This is a DARK 32k-word instalove fantasy novella. I am not kidding when I say that this is NOT for everyone. SA is a MASSIVE trigger in this book, but she gets her revenge. Read with caution!

Proof not everyone should try to write a book

This was the worst hot garbage I’ve ever read.


It was like a 15 year old incel attempted to write smut after only ever watching rape porn and reading wattpad. This was worse than anything Ive read from wattpad actually. Please do us all a favor and don’t ever write another book. They say don’t judge a book by its cover, and I’ll admit, you fooled me with the beautiful cover art disguising the horribly written story inside. Got this for free during stuff your kindle day and still paid too much for it.

This is really like a 1.75. Another stuff your kindle day pickup. Wish again that it was longer to actually explain the world because it’s a great concept just needed more time to unravel. Please god read the trigger warnings in this one it’s a lot.

reads like a wattpad story

I’m not sure where to start.
I read the trigger warnings & have read and enjoyed books with far worse warnings. But this one… what is the story?
It’s just…awful. Like I said, reads like a wattpad story. The first wattpad stories though, not the ones you can totally see being films.
I know fantasy / vampire stories can be whatever you want them to be. But I think this takes it too far. There’s no reason for anything. The amount of sexual abuse is astonishing, and the way she openly talks about it so quickly is just not normal.

Maybe someone will enjoy it, but not if you actually want to read a story.

I had very low expectations going into this book because of the trigger warnings but it was not what I was expecting.
This book is basically a fantasy version of handmaidens tale.
I’m trying to not spoil things but just get through the first chapter. If you can’t get through it, I’d advise to DNF the book because there is still some brutal chapters but by then she had the support of Lucian and his brothers. Throughout the book after the first chapter everything is just sweet of the guy trying to build trust of that broken girl and show her that she’s just as equal to him and not a slave.

Let me just say, this novella had me blushing and rooting for Lyra like my life depended on it. It’s definitely a twisted wild ride from start to finish, and while it’s short, it packs a punch.

Here’s the gist: Lyra’s been brought up in a horrific system where her body is literally sold off to entertain the rich and powerful. Just when you think things couldn’t get worse….shes chosen by the brutal royal family…

A HUGE heads up, this book is intense. We’re talking trauma, SA, gore and abuse! PLEASE check those trigger warnings before diving in. That said, it’s also a story of revenge, survival, and taking back control, and I am so glad that the girls got to settle the score in the end!

It’s an Insta-love story, but hear me out…it doesn’t feel like a typical rushed vibe. The only area of confusion would be the timeframe that this is set in, some elements left me puzzled but this did not take from the overall story. There’s actual character development and background, which I really appreciated. As much as the story wraps up nicely, I wouldn’t mind seeing more of this twisted dark world. The concept had so much potential.

For a novella, this was packed full. Traded by her parents for money at the age of 18, Lyra is trained as a consort for 4 years by a woman who use the most disgraceful methods to scare these women into submission. Taught that their only use is for the Blood King to feed on them, when Lyra and her friends are chosen for the heir to the throne and his brothers, she expects the same abuse she has suffered in training.
But what she doesn’t expect is for Lucian to find out the extent of the abuse and order the lady responsible to the stocks for punishment for the whole town to see and participate in.

This is a DARK novella. There are lots of things in this short book that could trigger you so please proceed with caution, but rest assured, whilst the treatment of the FMC is brutal and disgusting, she gets her revenge in the end.

I loved reading this book. I'm a sucker for anything vampire, fairy, or supernatural really!

It made me happy to have Lyra end up happily. I wished I could have had her torture Valma and Draven so much more than she did. I understand that its a Novella so time is of the essence but Lyra just deserved to hurt them SO much more! The simple world building was great! I also really liked that the girls who were traumatized stuck together rather than turning against each other, they really took care of each other and that was heart warming through the absolute BS they had to endure!

Just WOW!!! This short novella packs A PUNCH!!!!! The story line, the characters, the emotions, the trauma, the bonding, the sisterhood and brotherhood and THE REVENGE!!!! This is definitely DARK, so check your triggers. Lyra is a strong, badass, sexy bitch. Lucien as a strong, dominant, psycho. All the side characters were amazing and it was just as much about them as it was this couple. The shit Lyra went through and Lucien being there for her. I teared up a couple times. I definitely recommend this book!!!!

I got this book free on stuff your kindle day. I had a totally different expectation going into this book. It simply wasn’t for me but could be for someone else.
I did finish it but wish I hadn’t. Please make sure you read the trigger warnings. This book was all smut with a tiny trickle of plot. I know it was a novella but it felt rushed and thrown together. Too much happened too quickly. It was basically aa book full of SA.

I really enjoyed this book, however, I feel like the element of detail just wasn’t enough in some places of the story. Also, the spice was there, just not how you would think. This story was nothing but a long trigger warning. Most of the book contains someone getting SA'd or R@ped. What little there is of a plot seems lacking. Unless I missed it, the motive for the villain is never given which makes his actions pointless other than an excuse to write more SA.

This was so good!! Emily has a way of portraying how her characters heal from their trauma and it is amazing. Spice is great! This is a vampire book. Check the trigger warning. And that torture scene at the end for her getting revenge against her abusers 👏👏 it was perfect!

This was AMAZING!!!! I wish I had found this author sooner. I am devouring these books. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. I needed revenge and revenge was served in the best possible way. All I can say is I won't look at a cactus the same ever again.
