"Two Years: Quest for Money, Purpose, and Love" by Max Tower is an inspiring travel memoir that transcends the conventional narrative of exploration and adventure. Max, a former investment banker who worked in various global financial hubs, embarks on a transformative journey that reshapes his understanding of life's true essences – money, purpose, and love.

This innovative approach adds an extra layer of depth to the narrative, allowing readers to contemplate their own life choices and values.

Two Years emphasizes not only a man's journey around the world but stands out for the astonishing world tour that broadens his mind and adaptability, in simple words he tells us about the deep fulfillment of life.
So true, it's one of the simple yet unique things that we need to explore again.
Need to establish once again. The book is an impeccable setting for finding your happiness, overcoming depression, imbalances in minds and relationships, and solutions of happiness which is a mystery for many people.

One day when Max returned home he was astounded by his mother's words, he realized achieving all the outside world has to offer made our life so small that we became painfully limited in our life, and longing for happiness has become something exhaustive. We are waiting for happiness and forget to look at the right path, the book is an alarm, and it is now time to look inside.

The book doesn't have any formula or struggling method nor does it suggest any lifestyle hack rather it takes us to think, and it gives us a thorough journey that expands our thinking process. It says- Shuts your mind and becoming present in the moment is the solution for your yearning for sustainability and peace. That you can be able to adapt when you are free and close to nature.

Reading real-life struggles and overcoming stories are far more fascinating than any self-help books, isn't it true?
It's enthralling and sheds more impact which is deeply rooted.

The story emphasizes close to home, it can be anyone. The author seamlessly waved his travel journey of two years and you will witness his expedition for a meaningful life. Max Tower is his pen name he chose this name to write his life story. He quit his job in the yearning for something deep and profound, he talks about ego identity and how he removed himself from his previous perspective, it's an enthralling story of discovering new approaches and appreciating the changes in life.

Easy language accompanied by lucid narrative the book is a mind-boggling package of insightful experiences of a journey around the world, heartwarming spiritual exploration, his life journey depicted herein three chapters, Max's Quest for Money, Quest for Purpose, and Quest for Love, that will let you see his life-changing safari.

His life story reflects aspirations, mindfulness, overcoming weakness as well as his ability to scrutinize his own life in front of readers made be amazed.

The influence of this book is opening a door to becoming open-minded, a thought-provoking transformation that will make readers engaged in this book. Literary expeditions of other cultures and lifestyles also will help you to realise what is really important in life, it's an inspiration to open your heart to embrace life as it is not to bound yourself in materialistic happiness.

A compelling read for anyone who loves reading transformational stories.

“Two years: Quest for money, purpose, and love” is a sort of wake-up call book written by Max Tower.
After feeling at a loss and weary with his job, he decided to quit his job and look for a change. He spent two years travelling around the globe, learning about other cultures and listening to himself.
When it comes to rewarding and inspirational stories, I think that this story shows the importance of being brave and taking risks to make a change of heart. Max’s life, in a way, shows the path for people who might feel in a no way-out situation. Along these pages, he shares his whole life which turn out to be a roller coaster of emotions. It’s an engaging book highly recommended.

a powerful book.

“Two Years: Quest for Money, Purpose, and Love” by Max Tower is a powerful book. It talks about something many people these days struggle with; What is the meaning of life? What do I want for my own life? It made me reflect as well. Doing a 9 to 5 job is something that many people aren’t made for and others are. The art about this is finding out what you like. Max takes a radical decision when he quits his job and goes on a journey of self-discovery. It is brave and strong to take a decision like that. Money is not everything. Time is so important and we spent so much time working that we stop enjoying life. And this book has the power to wake people up.

This is the memoir of Max Towers. After a six-month internship in India, the author joined as an investment banker in the same company in Frankfurt, Germany, later moved to London and then New York for the same company. Feeling stuck in life and in a routine of working the whole week and living for the weekend, he was addicted to smoking, stress, seeking outside validation and alcohol while partying every weekend. He decided to quit his job for world travel, in a quest for Money, Purpose of life and Love.

