Cat Sloan needed something to be happy about. After a devastating heartbreak she is focused on opening her bookstore, alongside her sisters, in their brand new shopping center. Elena Burkett had been swallowed by grief the past year. But when she spotted a new bookstore about to open in her neighborhood she felt a spark of hope.
As Elena nervously walks into the bookstore for the first time Cat immediately puts her at ease. Amidst their shared love of books and sadness a much-needed friendship blossoms.
When Cat’s ex and reason for her heartbreak returns to town, Elena devises a plan to help her friend send the ex packing for good. It all starts with a fake kiss.
Take a friends to lovers romance, sprinkle in a fake relationship, add in a toaster oven and you’ll know why Cat Sloan is Swirling.
Jamey Moody is a small town Texas girl living her best life with her little terrier Leo, who brings her a toy every time she walks in the house. When she’s not reading or writing her next sapphic romance you can find her on a bike ride, paddle boarding the lake, or in the middle of an adventure. Reach out, she’d love to hear from you.
Cat Sloan, the youngest of the Sloan sisters and owner of Your Next Great Read. It is a sapphic/gay centered bookstore with a risque twist - a backroom of "toys" called The Bottom Shelf. When Cat and Elena (she is Cat's first customer) meet in the bookshop there is an instant comfortable connection and overtime a friendship develops. Cat is closed off to relationships, remembering the emotional hurt from her ex Hattie but finds herself opening up to Elena. Apart from the "library girl kiss" back in college, Elena thought herself "straight" but now widowed and retired, she is a woman quietly, slowly, finding her true self without fear holding her back. She looks forward to her daily visits to the bookstore and chats with Cat. Their candid conversations and meetings fill the friendship need, compatibility is discovered and emotions grow. I liked Nicolas who plays a mini cupid role and cameos by characters from a previous series added a delightful touch. The final book of the series starts with a mutual love for books, moves to friendship and solidifies in love. What can I say...Moody writes sweet romance (with a touch of heat).
5 ★ | This was the absolute cutest, magical even 🥹 It was just so heartwarming and you could feel that love and connection. Splash of fake dating thrown in, to top it all off.
I would definitely recommend this, Congrats Moody!
Jamey has done it again, this finaly book of the Sloan Sisters Series is just as brilliant as the first two and I can honestly say I am thrilled that all three sister found the love they all deserve 😍 reading this serise has filed my heart with love and I can't recommend it to you all enough!
This story follows Cat Slone when the sister comes into money and opens the Sloan Sisters' Shopping Extravaganza. Cat is the owner of Your Next Great Read - which is one brilliant name for a bookstore! When Elena comes into her life at the exact right time. It's clear there is an instant connection, with the mutual love for books.
As Elena and Cat's friendship grows so dows there attraction and feelings for each other, when Cat's ex Hattie turns up Elana offers to pretend to be her girlfriend, it's only a matter of time before pretend becomes reality.
Cat's story is full of love and friendship. It's just such an all-around fantastic read. It's steamy in all the best ways and at the right times. I couldn't put this book down! I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline. It made me laugh out loud and made me so happy all the way through. i couldn't stop but have a smile on my face throughout.
Thank you, Jamey, for the amazing opportunity to read you ARC. It's an honour as always. This was such a beautiful end to the series, and i had myself a big happy cry at the end 🥹
I can't wait to read more of your books in the future. This book comes out TODAY, so go and grab yourself a copy now, you will not regret it!
Honestly, I'm having a hard time rating this book because it's the conclusion of a series and that would affect the rating, too.
The Sloan Sisters series was pleasant, with some nice moments of humor. It's the first series I've finished in a while, which earns it a star automatically. That star for completion helps because Cat Sloan's installment didn't give the book-lover swooning I'd been hoping for. Its sex scene was the best of the three books, in my opinion.
This book tackled many tropes, but I wanted more breathing room for depth. Not all writers detail their characters, but this leaves the cast feeling almost indistinguishable from one other.
Points I really liked: Cat and Elena's lingerie peep flirting, the custom sapphic reading room, finding love in a bookstore, awkwardness with exes and how relationships can break down over time. I like the Bottom Shelf, but I think that whole theme could have been enhanced, making Cat much more sexually adventurous.
