The Proposition #2

The Proposition 2: The Ferro Family

Rate this book
Blackmail. Sex. Ferro.

There's no doubt in my mind that Bryan Ferro is serious—if I don't sleep with him, he'll destroy me. Everything I've earned will be blown away like dust, and my life will no longer be my own. His demand for just one night rolls into days. He doesn't want me for a one-time fling, it's more than that.

But as I stand there, ready to tell him off, I hear it. The familiar sound, the hesitation, the slight hitch in his voice, and that's what forces me to my knees. It's not Neil, Maggie, or even the money—it's Bryan.

Blackmail. Sex. Ferro.

I'm not sure where Hallie and Bryan's story is going, but I smell a love triangle! I would stop but I'm way too invested in this story and I'll be damned if I stop now!

In the second installment of The Proposition, a whole bunch of dramatic stuff happens. It would have been OTT if it wasn't so damn addictive!

1. Murder -
2. Near Fatal Attacks -
3. Secrets -
4. Tortured Hero - Bryan is broody, intense and bipolar at the best of times. I like it!
5. Silly Heroine - I really liked Hallie in the first book, but now she's starting to annoy me. Neil is playing her, she knows it, but she's got some kind of self sabotaging problem because she's ignoring all her suspicions and gut feelings!!! Grrrrrrrrrrr.
6. Annoying Secondary Characters - Neil is a douche and annoying as fuck. I hate him!!!
7. Awesome Best Friend - I love Maggie! She's a fiery and fiesty red head who is protective of her best friend! And... she tells it like it is!

LIKE HELL!!!!!

Okay so this latest volume will have you on ur seat, you will laugh, like a lot, I actually got a bit emotional at some parts. At a few points ur heart with race from perhaps fear, lust, heck who knows.

You will love Maggie as much as you love Mel. I wouldn't mess with her.

Ah, u will want to smash Neil maybe in the head with a hammer lol.

Oh sweet Hallie, I feel for her man... Especially when livestock come into play...

Now I was thinking that perhaps I just might love Bryan as much as I love Sean... I wouldn't mind one for each arm.

Bryan is HOT, guarded but shows more of his cards then the other Ferro boys... His hitch in his voice, his soft kisses need I go on... Bryan is here to stay... Folks, 5 volumes just might not be enough unless he gets his own Novels... Whatever it is, keep those green eyes a coming!!!! Yummers!!!!

One thing I do want to acknowledge about the writer. This latest volume was extremely well written I literally could see it all in my head. EVERYTHING!!!

There is a reason she is a best seller and this just proves it all the more. 5 stars just doesn't seem enough...

Here's where to find out when and where the book will be available - https://www.facebook.com/AuthorHMWard This is NOT a stand-alone novel so if that's what you're looking for this is NOT the book for You. Holly has several completed novels that would better suit to your liking... This is a series comprised of 5 volumes. A new volume is released every month, faithfully. Even when she was deathly sick she still made sure they were out!!!

I hope you enjoy these as much as I do!

I seriously hate this Ferro book,

Well, not the actual Ferro as in Bryan but this book in general. This girl is completely... Stupid? Callous? An idiot? She literally lets people walk all over her!!!! Grow some balls in the next book PUHLEASE!!!!!

Geez. I just.... I LOVE HM Ward, but this series SUCKS! And I'm getting really annoyed that I keep buying these books and nothing happens.... I get no background information, no progression into the story.... It's like I have to wait until the 8th book if her series to understand any of it. I guess I'm just sick if it.

Maybe I would be in a better mood if I just don't buy them until the last of the series comes out, it's so frustrating.

ARC received from the author in exchange for an honest review.

***The proposition 2 is part of a serial series that doesn’t need to be read along with the other Ferro stories, but should.***

Ferro Series Books
The Arrangement Series (currently at 12 books) – Focus: Sean
Damaged 1 & 2 (two full length novels) – Focus Peter
Stripped (one is released, two is not yet released, full length novels) – Focus Jonathan
The Secret Life of Trystan Scott ties in to this series as well, there are 5 parts to the YA serial series with a planned future release to continue Trystan’s story.

Now although you don’t have to read these in order to follow along with Bryan’s story it is highly recommended so that you can experience the big picture since these books are crossing over like crazy.

********
Well hello there, Bryan.

Hallie and Bryan’s story continues just where we left off in book one. She’s agreed to his terms. She’ll allow him to use her body, knowing that in the end her heart will break all over again.

