“…Perfect Romantic Suspense…This is an action packed book from beginning to end.” ~Kaylyn Davis
Teri Riggs was destined to be a writer. As a small girl she didn’t read bedtime stories, she made up her own. Who needed Little Red Riding Hood or The Three Little Pigs when there were so many great tales bouncing around in her head? When she grew up and became a mother to three little girls, she continued the tradition of making up bedtime stories. On the occasions she chose to tell conventional fairytales, Teri usually gave them a bit of tweaking here and there or added a new ending. Her girls loved it. After her daughters had the nerve to actually grow up and leave home, Teri discovered she had a passion for writing and jumped right in. It came as no surprise she chose to write mysteries and happily-ever-after’s since that’s the genres she loves to read. Teri lives in Marietta, Georgia with her husband, one of her daughters and two dogs that seem to think they rule the world. And some days Teri thinks maybe they do.
Teri still frequently tells herself stories as she falls asleep. The only difference now is she wakes up the next morning and turns her bedtime stories into books.
Good story, I liked how Eve was strong and didn't let the head of the cartel break her, and how Mac was still there for her even if they were not together.
Eve Taylor is a DEA agent who gets captured during a mission to steal important data from a huge Columbian drug lord. Dillon McKenna (Mac) is a Resolutions' operative sent in to rescue Eve. Eve and Mac have an intense history. Their relationship ended two years ago when Eve was promoted to field agent and Mac told her to choose the job or him. Mac has some definite alpha tendencies, and struggles a lot with his desire to keep Eve safe from harm. His mother was killed working as a nurse while doing dangerous work for the U.N. Mac is afraid that he will lose Eve as well, even though his ultimatum already took her away from him.
This book is full of action right from the start. There are few moments when the main characters are not in danger, but being stuck together during these extreme circumstances has both Eve and Mac realizing quickly that their love for and attraction to one another is still going strong. Their passion is definitely in tact, but they quickly fall into old patterns of arguing about Mac not wanting Eve to put herself in danger, and Eve feeling like he doesn't think she is qualified for field work. As they fight together to retrieve the data Eve originally came for and to stay alive when a major drug lord is actively out to get them, they start to realize that they make a good fighting team. Mac begins to reevaluate some of his destructive thoughts and notions about Eve doing field work as he repeatedly gets to witness her extreme competence in the field. To top it all off, there is clearly someone from inside the DEA who is feeding information to the cartel and exposing any safe places and plans that Eve and Mac are trying to utilize.
I loved Eve. She was a strong smart lady who would allow herself to be tortured and killed before revealing any information to her captors. She cares enough about herself to do the job she knows she is great at even if it costs her a relationship she desperately wants. Mac was definitely frustrating at times, but watching him evolve and try to be the person Eve needs was pretty great. Throughout the story I was really hoping that first of all they would live through everything, but also that they would be able to figure out a way to be together since it was obvious how great they could be. I would read more books by this author in the future.

Trying to get my mind around writing this review....This book is definitely a FIVE STAR page turner! I read it on my Kindle (text to speech) during my long commute to work and found myself taking the long way home to savor this gripping, suspenseful jewel. From page one, you are drawn into the life that special agent Eve Taylor lives. She's beautiful, smart, accomplished in her craft and to say the least, tenacious. She won't give into the male-dominated world of special ops for one minute. She's the best and will fight to the end to prove herself! She battles hard and fast to stake her claim to being one of the best agents Resolutions has. No amount of beating, torturing or fear for life stand in her way. She's on a mission to bring down the evil Columbian drug lord Miguel. You will swear you are right there with her. Details are impeccable right down to the bullets ripping flesh. Oh, and did I mention the love/hate relationship between Mac and Eve? It's hot....smoldering hot. Mac, the alpha male thinks he knows Eve, but she won't give in. There is a who dunnit that leaves you gasping when you find out...I swear this nail biter is a MUST READ! If you crave a good mystery, laced with romance and intrigue then this is a book for you. Teri Riggs KNOWS her stuff and I cannot wait to read her next masterpiece. If there were more stars to score, I would have..... Kudos and I kneel down to you Teri Riggs. You've made me a most happy reader, who is proud to review this book with fire resolution;)
An exciting and sexy thrill ride, Resolutions has it all: a super hot alpha male hero, a bad ass female lead, steamy sex, suspense, surprises, and a satisfying second chance romance.
