Oliver “Ollie” Truman

My purpose in life has always been one: protect my little brother. And the only way to do that is doing what my dirtbag of a father says—easier said than done—save enough money to grab our bag packs and leave those miserable days behind us. There’s no harm in having a little fun in the meantime though, is there? And the growling beast who flattens his opponents with a single punch looks like a perfectly hot diversion to me.

The crowd calls him Hulk. Dark intense eyes, large hands, scarred back, huge rocky pecks, thick porn arms and tree trunk thighs. And If the bulge in his pants is not a mirage a very proportionat-ed…appendage.

He growls, I snort. He rejects me, I stalk him. He threatens me, I kiss him. He orders me around, I…that depends, are we in or out of bed?

His broody, rough behavior dares me to get closer, and his crude, hard words turn me on like nothing ever before. My sassy mouth has got me in trouble more times that I can count but he seems to have found a very delicious way to shut me up.

What to do when I discover his protective side? His possessiveness? The secrets? The rage and destruc-tion?

Can two broken souls find their missing pieces among the dark, bloody, jagged ones?

WARNING-This is not a sci-fi angel story, unless you see eager vigilantes with a dark side as angels.

This is an action packed romance with an HEA and no cliffhangers. It features an over the top posses-sive mountain of a man, and a bratty, determined twunk with a sassy mouth. There’s violence, blood, torture (only of very bad people), dark humor, amazing side characters and very rough, spicy scenes. Morality’s grey area is quite stretched in this story. Please check the triggers at the beginning of the book.

This is book two in the Angels of Wrath Series. Each book follows a different couple.

I can't remember a time when I wasn't reading a book. Whether it was sci-fi, romance or a detective story didn't matter, because it was the perfect way to escape from reality for a little while. When I wasn't reading, I was imagining my own stories, and after a while I started writing them, hoping to give other people that little escape I still enjoy so much.

My books are full of dark humor, spicy kinky scenes, possessive, obsessed, protective MCs and always have happy endings.

I live in Japan with my two kids and my stinky, super cute Frenchie.

“You’re playing with fucking fire.” I grit my teeth, almost wincing at the cracking sound. “I like it when it burns.”

While still keeping the over-the-top vibes as the previous installment, Six seemed to be a lot more developed character-wise. Rague and Ollie had a lot more depth to them, compared to the couple of One, making them a little more realistic and believable.

The plot was also better constructed. The bantering and dialogue still felt a little too much, but not as bad as I thought the dialogues were in the first book. It did, however, drag on for way too long. It didn’t really keep me engaged throughout.

The dirty talk was a little cringy at times, and, again, a little much. Still, the smut was fun and sexy. Bonus points for intercrural.

“Now you want to be fucked by the beast.” “I want your beauty to fuck me like a beast.”

Also, Kitty is such a better pet name than Piglet. That pet name still haunts me. *shudders*

I received a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews, and this is my honest review.

Ok, so I liked One, the first book in this series (Angels of Wrath) but I really loved Six! 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤

Ollie is a feisty young man with a lot of drive and determination.
He has always done everything in his power to protect his little brother from their awful father and the dangerous environment in which they grew up.
He really didn't have an easy life and yet he brought me so much happiness with his biting and amusing retorts. I can't tell you how entertaining it is to be in his POV.
I've totally fallen under Ollie's spell… I think it's just impossible not to adore him! 🥰🥰🥰

I sigh, puzzled by my response to him. From the fucking beginning, he unsettled me. His fearless behavior, the boldness in his words, and the vulnerability he carries around in his eyes, which he tries so hard to hide behind his cockiness. He’s unpredictable, broken into so many parts that he somehow put back together again, creating a disarming, unique, fucking beautiful human being.

I love my fictional characters to be a little deranged, possessive, morally gray, and a real badass, so it's safe to say I was absolutely won over by Rague! 😆😍
I'm always fascinated by a cold-hearted man who finally develops feelings for someone for the first time…

“Mine, Kitty. Haven’t I been clear enough? You think I fuck every man bareback? Never before, just like the blow job I gave you.”
His mouth falls open with total shock at my confession.
“Do you think letting you kiss me was an accident? Or touch me?”

