Stella Black needs a place to hide out from her ex. Mistletoe Creek is just the place to start over. And for once the universe smiles on Stella and gives her the perfect job opportunity.
If she can overlook the nerve-wracking interview.
And her sexy-as-sin new boss.
Kashton Saint is no saint at all. He lives fast and hard. He does what he wants and doesn’t think twice about anyone else. And the small town charm? More like claustrophobia for the village bad boy.
He needs to make it through his current case without strangling his client, and he needs Stella’s assistance for the duration.
If he can ignore her gorgeous red lips.
And the way she looks underneath the mistletoe.
How hard can it be for two people to ignore their attraction and the presence of mistletoe?
Sasha Marshall is a romance author with an inexplicable attraction to fictional men who probably wouldn’t return her texts in real life. Before channeling her attention deficit disorder into crafting happily-ever-afters, she spent her days as a professional herder of teenagers—think cats, but with more attitude and fewer survival instincts. Prior to that therapeutic experience, she documented the slow descent into madness that comes with touring alongside The Allman Brothers Band, wielding her camera like a weapon against sleep deprivation and questionable tour bus hours.
These days, when she’s not forcing her characters into compromising positions (literally—it’s called “romantic tension”), you can find her being emotionally manipulated by her two dogs, pretending her loved ones don’t secretly judge her book covers, engaging in crafts that look nothing like the Pinterest inspiration, or orchestrating literary chaos through Hot & Steamy Events—because apparently organizing book signings is what passes for a social life in the romance world.
She writes about bad boys with tattoos because, let’s face it, someone has to give these fictional delinquents the character development they desperately need.
Mistletoe Wishes was a fast paced read. It was hallmark worthy with a side of darkness and spice. Kash is a little (A lot) hot to handle when Stella meets him in the most obscene situation. Stella being shy and interviewing for a job that she is praying to get. Neither Kash nor Stella are ready for what comes next. This is a funny dark romcom and I have to say it left me laughing and seriously misty eyed. Great Christmas read, but I would read it throughout the rest of the year too.
Mistletoe Wishes - Sasha Marshall Book 1 of the Mistletoe Creek Series
Thank you Sasha Marshall for sending me this book to review!
My Review: My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice: 🌶🌶🌶 Pages: 131 Genre: Romance Tropes: Enemies To Lovers, Small Town Romance, Workplace Romance
Stella is on the run to escape an abusive relationship. Finds herself in Mistletoe Creek.
Kash is an attorney needing a paralegal and an assistant. His retiring assistant immediately hires Stella.
Their first meeting is hilarious. Kash doesn’t exactly make a good first impression on his new employee.
After agreeing to her terms to continue in his employment he gets to work trying to change her opinion of him.
This book is typical Sasha Marshall. She writes characters that keep you in hysterics and have you rooting for them to win their hearts desire. Her characters are multi layered and I guarantee you will fall in love with them.
I can’t wait for more books in this series!!! I very highly recommend. I also very highly recommend her Guitar Face series! It is one of my all time favorite series.
Super cute holiday novella! It’s a small town romance. Stella goes in for a job interview and meets Kashton. He ends up being her boss. But under certain circumstances she ends up staying in an apartment about his garage. This is a short holiday read. With workplace romance. Playboy and a good girl.
BOOK REVIEW Mistletoe Wishes By Sasha Marshall Four Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟
okay that prologue was super cute and funny! I love town gossips like those three in the beginning. Oh my gosh then Matilda and Stella going to get Kash and walking in on him being naked! Matilda is so funny! Kash and Stella's banter and back and forth is so fun to read. Damn that offer he gave her is crazy but sweet. Ohhh i love the decorating together. Holy crap.... poor Stella. But i still love Matilda and now cricket. Awww what they both used their mistletoe Wishes on! Oh my gosh! They way he used something from when they bonded for her Christmas gift!!!! I loved that!
Mistletoe Creek, Tennessee is the fictional setting of a multi-author romance series with a modern fairy tale feel. Sasha Marshall's novella, Mistletoe Wishes, with it's quirky cast of characters, fits right into this small town vibe. The story begins with possibly the craziest, most memorable 'meet cute' of any book I've read in years. Kashton 'Kash' Saint appears to be no saint at all, taking his 'after hours' activities a little too far as his new personal assistant, Stella Black, quickly discovers. She experienced more of this gorgeous man than she could have ever bargained for from the first moment they laid eyes on each other.