I love romantic suspense, especially when our female lead is a kick ass operative who stands toe to toe with dangerous drug lords, fights alongside her sexy male counterparts (and saves their asses!), but still has a touch of sexy femininity. With their intense chemistry and rocky past, Eve and Mac are a fun couple to follow as they do their jobs as operatives and still manage to find time for some hot sex. Though it seems pretty clear they belong together, they certainly struggle to get it right (but when they do, it's worth the wait!).
The plot is action-packed, with violence, suspense, intrigue, betrayal, and plenty of unexpected twists and turns. It a sexy and exciting story with fun characters and even a dose of humor. A great read (or listen)!
I listened to the audiobook version and did not read the actual book. I was fine with but didn't love the performance. The narrator was a bit robotic and it made the dialogue sound stiff. It didn't interfere with my listening experience, though a different narrator could have improved it.
*I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for a fair and honest review.
This is a great romantic suspense! It was also a strong 5 star for me right up until the very, very, VERY end. That was when I realized that, while Mac was forced to grow and develop as a character, Eve stayed the same stubborn, hard-nosed woman with no compromise (something they discussed often) whatsoever. No growth, no change, no...well, anything! She wouldn't even allow Mac to explain or try to work out a compromise right up until the last page turned. He did all the work, all the groveling and all the changing in the relationship. Nope, nope, nope. While strong women are awesome to read, there needs to be at least a tad of softness and work on HER part as well as on his in order to make her sympathetic or even likable. That one downfall is truly the only drawback in this, otherwise riveting story, though. From the very first page, it has the reader cocked, loaded and turning those pages!
Resolutions by Teri Riggs is a fast-paced thriller with enough twists and turns that the reader will be surprised again and again. This is romantic suspense as it is meant to be: sexy and dangerous, gritty yet loving, and ultimately very satisfying.
Eve Taylor is a strong woman, capable and determined. She's a good leader and a great DEA agent. There's just one thing wrong. The man she loves doesn't want her to be those things. He wants her to be safe and secure, protected. When a raid goes bad and Eve is stranded and taken prisoner, all his worst fears come into play. Mac loves Eve with everything in him, but he needs her to be safe, until that is, he sees her in action. The underlying issue between Eve and Mac is her job and his need for her safety.
This is a wild ride, romantic thriller, not a character-driven, relationship building type of book. That's exactly what it needs to be. The gritty chase, the danger, the fear: they fuel the plot and characters with a high octane blend that keeps the pages turning. There's no putting this book down once you start, if only to find out who is wreaking havoc. The scorching scenes between Eve and Mac are tempered with gentle loving as they fall back into old rhythms and habits. A fiendish drug lord, a rogue agent, and a great team round out the cast of characters.
If you like romantic suspense, you'll definitely want to read Resolutions.
~3.5 Star~ This is an action packed book from beginning to end. It has twists and turns that keep you guessing. I loved the fact that I was totally thrown by the villain and I was completely off base by who I thought betrayed Eve.
Eve is stubborn and hardheaded woman. I liked her most of the time however I did think she made things more difficult for herself for herself by baiting her captors. That was not something she would have been taught, in fact they would have taught her to not do that. She was very good at her job and I felt bad for her finding out she had a mole. That betrayal stung badly and she had no problem getting her vengeance to save her lives.