These two never had it easy, and despite the fact that they have really different personalities, they're linked by their respective sufferings, they understand each other... I have no doubt that their relationship will last forever. ♾️

“Is this real?” My voice comes out as a whisper, so I clear my throat and ask more firmly, “Between us. Is it real?”
“Ollie, you’re the most real thing in my life, and I won’t ever, ever let you go.”

I absolutely must mention that in this book we have the immense pleasure of meeting Lori, Ollie's best friend. (If we don't get his story, it's very possible that I'll start a riot!)
The scenes where they are both in it are completely hilarious, I would have taken even more of them!

“Okay, putting my horny glasses on. Oh, what am I saying? I never take them off.”
He half laughs before telling me to spill the beans.
“Not much to say.” I continue to stuff my mouth. I don’t know why, but I feel kind of reluctant to talk about Hulk.
“That bad, ah? Did he drain the spaghetti prematurely? Tried to stuff the meatballs as well? Tasted like rotten cheese?”
I almost choke on my Coke, and while coughing, he pats my back.
“For fuck’s sake, Lori. I’d like to eat pasta again.”

🤣🤣🤣

I really liked Ollie's little brother and all the other members of Rague's family too, and there are a lot of them, so it's really an achievement for the author to have managed to create such a wonderful and captivating group of people.

I can't wait to continue reading the rest of this series! 🔪🩸🩸🩸

4.5 rounded up ~
I enjoyed the hell out of this but I can’t give it a full 5 stars because there were parts I skimmed. 🙈

I really didn’t think I was going to like this by how the book started and I was 90% sure I was going to not finish this when Hulk booked an escort after meeting Ollie but I continued on and I found myself really enjoying this.

Now, full disclosure- I am a serial skimmer, if there’s parts that are boring me I will skim until I’m interested again. And I did A LOT of skimming here, mainly during the interactions with Hulk’s brothers- I didn’t find it entertaining or interesting I mainly wanted the story to get back to Ollie.

Once Ollie and Hulk kissed, I was hooked. I LOVE possessive characters and Hulk was perfectly possessive. And perfectly possessive along with only liking the touch of your partner? *chefs kiss*😌

I loved the scenes of Ollie getting sick and Hulk taking care of him and everything that followed and Hulk experiencing a lot of firsts with Ollie.

This has A LOT of OTT behaviors and themes which is fine by me, it’s brain candy.

Still like this one even with Rague using the escort service but not interested in reading the rest right now.

Originally read January 2024

Strangely, I enjoyed this one more than the first one, even though Rague does something that's a pet peeve of mine in books and will usually lower a rating for me. At least it wasn't in detail. there was also a lot of sex and sexual thoughts going into it and was pretty much the basis of their relationship for a while, but it got better as it went. Must have been my mood. I really like the concept of the books, and I'm looking forward to more.

So the premise is obviously OTT, and so far I haven't been too impressed with similar books featuring crimelords, murdery vigilantes, assassins, and psychos - but for some reason, this was written in a way that it more palatable to me.
Despite unapologetically leaning into them fun tropes (unadvised crushes on dangerously violent and murdery individuals, unhinged possessiveness, et cetera), the characters still felt believable in a way, which imo is tough to pull off amidst the ridiculousness of the plot.
I liked that.

4.5 stars. I love starting a new book where the trigger warnings already hit the boxes.

Many years ago Raguel was kidnapped and locked away, he was a medical object, a lab rat, until he was rescued. He was not alone, there were others, all kept because of their psychopathic traits and wanted to make them assassins.
They were rescued, adopted by two moms, they are saved but damaged, and got new names after the seven angels of wrath: Raphael, Michael, Gabriel, Ramiel, Uriel, Sariel, and Raguel.

“I’m big and strong and like it rough. Like to dominate and use.”

Raguel/Rague is now twenty-nine, a mountain of a man at six-five and two hundred fifty pounds. He lives for his family, together they finish off people who are bad.
One night after another winning fight he got approached by a small guy who offers to suck him.
It didn’t come that far because of an interruption, but Rague can’t get the twunk out of his head.

Oliver can’t wait to take his younger brother Sully with him and leave their pimp of an asshole father behind.

