1 Savage Little Games: A Dark Mafia, Enemies to Lovers Romance (Sin City Mafia Book 1) by Lane Hart (Author) , Wander Aguiar (Photographer) 4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars 3,688 4.0 on Goodreads 3,705 ratings In an ironic twist of fate, I’ve found myself entangled in Dante Salvato's world. The ruthless mafia king is no stranger to violence; but when he lays his eyes on my bruised and battered face, he’s furious.
I thought my makeup was thick enough to cover the beating I suffered until my inappropriately flirtatious boss noticed. As a cocktail waitress in his casino, I’ve always been on Mr. Salvato’s radar, but now he’s obsessed, demanding to know who hurt me and why, intent on making them suffer.
When Dante discovers that my boyfriend Mitch not only owes money to another vicious Vegas mobster but is also cheating on me, he offers him one hell of a deal – Dante will pay off Mitch’s debt in exchange for the one thing he wants more than anything – me.
Dante’s offer requires me to spend the next seventy-six days and nights with him, one for every thousand dollars of Mitch’s debt. When I refuse, Dante promises to kill Mitch right then and there for being the one ultimately responsible for my bruises.
Desperate to avoid bloodshed even after I’ve seen the evidence of Mitch’s betrayal, I reluctantly accept Dante’s deal with one stipulation. I warn the arrogant bastard that I will never, under any circumstance, sleep with him.
Now I just have to resist the mob boss for seventy-six days and nights while he uses every weapon in his arsenal to try and change my mind.

This is a Dark Mafia Romantic Suspense, and this is the first book in the Sin City Mafia series. This book has several things in it that could trigger or upset a reader, and this type of book is not for everyone. I got pulled into the story from the first page, and I think this is a great start to a new mafia series. I cannot wait to read the second book in this series. This book has so much going on and keeps you guessing, but it is done so well. There are some spicy and steamy times in this book. I love the connection you can feel for the two main characters. The ending of this book really blew me away, and I really did not see it coming. Great Read. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.
I didn’t particularly like Vanessa. I absolutely hated Dante. And yet, I couldn’t stop reading.
MAIN CHARACTER NAMES AND AGES Vanessa Brooks (~36) | Dante Salvato (45)
FEATURES ∘ mafia romance ∘ contractual agreement ∘ one-sided hate ∘ two-sided desperation ∘ boss/employee
REVIEW The storytelling of this novel was so immersive that even when I wanted to choke the characters for being fickle (Vanessa), being an asshole (Dante), or being annoying (both), I was having a grand ole time.
Their antics may have been juvenile, but I loved the jealousy and tension from both of them. They each were playing the same game, the other confident in their ability to win. Of course, whatever Dante wants he gets, although Vanessa did put up a fight (barely).
Dante was a garbage human being. Not just in his horrible actions, but also in his false sanctimony. He thinks that not hitting women makes up for how he treats them—including Vanessa. He trades notoriously harmful drugs (fentanyl), while also employing and befriending Eli, who does despicable things in the name of torture. Dante is a mobster, so of course he’s not going to be an outstandingly good person; I wasn’t holding him to any standard. I just wasn’t buying his self-righteous attitude, but I don’t think the author expected us to.
My feelings on Vanessa are conflicted. On the one hand, she’s been in situations that have seriously harmed her self-esteem and self-worth, and there is always sympathy there. But on the other hand, she suffered from the same moral superiority that Dante did even though her morals weren’t any better. Almost every single thing she got mad at him for, she was also guilty of. She was treated as someone with wisdom from her life experiences, but she kept making poor decisions/behaviors or excusing the poor decisions/behaviors of others. I don’t know if she was soft-hearted or cutthroat, as she seemingly bounced back and forth.
There was foreshadowing throughout that hinted at various plot points that ~maybe~ were a little obvious, yet that didn’t take away from any of the twists or revelations.
Savage Little Games was the perfect setup for the rest of the series. It seamlessly introduced characters and established the setting in a way that is going to help future books while also not taking away from its own. Lane Hart has written a world I wasn’t ready to leave. Even with my qualms, I couldn’t stop turning the page.