Mac is an alpha male but he got a little caveman at times. I think he just struggled with putting Eve in harm’s way after losing his mom. Once he saw that Eve was good at her job he realized that maybe he was wrong about his preconceived notions. He isn’t the most eloquent and it does get him in trouble with Eve a time or two. lol
Talk about a trip from hell. Torture, being shot at, being captured then betrayed oh and in country where no speaks English. That would drive a woman to tears but not Eve she put on her big girl panties. The plot is hooks you. While I did have some problems at times with the main characters it was still a very good read. This is a wild ride which I suggest you take if you like romantic suspense.
Resolutions by Teri Riggs was hard to put down. This is a thriller where the heroine takes her sh.are of beatings. Eve works for the DEA she's been a successful field agent for two years. Her mission is ti get into drug lord Miguel Mendoza's office and upload computer files. Since she can't upload the files she puts them on a flash drive. While maneuvering around his computer she found files detailing his involvement with Afghan terrorist for a chemical attack on the white house and the Pentagon. While escaping they are found out and Eve gets shot in the shoulder. She can't complete her mission. Realizing shes going to be captured she buried the flash drive. Carlos Salazar, Mendoza's number one man catches her. He is a beast. He punches her in the jaw and throw her into the cellar after removing her weapons and boots. The DEA makes a contract with Resolutions to rescue Eve and get the flash drive.Mac McKenna heads the detail. Mac and Eve were an item until Eve got promoted to field agent. He told her it was too dangerous and gave her the choice him or the job. She chose the job. Read on to see if Mac finds success in rescuing Eve.
This was a brilliant read. I loved everything, from the storyline, to the characters, to the authors writing style. You get sucked in from the first page, with the likeable characters of Eve and Mac. Well, at times, I wanted to slap Mac, shake him hard, and tell him to buck up his ideas. But he came through for me in the end. I love a strong assed woman and boy, do you get that with Eve. She fought, for her freedom time and time again and dealt with so much. This girl, is one you don't mess with. Her only weakness was Mac, the arrogant, hot headed, sexy man that he is. When they give into their desires, the sex scenes are written, nicely to fit in with the whole plot. I love it, when an author, can make you feel, so much hatred towards the bad guys, believe me she did it well. If you love to read action packed, fast paced, with romance thrown in stories, this book is perfect for you. I highly recommend it.
Invigorating! Resolutions is Action-Packed! May 24, 2014 “Resolutions” is a Romantic Suspense that delivers romance, excitement and thrill.
A strong heroine lead…agents…drug-lords…terrorists…and hot romance…This read is filled with action, suspense and an undeniable chemistry. My emotions were energized!
Eve Taylor is our DEA agent. She is a strong independent woman who is highly skilled. Mac is with the Black Ops Resolutions. Eve wants to be treated as an equal but when this was jeopardized, she was gone. Mac just wanted to protect her. He felt things were too dangerous. Now a mission against a drug-lord and terrorists pulls them back together and Mac sees Eve’s capabilities as an agent. Will they survive? And learn to trust and love?
This was my first read of Ms. Riggs and I definitely will add her to my favorite authors list!
Resolutions was a definite page turner that kept me up all night. Eve Taylor is an amazing female lead, ballsy, strong, sexual and all woman. Resolutions is an action packed thrill ride with a fantastic love story too! If you haven't read this, then I highly recommend it. I can't wait to read more from the fantastic Teri Riggs!
If you've read any of my previous reviews, you know I don't like spoilers, they do what they say on the tin. So I'll just explain what I loved without giving anything away.
Who doesn't love a girl that can kick ass? A girl who can take care of herself? That's Eve Taylor, she's a likeable character too, which is great. Her dedication to her cause is brought across fantastically by Riggs, as is her dedication to her team. In Mac, Riggs has given us a hunk of a man who irritates the hell out of Eve, and the reader in this case. He has all the swagger and sex appeal you want, but the attitude towards powerful women of a mid fifties advertising exec (who shall remain nameless). He's a great juxtaposition of the classic love interest and makes the banter between the two far more interesting.
Riggs has spun a fantastic story that keeps you guessing and has you really pulling for the good guys in the end. Five stars!