A second approach is more fruitful, Rague can’t get Oliver out of his head, and he never does repeats.
It seems Oliver also fights, only his opponents are way bigger, Rague doesn’t want him to.

Everyone is afraid of Rague, Oliver not a bit, when everyone staggers backward by Rague’s growl, Oliver just snorts. He even feels safe with Rague, the man is hugely protective and possessive, he waits for Oliver to leave when he understands how damaged is is..

“I’ll never let him leave.“

There’s still a story about Oliver’s shitty scumbag dad!

I love it when a story is clear, with names, circumstances, and scenery, in the first chapter I already understood Rague and his life.
It’s a strongly written dark story, rough, tough and primal, it’s all quite physical, and animalistic, with profanity-mouthed, morally grey characters, who take justice into their own hands, only the bad ones. Keep in mind there are some gore scenes that could make you uncomfortable.

Good old vigilante justice. This is the second in a series about a group of vigilante blood brothers that off people that deserve it.

This book follows Raguel, a big, beefy guy posing as an underground fighter in order to take down some awful criminals. There he meets Oliver, a younger fighter who propositions him for steamy times, but Rague quickly learns has more to him than meets the eye.

This book did a great job of taking a trope that’s done a lot (big bad fighter protector, and younger guy that needs protection), and making it deeper and more complex.

You’re going to get:
-reluctant fighters with ulterior motives
-bad guys get what they deserve
-“who did this to you?” Moment
-super protective giant bf
-light mutual stalking
-caretaking

These two were so strong but so sweet on each other. I loved that!

In terms of plot, I was definitely entertained the whole time. Some parts were a little skipped over, but overall I enjoyed it!

❣️ Size Difference. Dark Humor. Hurt/Comfort.

So in One, we had Raph and Michael (who made so many cameos here and I LOVED it). Six featured Rague, the beastly giant blood brother and the twunk, Ollie, who would do anything for his younger brother. Their meet cute included Ollie propositioning Rague and Rague not being able to forget him.

𝗢𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗲’𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗽𝘂𝘁 𝗵𝗶𝗺 𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝘆 𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗿, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗸𝗶𝘀𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝘁𝗲.

Southern this had hurt/comfort vibes galore. Ollie is in a tough situation because of his desire to protect his younger brother. And when Rague steps in, you really see his possessive side.

The plot was so good! It’s not too deep but it’s engaging. It’s darkish and funny and emotional and cute and snarky.

𝗜𝘁 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝗲. 𝗛𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗶𝗹𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗲, 𝗮𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹. 𝗛𝗲’𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

Lemme just say, Paulina can write smut. Good LAWD, her smexy scenes are too hot for words. The dirty talk is just *chefs kiss.* Rague was hung like a horse and Ollie could take him all. Y’all, I’m not joking…the HOTTEST.

And now I need more of the brothers and Lori and maybe Sully eventually? Or at least we can see how he fares in the future? Loving this series!

Ollie will do everything in his power to protect his little brother from their father, including fighting in an illegal ring. He needs to do whatever his father tells him until he can get enough money to get them away from him.

Rague is fighting in that same illegal ring to uncover who has been beating teens to death for sport. What he didn’t expect to find was a sassy, never backing down twunk who can’t help but come on to him.

These two are explosively hot together. Their size difference is balanced out by Olie’s personality. Their characters fit together well, and their story shows how they grow comfortable with each other. Both have issues but the other takes the time to accept and help overcome those in a patient and respectful manner. The mental issues don’t come between their physical connection, and the spicy scenes are of the charts. I love the possessiveness Rague has over Ollie, a guy who wouldn’t kiss in the beginning, ending up marking ‘his territory’ freely and often whenever he feels necessary, and he deems it necessary often!

The side characters in this series, all who hopefully get their own book, are amazing. Lori, best friend to Ollie and equally as sassy, made for some hilarious scenes and banter. I can see him with one of the brothers! And I have to say that I am intrigued by Clover, I need him to make more appearances and maybe a book of his own!

I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

A Joyfully Jay review.