There is still so much that remains a mystery about these two and with every single word, I just want to know what the hell happened between them and what is going to happen next. There are parts when Bryan’s façade falls and you see this broken sweet guy and then that moment’s gone and the jerk returns.

And our poor girl, Hallie. She’s broken, but still so strong. I love that HM Ward can create these women that have had to go through so much in their lives but ensures that they always come out of it stronger than before.

These installments are addictive and completely captivating. We are left jumping from one emotion to the next as these two go hot to cold throughout the story. You just know that there is something major lurking beneath the surface, whether it is some miscommunication or someone doing something to protect the other one... but we just aren’t getting those answers yet.

We know a few things though. Neil is an asshat and Maggie is going to be one kick ass best friend.

Twisted is the best word for the latest installment of HM Ward's Proposition. We find ourselves back on the floor with defiance flaring to display our heroine's bravery which continues through the following chapters. There is a great deal of internal struggle and true anticipation that has become a staple of Ward's writing style. The book could possibly turn its own pages...seriously...if that isnt enough...we find ourselves with a lusty duck...move over Mr. Turkey there is a new beak in town! And he has a posse! If the true dirty birdy isn't enough there is a bit of olfactory kink for ya to blush over! I recommend a fan... Lovely job, Ward! PS- Someone get Mel a duck! Pronto!

1 out 5 Stars for this frustrating nonsense

Hallie used to date Bryan Ferro back in the days, but then she broke up with him. Then her father died, and her "picture-perfect-i'll-do-you-no-harm-and-like-my-sex-vanilla" boyfriend Neil helps her cope with the loss... And she also copes by publishing a book around her steamy sexual encounters with Bryan. But as soon as she hits the famous-status, Bryan comes back into her life with blackmail: he wants her at his sexual disposal whenever he calls for it, or else he'll reveal the world Hallie's book is about him.

Well... H.M. Ward has done it again . Again, the Proposition will be one of her endless mini-series where each part costs you $4 and doesn't last you more than 20 minutes each. Except that The Proposition, contrary to The Arrangement, is going to be a total flop for me!`

For one, the storyline and pace is total BS in my opinion: so out of the blue, Bryan barges into Hallie's life with his proposal, and the reader is totally in the dark as to what his motives are. Oh, and Hallie willingly agrees to the whole thing as if she needed/had to because she feels like she owes it to him. Yeah, obviously Bryan is mad at her for some reason unknown to the reader and to Hallie herself…

Both main characters are totally messed up and go from hot to cold and from on to off in a matter of a few lines: Hallie is willing to accept his proposal, but on the other hand she is not. She finds him disgusting, but on the other hand, she can’t help but feel attracted to Bryan. Duh.

And what about the crazy pace of the book? I made a total U-turn as I went from reading Saving Quinton, which had a very slow pace (and nothing happened), to reading The Proposition 2, where everything just happens at a super rapid pace. In less than 12 hours, indecent proposals are made, people are being mugged, stabbed in the head with a shoe and then stabbed by a knife, killed in front of a window and bitten by ducks. But then again, not even a reasonable timeframe would make that storyline believeable.

To me, this book is a total failure .

I doubt I will be picking up the sequel.

Oh my!

I don't really know where to start, Bryan is dark and cruel, but you don't know if you should hate him or love him! I choose to do a little of both! Hallie is sweet and down on her luck, she and Bryan have so much history and sexual chemistry that at times it fells like things might catch fire! I was laughing at times and others I was saying "Oh My God" HM Ward never disappoints, and this was yet another reason why! She gives so much and yet leaves you hanging to make sure you want to come back for more!!!!!

Sigh,.....I'm a little over the short story serial of this. There was a part that really grabbed my attention and I thought things were going to really get good, but I'm starting to think the author is just dragging things out to make the 2.99 a pop. I'm serious I'm at the end of book 2 in a series about a guy blackmailing a girl for sex to keep his mouth shut, and they still haven't even had sex......

Sorry to be so blunt, I usually don't write bad reviews, but I honestly feel like I'm being strung a long.

