When Little Miss Sunshine and a Hot, Grumpy Rancher are forced to live together, what could possibly go wrong?

To the small town of Landmark Mountain, Callum Landmark is a man of few words and considered to be the family grump. Uninvited and unexpected, I crash into his world like a wrecking ball and disrupt the delicate balance of his carefully constructed existence.

Forced to live together due to my life’s unexpected adventure, I find that the more time I spend with him, the more I see beneath his impenetrable exterior and into the heart of the man that not many are privileged to witness.

And against all odds, that vulnerability draws me in, tugging at the strings of my heart with an undeniable force. Coupled with his love for animals—nothing could be more charming than to watch this sexy, rugged rancher and animal whisperer at work.

But our connection is forged at the worst possible timing. I’m running from past mistakes, and meeting Callum has me jumping headfirst into a whirlwind of new complications. Yet, I can't resist his allure and the sizzling tension between us.

As I navigate the twists and turns of my new life in this quaint town, I can't help but wonder if falling for Callum might be the most unpredictable adventure of all.

Falling is book four in the standalone Landmark Mountain series.

I love the grumpy x sunshine trope, and Callum and Ruby make a nice pair. I really enjoyed the first part of the book, but after about 35%, it just didn’t hold my interest anymore.

This review is for me and fellow readers and is not meant as an insult to the author or any fans of this book!!

I NEVER thought I’d say this - but these main characters are too stupid to live!

It was going fine (maybe around a 3 star read) until about 75 or 80% - that is when the fmc ex fiancé threatened to blow up a bunch of animals if she didn’t marry him. And instead of reacting normally (calling the police and confiding in her husband) she freaks out and tells her husband they need to get an annulment and pushes him away, refusing to let him help in this f-ed up situation.

That whole part was SO out of left field I’m still spinning. It was just a fluffy romance until then? Why did this have to happen?

Of course she doesn’t marry her ex, but when the situation is “resolved” (NOT by her I might add) she’s all of a sudden insecure when her husband is acting distant….idk, maybe he’s upset you tried to get rid of him?!

I just can’t anymore. Im at 90% but I’m marking it as finished because of the amount of brain cells I lost reading this.

- Grumpy X Sunshine
- Small Town
- Age Gap
- Runaway Bride
- Close Proximity

This is the fourth book in the Landmark Mountain series and can be read as a standalone, but I would recommend starting for the beginning.

The entire Landmark family is amazing so it’s really no surprise that I absolutely loved this book. Callum Landmark is the quiet, broody, grumpy one of the family, but underneath it all he is a big teddy bear and that seems to be my kryptonite lately. He is everything, the way he cares for Ruby is everything, this entire book is everything.

Thank you to ValentinePR and the author for an eARC in exchange for my honest review.

Gah I love this series so freaking much. Every time I finish a new one I think I have a new favorite couple, but you guys, Callum is everything omg. Ruby is a legitimate runaway bride and I loved her instantly, she is pure sunshine and light and Callum is her polar opposite. He’s grumpy, quiet and gives off all the dark and broody vibes but Ruby brings out a different side to him that was beyond adorable. Other tropes include small town, forced proximity, and age gap and they all made for a delicious combination. I loved the deep emotional connection these two shared and it was just too sweet watching Ruby and Callum fall in love. Such a sexy and cute addition to an amazing series, I can’t believe the next book is the last!

Am I melting? Yup, I am a puddle for Callum.

Ruby is on the run after finding out her fiance is not who she thought. When she finds herself in a ditch just down the mountain from her uncle, he calls in a favor and asks Callum Landmark to help her. Thus comes Callum the protector. 🫠🫠

Callum is a protector through and through. He is the top tier, and I could not get over his protectiveness. When Ruby needs a place to stay, he lets her into his home and his heart. The Landmark men fall hard and fast, and I love every moment of it.

There is one big surprise in this book that I FREAKING LOVED. You will know it when you get to it.

