This book was previously released as part of the BABE23 anthology.
What if Neverland existed?
What if Peter Pan wasn’t a boy in tights?
What if, instead, he’s a demon so powerful that he commands Hell’s Army?
Rowan Teivel is the last man I should be feeling anything for. He is arrogant, dominant, and arouses something dangerously depraved within me. He’s also the darkest and wickedest soul I’ve encountered.
I should have heeded the warnings I was given. But the moment I let him lure me into Neverland, I was his.
One taste of the primal, ancient beast and I wanted him to destroy, corrupt, and desecrate me in the darkest, sensual way.
If I let Rowan have absolute control over my pleasure, would it be the worst thing? He only wants to own my soul, or so I thought.

A new book (actually a novella) to kick off an upcoming new series by Amelia! I love Amelia and I have read almost (a few missing standalones) everything by her.
I debated whether to start this knowing we would not get any other books for a while, but I was too curious to not dive in.
This book had elements that seemed familiar from her other series mainly Monsters and Legacy, but it had its own specific twists to it. New characters, Amelia's new take on lore and past events.
It was a great mashup of many things put into one and it worked. I have my reasons for the 3.75 stars and is mainly because of the fact it was too short to truly really get me immersed into this new world and book. Rowan aka Legion is an enigma and has a massive backstory that I am dying to know while the FMC Moira seems so clueless to everything around her lol
Another reason I gave it 3.75 stars is because of the familiarity I felt with the way things were progressing between the two and also the way he manipulates her, which was also too familiar.
There is a lot of information we do get about the characters, Moira's mother mated with something/someone and that resulted in Moira's birth to be out of the norm in her lineage, her grandmother is the daughter of the devil, and she is keeping her mother in a cell because she's gone insane, that same mother was once loved by Rowan??
So many things were revealed, and we barely got any answers because obviously why would we be so early on??
Despite my initial feelings I am intrigued to find out more about these characters and their backstories!
The best short story I've read in a very long time!!! But I'm going on record saying that Amelia Hutchins Is a evil genius!!!! She knows how to get your attention! Rowan Teival is so intoxicating and my new obsession!! Killer looks and a hidden beast with wings and horns and dripping in sex is what makes him a number #1 on my list of monster lovers!! And Moira Bishop is a very lucky witch indeed! In just a few pages I fell in love with both characters. Their chemistry is scorching and the sex primal and uninhabited and I loved how Moira owned her pleasure and gave as well as got! This promises to be another fabulous series and I can't wait for more. Awesome storyline with not only demons but witches and the devil have me saying " Sign Me The Fuck Up"!!! Both characters are strong willed and their are also some interesting secondary characters like Moira's witchy grandmother that round out this tale. I haven't read a book by Amelia Hutchins yet that I didn't love! And her men are grade A spank tank material all the way!😂Until Next Time Luv's💕💋
I have been a huge fan of Amelia’s since she started writing. I was in love with her characters and her story telling but lately her writing has gotten so frustratingly repetitive. The quality is just not what I was used to from her with her fae chronicles universe. I think the break from Facebook will be good for her because I feel like she’s just trying to deliver what she thinks the facebook group “fans” want. A true fan will be honest with you and not kiss your a**. At the end of the day this is all just my opinion and I don’t want to hurt Amelia’s feelings or anything like that but I’ve been feeling this way for a little while and I’ve been reluctant to speak up or write an honest review.
I need this story to keep going! I love a take no sh*t FMC and a dirty talking MMC and this story had both. This has a Neverland twist and I wish we would have gotten into that more in this book. This was a short and very dark and spicy to a world I hope Amelia continues. If you are looking for a quick read that's dark, depraved and really really hot... then give this one a go. This is a paranormal universe with witches, demons and the FMC that thought she was just human.
Not going to give this one a ⭐️ rating bc I don’t think I’m the target audience here. | TikTok | IG |
If you want something short, with dark romance and 🌶️ within the first few chapters this will probably be good for you. The monster (demon) smut with the weird magic appendage was a little weird for me.
The writing was ok, the info dump of (non-romantic) plot was a little overwhelming, I think this is one you read for the spice not the non-romantic subplot, so take that as you will.
