Rate this book
A pop-punk keyboardist carries an unrequited love for his firefighting best friend. With a newfound self-discovery, will their friendship ignite into something more?

Milo Richardson
I was stupid and fell hard for my straight best friend, but he can’t find out. Our friendship is too important to destroy it with my feelings.
When he took a firefighting job two hours away, it made my life easier and I satisfied myself with gig hookups.
Now he’s transferred home and I’m back to where I was, longing for him.
Even if he’s looking at me differently, do I dare take a chance?

Ryder Scott

I’m transferring to a fire department back home to be close to my family and my best friend.
But the guy I hooked up with a few weeks ago is warning me to come clean with Milo and tell him about my questioning.
Am I queer? I’m not sure yet. But Milo’s presence lights an unfamiliar fire.
When did he start captivating me? When did his scent become a craving? More than my heart is taking notice.
Would it be so bad if we became more than friends?
And will he stick around after he graduates college in a few months?

Christie Gordon is the author of steamy, heartfelt gay romance novels that explore the emotional journey of men discovering themselves and finding love. It all started when she stumbled upon MM fanfiction by accident—and let's just say, it was love at first read. Inspired by the genre's mix of passion and complexity, Christie transitioned from reading about men in love to writing her own stories. After taking fiction writing classes at a local community college, she published her first MM romance novel in 2009 with a small press, and she’s never looked back.
When she’s not writing, Christie watches boys-love dramas, creates digital art, or is serenaded by her snoring one-eyed rescue pug. A graduate of both Electrical Engineering (BS) and Business Administration (MBA), she spends her "day job" navigating the high-tech world, but her heart belongs to the characters who live in her books. Christie currently resides in the Phoenix metro area, though she’s also lived in California’s Bay Area and Minnesota (which probably explains her deep love of pumpkin spiced latte coffees and hockey).
She’s also the proud mother of two young-adult sons who provide plenty of material for stories—usually in the form of chaotic shenanigans. But no matter what, Christie’s always up for a new adventure, whether it's on the page or in the real world.

I am a total sucker for best friends to lovers and Christie Gordon delivers a sweet and emotional story that hits all the right notes. As sad as I am to reach the end of the Rock U series, I'm glad that Milo and Ryder finally get together and the Band Wives are now a complete set!

There was a lot of redemption, family and growth in this book and it was wonderful to see!

I'm glad we're staying in the greater Mesa universe for the next spin off - hockey!

What a fantastic read!!! this book is about the last member of the group Milo, who is there keyboard part of the group, Knot me. This was the book I was waiting for. I was always intrigued by Milo and this book was just beautiful. You see Milo has been in love with his best friend Ryder since they were in fourth grade. He had many hook ups thinking, maybe that would help him get over Ryder but it never worked. And now his best friend is coming back to the area, he is a firefighter and is transferred to be home near his family and Milo.
Ryder has gone through a few changes since Milo saw him last. You see he had hooked up with one of his gay workmates and is now thinking he’s bisexual. And he was nervous to tell his best friend who is gay should that make a difference?? It also meant he had to come out to his family. He wasn’t worried about his dad or sister, but constantly worried about what his mum would think of him. But as soon as he saw Milo everything changed, the attraction he felt was off the charts. Milo was just different. He was gorgeous and Ryder. May possibly be too late as Milo has been getting close to one of the guys he’s hooked up with.
So what would happen when Ryder told Milo he was bisexual.?? Would Milo tell him he’s been in love with him for years??

This book bowed me over. I absolutely adored the friendship. These two lads knew how to communicate. They knew how to keep that communication open, so no one felt they had to hide their feelings away. The passion between Milo and Ryder wooohooo it is so hot. Please don’t read this on the train home because I’m telling you now your cheeks are gonna be burning red. These two are just perfection for one another, and they are true soulmates and I am gutted that this is the last book in the series. It was great that the other boys in the band and their band wives were all over this book
I’m really excited to the next series.
I received a advance reading copy of this book from the author, and this is me, leaving my honest review .

"Leaving Ryder alone with Silas probably wasn’t a good thing."

