Look, my life was a living hell long before I died on Frost Mountain. The plane crash? Just another regular day. I guess it’s what happens when you get cursed by a witch.
Too bad I can’t stay dead—at least I wouldn’t be stuck on this magical mountain. And I wouldn’t have met him. But this sexy shifter found my corpse.
He brought me to Dragon’s Den.
Big mistake.
It’s almost Valentine’s Day, but there’s no love in this town. There’s a murderous dragon on the loose… And if he isn’t stopped, a dark history will repeat itself.
My savior will stop at nothing to protect his home… Even if it means his own death. But that’s exactly what I’m worried about. Because I lose people to my curse on Valentine’s Day. And this sizzling man just might be next.
Author's Note: This is a steamy stand alone romance intended for mature audiences. It is part of the HOLIDAY SHIFTERS OF FROST MOUNTAIN series. You can expect to see your favorite characters overlap throughout the books.
Lisa Daniels is a (young) retired school teacher who resides in Miami. After five years of teaching, Lisa Daniels found that it wasn’t quite the world that she wanted to inhabit. After leaving her position, she moved to Miami. She hasn’t regretted it.
In her worlds, Lisa Daniels creates characters that go beyond the usual narrative. While they definitively include romance, Lisa Daniels strives to make the worlds more real with characters that are more than just cardboard cutouts of the genre. All of the main characters (and many of the secondary ones) have a rich history that span much longer than the stories themselves. This makes it easy to weave the stories together so that you can see characters you met in previous tales and see how they have managed since.
The Dragons of Letera is her first standalone series. Letera is a world teaming with romance, action, and stories – it is a world that Lisa Daniels loves to explore with her readers, one character at a time.
This book is part of the Holiday Shifters of Frost Mountain series and the main characters are Hazel Miller, a flight attendant, who ends up cursed by an angry passenger, and dragon shifter Rowan Flameheart, who is the sole dragon on Frost Mountain, or at least he had thought he was. Hazel finds that her curse leaves her unable to die, but to live to see all of those she loves dying on Valentine’s Day. The flight she is on suddenly breaks apart and she ends up dropping out of the sky onto a snow covered mountain, that shouldn’t be there. Two months later, her twisted body is uncovered in an avalanche, right in front of Rowan and his wolf companion, Laia, as they patrolled the village of Dragon’s Den. She is clearly dead from falling from the last plane to crash into the mountain, which exists in some sort of hidden realm, but comes alive in a sickening pop of broken bones realigning, as he carries her along! He takes her to his friend and the only person to trust him anymore, Angela, at the tavern she owns and runs. They have been friends since they both lost their parents due to the events of the Cataclysm some fifteen years ago.
For the last few weeks, the village has been attacked by a dragon with different coloured scales to Rowan, but the villagers are still convinced that he is responsible and want him dead. Thankfully the police chief believes him and sticks up for him, before any of the villagers can deal out their own kind of justice. Hazel doesn’t realise quite how long she has been dead this time, and has the shock of the news that Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. The day also has its own bad memories for Rowan and the inhabitants of Frost Mountain, a place they are all cursed never to be able to leave. All the other dragons who inhabited the place years ago, are now long dead or gone, but someone is hiding the fact they are a dragon, to kill and destroy those in the village, and Rowan is determined to stop them and bring them to face justice. A group of witches imprisoned them all in this realm and it seems an evil witch, who originally said she would help them, ended up taking over the minds of many of the shifters, making them kill others in the village, thus the Cataclysmic events of the recent past. As Hazel gets close to Angela and Rowan, she fears history repeating itself, but she is unable to stay away from Rowan for long as attraction pulls them ever closer. He will die protecting his village and proving his innocence, but it seems many think him guilty just because of what he is. A nice mix of paranormal, people stuck in a prison for what they are not what they have done, and the curse of a witch bringing Hazel and Rowan together to face the curse that is Valentine’s Day! A touch of romance and the hope that things will change. I received an ARC copy of this book form BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
Hazel Miller was one of the stewardesses on the flight that ended up crashing through the Portal and breaking up on Frost Mountain. On a previous flight a while ago, her life changed forever when during some turbulence, she spilled a drink and then food onto a woman of means. Angry, the woman happened to be a witch and cursed her. Now every year on Valentine’s Day, she loses someone she loves. She has lost so much and now she plummets to the Mountain and is found during the avalanche dead. Because of that curse, she alone survives all of the tragedies that have happened on Valentine’s Day.
Valentine’s Day, 15 years ago, a witch tells the people on Frost Mountain that she will try and help them break the Curse, to free them from the Mountain. However, something happens, and she turns on them. When the shifters confront her, she takes them over and a lot of people die in Dragon’s Den. Afterwards, when they are all free, another tragedy strikes. Read the book to find out what that was. I cried a lot in this book. But, it also made me laugh and it was also romantic. Rowan Flameheart is the last dragon standing in Dragon’s Den. A lot of the people of the town believes he is the dragon that is attacking the town. But, it isn’t him. He finds Hazel and brings her to town to his friend Angela, who handles the tavern. Laia is the wolf who wanders with Rowan. Rowan finally sees the other dragon and keeps trying to capture it. To no avail. Valentine’s Day was almost there. A lot of stuff happens in this book. I didn’t see who the bad guy was and we get to see a surprise character from another book, I never wanted to see again. Ugh. As soon as I saw his name, I was like noooooo, not him again! The book was tragic, romantic, sweet, some action and a few fights. I really loved it and I can’t wait to read the next book. I’m still waiting on the other witch sister’s book! Come on, she deserves a mate too.
I love some of the ways the people of Frost Mountain take care of each other. Plus, they use what they find from the wreckage of the planes, ships, etc. that end up coming to their dimension from ours.