❥ 𝑽𝒂𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒂 She was stubborn and just so cool. I liked the way she stood up against Dante and has a backbone.
❥ 𝑫𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒆 He was cute but at the same time a big asshole. Dante is the typical hot, possessive mafia boss and I loved him.
✥ 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒐𝒐𝒌 This was the best mafia romance I read in a while. The story was thrilling and gripping and I read the whole book in one afternoon. Vanessa and Dante had great tension and I liked their little battles. Both are strong willed characters and they meet each other at eye level. Still I didn‘t like how Dante treats his daughters. I know mob life is hard but these are his daughters? A little love wouldn‘t hurt anyone. Vanessa opened up his eyes about the unfairness he treats his daughters with and I rooted for her. These girls deserve the world! I think Vanessa and Dante fit well with each other and I liked that both of them aren’t perfect. The plot was interesting and the plottwist was wow. I kinda expected it, but not in the way the whole thing turned out. Well done! Overall this was an amazing mafia romance with good smut and likeable characters. I‘m curious to find out about Lochlan and Sophie’s story in the next book.
The story behind this was okay, and could have been written in half the pages used. 50% was just nonsense and smut, that ruined the story. I would have liked to read the next two books. To see how the characters life in them pan out. But not prepared to flip through most of the smut probably written . Shame could have been a decent series. This author is definitely not for me.
I sincerely hope not! I don’t know if I have ever read such trash. DNU read the beginning hoping the story would get better. Skipped to the end to see what this disaster would be like only to find out that it was a cliff hanger! First there was wayyyyyyy to much profanity and I mean unnecessary cursing. His kids were foul mouth and I won’t say young ladies either. She was 36 but had a 24 year old son at college😑so I am like I know I have been out of school a while but this math ain’t mathing she would have been 12 giving birth. Then in the next sentence her son is 20. 😩This is fiction people if you gone write a story for characters approaching middle age please mature them. He was in his 40’s and still running around sorting wild oats like he was in his teens or 20’s. So disappointed with this story it had the makings to be great. Who doesn’t love a strong alpha mafia dude that comes off in control and not to be messed with. Vanessa also could have been a great character too;strong but vulnerable. Her age was throwing me off it just didn’t add up.
It's just my preference but when the main MMC has slept with everyone at work it just doesn't feel the same. Plus he's a douche asking the FMC to sit on his c**k

Savage Little Games is a new dark mafia, enemies to lovers romance that definitely does not disappoint. Dante Salvato is used to getting what he wants, and what he wants is Vanessa. When the opportune moment presents itself for him to achieve that goal, he doesn’t hesitate to make a deal to get her. What he doesn’t know is that Vanessa has her own agenda. This book is full of steam, undeniable passion, plot twists, interesting characters, and an ending that have you wanting more. You will definitely be on the edge of your seat wanting more. I am eagerly anticipating the next book in this series.
I should have loved this book, but it was neither dumb enough to have fun nor good enough for me to fully believe the plot points or care about the characters.
The plot twist was seen a mile away and I could have forgiven it if our mains didn't act like teenagers at the age of 36 and 45. The reasoning behind her not putting out for their 4 years and some change is really weird after the 20-year ago issue, especially after he explains everything. The spice isn't believable either. Suddenly, she's chill with exhibitionism. Sure Jan.
If you like genre typical mafia romances, you might like this. Wish it was better or way dumber...
Vegas mob boss manipulates casino cocktail waitress into indentured servitude because she won’t sleep with him. Don’t TELL him it was manipulation though, he doesn’t like that word very much.
You get what’s on the tin, with very simplistic writing. I had a lot of fun and I definitely had to pretend like I didn’t just read that more than once. There is not a single realistic thing about the smut in this book and I made a lot of terrible faces, however, I genuinely enjoyed the storyline and was clutching my pearls at the big reveal.
Do I recommend this? No. Will I happily read the next one because I love trashy mafia books? Yes. Thanks bye.
Savage Little Games is a spicy, twisted, and dark ride! Dante and Vanessa have such great chemistry from start to finish. I didn't want to put their action-packed story down for a second. I can't wait to find out what is coming next in the series!

“Really, Mom? That’s the equivalent of saying that a girl was asking for it when she wore a short skirt and got assaulted. Dante made his own choices, sure, but he’s not responsible for how others reacted to those choices.”
Umm this pissed me off and the ick was irreversible from that point onwards.
I didn't really like Vanessa, she got on my nerves and I felt like she just kept repeating the same BS. I was a big fan of the supporting characters and can't wait for the other books!
why make the MMC a sexist gross sleaze-ball with an ego far bigger than what’s in his pants?? we have enough men like that in the real world… DNF at page 11 lol
I take it back. The only thing worse than fantasy/romantacy FMCs being clueless about fantastical realms are contemporary FMCs who think their mafia don quasi-lovers don’t go around unaliving scumbags.
DNF’ing at page 270 - 71% in - because I had such high hopes for a 36 year old FMC, but she’s more wishy washy than any teenager.
Unsure if this is the first book in a new series but I loved it. The characters were well written. Mafia enemies to lovers with the perfect amount of twists and turns. It had the perfect amount of drama. I felt like I was finally reading something different in the genre. Can’t wait until the next book.