In this memoir, Max shares his two years of world travel, significant personal transformation, and rediscovery of himself. Brutally honest, has penned down all his thoughts from the past and all his daring opinions, that one might hesitate to share. Like prioritising career over relationships, cheating on a romantic partner, owning up to it, revealing his poor financial actions and losses, and still it isn't any sob-story. The very authentic and crisp writing, that's to the point with no nonsense or filler, has this conversational style so we don't get bored of it either. Part-travelogue, part-memoir, the book seems promising, it's the authenticity of the writing that wins the hearts of its readers.

I learnt about several things from the book, like Ego identity. The identity that helps us think and evaluate rationally what we should or should not do in order to be loved, to be accepted. Like having a secure job, a relationship and a routine life, we all aspire for that. That's ego identity. But when we find ourselves stuck in this loop, we get to wonder about our true purpose.

The author traveled various places and mentioned so many anecdotes from his adventures, and where he partook in adrenaline-inducing activities and then soothing activities like connecting with nature or spirituality. He met so many people and shares the important incidents from his life.

With Max finding his true purpose of life, he learns that everything that's destined to happen, will happen, so we have to accept the past, own it, and that retrospection is also necessary to understand situations. However, one must keep moving forward, trust in oneself. Trust that everything will be all right. Trust in the higher power in and around each one of us. Practising gratitude, meditation, connecting with nature and a little philanthropy wherever possible will definitely help.

One of the standout aspects of the book is its relatable portrayal of the protagonist's relationships, particularly their dynamic with S, a significant figure in their life. The depiction of the ups and downs of their connection offers a poignant exploration of the complexities of love and the importance of honest communication.

Throughout the narrative, the author's writing style is engaging and thought-provoking, drawing readers into the authors emotional landscape and inviting introspection. The incorporation of synchronicities and serendipitous encounters adds a touch of magic to the story, underscoring the theme of embracing the unknown with trust and openness.

Overall, "Two Years" is a captivating memoir that offers profound insights into the human experience. With its blend of personal reflection, spiritual exploration, and narrative depth, the book resonates on a deeply emotional level, leaving readers inspired to embark on their own journey of self-discovery and transformation.

Two Years is the story of a man who changed his life in that significantly small amount of time. I think the general idea of the book is to tell a story, an autobiography filled with ups and downs, questions, and answers.

What I like about this read is the process Max Tower went through to transform his life. The "Leave everything behind" is a common thing in our days, traveling to forget or to rediscover, but there's a certain originality in his thoughts, I can tell the author actually grew over those years.

Overall, a great book for the reader who wants a change in life but doesn´t know where to start!

The first thing I would like to say is that this is a book that may touch more than one reader closely because many of us have felt stuck at some point in our lives.
Max, a former investment banker, yearned for something more meaningful after years of working in the finance industry, made the decision to quit his job and embark on a journey of self-discovery and personal transformation.
I totally enjoyed reading and learning about the new cultures he explored, the new perspectives he gained and how he could rediscover his true essence.
It’s a book that teaches me invaluable lessons so I took it as my favorite ally.

if you are tired of the office and the tie this book is for you

Many times, we believe that we are destined to do only one thing in life and that the destiny that awaits us is an office and a tie. Max had to go through a lot of behavioral and emotional changes in order to discover himself and start doing with his life what HE wanted, not what the world wanted him to do, and he did it!

This book is not only reflective but also full of wisdom. If you are going through a difficult time where you want to know yourself to transform your life and start doing what you love, read this book and let yourself be advised by the author.

Break addictive patterns and embrace uncertainty.

The book is a memoir of the author's journey of self-discovery from his life in the corporate world to becoming the person he is right now. His writing style is very conversational. The author writes away that he is directly speaking to you over a cup of coffee or brunch. You will learn about facing your fears, embracing the uncertainty in your life, and prospering afterward. It teaches you to move away from external validation, where you can redefine your success and enjoy the view, whether on top of the hill or in a beautifully well-constructed villa below. As the book's author has mentioned, letting go of your ego-driven perspective will bring you much positivity. This is a great and inspirational book to read.

