Some say that what's done in the dark, eventually comes to the light. For Blake Munroe, the age old saying couldn't be more true. After having her one night only affair with a handsome stranger exposed in the worst way possible, she's ready to bounce back from this scandal healed and more determined than ever.
Witnessing the love blossoming around her sets Blake on a path to finding her own special someone. Will a worthy cowboy catch her eye or has her person been right there all along?
I definitely could have used more of Swain’s POV but I understand why it’s mostly from Blake’s. This season has a lot more running sub plot than season one and since it centers the Munroe’s it has to come from Blake. I loved the dynamics and chemistry between Swain and Bossy, that man put some lovin on her, something serious. I also enjoyed how we got more backstory on everyone and I’m enjoying the progression of this series. Since it’s a published kindle Vella story it has a different flow and to me it leans a little more fiction with romance. I’m looking forward to season three.
Season 2 was just as good, if not surprisingly better than season 1. How, Sway?!? Because Sacred was swoon-worthy. Even so, I found myself falling for the sexy and sweet singing cowboy who romanced his way into his best friend's heart. D Swain & Blake together made such a sweet couple and I loved the chemistry between the two. Now, I've gotta find out what happened to Paw Paw!
Ms. Shantae did her thing with this book. Not only was it well written and exciting, it had me ready to find the nearest rodeo and get me a cowboy. The Munroe clan was so loving and supportive of each other. They actually enjoyed and cherished their time together. Now to these friends turned lovers. Blake (Bossy) and Swain really heated things up. I can’t wait to read more about this family.
Blake “Bossy/The Bruiser” Munroe is my girl!!! I loved everything about her and this book. From the beginning, I knew I would like Blake but once I met the other characters, I was in deep with the entire Munroe clan. Shantae is killing the Kindle Vella scene but being about to read this story in its entirety in book form was a treat. She has always been a favorite of mine and after experiencing all that this season gave, she is still holding her spot! This storyline was everything… we had our drama and messiness of course but then there was Swain. The way this man loved Bossy was beautiful. He was perfect for her and gave her all the support she needed because baby girl went through some things 😩 I can’t wait for season three and the endless possibilities of who or what’s next. Shantae has created a world with such complex characters that she can take this story in so many directions, and I'll be right there with her!
(4.5⭐️)This book had all of the elements of the first one that I loved. Lovable characters, witty banter, small town, close-knit family. There was a lot of mess, but it came from outside of the relationship so I love that. I’m usually not a fan of friends to lovers but Swain & Blake’s had such good chemistry, and he’s giving top tier book boyfriend. Reassuring. Affirming. Attentive. Protective. I really enjoy this author’s writing style. It flows well and is easy to read. And I feel like I’m just spending time with my friends. I do hope the novella addresses a couple unfinished storylines. Because I want to know how Blake’s older sister makes out…
Y’all Ya’ll Ya’ll!!! Blake Munroe is EVERYTHING!! One thing I love that Shantaè is that she allows her female characters ti have balance. They have strong personalities or characteristics, but know when to calm it down. Blake didn’t take crap from anyone, yet in her most vulnerable and weakest moments she was loved through the darkest times in her life. And it was ALL D. Swain’s and her family’s love that got her through. We were able to see her character grow through some tough conflicts. And despite these issues her and Swain’s love continued to develop. This book was beautifully written and definitely taught us some lessons. The way Shantaè was able to develop the plot and include all of the characters was amazing! I hope she posts Season 3 on KU soon!
Oh wow! This was not what I envisioned. Great book. Not the ending I was looking for. Can’t wait to continue. Paw Paw got to be ok. Bossy and Sacred need to have their weddings and baby and Clarke needs to show Danon how it’s done.
I love, whiskey River season one and two! I love the evolution of Blake’s character and her openness even one thing had her back against the wall. I love her and the rest of the Munroe crew.
This was beautifully written I loved how bossy went through the process of self examination before concluding that she was ready for the love that swain had to give!! I can’t wait for season three!!
This book started off slow then got good. Only for it to drag on. I skimmed most of the book and then when I got to about 80% I gave up. It just was about a lot of nothing. Definitely liked the first book better
Very similar to the first in the series but still a good read and some good tips for healthy relationships. Chili bowl bob had me screaming out loud. Love the humor in these books. It’s ok to say eyes here and there.
Good, but not as good as the first, for me. This tried to add more angst and I was hoping for something closer to the first story. I also had issue with some of the pacing. Meh. Still lookin forward to future seasons and cousins stories.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, particularly the bond between Swain and Sacred. I admired Swain's unwavering support for Blake, as well as her family's consistent presence in her life. The connection between Blake and her sister-cousins was also heartwarming. It was clear that Swain and Blake were meant to be together.