Peppered into this story is Dolly, Irene, Delphine, and the rest of the animals at Callum's and Ruby's farms. They added such color and vibrance to the story, and I just about died over the cuteness.

Thank you so much to Willow and @valentine_pr_ for an early copy of Falling

“I never knew how it felt to be loved like this.”

5 swoon-filled stars!

The fourth book in the Landmark Mountain series, this is a beautifully romantic grumpy/sunshine, (not-so-forced) close proximity romance that is sweet, sexy and swoony with all the feels. Callum and Ruby’s story absolutely stole my heart, and I loved this book so much!

Callum is the quiet member of the Landmark family. A dairy farmer with a soft spot for his animals, he does have grumpy loner tendencies but he’s a sweet man with a heart of gold, he just prefers to keep to himself.

Ruby is on the run from a disastrous near-miss wedding, and she’s escaping to the small town of Landmark Mountain when she runs into trouble. It’s Callum that comes to her rescue, and being the big-hearted guy that he is, he gives her a place to stay in the middle of a snowstorm, having no idea just how significantly she is about to upend his life.

OMG, the chemistry between these two is sizzling! Their attraction is strong from the beginning, but they keep their distance, staying friendly, caring for their animals, and getting to know each other in a way they haven’t opened up to anybody else in years. The grow comfortable with each other, and as they settle in together, they can’t hide their growing attraction.

He sets the mug down and has a ring of whipped cream over his top lip.
I don’t know what comes over me.
He just looks so unbelievably cute.
I lean over and wipe the whipped cream off with my thumb and then lick it clean. His eyes dilate, his tongue coming out to swipe over his lips.
“I just forget everything thought I’ve ever had,” he says gruffly.

The emotion is beautiful, and their coming together is fun, sexy and sweet. They are so open and honest with each other about everything, and we get to see a vulnerability to Callum that is completely irresistible. I loved seeing them come together!

“I don’t want you to regret me, Ruby.”
“That would never,
ever happen.”

They fall hard, fast, and completely, and I was swept up in a world of swoon. They hold nothing back and dive on in with hearts wide open, and OMG, it’s so, so beautiful!

“When it comes to you, I think the only thing that could scare me is if you weren’t feeling the same way as I am, which is something so fucking big, I can’t put it into words.”

There are some surprises in store with these two, and I was right there with them through all of it, loving every moment. There is some drama, but it’s realistic to their situation and works to show the strength of their connection while bringing some intensity to the story.

“What I’m feeling is unlike anything I’ve ever felt before. It might be crazy, but if it is, I want to fall back into it and let it carry me away.”

Callum’s family are a big part of the story. I loved seeing them again, and loved watching them welcome Ruby into the fold, while they all eagerly watch the relationship with great interest and lots of teasing. It’s so entertaining seeing them all together, and I’m loving this series so much.

Such a beautiful, emotional love story, I adored every moment.

this was very cheesy and not what i expected. 3 stars for Callum

💗 small town
💗 runaway bride
💗 age gap (9 yrs)
💗 forced proximity
💗 grumpy x sunshine
💗 secret wedding

on the day of her wedding she overhears her soon to be husband talking bad about her and bolts. she makes her way to Landmark Mountain where her uncle lives but she wrecks her rv and Callum comes to the rescue.

it’s been a while since i read this series so i couldn’t really remember much about Callum but him being a grumpy loner fit my very scarce memories. i love that he’s only soft & sweet for her 🥺 he loves his family but there’s just something about the grumpy man being down so bad for a woman that will get me every time!

i didn’t like how fast this book was. she just left her fiancé at the altar and literally crashed her way into Callum’s life. now i’m all about her meshing well with his family and community but damn. i think it was two weeks and everyone was thinking of her as family and they were together already. and sure he knows her uncle but he doesn’t know Ruby but just immediately opens his home to her for practically as along as she wants.

