The book Loathing Ryan by Aria Harding is the first book of the Cedar Ridge series. The MMC, Ryan Miller, and FMC, Izabel Sander are sworn enemies. Year after year he would come up with ways to embarrass and pick on her. And there was nothing she could do about it. Until one day, she did.
Now they are stuck together. They are forced to be partners in every activity of the summer camp. and following an unexpected twist they must put their differences aside to survive the journey ahead.
I loved this book. AND I LOVED THE TROPES. Enemies to lovers, forced proximity. Small town.
I love their banters and bickering. The chemistry between them was good. I love how the story progresses and the characters fall in love. It is amazing to witness that. They were high school students so it was quite shocking to see them so mature despite their age.
If I am being honest, I do not like bully romance. I never read it. So, it was a bit hard for me to see Ryan being mean towards Izabel but the good thing is he redeems himself and changes for the better.
This is the first book of duet and the cliffhanger at the end made me dive into the next book right away. The ending kind of broke my heart. I cannot wait to read the next book.
The only thing I did not like was that it gets a little boring in mid but thankfully it picks up the pace.
Please read it. It was a good one.

Izabel Sanders has been Ryan Millers target every summer during their school’s annual camping retreat, constantly pulling pranks and picking on her. Well, Izabel has had enough and retaliates. Unfortunately, this forces Izabel and Ryan to be partners in every activity throughout the entire summer trip. An unexpected problem happens while kayaking together, causing them to be lost and stranded. This means they need to work together and rely on each other to stay safe. This forced proximity has them realizing there truly is a fine line between love and hate.
This is my first read by Aria Harding and I was blown away. I’m not a huge fan of high school romances, but for some reason, I was immediately hooked when I started reading this book. The characters are mature—at least for the most part—but also very relatable, and I think that’s why helped make this such a fun, easy read. I love Aria’s narrative and creative writing style as I felt so connected and absorbed into this story—there were many times where I couldn’t stop reading.
Izabel and Ryan were such a fun couple to read about. You can feel their tension brewing just in the first few chapters. Izabel and Ryan are total opposites: Izabel being your history-junkie/book lover while Ryan is your fun time, laid back athlete. But it’s what makes them the perfect couple. I loved reading their story, and I’m excited to see how it continues in the next book.
In conclusion, I absolutely loved reading this. I smiled, I laughed, I gasped, I cried, I kicked my feet in the air from all the cuteness. Huge thank you to Aria Harding for sending me an ARC of this duet. Now it’s off to read book 2!!

This duet was everything. Aria does heartbreak so dang well, but she also does happiness just as impeccably. This duet will take you through a rollercoaster of emotions and every single one of them is totally worth it. If you love enemies-to-lovers, lovers-to-strangers, then lovers again, l highly recommend this duet. I will say that there is some DV content, although not between the MC's, but it can triggering if you are sensitive to that sort of content.
Please protect your mental health.

PSA: ARC review! Really a 4.5/5 for me! I am truly shocked that Aria made high school aged characters come off as mature and relatable but realistic for being in highschool still to a 26 year old reader. Sometimes I see other authors promote their work featuring high school romance and it comes across as so cringe but not this book! I am currently doing long distance rn and can relate extra hard to those intense periods of longing and loneliness both Ryan and Bells faced. I am so excited to dive into their lives as adults in Liberating Bells next!

Ryan and Izabel are High School Rivals. Every year when their school intermix at summer camp, he always has a prank or two up his sleeves and senior year is no different. As punishment these two are forced to be paired up for the remainder of their time at camp, however I doubt that they expected an unexpected adventure following a kayaking trip would change their lives forever.
Ryan grew on me as this story progress. He very much wants to change his ways and make amends for the past. Bells to some extend doesn’t make it easy for him but I also think she could have tried a little harder! However, I can’t blame her when he does the things he does. I really like how Bells finally stood up for herself and allowed her fire to come out - Ryan totally deserved it!
I’ll admit that it took me a moment get my head into the right space for this book as our main protagonists are seniors in High School but I encourage you to overlook that fact to an extent because the writing makes them feel much more mature (once the practical jokes end!).

This is the first book I’ve read by Aria Harding and it won’t be my last! The way I was able to picture this whole entire book as a movie made me so dang giddy. I’m always here for an enemies to lovers romance and this one did not disappoint. I’m normally not a fan of the whole summer camp setting in my books, with that being said I ate this one up. I loved the angst so much and how you know for a fact there is more there but both of them were fighting it and being so damn mean to each other. The banter back and forth had me giggling out loud. Ryan would be such a jerk to Izabel but then say things like “ I’m here. I’ve got you. You’re safe” and I swear I melted every single time. I actually forgot that they were seniors in high school throughout most of this book. At times it read older but then the FMC would do or say something and I would quickly realize their ages. There was only a short period of time where things were going too good and I got a bit bored. I feel like that happens in most books though. I love the angst before they get together and then once they do it just kinda like 🤔 what now? The way this book ended had me so thankful the next one in the duet comes out tomorrow.

This book had me feeling all the feels. The story line and character growth were done really well. The enemies to lovers in this book will have you sitting at the end of your seat not being able to put it down. I adore the relationship between the FMC and the MMC. I was absolutely destroyed by the end of this book and can not wait to jump into the next one.

ARC review: Ms. Harding did it again! I wasn’t expecting the high school story line and I’m usually not a fan of them, but she has made them more mature than just high schoolers. I devoured this book. I love the characters so much. The story line of long distance, I can relate to so this book has tugged my heart strings & I’ve definitely shed a few tears.

I've read this book which is a part of a duet and i love it so much... With all my favorite tropes and an interesting plot twist I enjoyed it thoroughly but the end of the book got me to a minor heart break...
The kind of enimosity both share has me surprised and chuckle at the same time. Ryan is the king of Bennett college prep while Izabel on the other hand is just a girl who wouldn't back down from a challenge and is head strong.
When she had a disastrous accident with Ryan beginning the adventurous journey of their revenge pranks she knew it won't end well at least for her.
Not revealing much and spoiling the fun all I'll say is its a refreshing enemies to lovers trope in the young adult genre, the one you should definitely opt for especially if you enjoy the tropes mentioned above...

I've had the pleasure of reading this story before. And let me tell you, I have no problem reading it again. Why?
Well because Bells and Ryan are so damn adorable. And seeing their teenage love grow is great. Especially after all the time of being enemies. It’s great to see their emotions turn into something else. Of course, they fit so well together. And that shack....absolutely perfect!
If you want a damn good at odds but turns into love story, check this out. Aria captured my attention the first time and held it again the second time!

I began reading this author's books from the beginning when she had a pen name. From the very first chapter, I knew she was a special writer.
Ryan and Bell's story began in the way many young people's stories begin...hating, teasing, wondering, and warming up to each other.
The book is well worth the read, and you will fall in love with Ryan and Izabel just as I did.
Don't forget to get the follow-up novel, Liberating Bells. You will be glad you did.

I have Fallon in love with this book. I could not put it down. Bella and Ryan are everything. Their story is a beautiful one. Ryan and Bella is a must read. I cheered for them the whole time. I was on a roller coaster for a bit with them. I had my share of crying for them as well. This is a 10 star read for me!

So many twists and turns1 Definitely was not expecting what happened in this book (which is a good thing…. romance book storylines get annoying sometimes) and I can’t wait to read book 2!!! Give this a read :)
