Mr. Forgetful is not at all good at remembering things, so it is hardly surprising that this Christmas he has forgotten to buy a tree. Christmas with no tree! Where will Father Christmas leave the presents? And so begins a very funny and forgetful tale of Christmas trees, presents, snow and a plump, jolly man who might just be able to save the day...
Adam Hargreaves is an English author and illustrator. The son of Roger Hargreaves, he continues his father's popular Mr. Men series of children's books. Hargreaves also served as inspiration for the series. When at the age of six he asked his father "What does a tickle look like?", Roger used that question to create the first book, Mr. Tickle.
I have generally found the Mr Men illustrations to be preferable to the text, and this is no exception. I particularly enjoyed the trees bought by each of the characters (and sincerely hope Mr Forgetful had permission to attempt to remove a tree from the forest!). The use of ‘and’ to begin sentences is jarring but I am of a certain age and it will no doubt bother younger readers less.
I liked that they named everyone like Mr. Forgetful, Mr. Mean, Miss Late, etc. It was very cool. And that Santa Claus gave him a Christmas tree. That was very nice of him.
Mr Forgetful forgot to get himself a Christmas tree and there were none left to buy. Off into the forest he went looking for the perfect one. Did Mr Forgetful find a tree? Well you’ll have to read this delightful gem to find out! Mr Men books are not just for children
It's Christmas Eve, and Mr. Forgetful realizes that he forgot to buy a Christmas tree, so he sets off into the forest in search of one. But when he finds one, he discovers that he forgot to bring his saw. Then he forgets the way home. Luckily, Santa comes to the rescue and delivers him safely to his house along with his Christmas present.
This is my favorite of the Mr. Men & Little Miss Christmas stories. It's delightfully silly.
I'm quite biased when it comes to Mr Men books because I grew up on them and love them a great deal! This is the story of how Mr Forgetful forgets to get a tree for Christmas and so sets of on an adventure to procure one. Of course, absent-minded hilarity ensues, but it all works out in the end,
Nice bit of 4th wall breaking that made me chuckle too. The kids enjoyed it too, which is always a bonus. :)
A fun Christmas themed Mr Men book. In this story, several characters are mentioned and shown with their relevant Christmas trees. Then it focuses on Mr forgetful who forgot to get a tree in time. He has a forgetful adventure to try and find a tree but is rescued by the star if Christmas. Fun, gentle, exciting and enjoyable!
Day 10 of my Mr Men and Little Miss Advent Calendar is..........
......... The Christmas Tree! This book is definitely 5*. Poor Mr Forgetful! He forgot to buy his Christmas Tree but luckily help is at hand🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐 I'd never read this book before today and i loved that it had a different character taking centre stage. I'm going to have to re-read Mr Forgetful at some point!
