I really liked the whole idea of gods and Atlantis but from the second book, everything became more confusing and a bit too much. I spent 3 days trying to finish this book because I found it too boring. There's only one time jump but from the middle of the book, the author began to lengthen and lengthen the story with unnecessary details. I skimmed a lot of pages. The sex scenes weren't needed. Connor was the Billy (Stranger Things minus the abusive personality) of this series. A character only created, not liked by the reader, to become the sacrificial lamb of the story because the author didn't want to kill any of the main characters. I hated that. Sonaris didn't have any purpose in the books. His death was so anti-climactic. All the Gods weren't that interesting really. Disappointing.
Holy flamin' Atlantean babies...I...I don't have the right words to express just how incredible of a journey this final book to Maddi's story was! So many emotions that I barely know if my review will even make sense...I don't even know where to begin with this book...and don't say "the beginning" because that doesn't help! I'm a person who went on an insane journey and I'm in a MAJOR book hangover. No one gives one of those better than one of my all-time fav authors, Jaymin Eve. Like I love you to bits but one of these days she's going to give me a fair dinkum heart attack...I kid you not!
Right ummmm...all my brain is saying is "where to start" over and over again...so not helpful brain. Maybe I should start by saying that I think Jaymin broke my brain and turned me into a broken record. But what an amazing book to be broken on. So don't be goin' expecting too much...
The jury is out on whether it will be returning anytime or whether it went on a temporary un-agreed (I don't even think that's a proper word 😆but does not having a brain say it all? 🤷🏻♀️) holiday.
I think the only way people are going to understand a smidgen of what has happened to my poor, poor brain is if they just go and read this book, when it releases in like a week! That way you understand my weirdness, well minimally lol coz I doubt anyone will ever understand the wacko person that I am...
If one person is able to make you feel all the feels...I betcha it's this chic...this book will have you playing a serious game of whiplash and one moment you'll be laughing and then the next you'll have tears in your eyes and then everything in between and beyond. All I know is that if this book doesn't make you feel things, I don't know what will. And I may then be inclined to believe
This review is not coming to me easy...like I could ramble all day about how incredible it is and all that jazz but it's not that...it's not even the whole lack of brain thing that's an issue...nope it's because I know if I submit and finish this review, that it means that Mads story is closed and I don't want it to be so. Even if it was done so, so spectacularly.
There were legit so many moments in this story that I just had to put the book aside to try and process what I could, or to try and at least patch my heart back together, from what had gone down...I would try and use that good ole duct tape method to fix the cracks and hope it would hold...sometimes it did not...so it was sorta akin to this happening.
Other times I just had to plow on through the pain because I just needed all the answers...but it wasn't until I reached the last few chapters that it got harder and harder and I got more emotional because the friends made throughout this journey are the kind that you hope to find in your own life, that will love you through anything...you will love how it is closed and it'll break your heart how much Maddie put on herself...but sometimes the biggest battles we have to fight are internal and sometimes it's the friendships in our lives that show what we see in ourselves isn't what they see. It hit me hard when Louis gave his little speech to her and I was like
The friendships though are what touched me the most...not just with her Atlantean boys but also Illea and Larissa and the developing bond with Jessa and other characters. It's everything...and I honestly can't think of anything that could make this better.
So I thought I'd be a decent human and it would only be fair to warn you...
I don't know what the shoes in the house will accomplish unless you live in a house of obstacles but everything else yep, yep...its super duper important and may protect your sexy bones (Read the book and it'll all make sense 😂 )
I just realised we made it this far and I haven't even spoken about the story development and what not...
It's the year of Aqua hair for Mads...and our girl is struggling a little with everything that went down last year between losing Asher and also her boys and we can't forget the crazy power-hungry gods...and I don't blame her, I'd be pretty changed from all she went through. But she really is trying to make a new start to find the happiness in whatever moments she can and to feel the love of her family.
"There was no denying my life had changed in almost every way from the first moment I was kidnapped by Ilia. For the better. So much better. I’d take the pain just to feel all of the love."
Everything is far from over for them all. They managed to catch some extra time by Sonaris trapping the gods in the last book but that was at the price of a deal...a deal Maddie has no clue what is. The stress of that deal hanging over her head is real and the uncertainty of when the gods will escape. It's a rush against the clock to find answers...to find the key to stop the gods from destroying everything that they love...and the world. Atlantis is risen and it's time to find all the answers of this long lost world. Everything will be revealed and so much will happen it may just blow your mind. Whatever you think that Jaymin has in store for you...