they’re together maybe a week before they’re saying i love you and getting married in secret. now when you know, you know BUT the girl was about to get married less than a month ago ???? i feel like there should have been more time there

also the third act that’s not really a third act was dumb. how old are these people and how do none of them have common sense. she heard Junior say “as soon as we say i do” the land is his….but she leaves so they never said “i do” like it was just so dumb. and she just thinks bc he signed something saying that when they’re married the land is his BUT SHE DIDNT MARRY HIM?? and then to tell Callum they may need an annulment…. dear lord. at least they have a judge in the family and Sutton knew something was fishy…

her parents also pissed me off. could it be more obvious they don’t care about their daughter or their animals/land. all they cared about is living their best life traveling in their rv and Ruby thought they were just oblivious

I have been waiting the longest for Callum, because the grumpy rancher stole my heart from the first grumbly thing he ever said! Ruby crashed into his life with her emu and nothing was the same for him lol these two animal lovers hit it off and I lived for the animal hilarity and sweetness 🤭🤣

I loved this story it was sweet and spicy, which I could have just come to expect and love from Willow. I highly recommend you give this one a try if you like small town and grumpy sunshine romances!

I don't think this series, or this author, are for me. Once again, it fell flat and there is literally no depth. It's just a instalove story with rainbows and unicorns and nothing really goes wrong and then a happy ending. I need MORE. I guess for escapism, you might enjoy it but I'm not.

Oh how I love Willow Aster, let me count the ways. Every time I finish a book from this series, I think I’ve found my favorite couple and then the next book comes out and I’m floored all over again.

Falling starts out with our heroine’s big day. She’s holding back happy tears. Everything is perfect as Ruby gets ready for her wedding. Nothing can bring her back down to earth. Until she rushes to her fiancé in excitement… and finds him snickering with his friends behind her back. Telling them that their nuptials will only last a year. Insinuating that marrying her is bearable because she’s a good lay. Calling Dolly an idiot.

In light of the horrid things she’s hearing, she doesn’t hesitate for a second. Without even stopping to take her wedding dress off, she throws what she can carry into her camper, kidnaps her beloved Dolly, and gets the heck of there. She’s so close to her destination when her plans are foiled by slippery winter roads. All made more frantic by the fact that she has Dolly with her. She calls her uncle to rescue them from a ditch, but it turns out he was surprising her at her wedding. The same wedding that is currently in shambles as they desperately look for the missing bride, but he won’t leave her stranded there.

Callum’s day takes an interesting turn when gets a panicked call from a friend. Pierre’s niece is stuck in a ditch and he’s miles away. Callum jumps to the rescue and arrives to find a tearful woman in a wedding dress. Only she’s not alone. She’s endearingly sweet, a bit of a walking disaster, and refuses to separate from her friend, so he invites both girls to his home. It’ll only be temporary until Pierre can get home. It seems like a simple task, but his life is turned upside down when his peaceful routine is interrupted. The girls add a splash of color to his life that he wasn’t expecting.

And they weasel into his heart almost immediately.

Callum and Ruby are so precious together. Callum has a reputation of being a grump, but he’s such a softy for Ruby. She’s everything that Callum is not and from the moment these two meet there’s something there. I was feral for all the sweet moments between them and wanted them to give into their insta lust .5 seconds after meeting. I was just as nosy as Callum’s teasing family, and loved every second of their blooming relationship.

Their love story is so smooth that I actually looked at the corner of my kindle in alarm when everything was blissfully happy at 65%. There’s no feeling quite like the fear that seeps into your bones when there’s too much book left after you’ve already reached what you think is the happy ending. Thankfully the turmoil that ensued afterwards wasn’t horrible and the real happy ending was entirely worth it.

This book was blissfully sweet. I loved that it didn’t need over the top drama to be interesting. I was fully invested in their relationship from the start and it held my attention the entire time.