If you think Valentine’s Day is all about chocolates and roses, think again—especially on Frost Mountain. A Dragon Den Valentine’s by Lisa Daniels is a thrilling, heart-stopping paranormal romance that blends danger, desire, and a dash of dark magic into a story you won’t be able to put down.
Hazel Miller’s life—or rather, her afterlife—starts with a plane crash, a deadly curse, and an encounter with the most irresistible dragon shifter imaginable: Rowan Flameheart. Cursed to survive while those she loves die, Hazel faces the chilling reality that Valentine’s Day brings nothing but heartbreak. Yet in the midst of the snow-covered mountains and a village trapped in its own mysterious magic, Rowan’s fire—both literal and figurative—offers warmth, protection, and an attraction she can’t resist.
Rowan, the sole dragon of Dragon’s Den, is burdened with past trauma, mistrust from the villagers, and a deadly threat on the horizon. But when Hazel is thrust into his life—literally rising from the dead—he discovers a connection he can’t ignore. Together, they must unravel a web of curses, witches, and shadowed pasts before history repeats itself in blood and fire.
Lisa Daniels excels at creating a rich, immersive world where danger is constant, but romance shines brighter than ever. The slow-burn chemistry between Hazel and Rowan crackles with tension, while the high stakes of curses, dragons, and village politics keep the pages turning. What stands out most is the blend of peril and hope, showing that even in a world where magic can kill, love can ignite.
Hazel is a flight attendant who was cursed by a witch that was one of her passengers she accidentally spilled on. She’s cursed to lose the people she loves but be immortal and continue to see the bad things happen every Valentine’s Day. Rowan is a dragon shifter who lost his parents in a massacre on Valentine’s Day. When Hazel’s plane crash lands into Rowan’s Mountain, which is in a different dimension that can’t be escaped, she has to stay and hope nothing bad happens on the upcoming Valentine’s Day.
I really enjoyed the background and idea behind the story and characters but it didn’t really pan out in a very interesting way. I got a little bored in the middle and almost didn’t finish, which for a novella was unexpected. Very thought provoking premise and one spicy scene but overall kind of disappointing.

Flight attendant Hazel (h) was cursed several years before Flight 81 – cursed to be immortal and to endure a tragic loss every Valentine’s day. When a midflight disaster sees Flight 81 plummeting towards a snowy mountain, Hazel is thrown from the plane to the surface of Frost Mountain where she lies deep in the snow, dead with countless broken bones, until dragon shifter Rowan (H) finds her corpse which then reforms before his eyes, and she breathes again. The town of Dragon’s Den experiences a series of attacks by another dragon and all eyes are on Rowan as the culprit, especially given the town’s terrible Valentine’s Day events from years before. As Rowan and Hazel get to know one another, things heat up, and they both worry what Valentine’s Day will bring. Lots of mysteries, curses, magics, and secrets, as Rowan and Hazel slowly build a connection with one another.
Hazel Miller is a flight attendant who had been cursed by a witch for spilling a drink on her during turbulence in the plane. But Hazel is the only one who will wake again. When Rowan finds her dead body in the snow, he sees her heal in his arms!
In the meantime, a rogue dragon is attacking people. Rowan Flameheart, another dragon with a kind heart, tries to protect the town, but they think he is the attacker and are ungrateful. Hazel is cursed , in more than one way. I liked how she was able to still live her life. She fears loving anyone. I liked her determination. Her job helps once she is found by Rowan. Rowan has his own problems. Shunned for something he did not do. He has very few "friends" who support him. But he is determined to protect the village. I liked the chemistry between the two. The twists were good. Some I did not see coming, some I hoped for. Steam to the eventual romance. HEA for the two.