Doubt I’ll pick up any more of her books, but if you’re into dark spice with monster elements this is readable.
If you've not read a lot of Amelia Hutchins books you're gonna love this.
I began reading her other books to tie me over while waiting for the next Nine Realms book, but I unfortunately found out that this is the exact same story she's already written more than once before.. (Bulletproof Damsel, Nine Realms, The Fae Chronicles (only read first 4), etc) It's just slightly different circumstances and environment in each one.
I'll list the recipe I'm talking about at the bottom with spoiler tags.
It is still really good and she knows how to write her recipe well. I unfortunately read some of her other series not too long ago and it felt almost surreal how 1:1 this was...
The Recipe: Don't click show if you don't want to be spoiled please 😂💕
.. There's so much more but I'm too tired, maybe I'll go back to edit it later 😂
So I guess Amelia will be one of my moodreads; When I crave to read this exact type of story..🥹💕
I’m a fan of Amelia Hutchins. I think she writes action-packed, brutal, and wickedly sexy books. Often they are in dire need of better editing and the FMCs and MMCs are pretty similar to one another, regardless of the series, and they are almost always filled with problematic tropes that I choose to ignore. Supporting characters are usually also very similar across her books too—the MMC always has a cadre of friends while the FMC has problematic relationships with FCs in her life or all of the FCs are fridged so that the FMC is alone and then welcomed into the MCs group in a bizarre found family that all are attracted to her (a trope I’m not a fan of at all), the FMC doesn’t know who at least one of her parents are, and she’s usually always blonde and beautiful while the MMC is the dark bad boy (both Aria and Syd have exactly this happening in their series).
Regardless, this book is taking bits and pieces of her usual formula and reusing them in the most tired and eye-rolling way. The inner dialogue of the FMC was frustrating and convoluted, as was the meet cute instalust for the MMC—which felt exactly like when Aria met Knox in Flames of Chaos. Then the constant references to Peter Pan was just messy and didn’t even work especially because the book was throwing in so much: witches, demons, a paraphrased history of witches, mysteries that aren’t mysteries, the devil, seances, long dreamscapes that are the location for sex (another tired recycled trope), and the MMC who keeps telling the FMC that he’s the monster and she keeps running to him anyway even though she has no idea who he is and somehow trusts him more than her literal grandmother, who she lovingly calls Grams and gushes over how amazing she is only 30 pages earlier.
It is simply too rough of a draft to be considered an actual book. The plot ended right where the FMC was beginning to get a semblance of an answer that would continue to propel the plot forward. It’s not even a complete novella or short story, even if it ends on a cliffhanger. It’s merely one part of what is clearly meant to be a longer book. I just wished this hadn’t been released and Hutchins had spent some more time with it and hashed out some original spins on some of the tropes that do work for her books. The idea has potential, as does the MMC but as it is, it’s just too messy.
Amelia's writing always reels me in, traps me and keeps me on my toes. This novella was nothing short of suspenseful, erotically sensual, mysterious and honestly comical. The MMC, Rowan, that is our hot as sin demon with powers that will have you drooling when he uses them for pleasure. He is powerful, handsome and despite being the "villain" for now, he can't deny the connection between himself and our FMC which leads to serious touch her and die vibes.
The FMC, Moira, is strong, funny and naive, but not naive of her own accord it is because of the lies and betrayal that has been hidden from her, her entire life. Her witchcraft is laying laden ready to be freed. I loved how she met Rowan head on challenge for challenge. She may have wavered at times under his power, but their story is just getting started and I cannot wait to see what comes in book two.
This may be a short story, but it packs a punch and you won't want to put it down. So buckle up.
This novella!! Wow, did it pack a punch! A Discovery of Demonology is the story of Rowan & Moira, and.. Neverland.
Intrigued?
To me, Amelia Hutchins is the queen of enemies to lovers, because she does it in such a different way. The tension and banter that she puts in is perfect. It’s like “you’re my enemy, but it still won’t stop me from telling you all the ways I’m going to fck you”. The spice!! My goodness, she knows how to write spice! Rowan is.not a good man. I was panting the entire time. So good!
I devoured this little slice of heaven and I can’t wait to see what else is in store for these two. It was short, but the world building she put in here sets things off perfectly, and is just enough to leave you wanting more.