This book was good. I mean unbelievably good. Dante is a very hot mob boss who wants one thing. Vanessa. This is part one I can't say much more or it will be a spoiler. But its hot. Lane Hart know how to write about hot men. I can't wait to read part two.
I neither hated or loved this. I didn’t particularly care much for either MMC or FMC because for a majority of the book I felt like the author wrote the MMC as if they actually did hate him, which was weird. The FMC just screamed “I’m a bitter old hag” for at least the first half. Admittedly she got a little better once she was put into her place by the doctor who told her to get off her high horse.
I don’t know why, but the fact that the reference “gangster” was used at least 14 times was such a turn off me in a mafia world setting. I equivalent gangsters or thugs to lower level criminals, not to describe a mafia boss but I guess this is just a personal preference.
Anywhoooooo…. If you want high sexual tension, a lot of spice, forced proximity, manipulation, mafia then I’d say give it a shot. I did appreciate that the FMC/MMC were both in their 30’s/40’s. Oh and also, the MMC’s D is described as thick as a soda can so do with that what you will.
Sadly has to DNF. The writing wasn’t great in the first 10 percent of the book and the nickname “butterfly” gave me the ick, but the final straw was the MMC having d that was “thick as a can of coke” while at rest. Cmon dude. That sounds like a good time for nobody.
KU. March Reads. Contemporary Romance. Tropes: Crime/Mafia, RomCom, Female Abuse, Single Parent/Child(ren), Mature Romance (35+), Forced Proximity. MC's h. Vanessa Brooks (Van) (butterfly),36, 5' blonde and curvy, single mom, son Colton 20 (college), ex boyfriend Mitch owed Russian Mob 76,000. His second is Eli and another close associate is Titus. Dante has always tried to convince Vanessa (Butterfly) to sleep with him and she always turns him down. He has a temper but one good thing, he doesn't tolerate violence to women. ****************************************************************************** Comments: Lane Hart is a new author to me. So far I am enjoying the book. Even though there is a lot of violence there is still some humor between the relationship of the two MC's. I was laughing because Dante's patience is wearing thin but he doesn't want to force Vanessa or turn her away. She basically is calling the shots but he is slowly wearing her resolve and constantly looking for ways to wear her down to his way of thinking. Vanessa has a secret that she has been hiding for 20 years. In the end Dante swoops in to save his damsel in distress. There are some voyeur sex scenes that some might find offensive. Stay tuned for the next story about Lochlan (Irish Mob Boss) and Dante's daughter Sophia a tennis player. They are getting married apparently. What about Madison and Cole? This mafia story wasn't a cliffhanger like other Mafia stories which was interesting. I gave this 4 stars. ******************************************************************************

Ohhhh yeaaah... this is definitely dark. If you are a fan of possessive, lethal, dangerous Mafia bosses - then this one is for you!
As a fan of this author, I happily grabbed the free ARC when it was available. Dante rules his empire with a firm and unforgiving attitude, but has a soft spot and flirtatious energy with Vanessa.
Vanessa has been keeping a huge secret, while trying to do her best to avoid Dante's lecherous advances. When he finds out she is in danger, he sets out to fix her problems. Of course, nothing is ever easy in this life, and I settled in for the roller coaster ride that this story is... the twists were very entertaining.
The pages turned themselves and I enjoyed all the betrayals, violence, bloodshed, drama, passion and steamy scenes that this talented author always delivers. It was hard to put this one down! I am really excited to see how this storyline is continued.
I happily leave my review, and recommend reading this and anything else from her extensive catalog.
First let me say that I love Lane Hart's books and her writing. I really enjoyed this book. The main characters were so good together. The verbal banter was great. Dante and Vanessa have such good chemistry together. This story made me laugh in parts. Also the Mafia drama was interesting. There is secrets that come to light at the end which were a surprise. I enjoyed seeing the H/h build there relationship and how they came to love each other. The sex is off the charts and a little bit nasty in a good way. This was an overall great read and I really enjoyed it. I would recommend this book to those who like a dark sexy Mafia read.

I really wanted to love this book. And for a good portion, I was able to push through it. But when I got past the 65% mark and the FMC was still acting like a stuck-up, clueless,🫢 ...I was done. Crazy part. That's when the story really picks up. But after reading her character, I lost interest in her getting the HEA. I wasn't crazy about how the MC started, but he developed in the story soooooo amazing. I feel in book love with his ways. But the FMC didn't develop until like 80%, and by that time, you no longer care. No, I don't like pushovers. But I also don't like stupid "strong" people. I'm just not impressed. Shoot, I really didn't even want them to get a HEA 🤦🏾♀️.
