Key features of the Logbook
• Overlapping skill-based competencies have been translated into activities to be performed by the learner. Preceding each activity, the learning aids have been incorporated to facilitate learning of an activity. Facilitators are required to provide necessary learning aids to the learner. Reference for learning aids have been given, which the facilitators can use.
• The activities and components of an activity (tasks) to be performed by the learner are organized around a key/core competency with necessary learning aids to an activity. The faculty of community medicine must establish good relationship with district health authority as health and wellness centers (HWC), PHCs, CHCs are controlled and function under district health authority. Involve district team for teaching and training programs to the extent possible.
• At the level of health and wellness center, some activities are performed daily, some are performed on fixed days, some are weekly, fortnightly, monthly and some are on campaign basis. Household survey is updated on yearly basis. Events on birth and death are collected on regular basis. Mentor must know the schedule of community workers in order to facilitate learning.