I guess if the series has to end, this was the perfect way to do it. Milo and Ryder's story is hands down my favorite of them all. I'll admit, I'm a little surprised. Best friends to lovers is not a favorite trope of mine as they too often are either awkward or unbelievable. I mean, how can you go from platonic friends for years to lovers? It usually just doesn't work for me. But Christine showed us exactly how to do it right.

Milo has always been adorable. I always felt there had to be a reason he was such a superficial tart with men. All his casual hookups - he was hiding a secret futile love!

Ryder was wonderful! His bisexual awakening and transition was one of the most natural I've ever seen. And I loved how both sets of parents commented on how the two had always been closer than most friends growing up. So cute! There already existing love, closeness and trust in each other made it so not an instalove. If anything, everything that happened seemed right, almost destined.

There is another plot besides their love story that I'm not divulging. You'll have to read about it yourself. I will say this, the situation and the resolution all made me cry. You'll see why when you read it. It was beautiful!

I'm sad to see the series end but happy that the spin-off series will provide opportunities to see the band and their wives in the future. I'm also very intrigued as we did get a tiny hint that Leo was hiding something. And Archer was such a nice guy I'm happy he's going to find a love of his own.

I just finished reading my second book by Christie Gordon, and let me tell you, it left me in such a happy mood. Boy, does she know how to bring the happy ever after!

Although I must confess, I liked the first book (actually the fifth in the series) “Protect My Heart” a little better. It had more drama and intrigue with a bodyguard and a few gangsters, creating some great action.

This second book (sixth in the series) “More Than a Spark” was about the love that lasts a lifetime. Milo Richardson and Ryder Scott were made for each other, and it took one of them way too many years to realize it. But when he finally does, nothing could ever destroy that love.

Christie Gordon provides pages and pages of the sweetest, most touching examples of how that love is manifested. I was right there with them through the pain, the heartache, the difficult moments, and all the love that they and their friends had to share. I loved every minute of it.

I have to admit, I’m such a softy. I have to be careful sometimes because I don’t want my husband to catch me tearing up when reading Christie’s books. She’s very good at weaving a tale, and I can’t get enough.

The entire group of guys in the Rock U series are all amazing characters. With this being the sixth in the series, I feel like I am missing out on so much of the love, fun, heartbreak, action, and entire world these guys are living in. I can’t wait to read the first four books in the series.

Another 5-star rating for Christie Gordon!

A cute, low angst romance. The connection between Riley and Milo was so strong. Their friendship and love obvious, but as things changed between them they only got better. The story is low on drama and high on sweetness. It's an easy read, with characters you can't help but like. No real miscommunication, in this one. This pair are upfront…they talk….they listen….I really liked that. On their path to their HEA, there’s some baggage unpacking for both of them to do, but they get there relatively painlessly, with the help of each other and their wonderful friends. The dialogue and interactions between all the friends was fun and real, I do like a good found family story. Sometimes a stress free read is just what you need, the ending had me smiling. 4.5 🌟s.

Finlay Cole does a cracking job as narrator, he really shows the bond between Milo and Riley, and brought them to life. I do enjoyed how upbeat the story is.

This was my first book in this series and I really enjoyed it! Although I didn’t read the other 5 books before this one, I didn’t get lost in all the different characters. In fact I enjoyed each one of them as they appeared and will most likely go back and read the rest of the series.

This story was not a slow burn which I liked, the pining did not go on for too long. Milo and Ryder were sweet and attentive to each other, I enjoyed how their romantic relationship developed. There was very little angst which was nice. What little angst there was, was resolved quickly. There was no breakup! I loved that ❤️

Overall I think this was a well resounded story and I really enjoyed it. I will read the author again.

I received this as an arc in exchange for an honest review.

More Than a Spark is the last book in Rock U series, it was a pleasure to read one last time about the members of Knot Me and at last the story of Milo.

Rock U is a low-angst, full of love series. Each book is about one member of the rock band Knot Me. They fall in love fast and hard! These are beautiful love stories.

Milo and Ryder have been best friends since they were kids. Milo is gay, and has known it ever since... Always :) he is not ashame and Ryder is his very straight, very supportive, very best friend!
Life has brought them apart for a time, because of school and job, but Ryder has an opportunity to come back to his family and to Milo... And Milo realizes really quickly that his feelings for his friend are not never diseappered. He has been in love with him, since the beginning of their friendship. Ryder, who has just discovered that he is queer, discovers that he is very much in love with his best friend.

