Paisley McCoy is a sexy reporter who writes about the San Francisco club scene for a local magazine. Having a dad on the force has led to one hard and fast rule – she doesn’t date cops. She likes her men sensitive and intellectual, two qualities in short supply in any cop she’s ever met. But now she’s stuck with this standard-issue cop – aggressive, opinionated, and sure he’s always right. In short, the complete opposite of the kind of man she usually goes for.
Gray Beckham is a no-nonsense cop who's peeved about being taken off a major burglary investigation to babysit the captain’s bratty daughter, even if she is gorgeous. To make it even more annoying, she acts like the whole thing is a joke and insists she doesn’t need his protection. And while she might be sexy as hell, there’s no way he’s going anywhere near the captain’s daughter.
Despite their differences, though, Paisley and Gray can’t deny the chemistry between them. But as that connection turns into romance, they find out the stalker is a far greater threat than they had originally thought. And that if he can’t have her, no one will.

Paige Tyler is an amazing author, love all her books and this one is no different!
Put me in 'Protective Custody' if I can meet up with a sexy inspector like Gray Beckham! ;)
Paisley McCoy is a strong willed, independent woman that likes things her way. She loves her job, and why not she gets to play while she works or is it works while she plays! Writing reviews on Nightclubs for the San Francisco local magazine has it's benefits until Paisley finds herself in a stalker situation! Will she be able to keep the promise to herself, of never getting involved with a cop when Inspector Gray Beckham is assigned to protect her?
Inspector Gray Beckham...does that have a sexy ring to it or what y'all!? Gray is the lead on a major burglary investigation and when he's pulled off this case to babysit, he's not happy no matter how hot & bodacious Paisley McCoy is...even if she has sexy legs up to her neck and it sure don't matter that she's the Captains daughter! But dang, he has eyes and can see for himself she is one fine woman... Can Gray keep this 'babysitting' detail professional or will the rules go right out the window, even when danger lurks in the shadows!?
Love the plot, it kept me guessing throughout the whole book and talk about sexy scenes that not only burned up the sheets but the pages too!
Thanks for another fabulous read Paige, keep them coming cause I want more! Cant wait for your new series X-OPS! :)
This was a good read for me. It has a stalker, a sexy inspector, a sexy captain's daughter and hot steaming sex. This is my first full length novel by the author and I enjoyed it as well as entertained. It's an erotic contemporary and though it has a lot of sex it comes with a storyline. Contains graphic erotic sex and spanking.
Paisley works as a reviewer for night clubs, her office was just broken into and now her home. Her father is the captin of SFPD and is concern for his daughter's safety. Paisley's father takes Gary off a stake out case to bodyguard his daughter until the burglar who turns out to be a stalker is apprehended. Gary isn't too happy about the situation but is more than willing to do it. Paisley isn't too happy either but both Paisley and Gray will surely enjoy each others company.
By the first chapter you definitely felt the chemistry between Gary and Paisley. Although there is a plot to the story about Paisley's stalker, time was spent on the couples growing physical attraction. Paisely tries to get to know Gary throughout his time with her but Gary was a little closed off because of his past relationship with his ex girlfriend as she couldn't deal with him being a cop. Their sex scenes became hotter with every scene. For me personally, I'm kind of glad their sexual chemistry wasn't a build up because it would make it seemed dragged out. As for the plot when they thought they figured out who the stalker is things take a turn and there was a twist.
The only thing I didn't like which is minor, even though Gary asks Paisely to marry him she said she loved him. Gary didn't say he loved her, though you sense his feelings for her as love as well. I would of loved to hear him say it as well, it makes it seem more complete to me.
I loved paisley and gray! hes a hot cop who doesn't want to babysit the bosses daughter! but is pulled off his case to do so! she doesn't want to be babysat! but well you know put two hotties together and you get protective custody! he loved that she is spunky and smart he doesn't like she has a stalker! she hates that hes a cop! but she loves that hes hot, smart and willing! they work really well together and the stalker was creepy! took me most of the book to figure out who it was very nicely played! ;) I read through this one pretty quick mostly because I didnt want to put it down! it was the second read of the new year and well worth it! looking for more great stuff from paige very soon!
Protective Custody is a great story featuring a club reporter Paisley McCoy and Inspector Gray Beckham. Gray is assigned to watch over Paisley after her office is broken into and her apartment is almost broken into. Turns out Paisley has a stalker and Gray is the perfect cop to keep Paisley protected and out of trouble.