4 stars

Six is the second book in the Angels of Wrath series, but each book is a standalone following different couples. Though the reader may have questions regarding the brothers’ rescue, Rague and the family’s background are understandable without the entire context. This is a dark romance dealing with tortured children and vigilantism, so there are mentions of experimentation on children, substance misuse and overdose, on-page violence, and other triggers listed in the book. Six is as much fun as its horny and bloody predecessor, with a bit more cohesion, and its investigation is better incorporated into the series’ focus on hot sexy times with morally gray protagonists.

Bcuz for the life of me, the confusing description of Ollie is making it very difficult for me to picture him AT ALL. It says he's muscular, wins underground fights BUT he's also so small that Rag's shirt reaches his knees?? HUH??? The mental gymnastics i have to do just to imagine him, is short circuiting my brain. He's impossible to visualise, and if i can't picture the MC, half the fun is just gone. 💁‍♂️

Don't get me wrong, i still very much like Ollie and Rag. But when i first heard Ollie being called “kitty” i didn’t know he also fights nor his body description so i assumed he’s a smol boi. Calling the built, muscular Ollie "kitty" is confusing.

Um.. on the positive side i like how Rag is protective of Ollie and takes care of him a lot. He stalks him everywhere and bring him to their safe house (i love this trope).

But all i have are issues with this book:

♦See, Raphe (from book 1) proposes in this book. But they have their own book so why couldn’t they do it in the epilogue?? Seems pointless to add that in someone else’s book. Wish it was

♦There’s some decent investigation but also, this book stops being about the MCs and becomes all about wedding planning for that couple. Just like in Five, it becomes about other people and not MCs. i’m still bummed about that. 💀

♦There’s a lot of violence in this one. On page abuse at Ollie by his fucker of a father. And there’s on page abuse on a woman by him too. i dunno what’s exactly going on there. It’s just gross.

Both underground fighters, heavy care taking, protective, dry him w/ a towel, big peen, hookup to lovers.

Oh rague! This boy is all golden retriever energy once he finds Oliver. Oliver has been through a lot trying to provide and protect his younger brother. Their father is a dealer and a pimp and does whatever he can to manipulate his sons into helping. Oliver is at a fight(he doesn't want to take part in) when he sees *hulk* otherwise known as Rague. Poor Rague doesn't know what hits him when Ollie comes to flirt and offer himself. But oh he finds out!

Ok so going into this I had some high expectations as I really liked the first book. Safe to say this did not disappoint. I was so invested in the story it’s self and was so curious to learn more about raguel’s backstory. I definitely think that rague and Oliver were like a match made in heaven. To add on to that I really like the introduction into Lori and I really and praying that there is a story for Lori and Gabe because I can sense sexual tension there(or I’m being delusional). Overall I really liked it and can’t wait to read three. I have a guess on who it is but I don’t want to jinx it. Again loved the book and am dying in anticipation for more

I loved Raph & Michaels book and I was expecting good things from this book and it delivered. Oliver is sassy towards Rague from the star where others tried to avoid getting his attention Oliver went straight in with no fux given. We get to hear what happened to Rague when he was young and why he doesn’t like certain things unless it’s Ollie doing them . Can we talk about Lori if you think Ollie is sassy well Lori just has no filter whatsoever and what is going on with Gabe they might hate each other but we all know there’s a fine line between love and hate.

As with One I picked up and a lot I missed in my first read . If possible I loved the story better the second time around i still laughed out loud at some things especially Lori and his stalker playlist and his lack of brain to mouth filter . I also still think something is going to happen between Lori and Gabe in a future book and I’m living for that and also Sari & Uri because we all know it’s going to happen .

Love this series so much the plot and the main characters are perfect . Oliver and Raguel are so good together they compliment each others crazy. Lori well I think he just might be the craziest of them all and I can’t wait for him to break Gabriel down.

Rague and Ollie were seriously the perfect match. This book is spicyyyyy, and I loved every minute of it.

Never would Rague have guessed that the sassy little fighter he saw in the locker room would be exactly what he needed. He knew what he liked and how he liked it, and not many could handle him based on his beastlyness. Then comes Ollie, and he handles Ragues beauty just fine.

Rague and his brothers are working hard to find out who’s behind the string of deaths that had been showing up. Rague becomes a fighter in the illegal rings which is where he meets his Kitty. And boy does he make him purr.

