Mafia romance with twists, turns, and a romance that will have you in a chokehold. Joey and Layne should not be together and that is clear the second they realized who one another was. Did that stop Joey from pursuing Layne? No! It drew him closer to protect her from someone after her that no one seems to have details on. What was supposed to be a one off fling turned into stronger feelings that Layne is trying to avoid. THE CLIFFHANGER has me in the best chokehold for book 2 which comes out April 30, 2024. Sadie Winchester amazing debut novel, and I am ready to read anything and everything you write in the future!

It took me a minute to get into the characters. The story just jumped right in. I did enjoy the story and the several twist and turns. I really like the male character Joey. Can’t wait to read book 2.

This book was amazing!!! I devoured it. I loved the story and how well it played out. Layne and Joey are now one of my favorite book couples. I highly recommend this book!

I read this story in one day, it was so captivating. Layne being a mafia princess but not actually wanting to be said "princess", as she is just as tough as her younger brother. And she proves just as much.
Finding her delicious dark knight who's just as hell bent on keeping her safe as her father is.
Betrayal within the family, honestly heartbreaking.
Liam is a dick through and through. In true, old school Mafia style, he gets treated differently than Layne because he is male, which is total bs. And wth happened to him lol?! He just kind of disappears Honestly thought he was behind it all...
The whole story just had me wanting to know more. Kept me completely engaged.
That CLIFFHANGER?! Sadie, girl, we NEED that sequel!!

Eeeeeekkkkkkkkk!!!! Mafia meets Cinderella and Romeo and Juliet with a pinch of dark romance! Cliffhanger city! Love the main duo - strong AF female lead. Independent woman! But I loooooovvvveee when a man wants and needs to protect his woman. He knows it. The end of the book gives up so many things and your head is stuck unraveling the pieces, wondering how in the world life goes on, especially after…well, everything.

First time I have read this author and boy is this a great book. It has a little bit of mafia but is mostly about Joey and Layne, they are both head strong and don't take anything. There is a few twist in the book and the cliffhanger will have you reeling. Great job

Ready for the next book already. A good take on mafia romance. I really liked the main characters and found them interesting to read. Some world building but not too much. The spicy scenes were good.

I love a good mafia romance, but I REALLY love a morally grey kick butt FMC!! Combine the two 🤌🤌 I thought Layne was the perfect mixture of strong and confident while still being vulnerable at times. And Joey! That man can break into my house any day 💀 Spice was a medium burn but when it burned it was HOT. I actually yelled out loud at that ending 😫Can’t wait until the next book comes out!!!

I’m screaming as I write this book. This is definitely in my top 5 mafia dark romances! And I would also like to welcome Joey De Luca to my roster of book boyfriends! I love Layne and Joey’s story line! The character development was immaculate. I love how Layne continues to be a strong FMC throughout the whole book. It never falters. When I think of women in mafia, ITS HER. Now Joey! Joey is the possessive morally grey touch her and die man we all need in our life! I’ve never felt safer reading a book than with Joey by my side lol. His love for Layne was very much present from the beginning and I love that! I would say it was a medium burn for me personally and the spice was about 3-3.5 🌶️. I gave it a 3.5 on spice because it didn’t have much smut but when they did get spicy, IT WAS SPICY, PANTY WETTING, BLUSHING SPICE! In the dressing room of the store. In bathroom while she’s on a date. In a shady back office club while her brother AND FATHER are outside the door! 😭. The plot and content was 5 ⭐️ without debate. I was bouncing in my seat the whole time. The only three conflicts I have is I want more SMUT lol, I wanted to see more witty banter between Layne and Joey to keep it tempting, and I have to wait til later this year for book two 😭. All In All, Stay In Your Layne by Sadie Winchester is your next big MAFIA ROMANCE READ!

First impressions - the cover art is fire and so is the playlist. I've been listening to the playlist on loop since I started reading this one.
I had a lot of mixed feelings about this book. I really love the FMC, but I felt like she needed more development. She had a bit of an identity crisis - one minute, she was tough as nails and holding her own and the other, she was whining and acting like a brat. The two just didn't come together for me in one character. I guess I'm just a little disappointed because she could have been so much more.
I also learned while reading this book that I prefer a POV format. This was written in third person and it often led to confusion for me about who was talking or being talked about. I also missed the character insight that comes with POV.
The plot and storyline were strong, but the writing/editing itself needed some attention - things like overuse of adjectives (and s0metimes the same ones over and over), passive voice, run on sentences, and overall bloated and disjointed writing causing the book to be unclear at times. I kept having to go back and reread sections to make sure I wasn't missing anything.
All things considered, this was a very promising start to what I believe is a duology and I'll be waiting to check out the second book when it comes out.

