romance fail; returned

I love a lot of this authors books, but this one was a romance fail for me!

The heroine gave her body and innocence to OM, forever severing a primal and irreplaceable bond between her and the hero. Now, whenever she remembers her first time—which we never forget—it’ll be the face of another man over her, grunting and heaving and sliming away on top of her. Ughhhh, soooo gross.

Theres no swoon when the heroine has spread her legs and let another man crawl between them to break her in, to forever lay a claim to her that no other man will ever have.

Life is too damn short for failed romances where the heroine has given herself and her trust and her vulnerability and her sexual awakening to a loser, so back it goes for a refund.

I freaking loved this story❤️❤️
Evie cares for her two little brothers since she was 15. She lived with her ex until he threatened her and her brothers. Now they moved to Courage County where she found a job at a doctor's office. Greer meets Evie and is instantly obsessed with her, he instantly knows she will be his wife and the mother of his children. When he finds out how these three lived this far he vowed to cherish and love them forever. Instalove, age gap, sweet, steamy, romantic and safe with an awesome HEA 😍😍😍😍😍 I loved how understanding and loving Greer was towards the two little boys❤️❤️ A definite must read👍🏻👍🏻

Evie, very young herself (19) is a devoted sister and took on the responsibilty of raising her two younger brothers. Her move to Courage County was the best that could have happened to her. Here the people take care of each other. She is able to get a job to provide the necessary means and there she meets Greer. As soon as the big cowboy lays eyes on Evie, he knows she is the woman he wants to marry. He is not shy to declare his feelings to Evie and is willing to show his determanition, including her brothers.
Short, sweet and steamy romance, just what I want to read to forget reality for a while.

This is a well written book with a cast of strong characters centering on Evie and Greer. It's a sweet love story with Greer convincing Evie they are a match. The author moves the story fluidly with her descriptive scenes and delivers a terrific read.

He is so over the top bossy, caring, hunky, demanding, and drool-worthy on every level. Evie tries to resist as she has had a hard life with no one in her corner. Can she let her walls down? Can Greer prove to her he is all in?? Yes, he can! And he shows up for her and her brothers time and time again. Their chemistry was hot 🔥 hot 🔥 hot 🔥! And we got the most amazing HEA. Evie deserved it, too. After all, she sacrificed for her brothers. I loved this story and can't wait for Noah's next!!!.

Another great book by Mia Brody. I absolutely love all her books and this one did not disappoint. I can not get enough of her short stories that consist of men claiming their women. This was a sweet steamy dirty talking quick read and I did not want it to end. I recommend all of Mia Brody books.

WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice quick, short read.

Greer and Evie met when he goes to pickup his mother at the clinic she's working in. Greer tries to get Evie to go on a date with him, but she can't. A week later Greer comes back to the clinic trying to get Evie to go out with him and tells her she's going to marry him. Evie can't go on a date with Greer because she's responsible for her two younger brothers and has been since she was fifteen. While Evie is looking for an apartment Martha sees her and offers her the one over her garage. Evie has been living in a motel in the next town over with her two brothers. When Evie gets to the apartment later she finds Greer in her bathroom covered in paint. Evie takes him to the clinic and then drives him home. The next day Greer comes to the clinic and gives Evie a bouquet of flowers. Greer tells Evie they're to thank her for yesterday. After Greer leaves Martha asks Evie to take Greer's mom to her at her shop down the street. When Evie gets inside she didn't realize the scent of candles would trigger her asthma. Evie has an asthma attack and searches for her inhaler. Evie takes a puff but it's not enough medicine, Greer finds her asking her what's wrong. Evie tries to get out she's having an asthma attack, Greer picks her up and carries her to the clinic. Evie is giving three prescriptions and told to go home and rest. Greer takes Evie to the pharmacy and picks up her medicine for her. Greer picks up some medicine for Evie. Evie asks him not to judge her for wanting to put food on the table. Evie tells Greer her life is complicated right now, then she tells him about her brother's she takes care of. Greer lets Evie know that he doesn't mind complicated, after he gets her back to her apartment he is introduced to Chase and Parker. Greer decides to asks Evie's brother's if they'd like to go hang out at the arcade with him, and that way she can go on a date with him. Evie notices that Greer is patient with Chase and Parker. Greer tries to make Evie understand he wants to make her happy not just her brothers. The following day Greer invites Evie and her brother's to his families farm. Greer stops and gets them pizza then lets them order dessert. After spending the day at the farm, Greer offers Evie to stay the night, he puts Chase and Parker in his guest bedroom. Then he lets Evie climb into bed and he climbs in beside her and cuddles with her. The next morning Evie wakes up late, when she come out she finds Greer making breakfast the first things she wants to know is where her brothers are. Greer points to the backyard where his brothers are teaching them how to lasso. Greer invites Evie and her brothers to the fair, where they met up with his brother. After Greer's brothers take Chase and Parker, he takes Evie home. Greer pleasures Evie then they make love. Greer gets a gaming station for Chase and Parker and knows Evie is not going to be happy about it. When Evie complains that Chase and Parker won't ever want to leave he tells her to stay with him forever. Evie agrees to move in with Greer and she goes home to pack up their things. While Evie is packing she hears her ex-boyfriend at the door, who wants her back. While she's talking to him Greer shows up, and kicks him out. After what Evie's ex-boyfriend did to her Greer tells him not to ever come back. When Greer is making love to Evie he accidentally hits her night stand. Papers and books fall down, he helps her pick them up but wants to know what they are. When Evie won't tell him, he tells her they have no secrets. Evie tells him she never finished high school and wants to get her degree in nursing. Greer tells her he'll be there to help her anyway he can. A year later, Evie is able to adopt Chase and Parker. Then they head to his mom's home where they're having a Barbecue. When they arrive Greer tells Evie he has a question for her. Greer goes down on one knee and asks Evie to marry him and she tells him yes. Two years later, Evie marries Greer with Chase and Parker walking her down the aisle. Evie is officially a registered nurse and now works in the same office. Evie wants to go off her birth control she knows it's time to start a family with Greer. Evie knows they're soulmates, and the love they share is forever.