They don't waste time, and quickly accept their feeling. Everything should be perfect but... Ryder has to come out to his family, that's a hard part for him, and especially with his mother. And there is another job, Milo's dream job, that threatens to separate them... again.

Milo and Ryder are perfect for each other.

It's a charming story about friendship to love, with a bi-awakening.

----

This was a sweet way to close a series. Finally Milo gets his HEA while we see how the rest of his bandmates with their band of "wives" continue to settle into their lives, but even closer than ever, always watching each other's backs and supporting each other.

In his story, Milo sees how his best friend returns to live near him, which is something that makes him happy but at the same time fills him with anxiety. He couldn't get over his feelings for Ryker while he was away, how could he now that Ryker was back? And even worse, when it seemed like Ryker was looking at him differently, like he wanted to devour him? Surely, it was just his own imagination running wild, right?

Ryker returns more confused than ever. A previous hook up with a coworker left him questioning his sexuality, and seeing Milo again was like everything clicked inside of him. But the confusion persisted. Or perhaps, it was more fear of the changes it would make in his life and in the people around him, like his family and co-workers, if he decided to accept this new part of himself, and transform what was a long and very close friendship into something more.

But the feelings were stronger and soon they find themselves navigating this change in their relationship, exploring this new side of Ryker intimately with many hot scenes (Ryker is quite open to trying everything, and Milo is eager to teach him everything he knows and more!!!) facing obstacles together, both in Ryker's relationship with his mother, for example, and when Milo receives the offer of his dream job and must decide whether to accept it, knowing that it will take him away from everything he loves.

Finally, both of them get everything they want, growing together and strengthening their relationship, and the author puts an end to one era, leaving the way open to another, where some secondary characters that we already met will give life to a new series, and where we will surely meet to many more.

I was giving an avanced copy and voluntarily wrote a review.

This is the 6th and final installment in the Rock U series. This time the MC is Milo - the keyboardist in Knot You, the queer cover band in Phoenix. While the other guys in the band have coupled-up, Milo has always stayed single. Finally we find out why - he's had a crush on his best friend since 4th grade, the now-hunky fireman Ryder.

Ryder has been up in Flagstaff for the last while, but he relocates back to the Phoenix area to be closer to his family. Before he departs Flag, Ryder has a hookup with one of the guys on his fire brigade and comes to the realization he's probably bisexual. When he's back home he immediately gets together with Milo and they not only become best friends again, but they realize they might be attracted to each other sexually. Within a month they are boyfriends and Ryder is another "band wife."

Our author gives us a nice twist - Milo wears lace panties for underwear and performs in sparkly crop tops & booty shorts onstage. Ryder is masculine with a gym-built body. So guess who's the top and who loves bottoming? LOL. The heat is very tangible and fun to read. Whatever angst we get is centered on both guys coming out to their families and at work, and it's not to angsty since everyone seems pretty accepting - it's just the guys worrying about it that is the issue.

The Epilogue is really nice - Christie brings all the band guys and their partners back together and closes the loop with everybody taking their relationships to the next level. So we have closure with this group combined with an introduction to Archer - the ASU hockey player Milo was dating before Ryder come back into Milo's life. Seems that Archer will be the first MC in Christie's new hockey series. I'm giving this one 5 stars and hopefully we'll get to see these guys from time-to-time in the future!