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I loved this book and I am even more in love with Bryan then I was after the first book in this series. I cannot stand Neil, he is so smug, and fake, and I loved the surprise they got in the kitchen, just perfect and I could so see Sean doing the exact same thing, they are alot alike. The whole thing with her friend Maggie is strange, I think to myself geez do all of the girlfriends and/or friends of the Ferro men have some kind of connection to shady people in the sex business? I also thought it was strange that Hallie did not know where her best friend lived, what she never went to her house??? I am sure we will find out what that is all about soon enough. I loved the scene at Friendly's restaurant, oh my gosh and then the duck, what is up with the woodland animals and wanting the Ferro woman, weird connections all around. I can't wait to find out what in the world happened to Hallie and Bryan all of those years ago, why is Jon so angry, and if she loved him so much why are they no longer together? This is exciting and nerve racking at the same time wondering and waiting. I loved the sex scene, so hot. When she mentioned about something she noticed when Bryan was sleeping I got a sick feeling in my stomach, I hope where my thoughts are going is wrong. The only negative if it is really that is I hate how either weak or stupid Hallie acts around Neil, not sure which it is but who comes home, takes care of business blindly (don't want to give too much away)and worse yet why doesn't she stand up for herself and cut Neil off when once again he makes a big decision about her life for her, not asking her what she wants, and earlier all she could talk about was how worried she was for Maggie and how much she needed certain things to set her and Maggie free and now he has once again taken over and she does nothing to stop it, then the slimy, transparent action Neil does at the end, really, man I hope she sees right through that, but she is different around him. Once again the author has me on the edge of my seat, having me wanting to yell, cry, and swoon the whole way through her book, I just love it, can't get enough.

What can I say...AMAZING!!!
For it being part 2 of a 5 part series, it left me speechless!
HM Ward has written some twists and turns that will leave the reader thinking there are going to be many different ways that the story line will go. There are situations that occur which the reader won't expect and will add to the despair that some of the characters continually endure.
We see that Hallie will do anything to help and protect herself and those around her, no matter the cost. Bryan, on the other hand, is so messed up and wrapped up in blackmailing Hallie, that it's hard to either love him, hate him or both at the same time. What he says and his actions make it hard to figure out what he will come up with next. He can definitely be cold one minute and steaming HOT the next!
Loved to see a cross-over in this book when we see Jon Ferro appear and Trystan Scott being mentioned. True to HM Ward's writing, the book left us with a cliffhanger that was totally unexpected and with many questions as to why things are happening the way they are.
p.s. Ward's comical love of animals has brought a new one to the mix! Mr. Turkey and the squirrel sure have some competition now =)

I just received and read an ARC of the Proposition 2. As with all of her books, HM Ward does not disappoint. Proposition 2 generated lots of questions to be answered.... What is up with Bryan? He is hiding some deep pain. Bryan is definitely conflicted when it comes to his feelings for Hallie. Will Hallie be able to "fix" him? What has Hallie's best friend Maggie gotten herself into? I can't wait for Proposition 3 to be released so I can get these questions answered as well as the big question at the end of the book. I have a feeling that the excitement and drama have only just begun!

I my I cannot get enough of Bryan and Hallie's story, but then again who can ever get enough of the Ferro boys. I am hoping that everything works out and they can both get past the demons of their past and forgive one another for the hurt they have caused each other in the past. Dump Neil Hallie and get on with life with Bryan Ferro! I cannot wait to read the next book in line about Hallie and Bryan! Keep up the hot and steamy love story H.M. Ward looking forward to the next book! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC!

Holy Propositions! Yes yes I know this review is late especially since I read this book the second it was uploaded on amazon.

Okay first off my favorite part of this story with Hallie and Bryan was the date in the park! Oh my goodness I loved it loved it loved it. Ducky!!!

There is so much to say but I don’t want to give anything away! Oh the frustration!!!

Part two takes place right where part one ends. Hallie walks right out of Bryans’ room and into well more danger. Getting saved by someone unlikely she gets into her best friend’s car and goes to a dangerous part of the city where her best friend lives. Dangerous doesn’t even begin to cover what’s going on where her best friend lives and Hallie wakes Maggie up and hightails it out of there.

Getting back to her house she walks in and Bryan is there and tells her ass hat boyfriend what’s what and leaves with Hallie taking her on a date and then back to his place. Bryan has secrets too and Hallie only has a little bit of time to save her friend before what she saw gets her killed.

Ugh that freaking ending! So mad!!! I hate hate hate her boyfriend. Such a douche bag who deserves to be kicked. Suck it Neil!!!

Bryan is really likeable. I have to say he definitely has a sensitive side that Hallie brings out. Not saying he doesn’t have a dangerous side because he definitely does and you will see it in the first couple pages just how dangerous he is.

