Another of the Carsons of Lone Rock series, in which oldest brother, Buck Carson, comes home to Lone Rock to make amends 20 years after the deaths of three of his high school buddies. One of them is the brother of Marigold, who blamed him for her brother's death, even though he wasn't in the car that crashed that fateful night.

Then both are surprised to discover that his oldest newly adopted son is dating Marigold's daughter. In fact, she finds them together in Lily's bed! Ack! Not what a mother who got pregnant at age 16 herself ever wanted to find. What's going to happen now?

It isn't just the kids who are attracted to each other. Buck can't understand it, but Marigold has captured his heart. But will he admit it? And what are they going to do about their feelings when it's the nascent relationship between their teens children that worries them the most?

So glad to finally get Buck's story. He has been the one that has always been in the background. We knew he existed but didn't know where he was.

In this book he finally comes home to his family with a family of his own.

The first meeting back up with is family goes pretty much like he thought it would.

See he still feels guilty for what happened when he was 18. He carries that guilt like a chain around his neck.

Who shows up at his door not long after he is home with his son but a blast from his life that made him leave in the first place.

You would think they both still hate each other but oh no..What a wonderful read and surprise!

Also there is a book in this with the daughter of the woman and one of his sons..

A wonderful read..I loved every minute.

s usual this author did not disappoint. I loved this story, and I was glad to see the finish of it with the story of the two kids reconnecting after college. Happy endings are still something we all need to find during those times we are struggling to cope. It gives us hope just like the book says.

I loved this book. Buck's and Marigold passed broke my heart. It was a sweet, sassy and sexy read. Lots of humour too.
And the bonus with Lily and Colton was just the way to finish up the family history.

I absolutely loved both stories in this book and I liked how they intersected with each other. Both stories were heartwarming.
