A former Army Ranger hiding his identity to protect his sister. An impetuous schoolteacher who discovers his secret. Will Quaid and Anna survive the dangerous journey through the rugged mountains of Augustine and win the prize money or are the secrets too hard to keep?
Lieutenant Quaid Raven has been living under an assumed name and succeeding as an Army Ranger since he was ‘kidnapped’ at eighteen. His focus in life is protecting his younger sister. When the opportunity comes to help a charitable woman on a reality television show and make a million dollars, he has to take it, despite the risks. The money will make it possible to keep his sister safe for years to come and the show has promised his voice and face will be obscured.
What Quaid didn’t plan on was Anna, a talkative and carefree angel who lights up his world and reminds him how to laugh and smile again. Quaid finds himself falling for Anna, but nothing in this world can come before his responsibilities to his sister. Especially when he knows the danger he’d bring to Anna if anyone found out how much he cares for her.
Anna Marley, a young preschool teacher from north Chicago, is used to living on little and making up for it with her natural enthusiasm and joy. She lives and breathes for the little angels at her Play time Centers. When the chance comes to not only win a million dollars for her charity, but launch the adventure from the luxurious castle of Augustine, she about dies with excitement!
Anna can’t believe her luck when she is paired up with the most mesmerizing man she has ever met. She quickly discovers Quaid’s secret, or at least part of it, when she recognizes who he really is and desperately wants to help him, love him, and lighten his burden. If only she could get him to let down his guard and let her in.
Will Anna’s determination to love Quaid break down his walls and give him the courage to open his heart, or will their blossoming love put them both in mortal peril?

We are brought back to visit Augustine as the location for this book. Lt. Quaid Raven and Anna Marley have a fantastic story. Anna is a preschool teacher who has started a charity for underprivileged children to have free daycare. She is hoping to win the million dollars the reality show has for her. Quaid is her protector for the show and he has a secret that could cost more than the million dollars for Anna’s charity if it is discovered. It could cost their lives. The twists and turns in this story will keep you turning the page to get to the end.
Impossible Climb is a wonderful read with the location set in Augustine. There we encounter some of the royals from one of Checketts' previous series. This story focuses on Quaid and Anna as Anna is competing to earn a million dollars on a reality TV show. Anna has a cheerful, positive attitude with a strong faith in God. Quaid is trying not to fall in love with Anna in order to protect her from danger. If you enjoy danger, intrigue, secret identities, and romance, you will need to check this story out.
This is the story of how a young woman and a young man got on a reality show to win a million dollars. They both had to do various things for six days and then they could be free to do whatever. The mystery and intrigue in this story is very exciting and a real treasure to read without stopping. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
Anne Markey is a gregarious preschool teacher who has set up Play Time to provide a place for children to come and play in a safe place while their parents are working. Anne hasn't had a lot of material things in her life; but she makes the best of her situation. She was chosen to participate in A CHANCE FOR CHARITY for money for her Play Time. She has to travel to the Kingdom of Manga which is thrilling to her. All the way, she comments on a variety of scenes, or whatever catches her attention. She is so appreciative for everything and tells it all. She does it in such an innocent manner that no one is really upset with her. She is paired with Lieutenant Quaid Raven. She immediately recognizes him as Thomas Oliver, son of a billionaire who was kidnapped when he was sixteen and never found. Recently his younger sister, Jennifer was also kidnapped and is missing. She recognizes him because she and her best friend had a crush on him when he was sixteen and looked at his pictures almost constantly. This time, she needs a look from him and does not blurt out that he is Thomas Oliver. Quaid ran away at sixteen to get away from an abusive mother. She was horrible to him and his sisters as children, mostly towards him. However, the competition takes place in Manga so they should be fine. maybe.
OK, I realize that Anna was supposed to be this super-sunshine person, but to me she came across as ditzy and childish for a good portion of the book. She didn’t contribute anything to the mountain-cave search/quest at all. And I also have to admit that I cringed at all the goofy pet names (esp ‘lover lips’), and couldn’t see a Navy SEAL getting into that, either. A good chunk of the book was essentially ‘forced proximity’ (which is not my favorite trope) and I got a little bored in the middle section, as it became a series of repeat thoughts about how Quaid might be putting her at risk and couldn’t stay with her, and how much she loved him. At least he did tell her why he couldn’t be with her (his backstory) … and that’s where the story started to get interesting. I won’t say more so I don’t spoil it, but I will say the last 15% of the book made the reading time worth it. A satisfying, if somewhat rushed, and happy ending. The writing was mechanically sound and it was well edited.