I really enjoyed the story-line, the bit of mystery of who the stalker was, and of course the erotic scenes, especially the spanking one. I love Paige's writing style. Highly recommend!
"I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads."
This is a well written story about a cop's daughter with a stalker, and the inspector detailed to look after her. Clever plot, steamy romance and desired ending - perfect escapism!
Paisley has a stalker and her police chief father assigns detective Gray as her bodyguard. Their attraction is instant and explosive. Despite the danger that Paisley is in, the focus of the book is her and Grays growing relationship. The stalker stays in the background of this story and that's fine by me.I figured out early on who it was anyway and it didn't detract from the story at all. This book is hotter than hell, and I couldn't get enough of Paisley and Gray. Easy short sexy read.
When the Captain's daughter needs a bodyguard he chooses his best Inspector. Gray Beckham. When Beckham is called into the Captain's office after being pulled off a stake out he knew something was up. That's where he meets the Capain's Bratty daughter. When Paisley's office is broken into then someone tries to break into her apartment it's Gray Beckham who has the honor of baby sitting her. This is a short smexy instant attraction read and I loved it. I kind of thought it may have been a deranged cop who was stalking her but wasn't sure who. This is a one day or less read but it's good. I happen to be a fan of Paige Tyler's books so I totally enjoyed this one.
This was a fun, light read that I found really enjoyable. It has some hot moments and a hot alpha male, just up my alley!!!
Paisley (is that really a name???) has a father who is a Police Chief, so when it appears she has a stalker of the crazy variety, he assigns his best Inspector to be her 24 hour body guard. The minute she sets her eyes on the man candy by the name of Gray she knows she is done for, she makes one half arsed attempt to get away from him, which he curtails swiftly. Gray, is none too impressed that he has been dragged away from a major burglary investigation to babysit the Chief's daughter, but it does not take long for him to see the brighter side of things.
The attraction between Paisley and Gray is instant and when the stalker starts racking up bodies in the name of love Gray's protective side comes out and he ships her off to his family's lodge in the woods to keep her safe. The attraction between Gray and Paisley is evident, but with all the time they are together a true friendship develops, and they learn more and more about each other and both come to realise that in the few days they have know each other they have actually established a beautiful relationship.
Gray is a good old alpha male whose job as a cop is perfect for him! The last thing he wants in his life is a woman, so he is as shocked as the next person when he falls form someone like Paisley. To be honest with you when I read the synopsis I expected Paisley to be a bit of a flake, but I was pleasantly surprised that she was a smart, down to earth woman who despite having a control freak father was an independent woman. As much as Paisley shies away from cops, and guys who like a submissive partner, there is just something about that way Gray talks to her and looks at her that makes her want to follow behind him panting like a puppy.
Sure this book is a bit predictable, but I didn't really care because I was enjoying Gray and Paisleys ride so much, the author could have fluffed it up a bit and made the book longer, but I still really enjoyed the concept and the storyline.
Paisley McCoy's office just got broken into. She didn't want to make a big deal about--after all, they didn't take anything. But then someone tries to get into her home, while she's there. Left with no choice but to tell her father, who just happens to be the Chief of Police for the SFPD, she must except that the hunky, by the book bodyguard her father assigned to protect her, might be the best distraction she's ever wanted.
He was on a stakeout, and now his chances of catching the SOB might be in jeopardy because he has to play babysitter to the Chief's daughter. But, when Inspector Gray Beckham feasts his eyes on the feisty Paisley, he has to not only protect her from a deadly, stop at nothing psycho, he also has to remember to keep his hands off of her. Something she's not making easy for him. Warning: erotic sex, spanking, and one hell of a sexy cop!
*Giggles* Paige Tyler, I'm in love! And, by the way, the cover to this is soooo sexy! YUMMY I loved the struggle between the two characters. Emotionally you didn't give away why Gray was so reluctant, too early. Paisley wasn't pushy, which at first I thought she'd be, and I was happy to see her emotions surface when she thought about losing him. The plot was full, and being the incredible sleuth that I am, the puzzle wasn't complete in my head until a page or two before the reveal! *round of applause* That's what I want!! The sex scenes were incredible and all limbs were where they were supposed to be. Another big plus when doing these complex deliveries.
All and all, Ms. Tyler has delivered another story with heat and heart. If you're looking for a mystery with some erotic love, these character libidos will have you amazed! Congratulations on Four Blue Roses!