A huge huge hugeeeee thank you to the team at Valentine PR for the eARC. I would have read it regardless, but I’m so lucky to receive it early. I’m genuinely so in love with this series! And I swear each book just gets better and better. Daddy Sutton’s book is going to have me in a chokehold. I just know it. He started talking about hiring a nanny at the end of this one and I MELTED. Overbearing single dad romance? Sign me up!

Falling is book 4 of the Landmark Mountain series, and we finally get Callum’s story!
Callum, the silent, grumpy one (we know those are always the best ones!!) meets Ruby, who is stranded with her RV on his land, and is wearing a wedding dress…

After overhearing her fiancé say awful things about her the day of their wedding, Ruby runs away in her RV to go to her uncle’s, who lives in Landmarck… but when she gets there her uncle is not home and her RV breaks down on Callum’s property.
Callum offers her to stay the night… and the night turns into a few weeks… and then the rest in history…and there are cows, goats and…. emus!!

CALLUM FREAKING HENRY LANDMARK is everything a girl can dream of!! He’s the typical silent one who speaks in grunts, that hides everything and when he opens up….. urgh, I was a goner!! And don’t get me started on CALLUM IN THE BEDROOM!!!! (yes, this needed caps!!)

"It's the quiet ones that knock us off our feet, isn't it Lar."

I love all the Landmark brothers but Callum is my favorite for now!!
Next and last is Sutton… we’ll see if he can beat Callum.

Also, can we get Grinny and Papi story??? I’ll take a short novella too!

Falling is book #4 in the Landmark Mountain series. I love this series so much! This book has moved to the top of the list of my favorite one of the series. Callum & Ruby are absolutely EVERYTHING. Ruby is a runaway bride. Callum ends up rescuing Ruby (and her emu, Dolly!) after her RV died during her escape. She is 100% sunshine and he's always been a grump. He becomes a big softy for her though! Their emotional connection is so strong. Their love was just so real. He's so protective of her and he falls hard. I absolutely love them together. Literal perfection. I also love seeing Callum's family dynamic - his family is SO wonderful and accepted Ruby right into their lives. I finished this book in less than 24 hours because I just couldn't put it down. Such a great read.

⭐runaway bride

⭐forced proximity

"They're like a sexy band of lumberjack brothers."

"I think I'm one of the few people who saw Ruby in her wedding dress" "And that image will be imprinted in my mind forever."

Thank you SO much to Valentine PR & Willow Aster for this ARC. This is my honest review.

I have absolutely fallen in love with the Landmark siblings and this book is no exception. To be honest, Callum has surpassed the rest of the Landmark crew as my new favorite member! It’s always the quiet ones, am I right?!

After finding out that her fiancé is literal trash, Ruby runs away from her wedding and her life and heads toward Landmark Mountain to be with her uncle. When her uncle is out of town, he finds a local, aka Callum, who is willing to let her stay with him temporarily.

Callum is essentially a homebody who doesn’t want to converse with anyone more than he has to. But he immediately takes to Ruby and while their connection is slow going, it is there. And it is absolutely beautiful.

I truly loved these two so much! And I loved how Callum accepted Ruby exactly how she was, which is not something her ex did. I loved every scene with Dolly, Irene, and Delphine!

Now I CANNOT wait for Sutton’s story!! His single dad book is going to be amazing.

I simply adore Callum and Ruby.

Callum Landmark is one delicious hunk of grumpy Landmark sibling, and the last thing he's expecting is Ruby Sunshine Jones to come whirling into his life like a tornado on heels. She's a stranded runaway bride with an RV and pet in tow, and Callum offers to put her up for a short time to get back on her feet. Living in such close proximity, Callum's grumpy rancher vibe has no hope of withstanding the girl who personifies her middle name. Ruby is full of life and adventure, and it's so much fun watching her pull Callum out of his shell.