I always find it fascinating reading about people’s journey to their own sense of fulfilment so Max’s story certainly caught my eye. In this travel memoir, Max candidly shares his quest for meaning, just like many others, which got me thinking deeply about myself and self-discovery.

It is so difficult to let of control for me, so learning about the profound impact of relinquishing control for him, embracing trust, and opening oneself to the abundance of life gave me a new perspective on things.

Sometimes it’s hard for me to find true honesty and vulnerability in some memories but that wasn’t the case in this one. At the end of the day, I think we all deal with the same issues, we just handle them differently so sharing everyone’s story feels like sharing the heaviness of what it means to discover who you are.

Overall, this memoir felt like an invitation to embrace a new era of self governance and purpose.

In my journey in life, I have always been interested in books about self growth and self realization, and in Two years I found a great memoir with a depth that I was not ready for. I found it really empowering and intense, feeling so relate with the story and Max’s journey, where you will find not only an exterior journey, where he visit several countries looking for answers but also a interior one, where he made de questions and found the answers that made him decide to leave a corporate world to have a fulfilling life. Two Years: Quest for Money, Purpose, and Love is a well written, well constructed and fascinating memoir. The author has a captivating voice and is refreshingly open and on the face of it perceptive about his flaws.

Under his pen name Max Tower, the author describes the start of his quest as ‘A clean cut from the seven years of “living for work” life model. In particular, living through lockdown alone in a small apartment subject to massive work screentime, with no non-work personal contacts, and the pain of a stock market gambling loss, led to his dramatic decision to quit his job with no Plan B. Or, put another way, Plan B was essentially not to have any plans.

We follow Max as he travels across and around most of the world over the next two years, gathering information and inspiration, shedding old patterns of thought while meeting and both learning from and helping numerous interesting people on his way. The writing is thoughtful, insightful and intelligent and the author is so engaging that he effortlessly carried this reader through a narrative densely packed with details of his journey (spiritual and literal), place descriptions, self analysis and musings on life, death and all that’s in between.

The book is a slow read, but for good reason — there’s a lot packed in here. And the quality of the writing makes it a pleasure to take it at a gentle pace. However, I felt that the text could have been broken into more and shorter sections while respecting the overarching structure.

I also found that the narrative became a little repetitive, especially the third part, and perhaps a little too esoteric, though of course that is all part of the author’s spiritual journey so I understand why he wrote it.

None the less, there is much accessible wisdom distilled in the final pages, without straying into trite cliché or homily: ‘In the end, life is a series of choices resulting in a series of events that will lead us to the same result, one way or the other: Death. The question is how we want to live it until then.’ Who can argue with that? Self-evident on examination but also provocative.

Finally, I would mention the author’s commendable, innovative and very interesting approach to giving some of profits from book to charities selected by author and chosen by readers’ votes.

"Two Years: Quest for Money, Purpose, and Love" by Max Tower is truly an empowering read. This compelling book delves into a common struggle of our time— the quest for the meaning of life and determining our own desires. It sparked a deep reflection within me.

Tower's narrative challenges the conventional 9 to 5 lifestyle, emphasizing that it may not be the perfect fit for everyone. The essence lies in discovering what truly resonates with us. Max's audacious decision to step away from the familiar and embark on a journey of self-discovery is both courageous and inspiring. This narrative reminds us that there's more to life than just chasing after money.

The book highlights the invaluable nature of time, urging readers to reconsider the balance between work and enjoyment in life. Tower's story has the transformative power to awaken individuals to the realization that life is meant to be savored, not merely endured. "Two Years" encourages readers to question societal norms and embark on their own journey toward fulfillment. It's a powerful testament to the importance of aligning our lives with our true passions and priorities.

Drop everything in your life if you love freedom.

A very interesting world of an author who originally had a good job and a good life in the city.
Experiences as they travelled the world looking for enlightenment.

"I had read so many different books during my travels; some were personal stories, and some were factual. But none of them really combined the two. That is where I saw my niche."

I enjoyed a lot of the concepts in this book, being a spiritualist myself, enjoying a life of peace.

Well worth a read.