This was just okay....I was not terribly impressed by the introduction of the "villain" aka the stalker. It was just so obvious who he was and the whole connection with the gum chewing was so unnecessary. I could see it being something if it had to do with evidence left behind at the crime scene or at Paisley's apartment or something but it just seemed too vague and obvious of a connection. I think Paige Tyler should give her readers a little more credit than that because the stalker was obvious once he was introduced to the main characters.
So all in all well written and a quick and enjoyable read even though I did put it down for a while. It doesn't have the most entertaining beginning and the initial interaction between Paisley and Grey seems very unrealistic. Actually it just felt really strange considering that whole spanking thing didn't really go anywhere after that. It did not become a major factor in their relationship more like something they tried and it's not essential to the sexual relationship. Just a strange way to get the characters in a sexual situation really.
Lastly the uber happy ending was just too strange for me. They magically run off into the sunset together riding the same high without anything really pushing their relationship that far within a week maybe pushing it to two weeks of knowing each other? Don't get me wrong I am totally one for a happy ending but this isn't regency romance and I'm betting there are more issues surrounding Grey's failed relationship that he ran away from back in Washington. Plus he kept mentioning how he would love to move back there.
So many issues and none of them addressed in the book; everything just wrapped up into a neat bow of an impending marriage. *Sigh* It all just seemed like a cheap way to end a book with no issues worked out between the characters.
Protective Custody was another fabulous read by Paige Tyler. She has yet to disappoint me.
In this story, we have a headstrong, very independent woman named Paisley McCoy, who father happens to be the police chief. When her father finds out that her office at work was broke into and someone tried to break into her home, he puts her into protective custody with one of his Inspector’s, Gray Beckham. Gray, was pulled off a burglary stakeout and isn’t too happy with the situation, even after meeting the Chief’s sexy daughter.
What I loved the most about this book, was the fact that neither, Gray or Paisley were too happy about the circumstances, but they made the best of it. There was no drama, no game playing. Just two people making the best of it, while coming to terms with the intense attraction between them. The heat these two generated, just leap off the pages.
In the meantime, the readers are given small glimpses into the mind and thoughts of Paisley’s pursuer. Paige keeps readers guessing till the very end. Well play Ms. Paige.
Protective Custody had everything I needed, mystery, intrigue, adventure and romance. One hot alpha male and one strong willed female that blended perfectly.
It was long enough to feel like I was getting the complete story but short enough for me to finish in one evening.
God how I love a good cop story. And this meets the mark. Inspector Gray Beckham is asked to protect his boss's daughter Paisley McCoy from a robber who turns out to be a murderer. He is upset to be babysitting and especially doesn't want to babysit a spoiled brat. She doesn't like cops and sees him as bossy and demanding. As expected, the sparks fly right off and Gray doesn't hesitate to give her some good old fashioned discipline to establish who is in charge in this relationship. However, the unexpected thing for both of them---they did not expect to be sexually attracted to each other.
The sex scenes are amazing and will have you squirming in your chair. The twists and turns in determining who-dunit is quite interesting. Just when you think you have guessed who the murderer is, the plot twists again.
I only wish the book was longer. But this book is worth the time and money, do yourself a favor and buy it.
Paisley is a headstrong twenty-eight year old who writes reviews of the local nightclubs for the San Francisco Bay Beat. When her office is broken into and someone tries to break into her home while she’s in it her father who is the Captain of the police department decides she need round the clock protection and assigns one of his officers, Gary Beckham.
Gary is a by the book cop and it isn’t long before he is having to show the headstrong Paisley how serious he takes his job by putting her over his knee. These two have instant chemistry but when things escalate to murder Gary knows he needs to find Paisley’s stalker and quick before the woman he’s come to care about gets hurt.
This is a quick read that full of suspense, sexy loving and mild domestic discipline.
I received this ARC for a honest review. There's a cop, a reporter, sex, suspense and a stalker. I truly enjoyed this story. Paisley is a reporter who has a stalker. Gray is an inspector her father, the chief of police, assigns to stay with her. They try to fight their attraction but finally give in to it. *****SPOILER****** One part the stalker has Paisley in the warehouse and Gray comes in... he tells the stalker they can make this right and he says " bullshit I'm a cop I know how this works." He shoots Gray and then he turns the gun on Paisley and Gray raises up & shoots him. I'm thinking since he was a cop he should have expected him to be wearing a bulletproof vest!