The epilogue:
The Sloan Sisters would appeal to readers who love simplicity and characters who don't shy away from love declarations. It also has heart.
This is book 3 of the Sloan Sister Series. Cat is the third sister, and youngest. She left her accounting job to start her dream business a book store that specializes I'm sapphic books. She also carries other books. Her piece de resistance is The Bottom Shelf where she sells sex toys. Her first customer is Elana., an older woman, by 10 yrs, and recently widowed1 yr ago. Both women are damaged as one yr ago Cat's girlfriend Hattie left her. They decide to fake a relationship when Hattie comes back. This is a perfect ending to the series! Jamey makes you feel as if you're a friend of all the characters. 5 stars!!!
Jamey Moody’s Cat Sloan is Swirling is a cozy and captivating contemporary romance that will warm the hearts of readers. The book features charming characters, witty dialogue, and a smooth writing style that makes the story flow without bumps. Infused with Hallmark vibes, this book proves to be a delightful read from beginning to end.
The plot centers on Cat Sloan and Elena Burkett, two women who are at pivotal points in their lives. Initially friends, their bond quickly and quietly deepens, culminating in a staged kiss that sparks something more profound between them. As they grapple with their feelings, Cat and Elena embark on a journey of self-discovery and love.
Though readers have already met Cat in Moody’s previous books, they learn in this book that this kind-hearted, family devoted woman is ready to make changes in her life. After years at an accounting job, she longs to switch gears and pursue her passion for books. She opens a bookstore near her sisters’ places of business in a shopping plaza, hoping to create a haven for book lovers like herself. She knows that the bookstore will provide her with joy, but she didn’t expect that it could lead her to love.
Elena, a widow, also finds herself at the precipice of change. She discovers Cat’s new bookstore and finds hope and joy in the sanctuary of books Cat has curated. Together these women quickly strike up a friendship, never expecting that their love for books would lead to much more.
One of the most remarkable aspects of Jamey Moody’s writing is her ability to craft genuine and relatable characters. Both Cat and Elena are strong, independent women, yet they also possess vulnerabilities and insecurities that make them very approachable. As they navigate their complex feelings for each other, readers find themselves deeply empathizing with their struggles. Their journey to HEA is one of celebration for all in the end.
The story beautifully explores themes of women loving women, self-discovery, family, and sisterhood. Moody intricately weaves these into the narrative as the two women explore their newfound attraction and awakened sexuality, making the characters’ journeys nuanced and authentic. The sapphic romance between Cat and Elena is written with gentle sincerity, pulling readers in from the start.
Cat Sloan is Swirling is the third and final book in the Sloan Sisters Romance series, and it doesn’t disappoint. Moody neatly ties up all the loose ends, delivering a satisfying read for all those that have been following along since its beginning. Though it dovetails nicely into the Sloan sisters’ story world, it should be noted that it can be read as a standalone. The new characters and new storylines provide readers with more than enough to enjoy.
Final remarks…
Cat Sloan is Swirling is an enchanting romance that will leave readers with a warm feeling and smile on their face. Moody has a gift for crafting authentic characters like Cat and Elena. They are strong yet beautifully flawed, making it easy for readers to connect with them. The supporting cast adds depth too, creating a heartwarming sense of family within the storytelling. Whether you’re new to the Sloan Sisters Romance series or a devoted follower, this book is guaranteed to leave you feeling satisfied.

The last tale in the Sloan Sister Trilogy is the icing on the cake. Cat’s story is one of finding life and love again after heartbreak, grief and loss. If you’re not careful it will melt your heart into a puddle!
I received an advance review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Catarina (Cat) Sloan has sworn off love and everything romance. Her ex trampled on her heart so badly it left serious cracks. Cracks Cat is sure she will never be able to heal. All her energy goes into her brand new bookstore. One of the three shops that make up the Sloan Sisters Shopping Extravaganza, alongside CeCe Sloan’s salon and Cory Sloan’s liquor store. When an intriguing woman enters the bookshop on the first day, Cat’s life will change once again. Elena Burkett proves to be a great friend. She teaches Cat to put trust in her and in turn Cat learns she can trust herself.
As Cat and Elena build a loving friendship feelings start to change for Cat. Throw in a little fake dating to throw off Cat’s ex and lines start to blur.