Sonaris shows his true colours very quickly and by doing so it opens the story up like a blossomed flower...and from here the story just gets better and better. I want to say more about this but my self-control when it comes to these books...is so seriously shot.
I may have worked out what was going to happen in parts but heck reading it and filling in those in-between moments was just so incredible.
It's time for the fight of all their lives...and it will leave you breathless. The protectiveness and love all the characters have for one another is seriously so far off the charts. These are characters that you find yourself easily relating to and connecting to. There wasn't a moment that I wasn't feeling what they were...and that's what makes this ride so phenomenally perfect.
Follow your favourite gang and watch and experience as they band together to defeat such crazy odds. I said this before but you will experience so many emotions while reading this book...I nearly lost it in parts and was so close to messaging Jaymin while I lost my bananas lol but I persevered and you can too. So while you may feel exactly like this...I know I did!
Just know...no matter what they and us go through...
And it is so worth it.
Let's bring on the final chapters of Supernatural Academy and be prepared for the hellbringers...that were created to destroy the gods, without causing the world to be wiped out. But will they find the answers in time or will the consequences of finding the hellbringers be just as destructive? Guess you gonna have to read to find out 😉🤷🏻♀️So although you know that I know the answers...I'm not sharing hehe.
Get ready to meet our old favourites...I won't say who we meet because we need some mystery...but I really loved how we got to get reacquainted with these characters again...seriously a highlight for me....man you don't realise how much you've missed them until they appear on the page again! And guess what...girl gang...need I say more 😁
There is so much I want to tell you about this book but my brain is like being bossy and saying I can't give spoilers away...
So you know the second best use of duct tape?
You know it 😁
If you made it to the end of this with any sanity left in tact...well done and if you just left like...
Welcome to my world where nothing will make sense again. The drama llama just visited but I'm in semi mourning....so don't even judge...
So guess all that's left to say is...
Oh and be prepared for the killer hangover and the serious need for chocolate, pizza and coke...
Prepare to settle in and to ignore everything around you coz this book will suck you right in...it's totally magical and will give you everything you need.
Oh my gosh!! Hold. On. One. Minute. Just realised I never mentioned our main man. Asher...and although Axl reminds Maddie
“Books before boys, Maddison. Books before boys.” It was solid advice.
And although that is solid advice we gotto mention him because SWOON! Man how I love this dude...His love and protectiveness (and heck if you thought he was protective before, I'm certain its reached new levels in this book). Be prepared to love him more.
And basically be prepared to love all these characters more...their strengths truly are in each other.
"We all carry life’s heaviness at times, you more than any other, but when you have a team, you know you’ll never have to carry it alone."
You do not want to miss this EPIC finale to the Supernatural Academy books grab your pre-order copy today so you will get it the moment it lands on Amazon. I believe it releases 1st of March so not too much longer to wait. For those who have not read these books this is seriously the perfect time as there will be no waiting around (although its always worth the wait!) and you'll be able to binge read them all together.
Thanks to the fan-flippin-tastic Jaymin Eve for taking me on yet another incredible journey and for keeping my crazy butt on your ARC team. I feel very honoured to be able to help out in any way that I can. So although I may have wanted to scream text you at times...
Anywho, after all that crazy I'm out...so catch you later folks
*Super quick side note - This book is what I'd class as either NYA or Adult...it does contain language and sexual content - I'd strongly suggest that this material is aimed at a more mature audience.
I forgot I didn’t finish this book. I started in back in March and just put it down because it got cheesy and too extra. I picked it back up again last week and finally forced myself to slog through it so that I could close off the series. And my initial thoughts remain the same: too cheesy and too extra.
Honestly, this book, for me, was a letdown because I liked the first two books of the series while this just rubbed me the wrong way. Sorry to the fans.
OK I have thoughts, By the end of book 1, I was so attached to all the characters except Asher cuz he's a controlling lustful freak. But by the end of this book, I hate most of the characters specially Mads
I hate how she is known for her softness n kindness towards strangers, but not Connor, no! She didn't DESERVE his sacrifice as she really did not even try to know him, she just used him cz others told her to. She didn't care whether he died getting drunk or whatever when his sole motto was to unite with his family.
I mean who wouldn't want to have a family? He really thought of her as a sister only to be stabbed by her (literally)
And after finding out he died for her, cuz of her, what did she do? Instead of mourning she was like well I lived, Asher fk me. Wth so not guilty when your first thought is literally sex!!