Evie has been raising her two younger brothers, Chase (10) and Parker (7) since she was fifteen years old and her junkie mom left them. She has been very careful as they have all been afraid that social services would take the boys away from her. She got a job at Dr. Cash’s clinic and has been doing the best that she can with what she makes. Miss Martha got her the job and has been looking out for her and the boys as far as she knows. But Evie has been letting things slide because she can’t afford them. Greer Maple comes in to pick up his mom from her doctor visit, as she has MS. Greer is instantly interested in Evie and their whole interaction is hilarious. I had to put the AC on as I had a feeling things were about to get hot and steamy. Whooo. Seeing what Evie, Chase and Parker have been going through made me want to hug them and cry. Greer understands what Evie and the boys are going through. Learning about what Greer and his brothers went through made me love them all the more. I love all the Courage County stories, and this one might be my new fave. Watching Greer’s brothers playing with Chase and Parker as well as teaching them ‘cowboy’ stuff, was fascinating and made me love them even more. The boys are hilarious with what they say to each other. They reminded me of my nephew, except my nephew gets into as much trouble as both boys combined lol. I really enjoyed the story line and can’t wait to read the next book in the series. I hope it is about Noah, or Barrett.

Big Bossy Cowboy is the first book in the Courage County Cowboys and it is an OTT, insta-love, claiming, older man/younger woman, family, a bit of drama and a lot of romance story. Evie is working at the medical clinic in Courage County as the receptionist. She is hiding things from everyone along with hiding herself. She has been taking care of her two younger brother's since their mother abandoned them when she was 15yo. She has worked hard to make a life for the boys and is living from paycheck to paycheck, with all of them in a rundown motel room one town over. Greer Maple is the oldest of the brothers. They were all first fostered and then adopted by the Maple's when they were younger. When their father died suddenly Greer stepped up and took over the running of the ranch. Since then he has focused on the ranch, not dating or doing relationships. But when he walks into the clinic to pick up his mother that all changes with one look at Evie. She may be ready to run but he will not let her get away, as this cowboy is big and bossy.....which just sets Evie's insides aflame and her resolve weakening.
This is a fun and steamy story. I liked the characters a lot, including the supporting characters. The story-line keeps your attention and there are a few twists added in to make it more interesting. I can't wait to read the rest of the books in the series, and see what happens with the Maple brothers.

Big Bossy Cowboy is book 1 in the Courage County Cowboys Series by Mia Brody. 

Evie has lived a hard life. After she and her younger brothers were abandoned by their mother, she took on the role. With no education,  she struggles to provide for them and to cover the costs of her medications. To make things worse, she has recently had to remove the three of them from a volatile domestic situation. All she wants now is to start fresh and have a better life for herself and her brothers. The last thing she needs is a gorgeous cowboy claiming she is his and that he is gonna marry her. 

Greer has waited for just the right woman to call his own, and he has finally found her in the doctors new receptionist. Evie is everything. Now, he just has to convince her to give him a chance.

Overall, I thought this book was good. It was quite a bit longer than Mia's books usually are. The only part I did not like was after the altercation with Spencer at the apartment when they know he is impaired, and yet they put him in his vehicle and let him drive away? That is not okay! This scene should have been left out or written differently. Otherwise,  the story was sweet, and I look forward to the next book in this series.

