This book will take you by surprise, as it is an unexpected murder mystery wrapped in second chance at love. Full of sorrow, the opening scene is Leo saying goodbye to his late wife, Izzy at her funeral. An Attorney of Law, Leo's PA, Ava was there for him whilst he tried to pick up the pieces of his life, as he knew it, as a single father to his daughter, Daisy.
The book focuses on the murder, where Leo's wife died in an accident, but it was declared a major crime. The story weaves lies and intrigue, as Leo and Ava try to uncover the mystery of his late wife, Izzy's death. Whilst working closely together, they begin to develop feelings for each other. No time line is mentioned in the story, so not sure how I feel about him declaring his love for Ava whilst still investigating his late wife's murder? Danger lurks for Ava, as they close in on the culprit. An interesting love story with a twist.

Leo just lost his wife Izzy in an accident. Leo is left with his daughter Daisy to raise alone. When they get home from the funeral there are three FBI agents waiting for him. They inform Leo that they think his wife’s death was murder. Ava is the PA to Leo. He can be a grumpy ass sometimes. Leo asks Ava to look into the men in the photos that the FBI left with him. Leo and Ava start working late to find the connection between Izzy and the men. Just as Ava and Leo had decided to turn over the information that they had found to the FBI they get called in to a board meeting where the main man being sought by the FBI shows up in the board meeting and Leo is informed that he has purchased the firm. Leo is suppose to defend the CV man who he believes killed his wife. Ava and Leo get closer together and they end up having sex. Ava finds out that she is pregnant. Will Ava tell Leo about the pregnancy? Will Leo be able to find closure for his wife?

Fantastic Single Dad Suspense romance!

Lawyer Leo Harrington has just lost his wife. She was murdered and in his grief and anger, he has his assistant start an investigation. Ava Parker thinks her boss is an ass but she's trying to give him a pass because he's just lost his wife. Leo leans on Ava more and more as the investigation progresses. They become lovers.
Quite a bit of angst, some danger, an intriguing court case with some twists and surprises. Ava and Leo have good chemistry and great sex. Secondary characters are well written. Leo's daughter, Daisy, is a bright spot in the story. I did have some difficulty believing the 'I love my wife, completely' morphing into 'I love Ava' timeline.
First time I've read this author. A quick, interesting read.

Leo and his daughter Daisy suffered the loss of Isabella. She was murdered. Ava is Leo’s assistant. She is very devoted to him and his law practice. They discovered that his wife was murdered so they seek justice for her. This involves them in a very dangerous investigation. They become closer together and it becomes more than friendship between them. This story has a lot of interesting implications and details about how Isabella was involved with this crime family. Both Leo and Ava seek justice for her plus their investigation takes down the crime ring. What a convoluted story this becomes. It is very suspenseful but Leo and Ava navigate it together. I really enjoyed reading their story .

There is spoilers in this review. However, This book I felt like should have more drama aka Sarah I think she could have added a twist to to this book where it be page turner material and other then that I wish she add on how Isabel died it made me go back and reread and that actually didn’t help because she didn’t state it until later on and other then that the writer should have stated what lawyer he was aka criminal law lawyer. But anyways would I recommend this it will be a maybe since it depends if I talked to someone who is looking for something like this because one it is a different story line and this is definitely intriguing to want to read but I has a lot of drama and smut.

Ride it through

Starting a new life after his wife murdered, Leon was struggling with the day to day of living without his wife and being a a single father. He took his aggression out on his PA, Ava, until she had enough. Once she pointed out how he was treating others, he knew he had to get himself together.
The firm was bought out by a mob family. Leo was forced to defend the family member who was charged with killing his wife.
Lots if twist and turns. Good suspense story.
