Houston Briggs is at a crossroads, facing the possible end of his career after a devastating injury. With an uncertain future ahead of him and his siblings finding their own happy endings, he’s desperately seeking peace and purpose.
Enter Darcy Paxton, his refreshing new neighbor who is nothing like the women of his past relationships. There’s a realness about her that Houston can’t resist, and she sees the man behind the athlete, bringing calm to the storm of his life.
However, complicating matters is Tamlin Park, a tenacious sports reporter known for her exposés on athletes’ lives. Despite the threat she poses to his already shaky career, Houston can’t deny the chemistry between them, and she surprises him at every turn with her intelligence and passion for baseball.
Caught between two women who seem made just for him, Houston has no idea what his future holds. If only there was a way for them all to find happiness without someone getting hurt.
Books in the Love in Sun City series are tied together and overlap but can be read in any order or as standalones. They contain minimal to no swearing and no explicit content.
Y'all this book is perfection!!! I've been so invested in the Love in Sun City series and the whole time I've been anxiously awaiting this book! There was so much build-up for Houston's story and it honestly did not disappoint in any way! There was just soooo much goodness throughout the whole story! And I loved it all and didn't want it to end at all! I love the Brigg sibs! These siblings are just so much fun and I could totally see myself being friends with them. I know that might sound weird but it's true! The connection I felt with these characters definitely pulled me into their books and this series and had me completely invested and All In!!!
Poor Houston! He needs some help. He's got Tamlin Park, a sports reporter trying to figure out a story on him. And then he has a new neighbor. The sweet and fun Darcy! When he starts having more interactions with both of them his heart starts to become more invested and he's torn. Oh my heck! The poor guy! I love both Tamlin and Darcy and it was hard to decide who he should be with! Will Houston figure it out and do so before both of these ladies are too invested and get their heart broken?
Seriously! Go read it!!! And read all of the books! You can technically read them in any order and be fine but can't I just put in a big plug that you read them in order????!!!! Please, please, please read them in order! Hahahaha! Just because I know the build up that happens throughout them and I love them all sooooo much! The chemistry, the banter, the family aspects, the text messages, the behind the scenes, the food fight and soooo much more that is part of all of the books are just fantastic! This is seriously one of my favorite book series!!! And that's saying something because I've read A LOT of book series!
Enjoy and be warned that you'll be sucked in! I'm sooooo excited to see what this author has in store for us readers this next year cause if it's anything like Love in Sun City books then it's going to be AMAAAAZZZIIINNNGGGG!!!!
Content: Clean!
I received a copy from the author but will purchase my own copy as well. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.
I'm always so sad when a good series ends, but somehow, this one isn't as bittersweet. Maybe knowing that I will happily go back and reread them all over and over helps. But this book is THE perfect end to this series.
Love triangles are never my favorite trope, and I was REALLY nervous going into this one. But I trust Dana and her skills, so I tentatively started this book. Let me tell you, she did this really well. REALLY well. And that's all I'll say about that.
I am enamored with the fact that this book and all the Briggs Sibs books take place at the same time. So when I read about the trivia night and the Halloween party (I relished seeing how that food fight started! (and relished-see what I did there???)), I enjoyed seeing everyone interact from Houston's point of view. AND!! If you're missing your favorite Wonder Boys, they may or may not make an appearance in this one.
I really enjoyed this book, and look forward to reading this series many times over. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go get some nachos...
~I received a complimentary copy of this book. No positive review was required, and all opinions are my own.~
I think I was so overcome by book hangover on this one that I emphatically clicked "5 stars" and forgot to leave a review.
Houston, Tamlin, Darcy. I am a hater of love triangles but this book, I loved. Read the first chapter and you'll find out why.
All of the Briggs sibs have become friends to me, but I'd be lying if I didn't admit that waiting for Houston's story was painful. I've spent four books now enjoying his cameos, so getting to read a book all about him was like getting free dessert, complete with singing waiters and waitresses. The chemistry in this book is off the charts (in a closed-door, clean way) and I am sure I will find myself coming back to Sun City over and over again.
And here's a public service announcement: Dana LeCheminant has written a novella-ish bonus epilogue for the series that you don't want to miss! It's free and available for her newsletter subscribers!
I’ve been looking forward to Houston’s story since the beginning! And it was worth the wait!
You can read the books in any order, but I think Houston’s book is best left for last. I loved getting all the big questions answered and I loved the twists that this book took.
Check this out if you like clean romcoms, baseball, and a bit of rivals to more.
Thank you to the author for the eARC. All opinions are my own.
Oh my! I have been so intrigued by Houston from the pieces of his story that we got in the other 3 books from this series and his story delivered big time! What an amazing book and finish to this top notch series from Dana LeCheminant!