This book was AMAZING with the biggest capital A! First of, my god it was so well written, the plot just kept going and happening, so smooth. The FMC in this book is straight up a bad b1tch, I freaking love her! Her personally, her strength, her will to be more than just a “mafia princess” is beyond unexpected compare to what usually a mafia princess is. She fights for what she wants, to be equal to her brother, which by the way is an a$$shole. The MMC is just delicious, he is sin on a bottle and man does he have a sexy mouth 🥵 just wait! The beauty of this man is that he will do anything to protect our girl Layne but he has secrets… Secrets that could become an issue within her family, and she lives for the loyalty and protection of her family.
The book has such an amazing plot, you would just want to keep reading without stopping until you get to that cliffhanger and man, believe me you’re gonna want to throw punches and all! I cannot wait to get more of the story behind Layne &. Joey!

I just want to preface this by saying WHEW! This was my first look into the world of Mafia romance and Oh. My. God, I am going to have to venture deeper into this world.
Joey, Joey, Joey, you tattooed badass hottie. I literally swooned each time Sadie made mention of the half mask he wore. I'm going to have to get one for my husband now.
In all seriousness though, I am shocked that this is Sadie's first book, because it was absolutely fantastic. I would have loved a little bit more character development with Layne but knowing there is a second book coming gives me hope that what I was needing from the character will be there, and if not, that's fine too, it absolutely did not take away from my enjoyment of the book.
As far as spice goes, I would probably give it about a 3.5/4 there's not a ton of spice but when her and Joey get together, Ooo la la. I just, yum. They are delicious together.
This book does end on a heck of a cliff hanger, I am not one to be super excited about the waiting game but since I knew it was coming it made it a lot easier! I cannot wait for book 2 to come out. So glad I got the opportunity to read this book. 🖤

Stay in your Layne by Sadie Winchester
5 ⭐️ 5 🌶️ (not a book full of spice but the spice is HOT)
I knew I was going to love this book from the beginning. It’s not your typical mafia book.
One Layne is not a mafia princess like most books. She tough and outspoken and I’m here for it.
Second her description alone. This might be something that just stands out to me because I’m weird but, Layne isn’t the “typical” girl in a book, she doesn’t have long blonde hair. She has simple brown hair. She’s tough and will stand toe to toe with anyone. She wants to be a part of the business not just sit back and let the men do the work. I absolutely loved her
Now Joey, I was drooling over him for most of the book until something came out about him and it changed my feelings but I get why Layne just couldn’t stop.
The twist, I guessed a couple things and I kept changing my mind but it was a solid 50/50 in my mind. Then I found out I know absolutely nothing, I was so wrong and it had me picking my jaw up off the floor.
It is a cliff hanger just so you know, and it’s a good one even though I’m a little mad I have to wait for the second book
Everyone needs to read this and I mean everyone!

Let me preface this with if you are someone who cannot handle cliffhangers without the rest of the story, DO NOT DIVE IN YET! But if you like to have heart racing, raging emotions and torment, then by all means, follow in my footsteps...
I am NOT convinced that this was Sadie's debut by any means. This book was absolutely incredible and I devoured it so fast!
Layne, I want to be as strong of a person as you are when I grow up haha. This woman is everything and more you could ever strive to be, as long as you have some darkness in your soul! Lol!
Joey, absolutely the most unhinged bad boy you can ever imagine. This man I'd swoon worthy, again, you must have that darkness in your soul to understand! But the mouth on him 🫠
This book put my heart and my head through the ringer, in a good way. It pulled me in, kept me hooked, but the end - pushed me off the cliff face first. Not sure how I came up to type this out, but here I am, groveling over the fact that I have SO many questions unanswered.

This book was a Rollercoaster.. oh my god sadie your writing is incredible 😲 to think this is your baby book i could hardly believe it. Layne was such a badass "mafia princess" even though she didnt really wanna be that title. In most mafia romances the main female lead doesnt get to be apart of the blood spilling... BUT layne shes such a badass and im so glad you wrote her the way you did shes my spirit animal such a fiery attitude and Spicy personality. OKAY BUT LIAM... ugh i hate liam sorry sadie but hes an asshole. The spice in this book was immaculate i was drawn to this book since the very first chapter... i would totally reccomend everyone to pick this up .. that cliffhanger tho how dare you 🙄 now to wait for the second book. When i thought i could guess what was happening i was proved wrong lol. Excited for layne closure ahead 🥰

Stay in Your Layne was your typical A+ dark mafia romance. The plot gets 5 stars and the spice 3.5🌶. There wasn't as much spice as I like but when there was it was hot. (In the bathroom while on a day's with someone else.)
Layne is not your typical "mafia princess". She is a very strong and independent woman that can take care of herself and handle business. But in the mafia world the men rule and the women look pretty. And I love that Layne doesn't just slip intothat typical mafia woman role.
Joey is your hard core tattooed badass that does the dirty work that even the mafia doesn't want to do. He is possessive and if you touch what's his you will die. "SWOON". But he's gonna find he has his hands full when trying to protect Layne.
This story does end with an intense cliffhanger and now i can't wait to finish their story

I love that this storyline is different to other mafia books, in the way that the Strong FMC actually wants to be part of the family business and stands her ground!
The dynamic between Layne and Joey is amazing, this story kept you on your toes and keeps you enthralled through out the whole book. It will keep you on the edge of your seat while making you feel all the emotions with Layne along the way!

