Vegas'ta olan her zaman Vegas’ta kalmayabilirdi…

Bunu biliyordum çünkü eve dönerken parmağımda yepyeni bir yüzük vardı.

Karım kim miydi? Ryan Bell.

TEAGAN HUNTER writes steamy romantic comedies with lots of sarcasm and a side of heart. She loves pizza, hockey, and romance novels, though not in that order. When not writing, you can find her watching entirely too many hours of Supernatural, One Tree Hill, or New Girl. She’s mildly obsessed with Halloween and prefers cooler weather. Mr. Grumpbutt!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙💚🖤💛❤️
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙📔
World building: 🌎🌍🌏🌎🌍
Character development: 🧐😕😍😗

The heroine(s): Ryan Bell (a.k.a. The Beauty Bell) - a beauty influencer and photographer whose boyfriend just texted her that he got someone else pregnant. Ryan is best friends with Harper from Puck Shy who is girlfriend to NHL Hockey player Collin. Ryan and Harper tag along to Vegas with a few guys from the team after the Carolina Comets win the Stanley Cup.

The Hero(s): Adrian “The Beast” Rhodes (a.k.a. Mr. Grumpbutt) - NHL Hockey star, he was nicknamed “The Beast” after his face was slashed with the blade of an ice skate and also because he is the team enforcer. After winning the Cup, he goes to Vegas and finds out his on again off again girlfriend just got engaged to one of his teammates.

The Story: Ryan and Rhodes couldn’t stand each other in Puck Shy, but Rhodes promised Collin he would be nice to her on this trip and the two end up drowning their sorrows together. Which somehow ended up with them going to a chapel, getting married and posting the wedding video online for all to see.

Two of my favorite things are the sports romance and the accidentally married in Vegas trope so I wanted this one from the start. Add in Teagan Hunter’s wit and humor and I expected this to be great from the get go. So how did it hold up to my hopes?

Well first of all. I really liked Rhodes, he is grumpy guy who despite being a pro hockey player, has low self esteem because of his facial scar. He thinks he is ugly and that it is all people see when they look at him. Of course you can see how that might be the case but just today I was reading a story about Michael K. Williams, the actor with a scar from the top of his forehead down the side of his nose to his lower cheek. He got the scar in a barroom brawl at the age of 25 and attributed it for helping him achieve success in Hollywood.

There is humor, romance, and a ton of sexual tension which I love. When Ryan moves in with Rhodes things start to get steamy really fast and the tension amps up quickly. These two have a lot of chemistry and they try to deny it but can’t seem to stay away from each other.

I also loved the Beauty and the Beast tie-ins, with Rhodes being called “The Beast” while he is on the ice and the fact that he has the facial scar which he thinks turned him into a monster, and Ryan being a beauty influencer. It was all woven together so nicely.

I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

this book was okay too not good at all.

I do not know why this book was written so choppy but it took a while to get into it.
I usually love forced proximity because of a marriage and it was fun but I still think the character could have used more depth, especially Ryan.

I loved them when they were living together and had their cute grumpy sunshine moments.
But why why why is there that scene where she watches him in the shower. I find those scenes creepy but maybe that is just me

A fake marriage, grumpy x sunshine, spicy sports romance with a dog and a cat AND great side characters? Literally my perfect book.

The only reason this isn’t getting 5 stars for me is that there was basically zero tension. It was more insta-lust to love, and it was done well, but I wish there was more tension. The conflict which hit towards the very end of the book wasn’t miscommunication (a plus) but it was over in 2 chapters and again, no tension (not a plus).

An accidental Vegas Wedding, marriage of convenience sports romance! This sounded right up my alley and it was! I enjoyed this one so much. I’m loving Teagan Hunter’s hockey romances and this was even better than the first. Ryan and Rhodes have this enemies to lovers start with some grumpy/sunshine thrown in and I was so here for it. I only wish it was a little longer and more developed, it seemed a little rushed to me. Aside from that, I have zero complaints!

What happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay there.

I would know. I’m coming home with a brand-new ring on my finger.

My wife? Ryan Bell.
We’re polar opposites.
She’s sunshine and happiness.
I’m grumpy and scarred—literally.

We could get it annulled and no one would be the wiser.
Only problem? We posted about it online, and it’s already making headlines.

I can’t afford to get that kind of attention and tank my career, and Ryan needs my help too.

We make a plan: stay married for one year, play our roles, and divorce amicably at the end. No harm, no foul.

Besides, there’s no way the beauty is going to fall for the beast…

ME GUSTÓ MUCHO

Fake Romance
Grumpy/Sunshine
Sport Romance
YASSS GURL!!

"Adrian, you're beautiful. Not despite your scar, but because of it.