Tags: easy to read, friends to lovers, contemporary, heartwarming, engaging and dynamic narrative, steamy, uplifting, dual POV, no cliffhangers.
This book is an engaging, easy-to-read, enjoyable story about Milo, Ryder, and their friends, self-discovery, acceptance, and finding love. It is a smooth and easy journey from friendship to love with no major drama, angst, or challenges for them. While Milo is aware of himself and his feelings for his best friend, Ryder embarks on the rollercoaster of emotions and self-acceptance only after his first MM experience.
Both MCs are easygoing, charming, and loveable. Milo is flashy, artistic, cute, outgoing, a member of a rock band, and an aspiring game designer with a loyal, vibrant, and sunny character. Ryder, on the other hand, is a fireman, grounded, level-headed, self-confident, fiercely in love with Milo, and determined to make their relationship work.
The plot is straightforward yet compelling because of its engaging and dynamic narrative. It reads as a captivating diary, creating a story of self-realization, friendship, and love from intricate pieces of life, emotions, and thoughts. The characters are well-rounded and easy to relate to and understand because of profound and vivid insight into their feelings and thoughts.
"More than a Spark" is the last book in the series, but it can be read standalone. However, reading previous novels can enhance the experience, giving context to the supporting characters' stories.
Though lovers of dark, emotionally overbearing novels full of angst and drama might not fully engage with the story, it is a perfect choice for those who enjoy heartwarming, easy-to-read, and engaging reading with just the right addition of edge and complexity to keep you captivated.
Disclaimer: I received an ARC of this book. This review is an independent and genuine reflection of my thoughts.

The Rock U series is a spin-off of the Mesa Boys series, and this last book of the series is pretty good although the insta-love in this story was really intense and fast. Milo was already in love with Ryder but thought he was straight so when Ryder tells him he's bisexual and asks him out for a date, they're calling themselves boyfriends by the following morning and are exchanging love confessions within a week. It was a pretty good story overall, especially since the MCs were less immature than they often were in the Mesa Boys series. Anyway, as was the case for the other books of this series, the interior monologues of these MCs weren't as awkward (maybe cringey is a better word) or dramatic as the interior monologues of most of the MCs of the guys in the Mesa Boys series--most of the guys in that series felt like high schoolers rather than men in their twenties. Honestly though, while my biggest complaint with the Mesa Boys series is that it felt like a YA romance series instead of an adult romance series, my biggest complaint with this series is how fairy tale like the stories can feel with everything working out perfectly; this book in particular has a lot of fairy tale like elements Ryder's mom is willing to go to therapy with him to fix their relationship, Milo is able to work remotely for his dream job so that he doesn't have to move to Seattle, Milo's dad who has apparently been rather homophobic to him in the past swallows any negativity he may feel when he and Ryder reveal that they're in a relationship, and finally, at the end of the book, every single member of the band is engaged and apparently all the parents are on board with helping with all the weddings.

This is the second book in this series that I've read, courtesy of Christie Gordon kindly sending me an ARC. Even though I've only read this book and book 5, I didn't have a difficult time finding my bearings or trying to figure out who was who and what was going on. I really like it when books are part of a series but can be read as a standalone if the reader prefers.

The characters are really fun and unique and all have such wonderful personalities. The author does a great job with character development and world building. I also love this kind of trope.--A childhood crush/BFF crush which was previously unrequited mixed in with a little bi-awakening and voila! True, deep, mad love. *chefs kiss*

Milo has been in love with Ryder for basically his whole life. And while he's tried to accept that it's never going to happen because his BFF is straight, and he needs to move on, Ryder has recently discovered that maybe he's not as straight as he always suspected. But just when things are finally starting to click into place and it looks like Milo is finally getting everything his sweet, tender little heart has ever dreamed of, a rather significant wrench gets thrown in their plans. How will a new relationship, one with such a passionate connection, survive being separated by thousands of miles for a minimum of a few years? And what about the band and all of Milo's friends and family who he'll have to leave behind?

This is a great way the end the series of the gay men from the band Knot Me and all their band “wives”. Milo, the keyboardist, has been in love with his fireman best friend Ryder since the fourth grade. Ryder had been straight all these years until an unexpected hookup with a firefighter in Flagstaff where he worked. Recently transferring back to his home town to be near family and Milo, he suddenly sees Milo in an entirely different way. Is it possible to pursue more with Milo or will their friendship be a casualty? The only way to find out is to take a chance and hope Milo feels the same.
Low angst, bi-awakening, discovering your best friend is the love of your life and your forever person, all the anxiety of coming out to family as no longer straight, juggling hopes and dream jobs while facing realities, makes for a page-turning love story against the background of a successful cover band and a vibrant, eclectic group of gay men, living the dream.
All of the main characters from the previous books are here, a loving and supportive family of interesting, complex, intriguing men, unique personalities that work together so well as a unit, seeming like old friends to the reader as the story unfolds. A complete series set in the music world with the complexities of the lives of those in the band known as Knot Me. A fascinating read from all 6 books. Loved them!
I received an ARC of this book from the author and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Milo & Ryder
The final book in the Rock U series and directly connected to the first book in the new Desert Ice Hockey series (twice!🙃).