I enjoyed reading Resolutions, it was a good break from non-fiction that I usually pick up. When Eve & Mac reunite they have so much going against their relationship. Eve has so much blame on Mac for the failure of the previous relationship she has to soul search herself and also take responsibility for it in order to move on to a healthier relationship with Mac.
If you love suspense and romance and sensual interactions between your hero and heroine, this is the book for you. No spoilers here. You'll have to figure out the ending for yourself...if you can. A great book and an even better writer. Thanks, Teri Riggs! Job well done.
I received an ARC of this book in return for an honest opinion which I’m happy to give.
I’d never heard of the author Teri Riggs and a story based around a Columbian drug ring wouldn’t be my usual choice of book either but I like to try new authors and books and I’m so glad I did. It was brilliant! The book is fast paced, action filled, terrifying and at times emotional and romantic.
Eve and her team of special agents enter the compound of Miguel Mendoza, a major Columbian drugs lord so that she can copy the files on his computer, vital evidence the DEA needs to bring him to justice. She managed to do this successfully but whilst they were trying to escape the compound they were ambushed. A gun fight ensued, one of the team was killed, others injured including Eve. She was captured and that’s really where the story began. Teri took me on an emotional journey as Eve was literally brought to her knees, tortured and battered but more than proved her worth as a special agent. My heart beat faster and I literally held my breath at each encounter Eve had to endure with Mendoza’s men. Eve’s strength of character and sheer focus on her mission was awe inspiring. Just when I thought she was at breaking point and wouldn’t survive another beating a rescue team managed to infiltrate the compound and successfully escape with Eve.
Let battle number two begin! The rescue team was led by Mac, Eve’s former lover who is clearly very much in love with her. He and his team manage to get her to a safe house where Eve can receive the medical care she urgently needs before she can be flown home. As Eve slowly regains consciousness she finds out who her rescuer was and the sparks began to fly. The two very clearly still loved each other but the reasons for their split resurface. Mac a typical alpha male wants to protect his ‘woman’ and can’t accept that she is on the frontline and in danger. He’d like her behind a desk safely at home. Eve has other ideas, she has proven her worth and earned her role as a leading DEA agent and thinks he should accept that and if he can’t well tough the job wins!
In the short term however, they were in Columbia and had to learn to trust each other again in order to protect themselves and get out of the country alive. The story is told from both Eve’s and Mac’s perspectives at this point - so rare to get the full story. It is fair to say that Mac is seriously impressed with Eve’s strength of character and commitment to her mission but finds it difficult not to play the heavy handed ’alpha’ male which ensures we are taken on an emotional roller coaster which puts their lives at risk. What happened when Eve finds out she had been betrayed by a member of her own team and has to head back to Mendoza’s home to retrieve the memory stick she had hidden this time with Mac as her partner?
I read this just before bed over the course of three evenings and thoroughly enjoyed it. I was disappointed when it ended and will definitely be seeking out more of Teri Riggs. Thank you to JB Johnson for letting me be part of the Promo Blitz for Resolutions by Teri Riggs.

Mac is upset when he discovers her partner DEA agent, Rex Brewer, left her behind on the mission, because Mac believes strongly in the Army Ranger Creed, No man left behind. Mac not only torn because she was left behind, but also because he also was battling his own poor decision when he gave Eve an ultimatum to pick him or his career and she picked her career. Mac did not want Eve to work as a DEA in the field, because he had suffered the loss of his mother who worked for the United Nations during the First Persian Gulf War and felt no one protected her. The love Mac has for Eve is something he has tried for two years to push out of his mind and heart, because he never wanted feel the guilt eat away at his soul like when he lose his mother when he was thirteen years old and he could not protect her either.

Will Mac learn to calm his alpha male ways and learn to compromise with Eve, so they can try a relationship for the second time? Will Eve and Mac’s hearts be broken or will their hearts be mended, so they can both move forward in their lives?