I loved that this story runs along the other two in the series but goes a little beyond that. It’s great to get updates on all the sister’s lives and see where love takes them. The unique bond the Sloan Sisters share is so cute to witness.
Cat maybe known as the quiet sister but still waters run deep…and get spicy! Who would have thought the quiet one would open a secret adult toy shop in the back of her store? I love the way Cat stimulates Elena to explore her own wants and desires and never makes her feel awkward for asking questions. And when they finally start exploring each other, pffff, spiiiicy!
And then there is the bookstore itself. Your Next Great Read is the shop every sapphic reader dreams about! I would give a proverbial arm and leg to browse those shelves and curl up in the reading nook. I would love to join Cat and Elena to talk about books.
With Cat’s story the Sloan Sister Series is complete. I highly recommend reading them in chronological order so you can avoid spoilers about CeCe’s and Cory’s stories. Jamey Moody can sure write a lovely sweet as sugar romance, these three are proof of that. Now, go swoon, swear and swirl!
Cat, the third sister and the owner of the bookstore, has sworn off love after her ex broke her heart. Elena, a widow and former teacher, visits the bookstore one day and fully enjoys the outgoing and conversational Cat. They bond over their love of books.
I loved the way in which their beautiful friendship organically evolved into love. They were two wounded souls who found such love and joy with each other. Nothing was forced. It was honest, open and full of trust.
I also thought the friendship with Nicholas, Elena's former student was priceless. I very much enjoyed him as a secondary character.
And Jamey brought back many wonderful characters from her other series. I guess everyone wants to meet in that cozy little book nook!
Jamey writes straight from her heart, sweet as can be with some spicy bits thrown in. I just love her writing because it always speaks to me. It's warm, tender and loving with humor galore!
Although the Sloan Sister books take place concurrently, I would suggest reading them in order for the most enjoyment. I truly loved this series and highly recommend it. I believe you will really enjoy CeCe, Cory and Cat just as much as I did!
“Cat Sloan is Swirling” is here and of course Jamey has saved the best for last. There was just something about Cat and Elena’s story that pulled you in. The connection from the moment Elena entered the bookstore and Cat introduced herself. (Love Bookstores and The Backroom) This gave you a little bit of everything you needed in their story. Again, staying with the timeline as the other two books, which are great also. The sweet friendships, the loving family, the thriving business, the exes, the sex (written so well 😉). All of this comes together in a very positive and sweet way. As with all of Jamey’s books, you have low angst, you have solid friendships and supportive family connections and you have your Happily Ever After. This is everything I love and more when I pick up a Jamey Moody book….
After turning the last page, I finally completed all three books in this Sloan Sisters series, and what a joy ride! As Jamey Moody's trademark heartwarming and low angst style, this final book makes the perfect ending to the three lovely sisters and their girlfriends. There is age gap and fake dating, and the author's masterful storytelling and character building make me believe that the couple, widower Elena and bookstore owner Cat are indeed perfect for each other. Their slow burn romance is sweet and delightful, and I am happy to see all three sisters' wonderful wedding!
What a great ending to this trilogy. I’m kind of sad we won’t get anymore from the Sloan Sisters but I’m sure they will pop up in future books by Moody. As with the previous book the characters are spot on. You can relate to them and just keep turning the pages to see what happens next. The setting is just brilliant, you can easily imagine customers floating from one store to the next. And the fact Lovers Landing plays a huge part in each book is brilliant, I loved that set of books so much. I look forward to whatever Moody has for us next.
This is the story of the 3rd Sloan sister. Please read the other 2 books first. Cat started the bookstore in the Sloan mall. Cat has been burned in the romance department. As a result she has closed off her heart. Elena is one of the first customers. They hit it off immediately as friends, over their love of books. I just adore how Jamey tells a story. I get pulled in and want to learn all about the characters. She adds so much depth in her books. And always a happily ever after. That is a must with me. Enjoy.
That was such a great ending to a wonderful series.. The sparks between the two FMC was noticeable at the beginning and it just grew more and more.. I’m such a sucker for a sappy romance.. 4 thumbs up for this book
Jamey Moody continues the sisters series with a meet cute. The MCs are fun bookworms with sex appeal. Will the romance be a fake or true love? Jamey does not disappoint with an intriguing plot.