I really did like this book. So pick it up and enjoy!
Protective Custody was a wonderful book with a plot that will keep you on your toes and off to a safe house yourself. What? The sex scenes are so hot, not only will you be squirming in your seat, you might need some alone time with your bed, that's why you need a safe house ;)
Anyways, aside from the scorching sizzling sex between the hottie cop and good girl this story has a great storyline. I read it all in one day just because I couldn't put it down. When it was revealed who the bad guy was I was shocked. It wasn't expected at all... and no, I'm not going to spoil it, you have to read it for yourself.
Overall, this was a beautiful romance story with plenty of spanking, handcuffs and scorching kinky fun sexxx. Highly recommend!
I received this book free from Amazon and I am voluntarily writing an honest review. First let me say I love this authors romantic suspense books. Paisley is the daughter of the San Francisco Chief of Police and is the object of an obsessive stalker. Her father puts her in Protective Custody with Inspector Gray Beckham until the stalker is caught which escalates the stalkers aggression exhibited by killing her ex boyfriend. While hiding out in a safe house she receives a cell phone call from her stalker telling her he knows the address of the safe house. She and Gray go deep into hiding where only Gray knows where they are. Oh of course since they are 24/7 lockdown and attracted to each other they can explore their attraction .
I received and ARC in exchange for an honest review.
The thing I loved about this book, yes of course it had lots of sex in it so not that, is that it kept me in the dark until toward the end of who she needed protective custody from. There was nothing like in lots of books that gave it away. I am such an avid reader that I normally see signs of the who done it's. This one I did not.
However, in a few places there were words missing. This in no way reflects solely on the author so I have chosen not to allow this to cloud my rating on her book.
Well-done romantic suspense, even though the bad guy is telegraphed pretty early on. The Chief's daughter is being troubled by what seems to be a stalker, and said stalker is being more and more territorial. Dad thinks 24-hour protection is in order. Inspector Grey Beckham is working on a burglary detail and is surprised to be pulled off to babysit the Chief's daughter. Said daughter is not happy about it, either.
However, as you might expect, they take one look at each other and sparks fly; a little more than sparks, as it happens. Previously mentioned stalker is unhappy and precipitates the unhappy climax.
3 1/2 stars. These kind of stories are a dime a dozen, yet I really love to read them. The only issue I have with the story is that the main couple thinking about love after only a couple of days...hello! attraction/lust doesn't equal love. The story was really short, so I assume that is the reason for the accelerated feelings, although I don't need to hear the couple say anything of the sort just to like the story.
Paisley McCoy's desk at her office was ransacked and when she got home later, someone tried to break in. Being a daughter of a police captain had it's advantages and disadvantages. Gray Beckham was asked by the captain to watch over his daughter. There is a stalker out there after her. They are thrown together. I liked the story very much and think you wouldn't be disappointed. There are a lot of steamy sex scenes in this book. I read this book as part of a boxed set of the Dangerous Dozen.
This review is from: Protective Custody (Kindle Edition) I just read Paige Tyler's new book protective Custody.I suggest you read it early. I started it at night and was up till 2 AM because I couldn't put it down. It has a little bit of many things, mystery, suspense, erotic spanking and hot sex. I won't be a spoiler but there are some Red Herrings.
First I would like to say I received a copy of this book for free. But I really did like it. I thought the development of Paisly and Grays relationship was great. Just enough angst to make it funny. I thought the ending, who stalked her was predictable. Although Paige had me questioning myself a few times at first.
Super sexy cop and the bosses daughter. The Captains daughter is being stalked and the Capt. assigns the new guy to protect her. The stalker escalates and so does the heat between Paisley and Police Inspector Gray Beckham. I loved the heat but I knew who the stalker was from the beginning. Not a bad story just not as great as Paige Tyler's other work.
A Recommended Read! Ms. Tyler captivated me with her writing style, impressive voice, and extremely well developed characters. To view the rest of this review, please visit http://thereadersroundtable.com/eroti...
Good cop/ romance. I enjoyed the plot and the characters. This author does a good sex scene, both action and dialogue. I've read ms. Tyler a number of times and will try to find more that interest me.
Hot police inspector protects police chief's daughter from stalker. Very steamy, good storyline, crazy stalker, you sorta have a clue who is it but wasn't sure until stalker actually gets her.