Author Teri Riggs romance novel, Resolutions, has done an AMAZING job writing a LOVE STORY DEMANDING YOUR HEART AND SOUL capturing your attention immediately, and find yourself unable to put the book down. You will also experience a roller coaster of emotions from feeling SCARED, SADNESS, SUSPENSE, SHOCKED, TRAGEDY, ACTION, HUMOR, and TENDERNESS.
I rate Teri Riggs’s novel in the Honor Guard series, Resolutions – 5 SHOOTING STARS!
Resolutions by Teri Riggs is a fun first novel in the Honor Guard series. A typical steamy romantic suspense, a genre that I love reading now and then, features the hot alpha male Mac (Dillon McKenna) and Eve Taylor, who get together again to save their country and each other as well.
Eve and Mac were once a hot couple, full of love, romance and passion, right until Eve got promoted to field agent, which didn’t set very well with Dillon, who wanted his woman at home safe from any bullets, knives and bad guys. Macs reasoning behind his overprotective attitude towards Eve comes from his mother having died as a nurse during the war. Mac doesn’t want Eve to have the same fate.
On the other hand this promotion means everything to Eve, who chooses her career over Mac’s demands.
Two years passed, during which time they stayed away from each other. Now Eve is a respected and well loved operative who is extremely good at what she does. However due to someone’s betrayal, she is now an unwilling prisoner of a famous and ruthless Colombian drug lord, Mendoza, who keeps her locked in his dungeon cell when he is not beating her up for the sensitive information that she stole from him. He wants to know just how much of his intel he stole and whether she already passed on the flash drive with the information to the US government. Of course, Even being the tough operative and patriot, she wouldn’t give up this information even under heavy abuse.
And this is where Mac enters the action. Despite their being apart for 2 years, he soon realizes that he literally can’t live without her. He has to save her from the drug lord monster, which he does, just moments before she is killed by one of the villain’s goons.
However the danger is not over. Someone close to either Eve or Mac is a spy for the drug lord, which gives the Colombian an edge putting him one step ahead all the time. And this makes it quite difficult for the couple to return to the compound to steal again the information that Even couldn't pass on to the government before being captured.
Resolution is a fun first novel by Teri Riggs, one that I enjoyed reading and now I’m looking forward to the second in the Honor guard series.
(ARC received from author in exchange for an honest review)
OK who is Teri Riggs and where have you been hiding all my life? Seriously, why haven’t I heard of this author before because holy hotness batwoman that was some kick ass adventure!
I love it when I find a book where the female is more alpha than the male, although on this occasion I think they are both just as alpha as each other which makes for a stormy ride. I love how Eve stands up for herself and as stated in the book has ‘bigger balls’ than her male counterparts while also being female. Let me rewind and start from the beginning. Eve is a DEA agent who has been sent in to a Columbian drug lords home to hack in to his computer files and get out of there. She gets in just fine but getting out again is another story when she is captured and tortured by said Columbian drug lord. Mac or Dillon is her ex and the reason he’s her ex is because he believes the little lady shouldn’t be out in the line of fire and should be locked behind a 9-5 desk. Kick ass Eve vs Caveman Mac = EXPLOSIONS.
The storyline was literally an adventure through the Columbian jungle with guns & explosions & murders & torture & everything. It had me hooked from the start and I couldn’t even put the thing down! I started reading it after waking up at 3am this morning and didn’t stop until I had finished. The book flowed really well and the as the book progressed I was drawn in to the point I was visualising the story and not just reading words off the page. The descriptive writing was perfect, I tend to get bored really quickly with descriptive writing but Teri got it right and kept my interest all the way through in this regard. All the characters were well placed and they all served a purpose, I’m hoping we see more of some of them in future books for their own stories. The story progressed well and wrapped up timely. The air of mystery was as such that I couldn’t have guessed the outcome.
I really did enjoy this read and I’ll look forward to reading more from this author in the future!