Gah I liked Axl the best, n other side characters were cool. If this series continued, I wouldn't read it cz I hated both the MCs by the end of it. Glad it ended.
Asher n Maddison really were cringey, so not the main character energy. I liked Louis n Tee so much better..
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
It was interesting. But, again I felt it lacked in emotion. Also certain storylines weren't quite wrapped up like that of Josephine and Rayge, how did they get out of the underworld and where did they go afterwards? I would also have wanted to know how Atlantis was doing with all it's people back. And where was Maddie and all the others going to live. It just had to many loose ends. But, I did enjoy Maddie's character development, it was well done. Not a bad series, but not an amazing one either.
I really enjoyed the first book with Jessa & Braxton, but at some point I think this series lost it's way a bit. The stakes became just too high, the characters got over-powered and the magic system collapsed in on itself in a tangle of paradoxes. I hope Jaymin Eve starts a new series as I really enjoy her writing.
Pages: unknown My rating: 4 Read other books by this author in the future: yes MC: Maddie, Asher other Characters: Ilia, Larissa, Axl, Jesse, Rone, Calen
The conclusion of this series. We meet a few supes we know from Supernatural Prison series. Maddi has a hard time. So many thing to learn and try. And her brother is no help at the beginning. It was a great conclusion to this series.
It took me almost a week to rate my review about this book and yet .. no words can describe the greatness of it. Just a masterpiece. Although I would really like if we get some bonus chapters of all the characters fast forward in time.
I stopped reading at he 32% mark. At that point very little happened other than pages and pages of the main character gushing over how much her and the primary love interest were hot for each other or obsessing over how one of her guy friends is upset that she didn't choose him when the first guys disappeared in the previous book. There are a couple of pages of exposition to inch the plot along at a snail's pace; if that snail were lame and had cerebral palsy. When some action does happen, it's only to set the MC up as yet another forgettable, ultra-powerful Mary Sue.
Think of this as a next level Twilight. Every character either loves, is in love, or desires the MC. It's boring an unimaginative.
I know I'm not the target demographic for this, but still. Damn. Some originality wouldn't be misplaced.
These books just get more confusing as they go. How on earth is anyone supposed to keep everything that’s going on straight in their heads. I found them massively confusing. Sad really, because I truly enjoyed the first book.
WHAT AN ENDING MAN!!! Usually I can kind of see what is going to happen towards the end of a novel. You either know it is going to go exceptionally good or exceptionally bad in this case it went both!! Jaymin Eve you clever girl! My mind cannot even wrap around half the things I consumed in this book.
I went from being insanely happy, to pissed off, back to happy and completely heartbroken over Maddie's strength and courage, it never wavered. There is a bit in the acknowledgements where Eve states she does not think she is done with this world and I hope not. I need MORE!! This was a perfect ending to a perfect trilogy, but I want more of the Atlantian five like NOW!!
While this was a great series, with kinda cool characters, and intense chemistry........I was already losing major interest in it. Why? Because it just felt like it was the same thing, over and over again. So I'm just glad it's over.
This is book 3 in the Supernatural Academy series. This was an action packed ending. I really like getting to see the crossover characters from the Supernatural Prison series. It makes me want to go back and read those books all over again.
I am so sad that this series is over. So freaking sad.
Year 3 of the supernatural academy and the conclusion to this series was just everything. Every question I had was answered, every suspicion confirmed and so much crazy that happened I had a hard time getting my head around it all and letting this series go.
Maddison's character has gone through tremendous amounts of growth throughout the three books and I love it for her. She was still the same fiesty, fierce leading lady from book one but she grew into her self more and became confident in who she was and her crazy path in this life. I loved her loyalty and confidence in the ones she loved. I lived for her fiery outbursts and need to take charge and I adored her relationship with all the characters. She is just such a well rounded depthy character.
This story brings us to the end of their journey and I have to be honest there was moments of sheer shock and surprise and there was also times I expected it but it didn't change my reading experience. This crazy unique world that's intricately woven through three books with larger that life characters and so much going on did not fail to hit the mark. If anything it exceeds it and then some. I was so completely invested in their journey and the world and so curious for what was to come. I laughed, I ranted and raved and I cried because it's that much of a rollercoaster. This whilst having a very substantial plot was so character driven for me. I lived for the relationships between all the characters both old and new and familiar. I found myself living for those sweet moments of love between them all in their own unique ways. The chemistry, the banter and the bickering all made it feel all that much more real and at times relatable. I love it and that special bond between the atlantean 6 .. it truly was something so much more than I realised it could be in the first book.