I've loved Milo's character in every one of the Rock U series. He's always so supportive of the guys and another fantastic band member. All of the Knot Me band are so cool, and I wish there was actual music to listen to from them. Milo really comes through as super sweet in his story, though he clearly has his own level of spiciness that he brings to the table. Ryder doesn't even know what hit him.

Ryder is an interesting new addition to the crew. I'd almost call him a Jeremy 2.0, except that he was in Milo's life far earlier than Jeremy was in Gabe's. I love the idea of the guys' friendship lasting over such a long time, even when they're several cities apart. He meshes perfectly in with the guys and the "band wives" as they call the partners, but that was to be expected of course.

I loved More Than A Spark, and I'm looking forward to another re-read/re-listen when I have a free period of time to do so. I think getting the chance to experience all of the guys' stories all over again but without a gap of time in between would be a lot of fun.

Audiobook Update:
Narrated by Finnley Cole
Another fantastic performance from Finnley Cole. I really love the nuance he brings to each of the Rock U MCs. He lends an added to sweetness to Milo in this story, although I will say that Cash somehow also adds a bunch of extra sweetness as well, even though he's not an MC in this book. I'm sad that this is the last of the Rock U series, but hopefully Finnley is on the line to narrate the Desert Ice Hockey series as well. 🤞

I received an authorized copy of this story/audiobook and am volunteering my honest review.

Final chapter to a great series (an audio review)

I’ve enjoyed listening to all the books in the Rock U series. I’ve watched the band grow as people and also pick up band ‘wives’ along the way. I’m not certain I love the term, but the guys created it with affection to envelop their partners in love. A way to connect the now six men who love them.

Milo’s story was a good one. He’s been in love with his best friend Ryder forever. When Ryder comes back home, Milo’s there to greet him. Things have changed. Ryder had a short-lived affair with a fellow firefighter back where he’d been. And that man had encouraged Ryder to be honest with Milo. And so he is – only to discover he has feelings for his best friend. Feelings that Milo reciprocates.

This isn’t just a friends-to-lovers story, though. This is about parental acceptance. Both men’s parents are divorced, so they basically have to come out as a couple four times. I held my breath a couple of those times, to be certain.

There is also the problem of location. Ryder has just taken a job as a firefighter and can’t possibly move again. Milo wants a job as a game designer – only the company is in Seattle. It all felt so impossible.

But this is a Christie Gordon romance and I got a very satisfying ending – both to this story and to the series. I’m so glad I went on this journey with Christie and Finnley. Finnley was the perfect narrator for this series and he did a bang-up job. Well done.

What a great way to end this wonderful series! Milo was a bit of a mystery throughout the story. Learning more about his friendship with Ryder, and how it affected Milo's view on relationships, it all makes sense. When Ryder gets a job opportunity that would bring him back home, Milo is excited.. and a bit nervous. With Ryder away, it was easier for Milo to try to get over his crush. Having Ryder nearby may change that. Having a crush on a straight friend is never fun.

What Milo doesn't know is: Ryder might not be that straight after all. After a brief hookup with a male co-worker, Ryder thinks it was a fluke... until he see Milo again. Having seen Milo hundreds of times, Ryder didn't know what made this time different, but everything was and he didn't know how to feel about it. Milo, on the other hand, was in a bit of denial about the changes that were happening. This story is about how Ryder and Milo have to figure things out for themselves, while dealing with life stuff.

I loved this book, for Milo and Ryder, but especially to see what comes next for the Knot Me bandmates and their "band wives". The conclusion was special, and I look forward to seeing more appearances by some of these characters in the new series that Christie Gordan is writing. So excited!

I received an ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I hadn't read anything by this author before so starting with book 6 in the Rock U series may not have been the smartest move, but I still enjoyed the book.

There was something in the story that made me want to keep reading but I will go back and read the other books in the series. This book will most likely make more sense, there were times where I felt I missed some background information to truly understand what the dynamic was between the other couples. (But as I said, that is on me, I should've read the other books before starting this one). This said, you can enjoy it as a standalone.