I love how Hallie is around Bryan rather than with her jerk of an ex-boyfriend. She’s strong and more passionate with him and I really enjoy her when she’s around Bryan and even her best friend Maggie

Speaking of Maggie holy crap I can tell danger and secrets are brewing and I honestly can’t wait for the next installment.

Keep up the good work Holly!

Favorite Quote from my favorite scene:
“I got attacked by a duck.” I sound shocked.
“No babe, a duck tried to make out with your ankle. I’ll have to try that later.”

Oh my.....
Part two of this Ferro family saga leaves the reader breathless...and dare I say....slightly, ahem...hot and bothered!

Ward does not disappoint!
Hallie is one tough cookie no matter who crosses her, with one exception...Bryan Ferro. In the first book the reader can't help but find his character a bit stuffy, maybe pretentious, absolutely a hot headed jerk, but no doubt sexy, controlling, and mysterious. In part two, Bryan shows his cockiness and arrogance, but also the reader gets to see his humility, his need for Hallie, that he's a broken man.
Hallie is determined to find out why he's so angry with her. It seems like they are both missing some reasoning behind their breakup, that they are are blaming each other, but they have the why factor on both sides. They still can't resist one another no matter how hard they try.

This book leaves so many questions and leaves the reader wanting more. What is going on in that beautiful head of his? What kind of trouble is Bryan in, and for that matter Hallie too? What the hell is going on with Maggie? Why is Neil so easy about letting Hallie be with another man? Will love prevail in the end, or is this just one big mind $@%# for the reader?

Note: I was provided an ARC for an honest review

I CAN NOT get enough of the Ferro Brothers. They are all super sexy, with that dark intrigue that hides a truly soft and kind heart. This installment of Bryan did NOT disappoint. After each book (despite which brother it is about), that Ferro brother becomes my favorite. I am so glad I don't have to choose in person because I don't think I could.

I love Hallie and Maggie as best friends. And I am dying for more of Maggie's story and the drama that unfolded around her in this book. I can feel the goodness of Bryan dying to come out, but like the other Ferro's, there is so much pain that it's hidden.

My favorite thing about these books is that Ward builds the story until you are on the end of your seat, then bang, you go to turn the page and it's the last one! I love that she teases us and leaves us wanting more. I can't wait to see what unfolds for Bryan, Hallie, Maggie, and Neil (although I hope he's left high and dry since I don't like him at all)!

Bring on The Proposition 3!!

The second installment had drama right from the start and I was completely pulled in. Bryan and Hallie have such an intense connection and a lot of animosity but also a big pull on one another. I am really, REALLY liking Bryan and am totally into the internal battle he’s fighting. Bryan is so sexy, hard, and sweet all mixed into one. I like Hallie too, she’s had such a hard life and I love that she keeps fighting no matter what the circumstance.

I really loved getting to know more about Maggie. That's an intriguing side story in the making. I still don't like Neil and yelled NO at the end of the book. That guy makes me seriously uncomfortable. I still have so many questions about Bryan and can't wait for book three. I am completely hooked. And hello Jon! Nice to see you again.

This had drama, sweetness, intensity and just the right mix of hotness too. The end – whew! I seriously love the Ferro boys. ;-)

Im upset as soon as the book gets good its over. Im not trusting Celicy and Neil they probably gonna take Hallie money she shouldve looked at that contract. How can Neil take care of her when she said he barely had money for his self in book one. He probably said he the manager and getting a cut already. Then he got a lot of nerve trying to marry her now. I want to know what happen to Bryan is it that he cant sleep because Hallie left him nobody is telling her anything. I cant wait for the next book its moving better then the arrangement series i can tell you that much.

What was that?

Still confusing. Do I have to read The Arrangement first before reading this series? Because I don't understand what's going on between Bryan and Hallie.

Not to mention Hallie's jumping around from hating Bryan but then in a blink of an eye starts mumbling that she loved him. Strange. And the situation is exactly the same from Bryan's side.

Not sure if I want to continue this series..

**SIGH** And Not in a Good Way

I can't stand Hallie. She's weak and stupid...not because of Bryan's proposition (read: blackmail), but because of Neil.

Neil is an uptight prude (can men be called prudes?) who only sees Hallie as a walking dollar sign. When he first hears about the book she wrote, he berates her. When people start talking about book deals and movie rights, he's suddenly proud of her?