Ollie is sassy and so incredibly sweet. He may be small but he’s got a huge personality. He’s strong and confident, and wears his heart on his sleeve. He see’s Rague and immediately decides he wants to take him for a ride, only for Rague to decide Ollie was going to be his.

Rague is as damaged as his brothers, but he struggles in a different way than the rest of them. His anger and need to revenge is something he’s been working on. Then he meets Ollie, and finds his anchor. His missing piece. His other half. Ollie is exactly what Rague needs, he can handle him and help him at the same time. He challenges him, but also makes him feel something he’s never felt outside of his family. Ollie and Rague fall in love quickly they just don’t quite realize it.

I’m rarely a fan of side characters but Lori is amazing. He is so sassy and oh so crazy. I absolutely love him.

I’m excited for what’s next in this series, I’m absolutely loving this family.

Rague & Ollie
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶🌶🌶

Morally gray MC
Family of vigilantes
Found family
Size difference
Protective MC

These two were great. I also found this “softer” than the first. Rague and Ollie both like to take care of eachother. It was cute

“Ollie doesn’t know it yet, but this is only the beginning. I’ll never let him leave. I will protect whatever this incredible thing is between us with my life.”

I adore the found family aspect.
Sully, Ollie's brother, is a big part of this book, especially the end.

I suddenly realize that I feel… happy. It’s usually a very fleeting emotion for me. I’m more worried, angry, upset, anxious about the future. This is nice.

Even Lori, Ollie's best friend is welcomed into the found family unit.

“I need you close. I want to keep you safe— that includes Sully and Lori. They’re your family, so now they’re mine as well. Just accept it.”

Ollie and Rague were so hot. 🔥

“I need you, Rague, with me because… because I love you.”

The plot was great for this and I love the set up for the next book too.

“Good boy,” he breathes, and I preen at his praise. “Good beastie,” I tease back, and he huffs with amusement.

This is a great series

Six was awesome. I am now waiting on 'pins and needles' for the third book in the series.

For me, a book needs the holy trifecta of readers to be a five.
Characters: need to be developed and believable.
Plot: this needs to be a bit twisty and with layers - simple and straightforward are fine for a fill-in or a comfortable read but with plots? - more is better.
Finally world building: some think that world-building is only used in fantasy, sci-fi, or alternate reality. In reality, with contemporary fiction, the world-building is complicated. The author must stay within the reality of our world and keep all details believable while crafting a fictional story that pushes boundaries and engages the mind. One slip and the world of the story is shattered.
Paulina Ian-Kane maneuvers through this trifecta with grace and skill to bring us justice vigilantes, with a dark twist, who we can love.

so possessive

This right here. So hotly possessive I loved it!
This was the first book in the series I’ve read, had One on my TBR list as well which has been moved up to next. I am so intrigued by not only the MC’s but the side characters as well. I can not wait to read all of their stories, esp Lori and Gabe. While I have only read M/M the past few years I hope the author does Meg and Linda’s story, I’d love to know about them and how they got and dealt with the boys.
My only “complaint” and it’s just a me thing is I kept mixing up the R names while reading them. But I totally love how they all got their new names.

Omg!! I freaking loved this book!! Ollie and Rague are so hot together. This is fast becoming one of my favorite series. The “brothers” are great. They all have their issues, but never fail to have each other’s backs. Ollie’s brother Sully and his best friend Lori were great additions. I’m hopeful that Lori will be Gabe’s person in a future book. He needs someone to shake him up a bit. Rague and Ollie melted my heart and left me smiling. I’ll be counting down the days for book 3 to come out!

I love a book with a good brat, and Ollie is definitely a brat. I love how he never backs down or seems truly scared of Rag. There's something so satisfying when the murderous psychopath claims his man, and adds in those closest to him to the fold. Lori is one of the best side characters!! Soo good! I absolutely loved this book, they just keep getting better as the series goes on!

Narration is soooo good as well. I could listen to these guys all day every day!

I really loved this book, Ollie and Raguel so much. Ollie is just so funny and I love his brother Sully and Ollie's bestie Lori. I really hope Lori gets with a certain brother. Because I really want Lori to be a love interest.