Flight 18 crashed on Frost Mountain, causing Hazel to fall from thousands of feet in the air and breaking every bone in her body upon landing. Two months later, Rowan discovers her buried in the snow. He carries her towards the town of Dragon Den, but her bones begin to set, and soon, she is alive again, all thanks to the witch who had cursed Hazel. This quick read has action, romance, and steam, ending in a HEA. Very highly recommended.

This was pretty interesting. It's a bit skimpy on characterization, but what's important is Hazel and Rowan have both been deeply affected by tragedy. They are both a bit messed up, but also pretty cool people. And even with the limited amount of time they are together on page it's clear what a good fit they are. It's quick and interesting with a little mystery, a little heartache, a little romance and a very rewarding HEA.
Hazel is cursed to be immortal and every Valentine's Day she loses someone due to the curse. Rowan is a dragon shifter who finds Hazel after the plane crash on Frost Mountain and something interesting happens right before him. I loved this addition to the Holiday Shifters of Frost Mountain series. From the interesting characters and storyline to the mystery and great ending, this is a great read. I look forward to reading the rest of this series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
A human woman was cursed by a witch for spilling coffee and food on her by accident. She has been unable to die for the past 4 years. A male dragon shifter is caught in an avalanche and after digging himself out he finds the body of a dead woman also buried in the snow. You will have to read the book to find out what all happens to everyone. Happy reading!
Arc review I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Hazel miller was cursed by a witch and now she finds herself in another dimension all she a think is what else can happen .I loved this story because through everything she still has the courage and heart to take a try to protect others .
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Curses and witches cause a lot of problems. However maybe Hazel's curse will give her another chance at love with Rowan. I like that Rowan finally gets the apologies he was owed when the true attacker was revealed.
Once again Lisa Daniels and Scarlett Stone did a good job own this book. The story had suspense and surprise to it. I never would have though of the girl that tended three raven and war the dragon's friend was the cause of the trouble. But at least it was over. And it had a HEA.
This can be read as a standalone, but also part of a series. I have only ready one other from this series and it was fun to see one of the characters from the flight scene with a new pov! This book centers more on magic and the how/why the mountain is the way it is! Love a good backstory and tragic valentines.
A Dragon Den Valentine's (Holiday Shifters of Frost Mountain)
This has some very intriguing side stories in the tale. Hazel has been cursed by a Witch, and is unable to die herself. She has witnessed the deaths of her parents, friends, and boyfriend's every Valentine's Day. Her plane crashed into Frost Mountain, and her life took another turn.
Book 4 of the series and it's dragons now! Yay! I love how this series is going, unpredictable, full of action, steam and romance. This series keeps getting better and more interesting with each installment!.

This was a very good holiday shifter story. It was funny and sad and romantic at the same time. love the mountain. The characters were very well written you could feel their emotions come through. A nice romantic HEA.
If you pretend this wasn't a romance it wasn't bad. The action scenes were really well written, but the romance was unbelievable and just felt like it was told to me and I never felt it.
This enjoyable story in this series is about Hazel Miller our flight attendant and her fateful adventures after the plane crashed on Frost Mountain. An angry passenger cursed Hazel, "To live until she falls in love, then she will lose everything". Hazel discovers she's healing miraculously and those she loves die, so she has forbidden herself to fall in love. After the crash she's found by Rowan Flameheart a dragon shifter who was patrolling with his wolf Laia to find the dragon shifter that's been attacking the village. Seeing the culprit, he starts to follow when an avalanche starts and buries them. Thats when Laia finds Hazel's dead body. Planning to bury her, Rowan watches Hazel body heal in his arms. What happens afterward is an engaging romantic story as our couple get to know each other during Valentine's Day week. Will Rowan capture the culprit responsible for the tragedies? Will Hazel's curse be lifted? I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