I loved the story, characters, plot and settings. I didn't love the references to characters I didn't know without links to follow. I didn't love not knowing how to find the sister's story (if she has one? She's a significant secondary and their are hints about her own romance...) Overall, I'm taking a star because of the number of references to other books without supporting links. However, the primary story itself is good and has an HEA. So, I recommend reading while being aware of the ending implications & hint's ability to take away from the overall satisfaction of reading this delightful, joyous story. -ncv
I have enjoyed this series so far but hated the over use of nicknames in this book. I liked that Anna relied on prayers and had a comfortable relationship with God. But instead of her character being strong throughout, she sounded like a simmering airhead for 3/4 of the story. Books 1-3 had a strong storyline and lots of twists and turns. Book 4 had a storyline but it was weak and focused more on who could come up with the most silly sounding nicknames. I hope future books reverts back to strong characters and exciting twists and turns.
Amazing story that captured my interest right away. Quaid fights his attraction to Anna to try to protect her. I love Anna’s sunshine, positive attitude, along with her absolute faith in God. The nicknames are hilarious and had me chuckling out loud. Wonderful characters and storyline as are all the others in this series.couldn’t put it down. I received a complimentary copy of this book and this is my voluntary, honest review.
Cami does it again! Just when you think the chance for charity series can’t get any better she hits you with a whopper. Quaid and Anna are paired up to win money, she for her children’s charity he to protect his sister. Quaid has been living with an alias after he escaped his horrific childhood. Somehow while doing the challenge his sadistic mother finds him and wreaks havoc on the challenge. Lots of adventure and edge of your seat tension in this one.
How fun to revisit the country of Augustine, nestled in the mountains between Switzerland, Austria, and Germany for the next reality show for charity. Quaid and Anna have six days in the mountains to find 10 caves and complete the quest. Of course there is lots of romance and tons of suspense in this story along with some favorite characters from Augustine.
I just didn’t feel the romance in this book at all, it felt very rushed. There was lots and lots of thinking about the man’s body, and her personality, it was just very contrived. I also felt no tension or concern for their characters safety, it just wasn’t written well enough for emotions to be involved. All in all I’d say I was disappointed.
I haven't read the other three in the series but I was so engaged in this story. Chatty Anna and stoic Quaid's interplay was fascinating to watch. She's full of sunshine and faith and he is broken from trauma but opens his closed-off heart to her. I love the plot twists and the conclusion was wonderful. Faith-filled but not preachy. I'll be looking to read the rest of the series.
Oh, oh, oh! What an interesting and suspenseful story. Anna is on the reality show for her charity helping young children. Quaid is her partner but has a terrible past he is running from. This is just so interesting to read.
I loved this thrilling book filled with mystery and twists and turns. Having the main characters try to complete the improbable task while simultaneously being on the run kept me focused on the storyline.
This story starts out comfortably with getting to know the characters. The ending is wild. The journey was a full roller coaster of emotions and physical grit.
I love Quaid and Anna! It helps that I’m also a preschool teacher! Anna’s nicknames and love for everyone was admirable! I also loved their banter! Quaid’s family-two thumbs down.
I really enjoy this series and really all of your books. The only thing that bothers me is how you a magazine a clip. That is incorrect. When you are loading a semi auto hand gun they are magazines or mags for short.
2 people who were strangers. They quickly became closer as danger lurked everywhere. A must read for those adventurous ones who also love romance. Real life heroes and danger abounding.
Oh my this man, son, probably felt like he had been what we think hell would be like. His mother is the meanest mother (woman) I have ever read about. What she did to her children is unbelievable. Continue to read these great books. Off to the next one.
Quaid and Anna’s story was absolutely incredible and amazing. I loved it. I know if you read it you will not be disappointed. This was one you will not be able to put down. I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
Cami Checketts did a good job. Anna and Quaid are great as the main characters. There is romance, intrigue, ugliness, and much more in this fiction. Jeanette Stracner
All of these “Impossible” books make my heart race! They are intriguing and full of mystery, danger, and with a storyline that helps them overcome something in their life to make them whole again, and able to have faith, and be filled with love.
I really believe that this the best book of the series. Be ready be sit on the edge of your chair. This is a roller coaster ride from the start to the finish.
A great book with a lot of laughter about the silly made up slogans and funny terms. There were some sad parts but overall it was a great book to read. The book is a clean Christian book.
I began reading this book just to enjoy a light-hearted, typical romance, but the further I read, the more depth I found. I enjoyed the character development, the romance, and the unexpected plot.
Maybe Anna is too sunny, Quaid is too hunky, and Mrs. Oliver is too evil, but the story is still engrossing, and I appreciate the importance that faith plays in the outcome.