Going from a normal existence to being thrust into the underworld as a complicated being definitely wasn't on my bingo card for this book.
Moira never knew she had it coming. Deception, deceit, sex and secrets make the world go round. Definitely in Moira's world! I loved her humor and her thought processes. Her and I definitely share the thoughts of humor instead of processing everything right away.
Rowan was definitely the villain you wanted to be with. He was the ultimate bad boy who was unapologetically himself. He did what he needed to do to get what he wanted. He just didn't realize Moira was going to be the ultimate speed bump in his plan.
The spice within this short book was delicious 😋. It was what you didn't know you needed within the storyline to help tie everything together.
I am always a fan of all Amelia's books, and this one did not disappoint! I love how Amelia just jumps right into the story. Her books always fully endorses you into the story right away. I read this book in one sitting because, I just couldn't put it down. Rowan and Moira are in my top 5 couples in her different series. 1.Lena and Lucian, 2. Sin and Ryder, 3. Knox and Aria, 4. Azrael and Emma, and now, 5. Moria and Rowan. I can't wait to see where there story takes us. Especially after everything that already happened in this first book. This was the perfect early Christmas gift to myself!
I absolutely love this author and for now I am going to trust the process and continue to read on. But I gotta tell you I am so freaking confused right now. Like I couldn’t explain what I just read if I tried, which I’m not gonna bother. So because this is just all over the place right now, I give this one 3 stars, but hopefully by the end of this series it will be a five. She’s never let me down before, but I’ve never been so baffled before with her books either, so I guess we will see.
So glad I got to read this! I was not able to get the BABE anthology, so still getting Moira and Rowan’s story makes me a happy camper. Amelia is one of my MUST READ authors, so I devoured this book. While it is a novella, there is still a lot going on! Moira gets introduced to a lot of different aspects of her life she knew nothing about. Rowan is the sexy mysterious man with all the draw. There isn’t too much to the plot right now, but I look forward to all of the potential.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️️ Two things Amelia Hutchins knows how to do are write spice & create a morally black MMC! A Discovery of Demonology is very fast paced. From the start, you’re drawn in and hooked. Rowan is.. sexy and bad. This is not a good man at all but you are going to love him anyways! The FMC, once she comes into her power, I’m sure is going to be fierce. The anticipation for book 2 is at an all time high. I cannot wait to see what Amelia has in store for us!!
I’m hooked and so freaking happy that Amelia released this as a novella. I missed out on reading this in the BABE Anthology. Rowan is so sexy and more than I expected. Moira is intelligent and sassy and gives it right back to Rowan, and I love it! I cannot wait for more of this story! I’ve never read a book of Amelia’s that I didn’t love! I just know this series is going to be epically fabulous!
Yet again this is a story that gripped me from the start. I'm sure that there will be people who dont agree with my opinion but I loved it. I've definitely found a new favourite villian in Rowan, and Moira is a feisty heroine who I'm looking forward to reading more about. I found the humour in this one spot on, and I had a laugh out loud moment at Moira's reaction to one of the happenings in the book. I do wish it was longer but it's certainly whetted my appetite to read more of this series.
Amelia Hutchins, you're killing me. I need to know when the continuation of this story is going to be released. I understand that Violet is a witch who doesn't know she's a witch until the end, and Rowan is a demon who claims to be Legion (which becomes evident in the kinky dream sequences in "Neverland"). To be honest, I still don't understand why this is considered to have anything to do with the Peter Pan story, or Neverland, but I still want part two.
I love Amelia’s writing. She's a master at weaving a beautiful, deep story with the perfect amount of spice. This book was so good. I love every second I spend reading this book. Rowan aka Legion is an enigma and has a massive backstory that I am dying to know while the FMC Moira seems so clueless about everything around her and this has piqued my curiosity. I want to know everything. The best short story I've read in a very long time!!!
Oh, Rowan… 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ & Moira. 🥵🔥 What an enticing start to a new series! I love the premise of this storyline. Very original spin on Neverland & witchcraft. And Rowan. Absolutely loving this antihero, alpha hole. Sooo hot 🥵 Love how sassy & independent Moira is. This novella has mystery, adventure, magic, humor, & spicy hotness; all the things I love in a story.