Of course, my heart also melted over the fact that Callum is so good with animals. Throw in a sassy cow and goat, and this book had me smiling non-stop! Callum has always been protective over his family and his animals, and soon enough, Ruby and Dolly (her own protective guard dog of sorts) manage to find themselves among that protected group.

Callum and Ruby fall fast, but those Landmarks are known for falling fast and hard. That doesn't make the journey any less enjoyable. I loved all of the appearances by the Landmark family and townspeople. This is such a cozy and fun series with such wonderful characters. I am so excited to see what's in store for Sutton!!

Favorite of the series so far! I adored Callum and Ruby. They were so cute and sweet and just the perfect amount of steam. And don't even get me started on Dolly, Delphine and Irene . . . those three girls are just the cutest. I loved how sweet Callum and Ruby were together. I loved how the grump softened so much for Ruby. Just loved them so much.

Even though I just knew that Callum had a soft heart, he still managed to surprise me several times. He’s gruff and comes off at grumpy, but I think he’s also a guy who just wants someone to love him for him. He’s a tad bossy, a lot protective, and when he falls, he falls fast.

Luckily, the same can be said about Ruby. She’s smart, stubborn, kind, and clearly isn’t afraid of some hard work. And even if it seems like maybe not the best time, Ruby knows she’s never truly loved before. Callum knows he hasn’t either. So it’s fun to fall with these two as they find their way.

Between the animals, the family, the ex from a dark and hot place, and absent parents that look a whole lot worse in the light of day, this is very much a story I simply could not put down. Yeah, Callum and Ruby may fall fast. But sometimes, that’s the best way to fall. So enjoy your time with this family once again and try to be more patient than I’m being about Sutton’s story. Try being the key word.

I LOVE LANDMARK MOUNTAIN SO MUCH! I was so excited to dive into this book!

Callum & Ruby did no disappoint!

Grumpy Callum immediately has my heart and sunshine Ruby had me laughing out loud!

I love how Ruby didn’t let Callums grumpy exterior keep her from being true to herself and getting to know him. The way their relationship progressed and Callum came around and was so supportive of Ruby. I adored their relationship and how she opened up to him! The way they she built friendships and found herself loving his family 🥹. The way that Callum becomes a complete softy for her and is willing to risk it all for her ❤️‍🔥

Oh my goodness Willow. The way i loved this book. From start to end and everything In between. I always love an age gap, grumpy/sunshine. Callum of course is the big broody man that steals my heart. Yet Ruby and her pet emo Dolly truly steal the show. I now need to raise a baby emu, even tho birds scare the living poop out of me.

"I think it should be obvious that i want you intruding on my everything."

Ruby is about to marry someone when she over hears him saying some horrible things about her. She decided to run to Landmark Mountain. In search for her uncle she gets her RV stuck in the snow. In no other than Callum Landmarks property. He is a dairy farmer whose vocabulary is mainly grunts. So her and her emu Ruby stay with him in all of their sunshiny glory.

from the moment i started reading this book i was transported to this serene small town. i felt a sense of comfort and somehow knew this book was going to be special and leave a lasting impression.

this was my first book by willow aster and i can say with absolute certainty that it won’t be my last. i fell so hard for ruby and callum, the landmark family, and the people of landmark. this book was so good and it filled me with so much happiness, i couldn’t contain all the smiles i had while reading.

ruby and callum were the ultimate. the way they came into each others’ lives wasn’t ideal, but it made their story that much more memorable. ruby and callum had amazing chemistry and shared a connection that was both electric and effortless. they complimented each other so well and both brought the other a sense of calmness. i loved them so much and the home they made for themselves and their animals.

falling was a wholesome, feel good, down to earth small town romance with all the feels. this book and everything about it has my whole heart, i just loved it all to pieces. i can’t wait for the next book, but in the meantime i’m going to start from the beginning and fall even more in love one book at a time with the other landmark siblings.

*thank you valentine pr for the arc*