If I have ever complained about a heroine not being ballsy enough, which I know I have, then Resolutions takes the cake with Eve Taylor. She is a take-no-shit DEA agent at the heart of a dangerous drug lord's investigation and when she is taken captive by said lord, you think she might crumble and need a prince charming to save her but she does not. Now, there is a prince in this story named Dillon Mckenna, AKA Mac, but at the end of the day Eve is a partner in kicking-ass, not some damsel in distress. These two have history and I'm not even talking about on the job history, so when he is part of her rescue things get a little dicey. At the end of the day, however, they both end up learning a lot about themselves and just how well they compliment each other.
I don't have one iota of negativity towards Eve what so ever. She embodies everything I love in a female lead. Tough, focused, and doesn't need a man to help with her with anything, she completely takes control of situations and gets the job done. I loved that. No romance story would be complete without the "other" so of course we needed Mac to move the story along, but I loved how she put him in place at times when she needed and didn't let his Alpha-male attitude stop her from doing the things she deems right. She is the best at what she does, she knows it and she acts accordingly. I love a female character that has some good decision making skills and Eve certainly does.
Those characteristics in Eve are what propelled this DEA/drug lord/cop drama from borrowing and over-told to interesting enough to keep me glued to the page every second of the way. I am a little tired of men in these stories thinking they have to protect women and they shouldn't do this kind of job, but Eve solved that problem for me by letting Mac know exactly how she feels about all that nonsense. Their back stories combined with their tangible passion for each other made this story great and their journey to being where they are at the end of the book made it all worth it for me.
Well I should of known since I have been wanting to read this book for since I have seen it that I should of known better than to start it right before I had stuff to do. I do think anymore that good books need to come with warning labels that say beware will be taken and not let go until you are finished. I opened the pages with right off the starting gate this author has transported me to another country with the character Eve who is on a serious mission. Action is knee deep and rolling with my hands a gripping sucking it all in quickly. Oh doggy this girl is one hot stuff too, even in the hot water she is in she has more gonads than alot of guys. Of course background stuff is calling for me to do while I turn one more page. This is one action packed novel is any more packed I am thankful I did not wait any longer to pick this up or slap me silly would of been my fate. I have read alot of special ops books but this is got some very daring stuff right away but does not stop there. Some do that have sparadic action but filled with chatter and heat. This author knows how to mix the two perfectly the heat being how she feels for one Dillon McKenna or known as Mac. He definitly fits my bill of one who is built and packs alot of you get the drift. Rescue he does so well and they will do more than chat about the weather while getting away from danger. This author does fantastic taking you along with these two from the onset of her rescue that the beginning is tame compared to some of the situations they will face. The really enjoyable part in all this is the ability this author had to keep me excited through it all without knowing what was going to be next. On occasion I would be found shouting come on come on then not to be forgotten the desire that builds once again between these two could of caused a fire. Not to be a spoils sport and give to much away for someone else if given the chance this novel is not to be missed and well worth the time it interfers with anything else hehe. Danger, romance, and justice that ends in love oh boy just perfect.
Eve Taylor is a tough as nails DEA agent leading her team on a mission to take down an infamous Columbian drug lord named Mendoza. Suddenly, with the end of her mission in sight everything goes south, and she is captured by the sadistic Mendoza. After a week of pure hell her rescuer comes in the package of Resolutions operative Mac. Mac was her lover until she went from desk jockey to her goal as a field agent. He tried to clip her wings, and she flew away. Now there is a mission that needs completed and she has been partnered with Mac. The chemistry between them is there, but she can’t trust that the alpha male in Mac can come to grips with her career.
I want to be Eve! Who wouldn’t want to be a kick ass sexy agent? She puts herself on the line and can handle her dangerous career as well as any man if not better! Her bravery is admirable, and quit is just not a word that is in her vocabulary. Like I said before, Dylan “Mac” McKenna is the complete alpha male. He lays his life on the line as an operative, and he is fiercely protective of what is “his”. I really liked the sexy Mac, but he has a way of putting his foot in his mouth where Eve is concerned. Although Eve finds it infuriating, I found the way his mouth was always overriding his brain kind of endearing!