Stella's plan is to fade into the background while hoping the past she's running from doesn't catch up with her and Mistletoe Creek seemed like the perfect place to do just that. Her new job as a paralegal assisting Kash in his law practice will be a big challenge....that man has proven himself to be quite a handful. A hot, distracting one, but Stella can handle whatever he dishes out.
Kash and Stella are two broken, lonely souls who, despite first impressions, are quickly drawn into each others lives. It's easy to feel their attraction brewing, hoping they'll give into those feelings and allow something warm and wonderful to happen between them. Will they take a chance on love? I had my fingers crossed for that wish to come true.
This story has a perfect blend of hot, sexy sweet and magical, with enough Christmas spirit to warm even the coldest of hearts. Sasha Marshall's addition to the Mistletoe Creek series may be a quick read, but she sure packed an amazing amount of emotion, passion and amusement into this little tale.
I cracked up so many times, enjoying the witty banter between Kash, Stella and everyone else that pops up in this nosy little town. This author's signature sense of humor shines brightly in this flirty workplace romance with a few extra twists to keep you on your toes. Kash and Stella might suggest indulging in a delicious cup of hot chocolate as you curl up in your favorite reading spot while reading how their love story began. Mistletoe Wishes is the kind of book that'll pull at your hearstrings, leaving you with a smile and a warm feeling long after the last page is turned.
Super cute holiday novella! It’s a quick read where a more than memorable first impression and a fluke accident lead straight to happily ever after. Stella has just landed in Mistletoe Creek after leaving her ex and needs a job asap. Kash is a sexy lawyer and notorious playboy who desperately needs help at his office so he can finish up the case he’s working on. But their first meeting is less than awesome, naked is not the way to meet your possible future employee, and Kash has to do a little groveling to get her to work for him. They just need to get through this case and then Stella can move on and Kash can go back to his old life. Shouldn’t be too hard to not kill each other or sleep together for two weeks, right? A fun quick Christmas romance that I enjoyed reading. Kash is something else and Stella is his opposite, but the sparks definitely fly. It’s a great blend of humor, heart, and need, and they both deserved their HEA. Perfect for that last minute Christmas romance that gives off dirty Hallmark vibes.
What to expect: Small town hallmark vibes only darker Workplace romance Christmas novella Pinocchio retelling
Mistletoe Wishes is part of the Mistletoe Creek series. This one takes us back to Pinocchio with the wish upon a star. Kash and Stella both have very tough pasts and those have shaped them very differently. Stella watches Hallmark movies in hopes her life will some day resemble those who get their happily ever after. Kash on the other hand had allowed substance abuse and women to numb his pain. The two meet while Stella is on the run from her ex and gets a job from Kash. There are plenty of triggers so check them out before reading if you have any major ones! Sasha tends to write about harder topics and keeps to her style while writing a happy Christmas story!
Stella is running away from an abusive relationship and ends up in Mistletoe creek, desperate for money she applies for a job as a paralegal/ assistant for Kash and he’s not what she’s expecting at all! To say their first meet was an eye opener is an understatement! At first read I thought this would lead to a very different story but as the story progressed I realised they are both coping from traumas in their own way and first impressions are not always the right one. Kash slowly redeemed himself and became the person she needed and one he always wanted to be. Although a touch dark, this was a heartwarming, sweet with a little drama, little spice love story. Two great likeable but slightly damaged characters, a kickass Matilda ( Kash’s previous assistant) and a beautiful hea. My first book by this author but not my last for sure.
Mistletoe Wishes by Sasha Marshall is such a charming holiday escape! From the first quirky and humorous meeting between Stella and Kashton, I was hooked. The small-town vibes of Mistletoe Creek, Tennessee, feel so cozy, and the witty banter between the characters brought so much life and fun to the story. It’s the perfect mix of sweet and sassy—just what I needed for a holiday read.
This novella gave me all the warm, festive feels without dragging on. The characters are lovable, the romance is swoon-worthy, and at just over 100 pages, it’s the perfect size for curling up with a cup of hot cocoa. If you’re looking for something light, fun, and heartwarming to put you in the holiday spirit, this is the one! I can’t wait to see what Sasha Marshall writes next!