I haven't enjoyed a book this much n ages. I adored the story of Evie, a 19/20 year old woman who has been raising her 2 younger brothers Chase (10) and Parker (7) alone since she was 15 years old. Their mother left them alone and hasn't been seen since, so Evie has struggled alone taking mundane jobs to survive. She used to live with her ex boyfriend Spencer, thinking the stability of a family home would benefit the boys, but when that relationship turned abusive she fled with the boys with just the clothes on their backs. Staying at a motel on the outskirts of Courage County, working as a receptionist at a small doctors office, she meets Greer. Greer is a mountain man, that takes an instant liking to her, and declares that he will marry her and she will carry his babies the first time they meet. But with her life being as complicated as it is and having to care for her younger brothers, can she afford to let her guard down? Is this mysterious mountain man true to his word? can he protect them from her past and will he look out for all three of them? Brilliant book that I thoroughly enjoyed and would definitely recommend. can't wait for more from this author! I love her Courage County stories.

Greer meets Evie and within a few minutes declares that they're going to get married, except Evie has had a hard life and entertaining a bossy cowboy is the last thing on her mind even though he's the hottest guy she's laid eyes on - she barely has enough money for food, rent or medication.

However slowly, he shows her his sincerity and she, as do we, falls in love with him. Protective, sweet, with a touch of single-mindedness on making your life better and who knows he's in it to "play the long game"? Gosh, every woman deserves a Greer! I also liked Evie so much, as the level-headed older sister who was trying her best to hold it together.

I have loved all of the author's books and this was wonderful as well. It was fun, funny, and very touching, pulling at your heart strings especially for Evie and her brothers. The bonus scene was especially sweet!!! Awwwww

What a great start to a new series, and I'm so excited to read the next book given what we know so far of Noah. I can't believe I have to wait how long before the next book is out??.

Cowboy Greer has his sights set on Evie, the receptionist at the local health clinic. He can see that she spooks easily, so he’s trying to take things slowly with her. Problem is, “slow” for him means telling her she’ll be his wife during their first conversation. Evie will admit the bossy cowboy is attractive but her life is too busy for love — she has two younger brothers she’s raising and living paycheck to paycheck. She thinks two kids are a deal-breaker, but to Greer, it just means he’ll have two more people to happily care for. WillEvie take a chance on the persistent cowboy?

I adored Greer. His charm just jumped off the page and made me wish I could jump in! He was definitely OTT but in the best way. He only wanted to love Evie and her brothers and he happily went through every obstacle she threw his way. Evie was afraid to let another man into her life after the way the last one treated her but she didn’t have much of a choice with Greer.

Highly, highly recommend if you like OTT insta-everything, scorching smexy times and a HEA (with a bonus epilogue!). It’s going on my re-read list.

Eu achei a sinopse do livro interessante, contudo comecei a ler sem muitas expectativas. Mas não demorou muito para que a história conquistasse a minha atenção e me vi devorando cada capítulo. Geralmente prefiro histórias em que não haja dramas com ex (ainda mais se for um ex abusivo), só que essa aqui foi tão linda, que isso quase nem me incomodou. Evie passou por tanta coisa... ela é tão forte e corajosa, não tem como não se impressionar com a sua força e determinação, e admirar sua coragem e garra. Ela abdicou de tanto pelo bem dos irmãos! Fiquei muito feliz de alguém tão maravilhoso como o Greer ter aparecido na vida deles. Ele era tudo o que os três irmãos não sabiam que precisavam. Foi lindo vê-los se tornar uma família, e ver as crianças voltando a sorrir e ser feliz. Eu estou apaixonadíssima por essa história. Teve epílogo, cena bônus e eu alegremente leria muito mais conteúdo sobre eles. Amei demais e já estou curiosa sobre os livros dos irmãos do Greer. Muito mais do que recomendado!

This is book number 1 of the Courage County Cowboys and focuses on Greer and Evie. Evie has had a rough go of things for years. She has been raising her younger brothers for years after their mother walked out on them. Evie has been doing everything in her power to keep their heads above water and to provide her brothers with stability. When Greer sees Evie for the first time, he immediately knows that he has found his one. He knows exactly what he wants and does everything that he can to get Evie to fall for him as hard as he fell for her. I love that Greer was able to connect as well as he did with Evie’s brothers and that he knew exactly what they were feeling when he met them. He provided all three of them what they had all longed for for so long. They all got stability, safety, protection, and love in spades. This was such a great story and a great start to the series.

I absolutely adored this story and the relationship between Greer and Evie!
I was hooked into this story from start to finish and I couldn't put my phone down. Their relationship is just so genuine. A love that I believe everyone needs.

