The last time I got sucked into a Pack was with Quinn Loftis and her Grey Wolves series. This series doesn't have as many main characters as it is mainly around Darcy and Mason but WOW, that does not mean that it is lacking in any way. I loved the relationship between Darcy and Mason but also the relationships of the others, Daniel, Devlin, Jasmine, Vivien and yes, even poor confused Vlad :D Belinda is not afraid of her characters facing situations within minutes of you starting the book either.
Each book is a story in itself that follows the story arc throughout. Apparently the first book was once 3 separate novellas but I never noticed any connections as it seemed to flow seamlessly from one to another.
Just a quick mention about Darcy herself. As the main female, she has a lot to live up to or to answer for. Sometimes the mf can be a bit too pathetic or is confident enough on her own. For Darcy, although she is a werewolf, she is actually one of the most 'human' mf's that I have read. She has her doubts and she will do what she thinks is the right thing to do. She will go toe-to-toe with Mason if she is fighting for something that she believes in BUT she also has a major dollop of common sense and will not argue just for the sake of it. She is surrounded by Alpha Males of one description (werewolf) or another (vampire) who are all determined that she remain protected. Insofar as she understands why they are doing what they are doing, she will only allow it on her terms. I have enjoyed every moment of 'being' Darcy as I read her story and there were just too many points for me to comment on.
The Alpha Males all deserve a page at least dedicated to them but I am going to comment on one who wants to be an Alpha but is too confused over too many things to succeed right now. I'm talking about Vlad - the vampire who doesn't know who he is. He is young enough that he still doesn't fit inside his own body but it makes a refreshing change to read about a vampire who is insecure and will try out different costumes/attitudes to help discover himself. Throughout the books, he is Lestat, Edward Cullen and one of the Black Dagger Brotherhood!!! Brilliant!
Overall a fantastic Pack and a story to drag you in. You will find yourself rooting for Darcy and Mason and hoping that love can indeed overcome all obstacles.
WARNING! - one warning though, if you do not like cliff hanger endings then wait until all books have been released as each one comes to a heart-stopping end.
Book 1: This series has been on my tbr pile for awhile. Now there's enough of them out to keep me busy for a week =) I never read the book blurb on the back of the cover, and base it based on the title, the author and the cover. I thought this series would be a little less PG13. The characters seem to be teenagers, and waiting for their mating. Which isnt far off so I think the tides could change in my favor soon. The story line is fast paced, we follow a pack of wolves through some arguments and slight battles with vampires. (I know it seems alot like twilight young kids, wolves, vampires even has a few references to twlight) I will continue to compare the two based on those facts, hopefully we take a majorly different leap! Book 2: This is the second book of the series, it does need to be read it order for a complete understanding. This book takes a faster pace. The alpha and his soon to be bride are thrown for a loop when his ex shows up and bring a lot of trouble behind her. I fell into this book a lot faster than the first, it had more twists and turns as well as added depth to the characters. Spoiler- you knew why she was having these pains, it's not hard to figure out it was the new shiny ring, that part did seem a little longer than needed. I am also intrigued by the relationship she has with her vampire friend. Could this turn into a love triangle? Book 3: Wow, this book really kicked the series up a notch. Darcy and Mason are still waiting on their wedding day, and you know the crazy ex is still around. In this installment Darcy and Mason are put through the ringer to prove their love is genuine. This book is action packed, leaving you flipping through the pages like a crazed woman (or at least it did me). Book three is the best in the series so far without a doubt. The author did a great job pulling you into the story and making sure you become attached to the characters. Your left with quite the cliffhanger, glad I waited until there were quite a few more in the series. Then we skip to 4.5, why wasn't book 4 included??? Book 4.5 this is a quick read that could be read before part 4, even 3. It's little snippets from each characters childhood. followed by a few recipes from the authors friends. cute read, you learn a few details, not many.
Ok where to begin. I began reading this series and loved the first book immensely. I really liked how Mason was a very dominant alpha male without even going all the way. Today we have so many erotica books out there and don't get me wrong I love those too but it was refreshing to read a book that wasn't just about sex. That being said the second book was also good the intense sexual intimacy was great. Now the third book was not so good. I found myself skimming the whole book jumping ahead just to finish it. I hope book four will be better. I didn't even read the novella in the box set. I did enjoy what happened to Amber though but don't want this to be a spoiler, so ending this I give book one and two five stars and the third two n a half stars.
This is a great way to get the first 3 parts of this series all together for a great price. I had originally gotten just part 1 (it was free on Amazon) and had yet to start reading it, but then saw the box set with the first 3 (and having forgotten I had part 1), bought it. I am sure that if part 1 had not originally gotten lost in the mix when I first got it, that I would have gone and bought the next books in the series individually. I got pulled into the story quickly in the first part and only put the book down to work & sleep for the next 2 days. The only part of this box set I did not really enjoy was the last part which contained more "quotes" & recipes than any story. I will most certainly be picking up the rest of the books in this series!
A gifted copy was provided by for an honest review. This box set is the first three books of the series, as well as a Mystic Christmas novella. Each book is a story in itself that follows the main story of Mason and Darcy, the pack Alpha and his 'True Mate'. Each of the stories are written from Darcy's POV, and though they are considered 3 different books, they flow seamlessly from one book to the other so that it almost seems as if you are reading one really long novel. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to keep reading to see what happens to the group next.
As an avid reader of most things paranormal I Absolutely loved this set of books. They grabbed my attention and went beyond. I loved the relationships between the characters, And the devotion that held them together. I hated for the books to end. I will definitely have to read more from this Author. Thank you for the many hours of being a member of this community and the vacation from my ordinary life.
i have book 1 and I started reading the story and stopped to start a book I was waiting for. I've had it forever but the other day I said let me start it again and boy oh boy am I glad I did. i ended up buying the box set and I was so hooked I bought the others too. WELL WORTH THE READ 100%. YOU LOVE WOLVES THEN THIS SERIES IS A MUSTVHAVE! ENJOY?
personally, I think the Christmas story should have been an introductory novella. on the box set, quite a bit of redunsdy within the set that got tedious. overall good, light reading
These books are the best books that I've read so far in the series. I got lost within the book which made caused me to never to put the books down. Overall I thought these books were the best to read and I can't wait to read the next book. I would recommend these books to teenagers and above.
I loved these books so much!!! The characters all float together and you can really connect with each one on a personal level!!!! I don't think I could ever get enough of these and the characters!!!!!!
This Mystic Wolves boxed set is a series of stories involving a world of supernatural beings of werewolves, vampires, and witches with fascinating twists. Excellent read fast becoming my favorite books. S. Otto
In this box set you will meet Darcy & Mason. You will follow them as they struggle to be a couple & leaders of their pack. You will laugh, cry & just get lost in their characters. I didn't even think I'd like this series but I pushed myself to keep reading. I loved this series
This book had me on the edge of my seat wishing I could read faster. Hated to put it down. Darcy and Mason are truly good together. Didn’t like it when Mason’s sister and Darcy’s best friend died but that just made them stronger together. Loved these books.