4.5 stars!

This was my first novel by Teagan Hunter, and it will certainly not be the last! I loved Teagan's easy and humorous writing style; it flowed so well and was so easy to follow along. I also loved the interactions between all of her characters! Each one was unique and hilarious in their own right, and I cannot wait for the rest of the team's stories--especially Miller, the Rookie. The romance between Ryan and Rhodes was so spectacularly sexy, and I'm so glad I took a chance on this book ♡

Edit 5/4/22 - I listned to the audio and I had tears in my eyes because it made me so happy. Highly recommend.

This is my perfect book

Hey! Married in Vegas to my enemy? It's hard to find books to fit my niche trope but, here we are. Literally my perfect book. The book i scour the internet to find, is right here. I heard about this book and grabbed it on release day, but I was scared it would not live up to my hopes for it. IT DID. I'm so happy and giddy right now. All the butterflies in my belly are still fluttering around. I'll probably just start reading it again immediately.

no.

I loved this even more than the first book! Beauty and the Beast retellings are my second favorite of all time, and Rhodes and Ryan are wonderful together. There could have been so much more detail, more attention to her sunshine since it focused mostly on her being a smart ass to Rhodes, and we didn’t see most of her spark from the first book. But their love was very sweet, and I’m glad that Rhodes got the love he deserves.

Ryan'ın anlık duygusal tepkimelerle çektiği fotoğraflar ve Rhodes'in tepkisi güzeldi. İnsanın bazen kendine dışardan bakması gerekiyor gerçektende.

Thank you to my friend Elizabeth who reviewed this which prompted me to read an accidental marriage romance, since I usually avoid them. But I had a good time with Blind Pass! Ryan (h) and Rhodes (H) end up accidentally married in Vegas while each is hurting and after drinking too much. She's a makeup artist and photographer overwhelmed with financial needs and he's a star hockey player whose on and off girlfriend just got engaged, but can't have a scandal with an unintended wedding upend his season. Their decision to stick together for a while to help each other and how that developed made for great banter, a slow-ish burn in the romance department, and less angst than I thought. Written in first person, dual POV. No om drama, a touch of ow drama from H's ex but no interest from him in being with her, and neither were virgins (unknown how long it had been and minimal details of their history).

Ryan is a romantic who's also sassy and Rhodes is a grump, who has some hidden soft parts. There were great friendships, some hilarious family members, adorable pets, and I just loved these two together once they allowed themselves to truly have a relationship and leaned into their attraction. I loved that this couple had some very vulnerable scenes together too, along with some hilarious bonding ones. Also, their physical chemistry was obvious from the first so despite initial rules about no sex happening, it was just themselves that were being fooled. They ended up with some spicy scenes together too.

I didn't love the bit of drama close to the end, but the resolution of it was really sweet and made me smile. I wished it had been resolved a little more quickly though and that communication had been better. The epilogue was a bit of a time jump and was cute for this couple and for book 1's couple. It's more of a HFN ending but you know they'll stay together so a HEA in that sense. There's a hint to the next book in the epilogue and then a preview of that book at the end.

Blind Pass is the story of two people who get accidentally married in Vegas and decide to keep up the ruse so as not to tarnish their public images.
The plot is fast paced and yet the relationship between these two developed slowly. This has a slight Beauty and the Beast storyline to it which would not have been all that obvious if not for multiple references to fairy tales and metaphoric castles. One of the things I liked about Teagan Hunter's writing is that there is a lot of sarcasm and humor filled banter mixed in with the sweet story that is being narrated. The chemistry between Rhodes and Ryan is steamy, emotional and very well done.

The third act conflict felt like it was blown out of proportion and the resolution too was dragged out. Winding up the conflict and the resolution in a matter of maybe two chapters would have been the better way to go. There is also nothing new about the story that makes it stand out much.

Nonetheless this accidental marriage, sports romance is a fun read that you can pick up if you like low angst books.

4.5 stars. Aaaaawwww.

I am loving this series. This felt like a low stress romance that was just fun. These two fall in love on accident but they don’t keep fighting it. It just happens. There’s a little ex-girlfriend drama but no OW/OM.

This is a fun world with great main and side characters. It looks like some characters from other series are in here too so I’m going to be reading this authors backlist.

Yes, Kristina… there are hockey players. At least this guy has a scar so he’s not perfect and because of you, I wondered how many teeth he’s missing. But it was a fun setting.

Blind Pass è un inno all’Amore.
A chi ci crede ogni giorno.

Grumpy, sensuale, sexy, provocatorio, dolce, riflessivo, intelligente e gentiluomo.

Blind Pass is book 2 in the Carolina Comets series. It can be read as a standalone though the Main Characters do have appearances in the previous book.

