Kane Townsend was with the FBI Behavioral Analysis Unit until one case changed everything. Hampered by the red tape preventing him from saving an innocent life, Kane left the FBI and started his own private contracting company. Waverly Davenport was a Chief Science Officer in Charleston, South Carolina. She’d developed a new technology that would disrupt the criminal world. Waverly decided to take a well-earned vacation before starting the long process of patenting and selling her technology. The last thing Waverly expected at the five-star resort was to be kidnapped and held for ransom while out on an excursion or to fall for the man sent to rescue her.

Kane thought the case would be over once he rescued Waverly. Now, they were on the run, trying to make it back to South Carolina as the kidnappers pursued them. As Kane and Waverly’s hearts become involved, so does the mystery of who is after Waverly and why. Can Kane and Waverly discover the truth before it’s too late?

I love your books and want to move to that town, ghosts and all. My only problem is I read them way too fast, I can't put them down once I start one. Your books hits all my emotions, I laugh out loud sometimes, especially when the two "little Old Ladies" get involved. Now waiting patiently for the next one in January, Thank for all the wonderful books and letting me escape today's world for even just a little bit.

This book was amazing as I expected. Kathleen never lets us down. Kane's character could not have been written better and Waverly was such a strong, smart female lead. I love how she had her younger sister to take care of. Olivia had me LOL'ing as usual. I already cannot wait to re-read the book. I can never put Kathleen's books down once I start them and cannot wait longer than release day to start them. I'd give more than 5 stars if I could.

A perfect mission

Not over the top action but still enough to get you excited, laughing, and anxious at the same time.

Kane and Waverly book was good. His protection of her and her sister was top tier. It's like they were brought in the family and weren't even aware. Even Liv had to box out because Waverly was so awesome. A true baddy in a lab coat.

All I want are more moments with you

Wow! Kane will completely sweep you off your feet! He may be the middle sibling and sometimes feel that he isn't really seen, but Waverly sees every part of him. She sees the determination, the compassion, the smart business man, the protector, the gorgeous man, the love he has for his siblings and his genuine interest in her work. I loved seeing him brought to his knees by his quirky, socially awkward but completely perfect for him scientist - so sweet...and steamy, once they escape Olivia and her blocking tactics! So funny!
I love every visit to Shadows Landing but the Townsend's just add to the crazy in the best ways!

Wow I love your books, you know how to keep us on the edges of our seats. Dr. Waverly Davenport a genius, a scientist and an inventor. She working for a Research Laboratories and she created a specialized drone. Waverly figured out how to finally finish the last component after years of working on the project. Her boss suggested a vacation before they complete the patents for it. While on vacation she was on a sunset cruise and the entire boat was kidnapped. Kane Townsend, Olivia little brother, a behavioral specialist and former FBI. He was tired of the administrative bureaucracy decided to open his of insurance company for people who were kidnapped and held for ransom. Waverly little sister contacted Kane to help her get her sister. Kane of course rescued her and as usual the entire pirate town helps. Awesome story

Kathleen Brooks gives us another hit that makes you want to find and move to this town. Characters are loveable and believable even when they are in fantastic situations. You smile, laugh, and sometimes cry as you fall in love with each person, (Well the good guys), making an appearance whether they are male or female, and I love it! Even the animals win a special place in your heart. Nothing wrong with any of these books!

The story moves at a good clip and we see and hear from many of our favorites throughout the book. So worth the wait and credit!

Rescued

Kane is not looking for love in the middle of a hostage situation. Yet when he pulls Waverly from her captors, his life turns upside down. Waverly, is a scientist who finds herself being rescued by the handsome Kane Townsend. Together they find amazing chemistry but will they find their happily ever after or will the kidnappers find them? Miss Brooks out did herself again. A lot of action, family, and fun in this wonderful story.

Waverly and Kane meet when she is kidnapped and he is the negotiator for her release. He soon realizes something is fishy with her kidnapping and begins to look for more information about what is really going on. Waverly struggles to stay sane while she is held hostage. Things become precarious and she is trying to figure a way out. Kane realizes he needs to move and does so as quickly as he can. When they meet, both are surprised by how attracted they are to each other. Kane doesn't mix business with pleasure and soon realizes this may be a problem. Waverly was very intellectual, but also kind of rigid. This has caused men to flee from her in the past. Kane's job is demanding and requires a lot of travel. This has also caused issues and relationships to be ended in the past. You will have to read the book to see how it all plays out.

Loved it!

Kane and Waverly's story was just too cute. To find your soul mate while in the midst of saving her from a kidnapping wasn't the plan, but how could he not. Waverly is beautiful, smart, funny, and she comes with a equally smart and funny sister who is witty and smart in her own right.
Waverly tried go relax after finishing her latest project but when she's kidnapped and left for dead, she thinks the end is near. When she's is rescued by Kane, she never thought that she'd inherit an entire family and first town too. All the better.

This was another gem from Kathleen. It's was funny, intriguing, full of bad guys, and a surprise connection brewing. It's all the things were love about Kathleen and of grow go Shadows Landing.

This was Kane's book. Kane is a hostage negotiator formerly FBI. Kane is contacted when a scientists is kidnapped and ransomed. Kane falls fast and hard. Waverly we find is very smart but gets into her head cause that is how she solves everything she has to work through it. Kane is her equal, not as smart but knows enough to hold his own. They discover their mutual love for each other as they set on an adventure of survival. Of course there are the rest of the family and the ladies of the Church that help. In true author fashion when you think it is all wrapped up you get the wrench in the puzzle. There are a lot of funny LOL moments and of course Olivia's payback for scaring everyone off.

Synopsis: After years of grueling work, Waverly has finished her top secret project, and is off to relax on a two week tropical vacation. She is in full relaxation mode when the dinner cruise boat is highjacked and everyone is taken hostage, but help is on the way. Kane has been hired to help negotiate her release.

Thoughts: I’ve read many of Kathleen’s books and I have been sucked into the small town charm of all of her series. Even though the writing feels forced and rushed at times, I feel the need to finish the series to see what happens with all the characters. This book follows the same pattern as all her other books.

book 3 Kane meet Waverly

Another original and an amazing story by a very talented writer, Kathleen Brooks. We first meet the Townsend within the “Shadow Landing” series with Olivia Townsend meet Granger, Sheriff of Shadows Landing, this series is meeting each brother, their talent, and the woman that make them solid. I’ve read all of Kathleen Brooks books and highly recommend this story too.

The Townsend series is interesting and has very likeable characters. Waverly is a physics scientist who gets kidnapped and Kane has to go rescue her. The master.mind behind it all shocks Waverly. Cute couple!