This story had plot, smut and sweet love all in one great short story. I 100% recommend this to anyone who loves cowboy romances. You'll be hooked and left wanting more just like me!! <3

They are Instantly attracted to each other. Evie pulls back emotionally because of all her baggage in life. But no, no, no! Greers not having any of that. He informs her…”Your name is MINE!” “I’m going to marry you”.
Ohhh..what a fantastic, sweet and love ever lasting story. Come along to find out all about their tragic backgrounds, their answers to problems that’s stands in their way, and how “The Cowboy” changes all their lives.🥰🥰.

First we had the Mountain men of Courage County and now we have cowboys. Yeehaa. This was a steamy, quick love at first sight read for the MMC at least. His first meeting of Evie at the doctors reception and Greer knew she was his forever. Evie has had a very tough life, looking after her two kid brothers after their mothers abandonment therefore very sceptical of his feelings towards her. Greer goes for what he wants and that’s Evie. Loved how he cared for her and her brothers and showed them the love they deserved. An amazing introduction to the Maple family with sensitive issues, sadness but also happiness, personal growth, trust and so much love. Greer is the sort of man a strong woman like Evie needs, caring, sweet and a dirty talking cowboy. Umm I think I’m a little jealous of her. Can’t wait for Noah.

This is a short, sweet and sexy insta love romance. Greer is big, brawny and bold, not about to let curvy Evie get away. He knows what he wants and intends to get her and keep her safe, happy and loved. I love a growly protective cowboy and Greer is definitely that. He shows both Evie and her two younger brothers that he means what he says and that they will always be safe and cared for with him.

Evie is stronger than she thinks, thinks more about others than herself and would do anything for her brothers, even miss taking medicine she needs to treat her asthma. She owns the mistakes she has made in the past and is still able to open her heart to love even after all she has been through. Evie and Greer complement each other well. I love the connection and rapport between them.

This delightful book has my full recommendation.

Greer is a cowboy through and through; he know what he wants and goes for it with no apologies. A sensitive and kind soul, he sees Evie’s fear and sweetness and kindles his flame for her as he works hard to earn her trust. Evie is a strong and independent woman who has sacrificed over and over for her younger brothers. Her spirit is absolutely beautiful, and I love how Greer forges ahead with her and truly sees her and her brothers. This swoon-worthy cowboy and the woman he loves offer all the feels, a thrill of action, and a sweet love story that I’ll definitely read again and again.

Evie works as the receptionist at the medical clinic in Courage County. She is raising her two younger brothers, Chase who is ten and Parker who is seven. They live an hour away in Sweetgrass River in a little hotel room. Their mother is a junkie who abandoned them. The clinic is financed by the Taylor Ranch because the doctor is Cash Taylor. The nurse is 60-year-old Martha who has worked there a long time.

Greer Maple walks into the clinic and flirts with Martha. He then sees Evie and tells her that she is going to go on a date with him and then marry him. Evie is not impressed. She tells him no and that he is just a big bossy cowboy.

I loved that Martha took Evie and her brothers under her wing and brought them to town to live in the apartment over her garage. It was cute that Greer was so determined to break down Evie’s walls.

Greer is indeed a big bossy cowboy telling Evie he is going to marry her and that she is his even before they have gone out on a date. Their story is a little bit different from the others in the series. The steam takes a back seat to how Evie’s history with an abusive ex and her looking after her two young brothers affects her life. Although the boys’ behaviour is realistic considering what they have gone through I didn’t like how they treated Evie sometimes and I didn’t like how she sacrificed herself (rationing her asthma medication and endangering herself) to provide for them. Although a sweet romance with a happy ending for them all, a bit too realistic on all the troubles and struggles for me to love it.

Meet the Maple brothers! There are four of them and I’m pretty sure they are all going to lose their hearts to cute, sassy, smart women who will put them in their place.

Greer, the oldest Maple, falls quick and fast the first time he meets Evie. In fact, right there and then, he tells her he’s going to marry her someday.

There are a lot of layers to Evie. Including two little brothers she’s caring for. But Greer is up to the test while still filthy-talking his way into her heart.

Greer and Evie’s story is another heartwarming, smexy romance from Mia Brody. Her stories are inclusive, body positive, and I look forward to reading every one of them as they are released.

Evie was fifteen when her mother left, and she became responsible for taking care of her two younger brothers. Still struggling, Evie ran from an abusive ex and is trying to start over.

Greer grew up in the system until the Maples found him and his siblings. After a rough start he knows how important family is. When he sees Evie, Greer knows she is his and he will do anything he can to prove it to her and her brothers.

Greer and Evie's story is one that warms your heart as Evie find someone in her life she can trust and who will be there for her. Greer is bossy, but it is because he knows what he wants, but his love for his mother and brother make you swoon.

Good start to the series.