Cat Sloan is the youngest of the three Sloan sisters. She has endured heartbreak, and has every intention of never making herself that vulnerable again. When she and her sisters open their ‘shopping extravaganza’, one of the first customers to enter Cat’s new bookshop is Elena. Elena is a widow, her husband of many years having died about a year before. To get herself out of her house and to stop moping, she visits the new bookshop opened nearby. This is the ultimate final book in the Sloan sisters’ series, ending in a flourish of epic proportions, but also somehow keeping its homely, individual feel, without pretensions. Here is where characters from four of Jamey Moody’s different series meet up, in her fictional world. This isn’t intellectual literature, but it is wonderful, warm and inspiring writing.
This is a beautiful fake relationship about Cat and Elenn. These series of the Sloan Sisters have been beautiful and heartwarming. I have absolutely loved seeing each sisters life of there new businesses and finding love too, for Cat is a book store. Cat Sloan is Swirling is must read!!
What a nice ending to the Sloan Sisters series! This time we get to see Cat get her happily ever after. Cat and Elena are both getting over personal hardships. We get to witness them slowly help each other move away from their grief and open up to one another. Since all three stories in this series happen concurrently, the first two could be read in any order but I suggest reading Cat's story last as it goes beyond their timeline.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Third and final book in the Sloan sister’s saga does not disappoint! I loved reading Cat and Elena’s story. They started out as fast friends, then moved onto a “fake relationship” which helped them realize and trust in each other enough to realize they were what each other truly needed. The happiest of stories that I truly loved every second of and a great way to start off 2024!
What a lovely story. I like how the story's of the sisters intertwine with each other. It is a fun and relaxed read as well. The characters are well written and very likeble.
Jamey Moody Cat Sloan is Swirling: A fake relationship leads to a sapphic romance (Sloan Sisters Sapphic Romance Book 3)
My heart became so dark and I don’t want to be that person. I’m trying to find the light that was once inside me.” Favorite quote
On a side note, I must express my excitement for Cat's book, a long-awaited addition to the series. As always, her books touch my heart, and it's the love for books that brings Cat and Elena together. Nicolas, a sweet and kind young man, adds a brighter touch to Elena's life and I absolutely adore him as part of the storyline. I appreciate the inclusion of characters from Lovers Landing, as it ties everything together.
I have been a fan of Jayme's work since day one, and I love all of her books. The relationship between Cat and Elena feels so natural and easy, which is one of the reasons I enjoy their story so much.
It's refreshing to see Cat and Elena openly discuss intimacy, sex toys, and their past relationships. It's important for couples to communicate about their sexual desires, even if it may be considered taboo in some relationships.
Both Cat and Elena have experienced pain in their past, which creates a disconnect between them. Cat feels like she failed in her previous relationship, while Elena has felt suppressed. However, Elena finds solace in creating a new sapphic book library in her home, symbolizing a fresh start. Additionally, her passion for children is evident through her years of teaching young people how to read.
I love how all three books in the series blend together, and I particularly enjoyed the references to Lovers Landing. The sapphic study mentioned in the book sounds like a dream. I must say, Jayme is one of my favorite authors, and her support has always meant a lot to me. This book is truly one of her best, providing the love story I needed to start the new year right!
I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to Jayme for providing me with an advance copy of the book. It will be available on Amazon on January 22, and I highly recommend it. This book is a perfect conclusion to the Sloan sister's story, and it's definitely not one to be missed.
A Three-Stars Feel-Good Story: Jamey Moody presents three sapphic stories, each spotlighting one of the three Sloan sisters — Cory, CeCe, and Cat.
The series revolves around the women inheriting money that big sister Cory suggests they invest together in a business venture that gets billed as the Sloan Sisters Shopping Extravaganza.
There, Cory pours her energy into a liquor store and happy hour bar; CeCe heads her own hair salon; and youngest sister Cat, formerly an accountant, begins a new chapter as the owner of a bookstore and discreet sex toy store.
Cat’s tale is the third installment in the fun, satisfying series, in which each sister’s venture is the basis for a successful business and an opportunity to meet the love of her life.
Cat’s story is the simplest and fastest paced of the easy-reading accounts of women meeting women.
