solution for knowing more about running for different purposes.

This book is an encyclopedia. The graphics are so much in detail when describing muscles, bones and body structures. Perhaps too much detail and too many technical anatomy terms I have to skip through some of them. The most useful part I found in this book are the pictures for stretching and training poses.

Overall a good book. Gives information about programming, the biomechanics of running and common injuries. I do feel that some of the information was a bit outdated. I will give the programming a try and see how it works out.

My first half marathon is in 2 and 1/2 weeks. I really knew nothing about running, training, and all that, so I picked this up from the library to glean knowledge from. I learned a lot from it. It was very helpful for a beginner.

Noderīga grāmata skrējējiem, kurā tiek izskaidrotas pamata lietas skriešanas uzsākšanā, gatavojoties sacensībām un atjaunojoties.

The running bible I revisit in times of need (= when I burn out and need to remind myself that variety is good and planning is better).

Some great tips and practical info in here. Some of the info is getting a little outdated, since it was published in 2014, but overall it's worth reading for anyone training for long runs.

Less than 2 pages on "increasing your speed" was a bit of a let down. Over all a good, almost coffee table Dorling Kindersley book for those who are willing to invest time money and effort into running.
