New York City in the 1980s was a cesspool of corruption, violence and drugs. In a city gripped by fear, one man took it upon himself to bring order to the chaos, all while building an empire that would span the entire state. His name was Walter King, and the only thing more legendary than his reign was the path he blazed in his rise to the top of the underworld.
An homage to the great gangster stories of old, House of King tells the tale of one man's meteoric rise from obscurity to sitting on the throne of New York's most powerful criminal organization. With his enemies seeking to overthrow him from all sides and at any cost, Walter discovers the only thing harder than seizing the crown is keeping it.
You did a good job this book was different and I liked it. Now I like the way they underestimate Rock. He had altogether became the King and handle his business, I hate to see him kill his best friend. Whatever happen to his mom, and best friends wife. Well we will never know. Great read.
I really enjoyed reading this book I really liked the story and it was steady throughout. The characters were really interesting haven’t read one like this in a while so I enjoyed it!
This book was a page turner. The main character was nothing but the truth. Dome grammatical errors, but they didn't take away from the storyline. I've never read anything by this author.
Y’all this book was so so good. 😳if you like mafia but make it black yes, this book will make you think about some things. When Walter king said in this business two thing are certain ,one there no such thing as a dead issue only a sleeping one and two, nothing left in the past, it just ain’t caught up to yet. Wow big facts. Killing his best friend of 20 year and then having to tell his pregnant girlfriend was so saddening to me.