That's not the worst of it...the worst is actually in the first book, when Hallie tells Neil that Bryan is blackmailing her for sex. THIS A$$WIPE TELLS HER TO DO IT SO THAT HER BOOK DEALS DON'T GET RUINED...HE TELLS HER TO "DO WHAT'S BEST FOR US.". Sorry for the yelling...but that p*ssed me off. Neil was an OK boyfriend before that and he bought the burial plot for her father because she couldn't afford it. He wasn't taking care of her financially, but he's going to insert himself into her fortune?? GTFOH! And she's too stupid to see what he's doing and/or be angry about it. Neil waits until she signs the book deal to propose. Why do you think that is?

The only things I liked about this book were Maggie, Hallie's best friend, and Bryan. Maggie is involved in something unsavory... something so dangerous, she can't tell Hallie about it, but Hallie has already seen more than she should have.

And something is wrong with Bryan. There was more to his breakup with Hallie than we're told so far. Something drastic had to have happened for Bryan's entire family to hate her... I can't even hazard a guess as to what.

But because I want to know what happens to Maggie and Bryan, I will read on

I read a couple of other reviews and I seem to have a different take on the Hallie/Bryan growing situation. After reading the second installment and perhaps because of it, I think Bryan is mostly bluster. I don't think he ever intended or intends to blackmail her, I think he just wants her back in his arms and in his bed. It appears that none of the other Ferros like her. Cousin Johnathon makes that very clear, but sells her a $60,o00 car for $10,000. Bryan appears to have considerable stress of some unknown variety. Relaxing on the back lawn of the museum. The comedy relief that gets Hallie
to jump into Bryan's lap for protection. He doesn't seem to mind a bit, and neither does she.

Having Hallie lying next to him in his room, seems to finally allow Bryan to sleep soundly. This is a hell of love story. On to book 3.

Four "really liked it" stars

Still going strong! This series strikes me as more of one long book that got broken up, but I don't even care. It's in Kindle Unlimited, and is also reasonably priced, so bring on the instant gratification of being able to finish a "book" or more in one day! My reading challenge for the year could use the book count boost, to be honest.

More intrigue in this one as further secrets are revealed, and another threat emerges. Will Hallie tell Neil to stuff it? Will she tell Bryan to stuff it? Will she manage to hold on to her deal?

And why did she and Bryan break up all those years ago, anyway?

Forging on to find out!

I dont' even know what to make of this. I want the story already. That sound mean. I know this is a 5 book novella series so by the end of this novella we will be heading into the meat of the story or the middle really. But so far I'm not quite sure what is going on. It is funny that all of these books are about the Ferro's and yet none of the Ferro men are the narrorators of these books. We have no clue what is going on in their heads. And what was up with the little Jon cameo. I can't wait to find out what all this is about. Book 3 here I come.

The story just keeps getting better and I can't believe all of the things that in just 64 pages.

In part two it is evident that Bryan is having mixed emotions regarding Hallie. It's as if he loves this woman but he is hurt by the book thinking she never really felt the same about him and is using that against her. There were times where Bryan put out an olive branch and instead of telling him the truth she didn't want to discuss it or played the typical girl of avoiding the truth. I wanted to shake her because as they say the truth can set you free and I think the games that are going on would subside if she would just be open.

As for Neil, he is definitely up to no good. I just don't understand this character. If they were only together for a short time his devious ways would make sense but for someone that has been with Hallie for a few year's the underlining schemes and ulterior motives make no sense, minus the cliffhanger ending to get the money. We all know the agent and Neil have a hidden scheme going on, but my fear is the two are splitting all the money and Hallie gets nothing.

Onto Maggie. OMG I just want to save her. I am so fearful of her future and what the secrets she holds. Why is she bringing people home for her neighbor, what else does she do for him. I can't believe Hallie held off rescuing her for Bryan. Another situation she should have divulged to him. I am not sure if anyone caught it though, but Jonathan makes an appearance and tells Hallie to leave his car to be stolen since she lives in a bad part of town. Interesting when she only went to Maggie's once so how would he know that.

Overall I wanted to shake sense into Hallie about Bryan, Neil, Maggie and even when talking to Jonathan or because she did not read the contract, for all she knows it could say she gets $2.00 instead of 2 million. For a street smart girl she lacks a lot of survival skills. I can't wait for part 3, because there are so many unknowns and a million things can go wrong. I just hope poor Maggie is ok.
