I absolutely love Sienna and Thirteen Candles (the first in this series) is legit one of my favorite small town romance books EVER, but this one just unfortunately didn't do it for me.
I truly struggle with really young, immature, inexperienced fmc's and that is genuinely just a ME THING. So, sadly - I just didn't mesh with Jolie.
Aside from that, this series is so fun!

Based on one review, the mmc rejected the fmc's proposition to take her v-card on her prom night. He's her brother's best friend, so he's a bit older than her. Then, 10 years later, she saved herself for him the entire time, while the mmc became a successful NHL player, got married as well, but then divorced years later.
Now that they're both back in town, they've been spending more time together. This is probably where the "It's always been you" trope will be realized by the mmc, or idk. 🤷♀️

I was ecstatic seeing this on my Kindle Tuesday. I rarely finish a book within one day with work and life; it just doesn’t happen. However, this was the book that made me do it. I read during work 🤫 and ran straight home to sit back down and pull this book out of my bag.
I enjoyed Colt’s story and loved Dash’s, but Ashton and Jolie’s story tore my heart apart, put it back together, and stole my heart. These two were absolute 🔥🔥 together.
Not only did Ashton know how to use a hockey stick 😏, but he could also lasso your heart.
If you’re looking for a small-town romance with hockey, friends to lovers, and best friend’s brother tropes. THIS IS IT!!

This one just did not do it for me and let me tell you, it breaks my heart to say that. I adore Sienna Judd and while I had hoped to love Ashton and Jolie, the immaturity and inexperience in their relationship made it really difficult for me to enjoy Bourbon Breakaway. I made it to the 60% mark and just knew it wasn't the book for me. Because I enjoyed Thirteen Candles so much, I'll continue to pick up what Sienna writes and hope that I connect more with those left in the series!

I enjoyed this book from page one to The End. Jolie knows who she wants, but her offer does not go as planned. Thirteen years later, Jolie and Ashton are back in New Mexico, and both have secrets. But the attraction is still very present. She is still off limits as the brother of his best friend, so friends it needs to be.
I love the no filter, sassy Jolie, and Ashton lets her be her. Ashton is the “Hollywood, Playboy, hockey player,” or so the tabloids think; the cowboy is a different person. I am looking forward to the next book.

This book was so emotional. It takes different views on different issues involving being a vet on a ranch and the trauma that it comes with. It was done in such a beautiful and respectful way that it opened my eyes to what a vet goes through every day. This one had a little OW drama that I liked (cause I love drama) and of course two amazing characters. The Hero and Heroine were top book material. They were amazing!!! and both are so likable. I loved this one!!! But I have to say, Ashton was hot, nice, a freak, and a best friend. But Dash will always have my heart

This is the 3rd book in Sienna’s Starlight Canyon series.
This story follows Ashton and Jolie. They were close when they were younger since Ashton is Jolie’s brother BFF. Jolie has always had feelings for him and made her move when Ashton was asked to take her to prom her senior year. Ashton turned her down as he didn’t want to betray his BFF. Fast forward 13 years they both are back in Starlight Canyon and both have been through some tough relationships. They decide to spend some time together and sparks fly from there.
I loved Ashton’s character and his strong and steady nature. Jolie is unapologetically herself, full of fire. She never backed down from a challenge and I really appreciate reading about a strong FMC.
Ashton and Jolie were really inevitable…They are each other’s perfect match. The friendship they had, then built on to become each other’s person was so beautiful.

January 22, 2024DNF- Loved the first two in the series, but couldn't get over the hero being obsessed with certain parts of the heroine's body. When 100 pages in, he still couldn't stop looking at/thinking about them, I was pulled out of the romance.

These two have history. She asks him to take her v*rginity after he takes her to prom but he turns her down and then leaves town to go play in the NHL. Now he is back in town after a nasty divorce and the attraction they have for each other is still there.

Joey is a veterinarian and is losing her "mojo" and Ashton is getting older and thinking about retirement so they both decide to take a break and end up spending all of their time together and the sparks start flying ;)

Listen y’all- I’m a Sienna Judd fan. I love her and I absolutely loved Thirteen Candles and Mustang Valley. LOVED THEM!
Unfortunately, this one just didn’t do it for me. I found it to be super cringy and immature. The fight with the ex wife gave me second hand embarrassment. I love me some spice and I’m all about some object play, but it just didn’t fit here.
I’m so bummed this one wasn’t for me, but I will be anxiously awaiting the next in the series nevertheless.

I have been eating, breathing and in every way consuming this series all 11 days of the year so far! LOL
Jolie and Ashton have been friends almost all their lives being connected by the small town ranch life and the fact that he is her brothers best friend and teammate.
Ashton is a small town boy turned Hockey player while Jolie is the small town girl who left to the big city to pursue her veterinarian studies.
The story starts off sassy and hot as hell with a young Jolie propositioning Ashton on her prom night. He refuses and they both go off into the world with feelings unsaid and secrets untold for the next 13 years. When they both end up back in their small town, they find each other and after spending time together, sparks ignite.
They both have some issues they are dealing with, Ashton has a secret that has pretty much destroyed him during a divorce, Jolie deals with some mental health issues that I personally loved how it was handled. They both have to work out their stuff while trying to stay together.
Ashton and Jolie have some pretty hot times together and let me tell you… I will not be looking at a hockey stick the same!!!