A holiday novella that kicks off with Stella and Kash's wild first encounter sets the stage for a mix of lighter and darker vibes. Their chemistry is like magnets – they just can't stay away from each other. Little did they know, they'd end up being each other's unexpected healers, fixing more than they bargained for.
Stella works her magic on Kash, nudging him to be a better version of himself. Meanwhile, Kash manages to crack Stella's trust issues wide open. The events leading up to the ending aren't all warm and fuzzy, but they're the necessary twists to tie up Stella's story.
It's not your typical holiday cheer, but that's what makes this novella stand out. Stella and Kash's journey is a rollercoaster of ups and downs, proving that even in the midst of holiday chaos, you can find unexpected moments of growth and connection.
I actually really liked this book! It felt like I was watching a Hallmark Christmas movie. Definitely had the tear jerking happy ending. Kash and Stella definitely didn't have that meet cute with great first impressions. Their "meet cute" had me absolutely cackling and cringing at the same time, it was hilarious. You could really see the authors sense of humor and I absolutely loved that. If you're looking for a feel good, funny, with a dash of recovering from past trauma, this one's for you. Stella is on the run from an abusive ex boyfriend and lands herself in Mistletoe Creek interviewing for a job. What she doesn't expect is meeting her new boss, naked and hungover. Honestly, I was sucked in from the very first chapter. I definitely recommend this one!
On the run and hiding from a past that is still haunting her, Stella ends up in Mistletoe Creek trying to start over. To say her first day of work was awful would be an understatement because her boss, Kash really shows his behind, literally. Stella recognizes how attractive he is and how there seems to be some sort of chemistry between them, but she isn’t impressed with his laid back playboy attitude. While the story at times has a lot going on that it would make you question things, it’s the emotions of Kash turning his life around and Stella bringing the best out in him that steals the show making you fall in love. For a short story I enjoyed it throughly and only wish we had more time with Kash and Stella.
This is a cute but slightly dark holiday novella that has both Stella and Kash fighting through the memories of past abuse and loss to find romance in an unexpected place.
Stella is hiding out in Mistletoe Creek from an abusive past and Kash is desperate to replace his just-retired admin. But these two don't meet under the best first impression and Stella has no desire to ever see Kash again much less work with for him. These two have similar pasts that somewhat bond them together and they will need to trust that bond when Stella's past interferes with her future.
This is one book you can definitely say that the characters did not have a meet cute. It was a meet what the heck is going on, is this man really meant to be the hero of this book?! I very nearly didn't read any further. Whilst thankfully Kash did a complete turn around in character and behaviour in the blink of an eye, and I appreciate Stella's plight, the book as a whole did not feel very cohesive and was actually quite confused. I get that romance novels/novellas are often simple escapism, I enjoy some realism! Sorry, but another disappointment for me in this series which did actually contain a few standouts.
This is a quick read. This story is more than just romance. It has a good storyline. However, the spice is lighter as nothing happens between Kash and Stella for most of the story until close to the end. Mistletoe Wishes is a sweet, holiday read.
Talk about a memorable first meet between Kash and Stella. It is always awkward to see someone in the nude but especially when they are your new boss. Kash, I did like right away, but Stella took a bit longer to warm up to. Yet, when I learned her story, I understood her better. While I did like these two, I have to admit that my favorite is Kash's former assistant, Matilda and her pit bull, Cricket.
This is my first read by this author, and I really enjoyed it. It is a Christmas Novella, so a quick read.. This read gives off those Hallmark vibes and the banter is good. Stella and Kash are opposites. Stella on the run from an abusive relationship and Kash, the sexy playboy lawyer who puts a lot of his times in substances and women.
Stella, new to the town, needs a job after leaving in a rush and only having so much. She interviews and is offered a job in quick time as she is replacing someone close to Kash who has been wanting to retire for quite some time. These leaves the not so amusing meet between Stella and Kash.
After their awkward and funny first meet, Kash is desperate to get Stella to change her mind and give him another chance. He knows she’s running from something (or someone) and he’s fighting some demons, himself.
Kash’s turnaround was sweet and heartfelt. He may have never been the person before, but he noticed Stella. He paid attention. And wanted to know more. Their HEA made it that much sweeter.
If you’re looking for a holiday hallmark vibe quick read, this is for you.