When Elena Burkett, a widow, visits Your Last Great Read, she finds its selection of sapphic novels and its beautiful owner to be just what she needs to brighten her days and dispel her grief.
Cat, for her part, finds Elena to be a great antidote to the toxic relationship she had with her former long-term girlfriend, Hattie.
And when Hattie reappears and Elena decides on her own to pretend to be Cat’s new love, the two women find romance to be a sweet and scorching way to repair their hearts.
Cat Sloan owns a bookstore and befriends Elena who comes to her store everyday to read and explore new books. These 2 have great chemistry and the friendship feels natural even though they become quick friends.
If you've read the other 2 books in this series (Cece Sloan Is Swooning, Cory Sloan Is Swearing), you would think Cat Sloan is a quiet one but Cat Sloan is one of the most charming, funny and Naughtiest of them all in this series.
This is the 1st book I've read in which they make everyone around them think that they are fake dating but in reality they are actually dating.
A very cute and sweet read. There is no 3rd act fight, so already added 10 points just for that.
I've never thought this would be my favorite among the 3 books. They could be read as standalones too. But I highly recommend reading all of them.
I absolutely loved Cat’s story! I’ve loved all of the Sloan sisters but Cat may well be the best! Cat is such a warm & special person who had her heart broken and isn’t looking for love. Elena, a kind a beautiful person inside & out, had suffered the lose of her love too…can these two find love in each other? Oh and Elena is straight! These two beautiful ladies find a love within each other in the form of a budding friendship that becomes so much more. The chemistry between these two is obvious to me straight away but the deep connection and heartwarming love comes with time. They are just so sweet together and it’s everything we wish a love story could be. Absolutely loved their story! Thank you Jamey Moody for another great one!
I really wanted to love Cat Sloane Is Swirling. The premise had potential, with a heartfelt story about love, loss, and new beginnings. Unfortunately, the execution left much to be desired.
The writing felt overly cheesy and riddled with clichés, reminiscent of something I’d expect from my high school students. The narrator’s voice was grating, and the chapters often ended in strange places, disrupting the flow of the story. Despite the promising setup, these elements made it difficult to stay engaged.
The only reason I stuck it out was to see the wedding that had been hinted at in the first two books of the trilogy, but even that turned out to be a letdown. It’s disappointing because the story had heart; it just didn’t come together in a satisfying way.
Jamey Moody is very good at writing light-hearted lesbian romances with a H.E.A. ending. CAT SLOAN IS SWIRLING is her latest one and I loved it. The three Sloan sisters each have a story and this one has the youngest sister Cat as one of the main characters, who becomes friendly with the other main character, a woman who has been a widow for about a year. The confusions start here. While a great standalone, I enjoyed recognizing characters from Jamey's other series as I invest quite a deal of emotion in my reading. A great story Jamey; it was really enjoyable being well written with appealing characters. Thank you!
Jamey Moody has now penned the third and final Sloan sisters story. Once again there are some of the characters from other books that work their magic for Cat Sloan!
Jamey Moody makes her books humorous and serious, and this book is no different. Cat has her book store in the same complex as her other two sisters. She has vowed never to fall in love again because of a bad breakup.
Do you really think Cat will never fall in love again?
Pick the book up and enjoy the story Jamey weaves with laughter, tears, and anger.
This is book three I the Sloan sisters series. What a beautiful read it is. While Cat thought she couldn't open her heart again Elena walked into her life and changed everything. As normal with all Jamey Moody's books, this one is full of love and once again the lake plays its its magic. I loved it so very much and I think it was a fitting close to the Sloan sister's story. I received an advance review copy of this book and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Loved this book!!! Jamey pulls the heartstrings again as a fake relationship for Cat's ex and others to see, actually just pulls Cat and Elena together. Watch out what can grow from a chaste kiss. Also since Jamey's stories are so down to earth and relatable, the main characters have their HEA. Love how she ties up the Sloan Sisters wedding finale with crossover characters from Your Way and Lover's Landing.
Jamey Moody is such a gifted storyteller. She writes with humor and depth, not always an easy chore. This particular series grabbed my interest from the first page and had me giggling, chortling and even gafawing! Love stories can be so canned, thankfully these are not. Perhaps because I am close to my sisters and could see each of us at one point or another. Thanks Jamey for sharing so much happiness!