The story revolves around Rhodes & Ryan and is a grumpy/sunshine hockey romance with the marriage of convenience/accidental marriage trope at the center of it.

Like all of Teagan's stories this was such a quick, easy and fun read. It was flirty, steamy, had a great cast of side characters and the usual charm and wit the author is known for. I loved Rhodes & Ryan together and even though I'm not the biggest fan of the accidental/convenience marriage I am a huge fan of the forced proximity trope which was another key factor in the book. I found myself smiling throughout the book multiple times and even though the story wasn't revolutionary it was an all round good time, these types of stories tend to be comfort reads for me and I can pretty much gobble them up and blind pass really hit the mark. The conflict wasn't my favourite but it felt reasonable and the resolution was done well and I loved the ending.

So far I'm really enjoying this series and can't wait for the next couple and any & all other books in the series.

4 stars. I enjoyed this, and generally liked the MCs more than those from book 1. The same complaints from the previous book apply. I don't like the end of book drama, and I don't like that there were appearances from characters that were from other series.

Safe; no virgins, hero not a manwhore, some OW drama from hero's ex, no cheating, no scenes with om/ow.

this book is my new favorite teagan hunter book! i was so so so ready for ryan and rhodes since PUCK SHY, and it met all of my expectations and more.

i’ve said several times already that i love the scarred hero trope because it always delivers the best emotional scenes, and i love seeing the characters learning to love a part of themselves they usually hate. well, my standard for this trope is high, and it was so. freaking. good!

the beginning of the book was hilarious. getting drunk married in vegas completely fit ryan and rhodes for some reason, and i can’t imagine a better beginning for their love story. i would also consider this book a bit of marriage of convenience since they decide to take advantage of the situation, and seeing them navigating the situation and falling in love at the same time made the entire experience a delight.

i’m really enjoying this series. the characters are so lovable, the friendships are gold and the tropes, so far, have been some of my top favorites. the next book looks amazing already, and i can’t wait to know more!

BLIND PASS comes out next thursday, january 27th. the first book in the series, PUCK SHY, is out now and i’ll use this space to recommend it again!

I don't know why it took me so long to read this. I one clicked it as soon as I finished the other one but then I just never got there. Except I kept getting recommendations for the next book in the series and now I really want to read that one so I finally opened this one and fell madly in love with Rhodes. Ryan was pretty awesome too but it was mainly about Rhodes for me. Great story, great series

4.5 stars - my wife just never gets old

ryan and rhodes have a drunken marriage moment in vegas but when they consider getting divorced, they realize this marriage could be beneficial for both of them.

i LOVE a marriage of convenience and this was such a good read. rhodes is such a grumpy, broken boy who could not imagine ryan loving him back but the constant wife and his obsession with her wearing her ring!!! i love.

This was an EASY 5-star rating for me, one of my new favorites from Hunter. It's a little bit Beauty and the Beast, a little bit Vegas wedding, and a whole lotta light and steamy fun. I loved these two together, and our insecure, vulnerable hero was such a lovable grump. The opposites attract dynamic worked for me, and I always love a fake relationship with a side of forced proximity. While this is second in the series, it easily reads as a standalone - and leaves me wanting more from this group of friends. The story absolutely flew by, and there was never a dull moment for me.

The story follows Ryan (her) and Rhodes (him), two people whose besties are in a relationship. While there might've been some attraction between them when they first met, Rhodes' personality quickly squashed any brewing chemistry. The pro hockey player took a skate to the face years ago, and the scar that remains is both physical and mental. He doesn't believe he'd ever be worthy of a woman like Ryan, but a drunken night in Vegas leaves them married. While neither is quite sure what their drunken selves were thinking, news of their marriage has already gone public - and ending things now would just cause even more trouble. So the two agree to act like a couple for now... even if things start to feel real rather quickly.

While I enjoyed the first book in the series, it was Rhodes who intrigued me the most. I just knew that I was going to love him - and I definitely did. He's a sweetheart underneath his grumpy exterior, a man whose personality changed because of his insecurities. I loved that Rhodes was so immediately smitten with Ryan, and the only thing holding him back from wanting more was himself. This was an extremely low angst, lighthearted read, and the fun, sexy vibes kept me smiling throughout. It was easy to feel the chemistry between these two, and there are a few fan-worthy moments. The story touches on some heavy subjects without ever delving too deep, making it such a light and devourable read. There are enough appearances from Rhodes' teammates to tie the series together (and leaving me wanting more), while also keeping this a standalone romance. I'm definitely looking forward to more from the series, because this was just what I wanted from Hunter. I received an early copy and am voluntarily leaving a review of this steamy sports romance.