Stay in Your Layne is the story of the fierce and fiery Layne who meets her match in the charismatic and smooth talking Joey. They meet upon happenstance and quickly learn they are cut from the same cloth and very much tied to each other. I am not usually one who likes 3rd person POV, but the writing is so well done that I didn’t even realize this was in 3rd person until I was a few chapters in. I was very captivated by the story and the whole time I was wondering what would happen next. I love Layne and Joey’s relationship as they have great banter and chemistry. The one thing I dislike is that I have to wait for book 2! I know it will be worth it though! I very much look forward to reading more from Sadie and seeing where this story goes!

Layne was tough and stood up for herself, a woman in a man’s world. l liked that about her. She wasn’t one to back down easily. Joey really gave her a run for her money, pushing her boundaries and randomly showing up everywhere.
I did predict the little twists, but it didn’t stop me from enjoying the story. Now, that cliffhanger? I’m intrigued!
It was written in third person, but was moving back and forth between the viewpoints of different characters without any clear separation. It made it a little hard to follow at times.
But otherwise I enjoyed it! I liked the characters (apart from the ones we shouldn’t!) and the story was easy to read.

This was the first time, I read her book. please check, the triggers warning, before reading this book. This book was Awesome. I 💓 it!! This book will Definitely, pull you in. I couldn't put it down. This book does ends in a Cliffhanger, but it was so worth reading. 💓 Layne and Joey.
This book has mafia romance, keeps you on the edge of your seats, Cliffhanger, mmc, fmc, badass, leaves questions, twist and turns, heart racing , incredible, darkness, Action pack, entertaining, funny, romanic, wonder characters, Steamy , Unpredictable and I can go on and on. And the Cliffhanger, MAN, Can't Wait, for the next part. 💓💓it.

Spicey, Edge of My Seat Mafia Read!
This book is nonstop action from the start. Layne and Joey are hot together and their relationship is complex and full of obstacles. They are enemies, turned lovers, turned enemies once again. The story kept me on the edge of my seat and hasn’t let me go. It is set in a world of a Mafia family and is full of darkness and death. Layne is a firey, take charge lead whom I loved and Joey is dark, tattooed and hunky. I loved how he was her protector, even though he shouldn’t have been in that role. I can’t wait to see what’s next in this world and find out what happens with this couple!

I loved this story. It kept me interested from the very beginning. And that cliffhanger 😱
The only thing I didn’t like, is the third person perspective. I’ve grown so used to reading dual povs, or more when reading a why choose, that I had a little bit of a hard time keeping up with who was talking to who.
Which is the only reason it took me a little longer to read than my other books, and the only reason it’s not 5 starts.

I usually have a lot to say, but the amount of times this book left me speechless?? Am I a mafia romance girly? Apparently yes. The FMC is SUCH A BADASS. The MMC is just 🥵. I thought I had everything figured out in this book, but I knew nothing until it was revealed. I'm on my knees begging Sadie Winchester for more, because how dare she leave us with a cliffhanger like that!

I cannot get enough of these characters and story line. From character development, *SPICE*, to twists and turns that i was NOT expecting, to a love story, importance of family, friendship - READ THIS BOOK.
I absolutely cannot wait for book 2!

Layne and Joey 🖤
I loved this book so much. Layne is such a strong FMC especially when you think mafia princess, I loved seeing her fight for her place. And Joey? I couldn't get enough of him! I was ensnared by his whole personality. Their chemistry is great and while the book isn't filled with spice, the spice that's there is great!
However the cliffhanger... MAAM that was uncalled for and I need the next book ASAP!

I read this book in 6 hours I could not put it down. Now I'm not a 3 person POV reader but by chapter 5 I was so drawn in that it didn't bother me. Layne is such a strong FMC and she gives as good as she gets. Her and Joey were like lava just burning down the side of a volcano. Sadie really knows how to keep you in the story and leave you wanting more

This was a refreashing and new storyline! The FMC for ones actually wants to be apart of the family business and not "needs to be saved" or needing to save the MMC from his life
So many twist and turns that kept me on my toes and didnt lose my intrest