I was really impressed with Riggs’ story. Talk about a story that was nonstop action! If Eve and Mac weren’t fighting bad guys they were fighting each other, and if they weren’t fighting each other they were burning up the sheets! Riggs storytelling is going to get your heart pumping one way or the other! She really focused on setting the scenes and the mood of the characters for the reader to take in. It was very easy to imagine yourself in the jungles of Columbia. I am pretty sure while I was reading I dodged a bullet or two!
If romantic suspense is your thing, this is your book! I am a fan of everything romance and I enjoyed the novel very much. I really hope to see more from Teri Riggs very soon!
I received the book from the Touring Host for an honest review. With strong and believable characters, the author kept your attention throughout the book. With daring acts of heroism, torture and greed, this was an action pack book from beginning to end. The heated encounters between our two main characters kept you wondering if the two will finally commit. Both equally stubborn, headstrong and deeply in love as they had to learn how to compromise and work together to safe the day. Eve Taylor was not willing to be told what to do, finding her own way as she trained to be a highly skilled agent working for the DEA. Running from four alpha male brothers and then Mac, she knew she could stand on her own feet without their constant protection. She was tough, lethal and strong. Her time in the cells of her tormentor made you realize that she could handle much more than the average woman could. There was just no stopping her. Dillon McKenna or Mac was in love with this woman, although he refused to admit it after a two-year separation. He wanted her safe, away from the danger zones of the world, the reason she walked away in the first place. His past was a constant reminder that he was not willing to compromise at this point. When they met, again under gruesome circumstances he knew that he had to compromise. With pride, he watched as she rose from the sick bed and completed the operation needed to shut the evil down. Miguel Mendoza was the epitome of evil. A drug lord with no thought of everyone's life but his own. Seeking revenge after Mac had wounded him some time ago during another operation that cost him more than his leg. It was a battle of wills at the end, who would win? The good guys or the bad guys. The pendulum was always shifting to keep the suspense throughout the story. With startling revelations and heated pages as these two met, it was an enjoyable read and a book I will recommend.
Terri Riggs knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat and panting all at the same time. Resolutions was an erotic trip with a strong characters that draw you in and leave you wanting more.
Mac sexy spy that had me groaning and it was not from his incredible kissing capabilities. (well okay maybe just a little part was that.)*Grins* The man drove me nuts. I wanted to knock him up beside his head and say, ” Get a clue man!” Ms. Riggs spared nothing with this hero. Mac knows something’s got to give but can he give Eve what she wants and needs?
Eve Taylor is G.I Jane to the max. Eve had me gasping and laughing throughout the whole book. I enjoyed her I can play with the boys attitude, but i have to admit I liked that Ms. Riggs gave us a softer Eve as well it gave her character a lighter side. Eve just wants to have a certain guy know that she is capable to handle things just as good as he can. Can she convince him? Will she be able to trust handing her heart to him?
Mac and Eve one on one are a force to be reckon but together they are explosive in and out of the bedroom. Two years is a long time to wait to admit things went a rye, so when Mac got the call that Eve needed him he was on his way to the enemy camp. Can Mac, Eve and their teams make it out of the jungles in Columbia alive?
The secondary characters added flair and fun to both the plot and the main characters. Ms. Riggs kept you on your toes with who the mole was. I did enjoy how even in the wake of the seriousness of the mission, the teams had their own way of lightening things up. The plot was a master piece! I read this book straight through. Eve is definitely my “Wonder Woman” heroine of 2013. Action packed and hot steam scenes that will leave you breathless. This being my first Terri Riggs book you can count on my stalking her in the future. Now we need Cade’s book, he is lonely. *smiles*
Resolutions is the first in the Honor Guard series and it is non-stop action from beginning to end as we follow the hero and heroine from one dangerous situation to another. I enjoyed these alpha characters, both male and female as they fight their way to freedom and vanquish the Colombian drug lord.