In spite of feeling I didn't have all the background information, this was still a sweet story portraying Milo and his best friend Ryder.
Milo has been in love with Ryder forever but Ryder just realized he may not be completely straight just a few weeks before he moves back to Tempe, where his family and Milo lives. Milo has always dreamt of Ryder, wanting him but also knowing Ryder is straight. Once Milo finds out that may not be the case, things start happening quickly. The story is about their love for each other (and some spicy scenes) but there are also some family issues coming to the surface here.

I enjoyed the story and as I previously stated, I will go back and read the previous books.

Milo and Ryder... I have been waiting for Milo to find his happily ever after and he finally did!

Milo has loved his fireman bestie for years. His straight fireman bestie. It was easier to push his feelings aside when Ryder lived nowhere near him. However, Ryder is moving back to town, and he's coming back a little less straight than Milo assumes he is.

Thanks to a coworker, Ryder has recently discovered that he does not only swing toward women. Now that he's on his way home to his family, his hometown, and his bestie, he knows that things are going to be a lot different. Hopefully Milo has feelings for him, because he's got some thoughts about Milo that are less than best friendly...

Christie has given us a best friends-to-lovers story that gives Milo his HEA, gives us all the Rock U guys making numerous appearances, and the entire gang finding their forever HEAs. Loved these two so much.

More Than A Spark is the final book in the Rock U series by Christie Gordon.

We finally learn more about Milo, the mysterious keyboard player. Ryder, his best friend since 4th grade, moves back to his hometown to be closer to his father, his twin sister, and Milo. Little does he know that Milo has been in love with him since they first met.

Milo is thrilled that his best friend and secret love is moving back to spend more time with him.

I love this book. Throughout the series, I have been dying to know more about Milo. The development of his relationship with Ryder is beautiful. The deep trust and friendship they have for each other gives them enough space and time to take their relationship to the next level without much drama.
What I also love is that the band members and their "wives" are given a lot of space and that I was able to say goodbye to them well. Nevertheless, tears flowed at the end.

The heartache of separation is eased because Christie is writing a short story that bridges the Rock U series and her new hockey series, Desert Ice Hockey.

BEST FRIENDS TO LOVERS BI-AWAKENING💕

In the sixth and final instalment of the Rock U series we discover what a wickedly dark horse keyboardist for Knott Me and hookup extrodenair -Milo Richardson is!

He has been in love with his straight best friend Ryder Scott since the fourth grade who is now returning home from Flagstaff to continue his training as a firefighter and be closer to his family and Milo… just when Milo has decided to finally move on with hockey player Archer- a regular hookup…

Ryder has discovered he is not so straight after a drunken hookup with a colleague in Flagstaff and now he sees Milo in a different light…

This was a sweet friends to lovers love story that showcases a lot of jealousy, possessiveness, difficult career choices and steamy sexual explorations involving sexy lacy panties and bedroom dynamics that will entertain and enthral!

A beautiful rounding off of the series with sweet surprises, difficult coming out moments and supportive found family and extended family!

I look forward to the next series that involves Axels brother Leo and a certain Desert Ice Hockey player…

I voluntarily received an ARC for an honest non biased review.

Black Lace Thong, Tight Silvery Shorts

Expect: low angst, bi-awakening, a tight group of friends, family drama, a lot of steamy scenes, fabulous clothes and a great, well-written, and satisfying book.

The sixth book of the series, "Rock U", features Milo, graphic designer/keyboardist for the queer punk band, "Knot Me" and Ryder, a fireman and best friends with Milo since the fourth grade.

Ryder, a fireman in Flagstaff, is moving back to Tempe where he is originally from, to join the fire department there. Ryder considers himself as straight, but as Milo and he reconnect, he finds himself falling for Milo.

Milo is unhappy with his intern job at a graphic design firm. He is in his last semester of college hoping to find a new job that will allow him to be more creative. He lives in the band house and with his bandmates. He had always loved Ryder and has to tamp that desire down, unwilling to risk losing his best friend.

The characters are all great. Of course, if you've read the previous books, you'll revisit those couples who are all bandmates or band "wives". Like I mentioned, this is a great book and recommend it.

The second book in this series that I’ve read, and I loved it.

