Limited by Paid Software, Yet Valuable for Undergraduates
The book offers a simplistic approach suitable for undergraduate introductory classes for exercise science majors and those interested in data analysis. However, the use of paid versions of SPSS and ChatGPT presents an obstacle for students who may not have the means to purchase these licenses or attend universities that do not provide access to such software. It would have been more beneficial for undergraduates to learn how to use free statistical software and AI for data analysis. The integration of ChatGPT with data analysis in SPSS is a powerful combination that allows for more streamlined research processes. By harnessing the power of AI, researchers can draw insights faster, making the research process significantly more efficient. However, the use of paid versions of SPSS and ChatGPT may limit accessibility for students and researchers who do not have the resources to obtain these licenses. Additionally, while AI was used as an analytical tool, I would have preferred it to be presented as an assistant for interpreting and properly presenting the outcomes of statistical analysis. The book's approach to integrating AI with traditional statistical analysis is commendable and I would expect the 3rd edition to address the same topic using free to use tools!