I loved the previous books in this series and didn’t think any could top Mustang Valley but Sienna has delivered another incredible instalment! I devoured this and oh my heart, it was so beautiful and full of deep feelings, secrets, emotions and a whole lot of tension and angst. Then the spice? These two were HOT together and both dirty talkers 🔥
Jolie was such an incredibly strong fmc, she didn’t back down from a challenge and I loved her quick wit and fiery personality. The growth we saw from her throughout the book was amazing and the focus on her mental health was handled so well and with care.
Ashton and Jolie were inevitably always going to end up together however they had to overcome so many challenges and as heart breaking as it was at times, it made their connection and relationship so strong. I was completely invested in their story. The friendship they had, then built on to become each others person was so beautiful.
I also really loved Ashton and Logan’s friendship. Their dynamic and banter, the way they encouraged and supported one another was amazing. I would love Logan’s story and I’m forward to seeing what comes next for this series.

Yalllll, I tried so do hard to like this one. But I DNF at about 80% 😬.
This book is so melodramatic. I can’t take these characters seriously. To me it felt like a perfect mix of the cheesiness of a hallmark movie and the heightened family drama of a soap opera. I’m not trying to yuck anyone’s yum, so if that kind of description is something you like, go for it.
I can see the appeal of this book for people… it’s a small town romance, hockey AND cowboy(!), brothers best friend, and friends to lovers. But I just didn’t do it for me.

This was such a nice little break from some of the darker romances I’ve been reading. I don’t typically go for friends to lovers but I’m glad I did with this one. Jolie and Ashton grew up together. Jolie always loved Ashton but he was her brothers best friend and years older than her. After not seeing or speaking to one another for 10 years, they both come home due to life circumstances. Jolie is an independent badass, wanting to care for those around her but neglecting her own mental health. Ashton came back after going through a divorce. They both returned home when they needed “home” the most and they found their home in each other.
This really was a sweet read and I gotta say, the chemistry between Ashton and Jolie was so good. Especially since Jolie had always loved Ashton.

This was HANDS DOWN my fav one in the series so far. I truly thought Dash from Mustang Valley would claim my heart forever but Ashton quickly stole that title. The chemistry & banter these two have is just UNMATCHED on a whole ‘notha level. I swear, it was 🔥 at all times between those two.
The hoops and challenges they had to overcome was truly worth all the emotions I had to go through in this book. The writing, as per usual, was immaculate. The depths to this story was well thought out and created.
The lead characters were to die for. Ashton, the possessive hero and Jolie, ugh… she was just unapologetically herself. Authentic to the core and she was one of my fav FMC’s throughout this series so far.

The lead characters were to die for. Ashton, the possessive hero and Jolie, ugh… she was just unapologetically herself. Authentic to the core and she was one of my fav FMC’s throughout this series so far.

Sienna what in the world did you put in this book?? Cat nip?? I was hooked from the beginning with that jaw dropping question coming form our FMC. WOW! I loved it and I loved that the beginning scene really ties into the conflict to the current story.
I know I shelved this title into Cowboy, but our real country star was Jolie as the cowgirl. I loved the amount of strength she had and also her ability to know when she needed to stop - I don't have that trait and I always admire those who can even when it's a fictional character.
Ashton was really the perfect person for Jolie and I felt for some of the drama he was dealing with in his personal life. Through the whole story I thought it was going to be something trivial, but the truth behind what he was dealing with was understandable as to why he was holding back on revealing some of it.
I honestly think this is my favorite in the series. Brother's best friend will always get me. Sienna did it again and I honestly can't wait for the next book!!

Sienna has yet to disappoint me. I was sucked into this series with Thirteen candles and fell in love with Starlight Canyon!
Pro Hockey player from a small town in the country and a true cowgirl?
Ashton and Jolie have so much history, I was honestly hooked from the starting scene.
Jolie is turned down by Ashton on her prom night and the two of them leave town on their own ventures. Her to become a veterinarian and him to the NHL and fame.
They both find their way back to their hometown after over a decade of not seeing each other. Both of them had gone through tough relationships and there is obvious chemistry from the time Ashton sees Jolie again.
I love the two of them so much. Jolie is a strong FMC, but watching her take a step back and lean on those that cared for her was so relatable and proved just how strong she is. Her growth is admirable. Ashton dealt with some pretty deep stuff, but puts those he cares for first and was just a perfect match for Jolie.
I giggled, blushed & swooned reading this book. It was such a great story!

Aaaand another hockey romance makes my five star reads list! I’m so smitten with this story of Ashton and Joey, the 3rd book in Sienna’s Starlight Canyon series.
What is it about the brother’s best friend/forbidden romance trope that gets me every time. Oh I loved this book so much! Ashton and Joey have history together from their prom, and now years later, after Ashton returns from playing in the NHL, they reconnect and their chemistry is off the charts. The spice was perfection and I’ll be thinking about Ashton and Joey for a long time.

Oh I LOVED this!!!!! I haven’t loved a fmc in a while and Joey was perfect. Everything about her was so good! Reading her made me want to be more like her. She’s so confident and sure of herself. She wears her heart on sleeve and knows what she deserves. Ashton was also a gem of a man, he wasn’t perfect but he owned up to his fuck ups. It just seems really realistic. They were both so mature and had the hard conversations. I truly just loved everything about this. Also their sexy time was SPICY!!!!!!! The extended epilogue could’ve made me cry. Thank you so much Sienna for the arc I am truly grateful!!!!

This series gets better which each book. Loved Jolie and Ashton together. Brother’s best friend, unrequited love, the prologue has the perfect setup for their story. Both of them have deep backstory that they’re working through all these years later. Both dirty talkers 🔥🤭

I loved Thirteen Candles and Mustang Valley! I am a HUGE Sienna Judd fan. Unfortunately, I didn’t love this one. Personally, the fight between the ex wife and the reason Joey got mad at Ashton was just immature for me. I am sad this wasn’t for me, but I am excited to read the next book on the series!
