What can I say? Sea has done it again.
She has such a whimsical approach to the extreme horror subgenre.
The way she blends gratuitous violence with situational comedy only adds to the absurdist nature of the world she is building. (A world which may or may not be part of a shared universe, and possibly an impending series crossover…?)

This is the latest tale involving one of The Boss’ business ventures. The venture in question: an extreme circus, of more aptly, a carnival, as it’s etymology lies in “the pleasures of the flesh”, or carnal desire.

This was an absolute delight, and I cannot wait to read whatever Sea comes up with next.

I loved this book, honestly I just love Sea's way with words, her different take on the extreme horror sub genre. However, it very nearly broke me. It wasn't the actual acts of extreme violence but the description of smegma under Arthur's dick that had me audibly heaving.
AND ONTO THE NEXT...

This has a great story line. Great like and surprising ending. I love anything horror and adding circus and killing is the cherry on top of this insane sundae

Karen is the manager of a very elite circus show for the rich, the performers perform acts dealing with real victims. When the performers go astray from their normal acts all hell breaks loose and Karen’s life is on the line with the big boss. What is she willing to do to save her own ass!? This one was fast paced and a lot of fun to read. I loved the different types of performances.

I'll be honest, I've always been creeped out by the circus. I never enjoyed it as a kid, and I sure wouldn't enjoy the one that this author dreamed up!

The mysterious "Boss" who has been featured in several other offerings has put Karen in charge of his invite-only circus. For the right price, you can watch the carnage unfold in front of your very eyes! But with the Boss away and Karen getting on everyone's nerves, some of the participants decide to go rogue and put on a different show. But the Boss sees everything, and somebody is going to pay.

This was an insanely fun read. Many thanks to the author for sending me an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This book will publish February 29, 2024.

Action-packed and gory fun 4.5 / 5

So I love the extreme novella that features the rich elite running deadly game shows or escape rooms, and now we have a circus. At this circus, you'll see how the performers use their circus skills to kill the victims in unusual and imaginative ways, and what makes this interesting is that the story is told from the point of view of the circus manager and not one of the victims. For me this helped make the book stand out and coupled with plenty of gore made it such a fun read.

If you want a quick read, which is something a bit fresh with unusual deaths and gore then you'll love this. Sea's work is always good to read and this is my favorite (so far).

This was a unique story and I really enjoyed re-entering the universe of "the boss". I really like how Sea has a series of books that have an interconnecting character (or characters) yet they are all stand alone. very well done.

The story is super fast-paced and keeps you guessing but also really really really fun, also gory and disturbing af.... but really fun!! I have become a huge sea caummisar fan her writing is awesome, cannot recommend enough for the right sorta weirdos out there, 5/5

A message to refute the Sea

This is a review of the book, and also of the author’s note at the back. We’re starting with the author note and I’m writing as if the author will see this at all.
To Sea: your author note broke my heart a little bit on your behalf, but also on all the fans of extreme horror. You write it and we devour it, so how is the audience any different than the author. Does anyone actually believe this giant mass of horror fanatics need to be removed from society? What those critics don’t understand is why we are so incredibly drawn to violence and fear, in a safe setting. This genre explores our extreme fascination with gore and violence and terror and victims. I mean, how is this any worse than the “romance” novels that start with a man abusing a woman and they eventually fall in love because the woman is so unique and special that she’s won his heart and convinced him to change his ways. That’s called bully to lover, btw. There’s shapeshifter romance which is so close to bestiality it’s ridiculous how it has that kind of fandom. So this is my message that Sea should NOT try to change her writing based on some bad reviews by people who can’t appreciate an extreme or splatter novel. But there more of us than them and, other than spelling and grammar errors (not referring to made up words) and a little overexplaining where Sea feels the need to break the 4th wall and dumb down her book by defining simple terms in parentheses. It jerks you out of the story. The writing and content itself is exactly what the fans want to see. But we also want quality over quantity. It’s pretty clear how hurt Sea is over bad reviews that attack her as the author and call her names and whatnot. Don’t ever second guess yourself so much that the issue at hand goes from small and manageable to a mountain of problems. And never let the person with a chip on their shoulder that’s angry at the world, never let them change you, and don’t take it to heart. You could write the absolute best novel ever written in the entirety of human history and it will still get bad reviews. You can’t please everyone and if you try, you won’t please anyone. It’s cliche but applicable.

Now the book itself: A very dark and very RED circus!
Ughhhjjj!!!! It’s disgusting, depraved, horrific fun. It’s several short stories (or chapters I guess) and it tells us all about the acts for this particular dark circus, which are twists on normal circus acts. I’m not putting any spoilers, just know that if you want something extreme, this is it. Sea Caummisar is for people who like Matt Shaw, either of the Sam Wests (yeah there’s 2 by that name writing in the same genre. One is male and the other female, both fantastic) or any other splatterpunk novelist.

TLDR: gory, gruesome fun. DEFINITELY NOT for those with weak stomachs or those that don’t like reading about humanity at its very worst (lots of poop in this book).
TLDR AUTHOR NOTE: don’t change a thing; you’ll never please everyone

The one thing I've always enjoyed about Sea's writing is that her style feels so natural and flows extremely well. Compared to some other authors in the genre, I could see how some may label her writing as "simple" however she makes it work, even when she's experimenting with newer styles of writing like she did in Experience #1 YOU. She truly creates a perfect blend of making her writing still extremely detailed, but not unbearably complicated. I feel as if some writers tend to do this without realizing, and it can really take away from the story.

