“This is a hilarious and accurate summation of the state of college athletics. Jon tells a great story and makes debatable though thought-out recommendations. Well written and thought provoking.”—Mark MenchWhile Faculty Sleep was first issued in 2015 as an argument for reform of college
This tiny, pocket-sized book is intended to be the rulebook for the reform of college athletics. Tiny because there is but one No disclosure, no reform. Pocket-sized because, well, it is a rulebook. Think Robert’s Rules writ small. In purse or pocket, don’t leave home without it.
Alas, this reissue is not offered to continue the argument for academic integrity in college athletics—that issue is no one cares—but as a companion to my book, A University Life. That volume omits any reference to athletics, so Sleep acknowledges, describes, and serves as witness to the omnipresence of athletics in the academy.