An edgier Hallmark movie on the pages of a book, we find Stella looking for a fresh start and Kash needing someone to help him get his life back on track. Stella’s on the run from an abusive ex and Kash needs to stop partying and acting like King Ding A Ling. After a series of unfortunate little accidents, the two of them find a working rhythm. And the heart pounding ending and the flood of tears that round out this slow burn holiday romance is nothing to scoff at. This book has some dark themes while also having an incredible ending.
This did not go at all how I thought it would… it was so much better and absolutely adorable 🥰 I loved the characters and the way they built their relationship even with everything that happened to each of them within in their life time. It was more romantic than spice which I had no qualms about. Story was nearly perfect. I really wished there was a more deep dive between the characters and working some of it out with each other, while also having more in depth conversations. Still highly recommended
Stella is on the run for an abusive relationship. She lands a job as a paralegal/assistant for Kash. Kash is something else to say the least. Their initial meeting is one for the books! Stella and Kash together do not initially hit it off but they are able to eventually able to get things right. This novella left me crying-laughing at different times. In all honesty, this is my first read by this author. I enjoyed it so much though, I will become a stalker! I am voluntarily leaving this review.
Kash does not make a good impression to his potential new assistant, the opposite of a meet cute really. I didn't recognise the original fairytale until 'a real boy' was mentioned towards the end. A LOT happens in a very short time, so much that it felt like a carry on movie & a lot of childhood & recent trauma is covered. This wasn't a happy, hallmark, holiday read i expected but it gets there in the end with a hfn. Is it wrong to say Cricket was my favourite character, followed closely by Matty?
This was a great Christmas novella with Stella in hiding in Mistletoe Creek from an abusive ex and applying for an assistant job to Kashton who is one wild party boy. These two are from very different worlds and once they come together it would appear that they have nothing in common but they both make it work especially Kash who seems to tame his wild ways once Stella enters his life. A fun read that is sweet and very sexy and very entertaining.
I received an arc copy from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Awesome little novella with great banter, lots of laughs, precious moments and lost souls come together. Centered in the small town of Mistletoe Creek, Tennessee, where King Ding A Ling resides, everyone knows your business and unexpected love is in the air. Come read Kash and Stella’s story. :take aways: “Are you feeling me up while I’m injured and vulnerable?” “No, Bunny.” “He wants her to have the key to his heart because she’s never had a home.” “Need a condom. Look in the drawer under the knives in the kitchen.”
This was a really cute and heartfelt novella. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and want more from Stella and Kash.
Kash had a lot of maturing to do in this book and he definitely did. I loved his character by the end and i really liked Stella’s strong and fierce personality. My heart ached for her past and traumas, but I really liked how their story played out. It’s a HFN, but I want an extended epilogue of these two 😊
Whew what a journey! There is a lot packed into the short novel. (Maybe too much) drug use, vomit, broken legs, choking, blackmail, hallmark movies. Literally everything, in the span of one week. I really loved the writing. I can’t wait to see what Sasha Marshall does in a long story. The characters were fun and the dialogue snappy. Fun Xmas weekend read. But the convergence of everything at the same time, makes it a little silly. (I received an ARC)
Mistletoe Wishes is the 10th and final book in the multi-author series, Mistletoe Creek. Books are all stand alone.
Stella and Kash are total opposites, but we know how opposites attract. Stella just needs a place to hide out from her abusive ex, not a relationship. Kash doesn't do relationships, but he sure needs Stella's help. Kash turns into Stella's savior and there is your HEA!!
I love Sasha Marshall's writing style and her wit. This book was a joy to read!
This book is hilarious, I laughed so hard. The banter between Kash and Stella is so good and their chemistry is off the charts. She comes to mistletoe to escape an abusive relationship while Kash refuses to have a serious relationship. I do have to say Matilda is my favorite character out of the whole book. She is a sassy and bad mamajama, who doesn’t play around.
Kash may be an attorney, but his life is a mess. Stella is on the run from her ex, but she needs a job and Kash needs the help. Can she put up his antics or will he drive her away and back into danger? A perfect addition to the Mistletoe Creek series. Check trigger warnings as there is DV mentioned.
What a wonderful and sweet Christmas book! Kash and Stella's first meeting didn't go well, but their story turned out so beautifully! Stella and Kash came from bad backgrounds, but they are great together. I loved these two and were rooting for them to get together from the beginning! Definitely a must read!