I don't want to spoil anything so I'm trying be as vague as possible but assuming you've read the first two ... because this book won't make s lick of sense if you haven't. You already know the dynamics between all the characters and this book really hits home with just how much love they have and how far they are willing to go for one another. It's action packed, suspenseful, shocking, heartbreaking and so fukcing sweet. Honestly I am greedy so I would of happily read another book or 5 on these fascinating outrageous characters and all their crazy shenanigans but Jaymin really did them justice and wrapped up this book and series perfectly.
I'm obsessed with this author and her weird, wonderful and wacky worlds. If you love pnr with a few twists.. strong characters all around and a story that will continue to surprise you.. then you'll love this. It's not angsty nor does it have a tone of filler shit in the story. It's just a well written well rounded story with great plot progression and huge personalities and that fill the pages.
I can’t believe it’s been nearly a year since this series came out. I also can’t believe I stuck along and actually continued to read it. I’m normally a person who waits for a series to finish. There may have been some iffy parts for me, but overall this was really enjoyable.
This was good. Jaymin Eve does so many things right and that’s why she’s definitely my paranormal/fantasy go to. She also writes pretty hot smut. It’s always a bummer to me when I get good world building, but the author draws the short stick with the romance. With Jaymin Eve you get the best of both worlds.
I’m so glad my book slump ended. Now I need to re-read the her RH series (maybe) and find a new fanrasy book since I’m in the mood.
I really enjoyed the first two books in this trilogy, but the third was a bit of a letdown. I listened to this in audio and like the main narrator a great deal. However, at about the halfway point the author throws in a few chapters from Asher’s POV, and we have a male narrator who did not work for me at all. I felt his voice was often stilted and he used odd affect to convey emotions. I still find many of the main characters interesting, but the book seemed to evolve into endless battles to save the world. I missed the time at the Academy, and especially missed some of Madison’s friends who were left behind at the school when she went off to save the world. I found this easy to put down in many places, and would give it a C-/C, so three stars here.
Supernatural Academy:Year Three is packed with so much content, I couldn't begin to summarize the story.
Highlights include finally solving the riddle of the origin of the Atlanteans, understanding the creation and recreation of the world and all the human and supernatural races.
Maddie and Asher's final year is spent trying to prevent the destruction of the world, finding a special mate bond and then losing it, only to regain it again.
The finale is spectacular. As the Atlanteans and various supernaturals feverishly work to prevent chaos, you'll cry, despair, get angry, confused and, by the end, you'll be exhausted with a huge smile on your face. I can't recommend this series highly enough!
The amount of creativity that is needed to bring a book like this together is mind-blowing to think about. The depth of Maddi's compassion for her family and the Earth was one of my favorite parts to read about. I loved how it was this love and compassion that saved Maddi and the world in the end, it was quite fitting! The chapter where the gang to to visit Stratford and hang out with the Supernatural Prison gang was one of my favorites and I sense that there will be a series starring the Compass-Lebron children at some point and I cannot wait until that day! A fitting ending to such a crazy journey!
Wow what an ending to a fantastic trilogy, I loved it. Jaymin Eve has written a brilliant and entertaining story that just grabs hold and doesn't let go, absolutely captivating. Madison is such a kickass character and her interactions with others around her show cases her strength. I will have a hell of a book hangover.
Jaymin says in her acknowledgments that this world means so much to her and I can’t stress enough that this world has been everything to her readers! I’ve read Jaymin eve for a long time and she always leaves me wanting more of the worlds she creates. This series has been an epic addition to this world. I will save all my tears for Jacobs story!
What a crazy finale to this series! So much happened and it was completely insane!! There is still a lot that has been left unsaid but not in a way that leaves you disappointed. This was a series I was quite enraptured with and enjoyed reading every moment! A mature supernatural story was one I could get behind
Jaymin did not disappoint! This ending was perfect. What a ride with Maddie and the Atlanteans. I cried and laughed and was so caught up in the story. It truly was sweet sadness that its over but it was so worth it Love love love Jaymin's writing, you can never go wrong with any of her books!
I loved it. So glad we go got to see so many from supernatural prison and the kiddos. I hope we get a spin off to see if the rest get their happy ever after.