In the beautiful wilds of San Carlos Lucas, Colombia we find DEA agents from IDEA dealing with a mission that has gone wrong. Eve Taylor and her team are trying to get to the helicopter with their precious flash drive which is holding information that could destroy Mendoza and his cartel. But they are overrun and with two members down, Mendoza’s men surround Eve and capture her.
A week later, she is half dead from torture and beatings while being held by Mendoza, they try to get information from her and Eve is hoping that she can hold on until someone comes or she can escape. In the meantime IDEA has hired Dillon McKenna (Mac), a Resolutions operative to help get her out, hopefully without an “I told you so” as Eve and Mac have history together and it did not end well.
As Mac and Eve run from one dangerous situation to another they realize what they mean to each other and must deal with the ramifications, and yet the danger ramps up as Mendoza closes in and they believe there is a traitor in their midst that thwarts their every move.
I read this in one sitting; I could not put it down, needing to know the end. Eve is a kick-ass woman and can take anything that is thrown at her...
I loved this book and couldn't put it down once I started. This story had all my favorite elements - highly trained men and women working together for the greater good. Eve, the heroine in this book, is quite a strong character physically and emotionally. She is on a mission with her team which goes south and Eve ends up injured, captured and ... well you can guess being held prisoner is no picnic. She endures, somehow, until she is finally rescued. And the story gets even better from this point, One of her rescuer's, Mac, is an ex-lover of Eve's. Sparks still fly when they interact with each other, making us believe that although they have parted ways in the past, their feelings for each other are very much alive.
Eve is still recovering from her injuries when she and Mac go on the run from the bad guys. The action is intense, the threats feel real, my heart sped up like I was in the midst of the action myself.
Even though this is a military romance novel, it is so rare that you find a strong heroine that can hold her own with the men, especially a trained operative. Yes, I read to escape my real world for awhile, and I lean towards reading stories where trained military and law enforcement characters are able to hold their own in an op even if they are a female. The story was well written and it had plenty of chemistry. I am putting this book on my "favorites" shelf, so I can find it easily and reread when I want to.
If you are into “Black Ops” and dynamite strong women as operatives you will love and appreciate Resolutions by one talented and gifted author Teri Riggs. This novel is action packed, nail biting, hold your breath chronicle of drug lords and the U.S. Government's agency IDEA. Teri Riggs brings the fire, excitement, pain and glory of a powerhouse team of operatives who are out to eliminate the dirty dealings and death warrants of the Miguel Mendoza's.
The level of expertise in formulating Resolutions into a believable saga, with realistic language, dialogue and other prominent story elements are so keenly composed that Ms. Riggs' research is apparent and so right on.
Resolutions by Teri Riggs is by far one of the best adventure, suspenseful, government based IDEA books I have read in a while. I have only the highest recommendation for this novel and author. It will appeal to both men and women because of the dynamite implementation of the suspense and action. Resolutions would make a hell of a good movie.
I will read another Teri Riggs book in a “New York” second. I hope she is able to crank them out quickly with the same high quality as this one. Way to go Ms. Riggs, you truly have a proclivity for composing narratives loaded with high intense action and drama. I am looking forward to following your work.
I received this book for review from the author. I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
There is violence that will make you cringe. But in order to tell the story properly it needs to be there - you just may want to read on an empty stomach. I’m a person that doesn’t handle pain well, mine or anyone else’s, so be warned that the scenes are graphic.
One great thing about this book is that the action is non-stop. You think things are going to start to turn around for Mac and Eve – you would be wrong. But then I have to question – would you continue to read if it did? Our author does a great job of describing her scenes that it feels as if you are right there.
This is a high-energy story that you will not want to put down, violence and all. If you’re someone that doesn’t handle explicit scenes very well, just try reading it during the day. The action, suspense, and even the romance are well worth it. Violence goes on all over the world so Teri isn’t adding anything that probably doesn’t exist somewhere. I hope you will add this to your shelf.