I received a free copy. This review is submitted voluntarily.

Milo is the keyboard player in a band and has been in love with Ryder since fourth grade. But Ryder is straight, so Milo has kept his love a secret. It was easy when Ryder was a firefighter in Flagstaff, but he’s now moving back to Phoenix. Before his return, we discover that he isn’t as straight as Milo thinks and Milo’s bandmates, many of whom live in the same house as Milo, see before he does that Ryder is in love with him. To Milo’s delight, they decide to date. Everything goes smoothly except that they haven’t told their families, who each have their own complications. Meanwhile, Milo has applied for a job with a game development company based in Seattle. He’s truly regretting having submitted the application, given his ascent relationship with Ryder and his membership in the band that is just starting to get popular. They eventually overcome these problems and arrive at a happy ending.

Having read the immediately preceding book, I was familiar with Milo, though he was much less developed, but Ryder was a totally new character. I loved both, though it was a tad convenient that Ryder wasn’t really straight and had had a hookup with a fellow firefighter in Flagstaff. It was clearly a necessary convenience for the purposes of the storyline. Both MCs have family problems to overcome, and they eventually manage to do so. I found it hard to grasp Ryder’s quick acceptance of male sex. I managed to suspend my disbelief and enjoy the story. The bandmates were a hoot and made substantial contributions to the plot. Ryder’s and Milo’s families also helped in plot development. The storyline developed in a straightforward (pun intended) way, with few diversions along the way. My favourite books tend to have simple plots that don’t complicate things too much.

I’m happy to recommend this book.

More than a spark by Christie Gordon

♡Childhood bestfriends to lovers
♡Bi-awakening
♡Crush on his straight best friend
♡Firefighter
♡Artistic graphique art
♡Keyboard player for a pop-punk band (the author call it pop-punk, I call it punk-rock)
♡Pantie Lace
♡Twink who prefer to top
♡Firefighter first time with butt stuff

It's a cute, charming story. There's no stalker, no harm, no homophobia, no mobbing compared to previous books, this one is soft, smooth, almost fluffy. It's possible to read it as a standalone, but it would probably be more enjoyable if you knew the group dynamic in advance. I love this group of friends, their chemistry and loyalty is incredible.

->Please read the TW beforehand neitherless.

I gave it 4 stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It's very enjoyable, very hot, and lots and lots of coming out.
I would have preferred the awakening of the two to be a little longer, I mean at 30% they were official. NO third act breakup. A little twist with the mother, but as I said, it's almost fluffy.

Nevertheless, if you take out the whole seggs scene and all the coming out, you'll be left with maybe half the book's length. For my part, I found that far too much time was spent on it, instead of the self-discovery, the realisation and coming out as a couple.

Also, a huge bonus for the incredible epilogue. I LOVE IT!

If you like a sweet book, bi awakening, coming out with their sweet relationship of childhood friends, this one's for you.

I recommend it, but if you are still unsure, read the blurb it is pretty accurate.

Self questionning: Quick question from a French perception. Do English people really make a big deal out of like/love? Like OMG, he said the famous big L word!? Who said the L word first? It blows my mind at each books that mention it🤯

Spoilers:

I enjoyed this spicy MM friends to lovers Romance. This was my first book of the Rock U series and I want to read the rest of the stories in the series to find out about all the other guys in the band along with the spin off series coming soon.

We are given a great cast of characters that I connected with from the start all the way throughout the story. Of course I fell in love with Ryder and Milo and how supportive they are of each other. I felt like I was part of the band hanging out inside their house, at practice and rocking out at gigs. I loved the ending and even though I have not read the rest of the series I can tell that it tied together the series and all the couples perfectly.

I look forward to reading more from this author.

For mood readers and those with triggers : This one has spice, mention of emotional abuse by a parent and themes of prejudice.