Now for the actual story, I enjoyed it. It's interesting to see Bossman mentioned again, as well as Sanger. It would be cool if there was a sequel to this where that is explored more. Another thing I love about Sea's writing actually, is the constant Easter Eggs from past books.

I do have mixed feelings on how the book was split up though. I feel as if for the story to work, the writing approach Sea used of flipping between what was happening onstage and backstage was necessary. I don't know really what could have been done differently in her approach though. It wasn't bad, but something did feel off to me. As I said in my earlier comment, it would be interesting to see if this writing approach will be something she attempts in the future again.

Amazing extreme horror

I loved this read! Recognising the Boss, and Sanger from previous reads by this Author, all compelling extreme horror reads. They add that extra familiarity to the authors reads. I love that Sea Caummisar, the author has a dark mind and uses this as an outlet to write all the fictional books that she does. In no way do I think she should be institutionalised, what for having an imagination? There are worse actions happening in real life all around the world. Sea Caummisar, a fantastic author, highlights such devastating actions and makes it just like a horror movie. Just like a movie we can choose to watch it or read it, or we can choose something more to your personal preference. It's a choice! Not a demand! I love this read and Sea Caummisar as she doesn't shy away from harsh reality and her extreme horror stories are something that comes from her imagination, not real life. Knowing this makes it easier for me to read and at the same time enjoy the extremes of her dark mind. This read has all of that and more. I loved the dark circus idea and how Karen was so stressed she wasn't seeing things straight. Definitely recommend if you love extreme horror.

Omgosh did I love the creativity and imagination in this book of Sea’s!!! I don’t know where her dark mind comes from but it makes for one of the best authors out there. What a freaky circus. What ways can you entertain an elite group of violence seeking individuals?? What will your bet be? Will the “contestant” win, how far will they go??

I especially love Sea’s personal notes at the end of some of her books. It really lets you get to know her thoughts and a little about her process. She mentions in this one that she read a review one day about one of her
books that says ‘because an imagination like this should be in a secure facility somewhere!!’ LMFAO I love this and would be so proud to get such a review as it truly shows that she has successfully become an extreme horror author! Exactly her goal!!!

The ebook version releases Feb 29, 2024. Leap year. Get it!!! I definitely recommend this book but only if you like the goriest, most disgusting, violence riddled extreme horror out there.

Splatterpunk at it's finest, truly! What a fun and gruesome idea, a circus for the rich. Something so dark and depraved, only the disgustingly rich get invited to come see it and gamble on the outcome of the acts. I loved how this story jumped right in on the action and you were immediately at the circus, which was both familiar (if you've ever been to a circus) yet not like anything you've ever seen at any circus. I love that! Things like the trapeze act... you know what you've seen before...now ramp that up a few dozen notches and you've really got some gory circus action. Obviously, check your triggers, but really, it says Extreme Horror and Splatterpunk is the first word of this review so if you are surprised by what you're reading then you weren't paying attention and that's on you. I highly, highly recommend this story if you like a great mix of fun and gross, because this has both in abundance. So fun!! Also, read more by this author, she has an excellent imagination and a flair for the dark (in the best way possible!).

⚠️ Trigger Warning 💥 TW: Gore, Abuse 🔪 TW: Violence 🕷️ TW: Disturbing Content
She does it again, Caummisar for the WIN in the extreme horror!
Do you like the circus?? If you said YES, then you will like this novel 😊
🎪 Welcome to the circus. You will remember this one.
Karen runs the show. Her way or no way. Typical Karen. And her boss, A filthy-rich man who created a horror circus for the elite. The idea where the ticket buys you front-row seats to REAL Circus carnage.
🩸 Trapeze artists who drop victims
🪄 Magicians who saw people in half
🐘 An elephant with heavy stomps
🔥 Fireworks shoved in body parts
🩸 Innards. Weapons. GORE GORE GORE.
This book was well done. Something fun is happening every chapter. It’s twisted and grotesque while still being an entertaining circus.

WTF? AGAIN AND AGAIN!

Having read several of Sea's books and found them to be excellent EXTREME horror, Circus was special. Moving from act to act allowed for wonderful exposure to a variety of terror. The authors' creative abilities were on full display. My wife is also a published horror writer of a different genre. I have learned from her that creative writing is NOT a reflection of who the author IS but an illustration of how creative they can be. If they can do this kind of work, it only exposes their genius. An exceptional work.

I like an extreme horror book that also adds a bunch of humour and doesn’t take itself too seriously. This is the third book featuring The Boss character that I’ve read and this is the best one so far. Lashings of gore but done in such an over the top way that it almost lightens it in a way. I’ve read many books in the genre that are really depressing and dark throughout, and there’s a place for that, but it’s refreshing to find one that likes to have a bit of fun with it.

I confess that I craved a different ending, but I'm not going to find fault with someone else's creative vision.

This book is wickedly entertaining, very original, and quite well written. The pacing is great. We get lots of story between the splatter scenes.

I highly recommend this, particularly if you are a fan of My Vagina Smells like Sulfur, also by Sea Caumissar.

Beautifully brutal Sea Caummisar delivers a twisted tale catering to the obscenely wealthy. Money may not buy you happiness, but there isn't much else it can't buy you. A must-read for anyone with an affinity for the extreme.

Warped and disgusting

Definitely extreme horror. The end was more disgusting then most of her books. The story was ok. The story centers around the manager of an extreme and gory circus. Very disturbing but well written.