I thought this was a very sweet, yet sexy telling of a story that doesn’t usually have a happy ending but in this case, all the cards are falling into just the right places just in the nick of time, with a lot of help from family and friends.
I think the thing I loved the most about Christie Gordon’s writing is the fact that she doesn’t adhere to the same old tired designations of what a “Top” or “bottom” should look or act like. Tops can totally love a less masculine aesthetic in the way they dress just as bottoms can be big burly “bear “types of men. People like what they like, right?
The difficulties the two MCs face seem quite daunting as the awaking of ones sexuality means the possible culmination of the other’s hopes and dreams but situations and future dreams are always on the edge ready to tear it all asunder…
Will they ever get their happy ever after?
I guess you will have to read and find out.
This is a fantastic read with a different take on non-stereotypical characters. Do yourself the favor of indulging in it. You won’t be disappointed!

This is the 6th and final (unless I'm very much mistaken) story in the Rock U series. Best friends to lovers, low angst, bisexual awakening, HEA.

I have read this entire series so far, and I've enjoyed each one. I was so curious about Milo though, he's the bandmate I knew least about, he's been there in the background but this is his time to shine. Milo's been in love with his (supposedly straight) best friend Ryder since forever. Now Ryder is back, having discovered some new things about himself while he was away and may be open to more with his best friend after seeing him in an all new light.

I liked that Ryder was already exploring his sexuality while he was away from Milo and home, and was open to things with Milo on his return. Sometimes one person pining after another, unrequited, can be a little wearing but there wasn't a lot of that here. Ryder realised his feelings for Milo weren't exactly platonic any more and worked on making that relationship happen, while working out his feelings towards his mum and her new family.

This is low angst, as both were pretty much all in once they realised they loved each other, and most of the drama is from outside sources, with Ryder's family and Milo's new career. That's all resolved with satisfaction though, and the ending/epilogue ties up all the loose ends of the books fairly neatly. If this is where we say goodby to the Knot Me boys, I'm happy with this and their stories.

I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

I absolutely loved Milo and Ryder's love story!
Them being friends since childhood, then that turning into a mature love was beautiful to see.
Also getting to visit with the boys from the previous books is always a huge win in my book!
Milo and Ryder working out their feelings for each other and KNOWING that what they feel is real and lasting made me extremely happy.
How they had each other's backs, and the support of their friends is how it should be.
This book was so well written with a lot of love, some difficult discussions, advice and help from their families and friends was perfect!
Let's not forget the heat between those two men! Woo wee!
Can we discuss the ending? Oh my gosh so, so, SO good! I am hoping we get to see a bit of what they are planning in the next series connected to this one.

I highly recommend this book and series if people haven't read the books that are in the series with this one.

I can't believe this is the last book in the series, I'm going to miss those guys. I don't want to let them go! They are such and amazing group of friends. So supportive and generous and I just love the way they tease each other.
Ryder fit perfectly with them and he was great with Milo.
I love love love reading books about childhood friends falling in love. I liked all the history Milo and Ryder shared and I adored the closeness between them. Their chemistry was chef's kiss, they were a perfect match. I loved reading their story. Their book was one of my favorites in the series.
I also really enjoyed reading about Ryder's bi awakening journey. I appreciated that the author showed how you actually have to came out many times and it's not easy even when it's someone you know they'll accept you.
The narrator was brilliant as always, there are a lot of characters in the book and they all had distinct voices. The audiobook quality was great.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. This is the final book in the “rock u” series. The spinoff series from Mesa Boys. We finally get Milo’s story. Milo the keyboard player in Knot Me has always been in love with his “straight best friend”.
When his bestie Ryder moves back home, Milo is both excited to see him and torn about his feelings. Would he have a chance, should he find someone else to try to get over his feelings?? I loved the back and forth of both characters working through their feelings. The wanting to take the chance and how hard it can be to take it. Found family series are one of my favorites and this was a great wrap up for the series, enjoyed the last chapter that had all theories characters together for and let you know what they are all up too! Oh and the teaser for Christie’s next book, already on my TBR!!

I’m reviewing the audio edition.

This story focuses on Milo and Ryder. These guys have been friends forever. Milo has almost always known he was in love with Ryder but Ryder is straight. They follow their separate careers until something changes. This brings their attention to the relationship they have that might be changing.

The scene where Milo confesses is such a heartbreaker. He never thought they would get to the point they do.

This is an emotional story because Milo’s feelings are out front from the beginning. It makes this story hard to set aside.

The secondary characters play a big part in the story so it’s really good to have heard the previous books.

The narration by Finnley Cole really brought the story to life. Each character had a distinct feeling.