Houston is a star pitcher who is at a crossroads in his life after a shoulder injury may mean the end of his baseball career; he finds himself wondering what comes next. Enter Darcy, his new next door neighbor who is real and unlike the women he has dated before. She seems to be able to see the man behind the baseball star. However Huston also can't seem to deny the chemistry he has with sports reporter Tamlin Park. When he finds himself falling for two women he can’t help but wonder how to find happiness without anyone getting hurt.
This book started out with a bang, with a surprise right from the start that I was not expecting and completely delivered right to the very end of the story! There were just so many twists that made this one super fun! I fell in love with Houston. He is kind, generous and one swoony man! I love how he was always thinking of others around him and doing whatever he could to help. I enjoy a good love triangle and this one was done to perfection. This book had me feeling all the feels. It was funny, it was heartwarming, and had some of the most amazing, swoony kisses. I'm not even sure what to write that will do this book justice so just do yourself a favor and read it. It's that good!
Things I loved: Moving into the apartment Scorpions Briggs siblings Kit and The Wonder Boys Cameo Little League Big Henry’s Halloween All the hand holding Talking under the Stars The swooniest kisses
Houston, We Have a Problem is book 4 in the Love In SunCity series. This series can be read in any order but you will want to save this one for last.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I've been anxiously waiting to read Houston's story. The previous books have been setting everything up perfectly and finally, here we are. I have to admit that my anxiety levels were through the roof with this one, in the best of ways. I wanted so desperately or Houston to have a happy ending and not get hurt. I just wasn't sure how that was going to happen! It was a good ride though, so worth all my anxiety! I adore Houston. He's everything honorable, generous and good. I loved this book and this whole series.
All the emotions. ALL OF THEM. Just a few pages in and:
IM SCREAMING. SCREAMING.
"I'm probably the worst person to give this advice, but hear me out. You can't do it all. If you give yourself one hundred percent all of the time, there's going to be nothing left."
This book had me laughing and crying. I loved it all.
We first met Houston in Love on Display and I’ve been waiting for his book ever since. Houston, We Have a Problem did not disappoint! I loved it so much. I laughed and cried which is always a win. The characters were all just *chefs kiss*
Seriously friends if you like a feel good story with the most lovable characters pick this up!
Houston, We Have a Problem. Honestly, what a PERFECT title. Dana had me all kinds of up in my feels about Houston having a love triangle (one of my least fave tropes), but I should have never doubted for a second. This was such a unique, fun, and emotional read!
Things I Loved: -The meet-mess (What else could you call that? 😂) -Active hand-holding situation -KIT! -Little League -Captain America of baseball -“You are not Mrs. Doubtfiring me.” Bahaha -“Between you and me, I like you better than Chris Evans, and that’s saying something.” -“This is bigger than a tutu, isn’t it?” -“Sun City” convo -The food fight -Playing baseball -The Wonder Boys -The whole ending!!! P.S. GET THE SERIES EPILOGUE ♥️
You guys, this was the perfect end to the Briggs Sibs’ stories. I laughed, I teared up, I was dying from the tension, and I loved it all. And this series is really unique in the fact that the timelines are overlapping so you can technically read them in any order—but I think saving Houston for last is the best call. I love how everything for his story trickled out until his book. Do not miss out!
So this book is amazing! And I went into it with some high expectations with all the teasers we’ve had of Houston’s book in the series so far, but also with a little trepidation because love triangles are not my favorite trope. But have no fear! Dana writes Houston’s story with her signature mark of fantastic humor and sweet emotional connection. Houston is at a crossroads and he doesn’t want to be. He knows life will look different no matter he chooses, but right now he’s stranded with indecision. None of that is helped when Darcy moves into the other side of his duplex. (Also, this might be one of my favorite meet cutes I’ve ever read! Loved it so much!) Darcy is sweet, funny, and charming with her girl next door personality and Houston feels safer with her than anyone else. He can talk to her about things and not feel judged. But Darcy gives him such weird signals and he can’t tell if she’s flirting or friend zoning him half the time. And of course the gorgeous reporter, Tamlin Park is also in town and Houston can’t shake the feeling that she’s there for him. Tamlin is smart, gorgeous, and Houston realizes, someone he has completely misjudged. But what’s a guy to do when their whole life feels this confusing?
Darcy is awesome, and I loved her as our leading heroine! Of course, it’s a little complicated with her being both Darcy and Tamlin! That’s right, Darcy is in town to get a career making story from Houston Briggs, but she and her alter-ego realize that she’s way over head. Or maybe head over heels? Because Houston Briggs might just be stealing her heart too. But how does she tell him the truth?
This is such a great roller coaster ride of hilarious moments, swoon worthy romance, and cameos by all of our favorite characters!
Thank you to the author for an arc copy. All thoughts are my own.
What an incredible ending to a wonderful series!! I have been looking forward to Houston’s story so much, and Dana definitely saved the best for last!!
I’m not going to say much about this story because you need to read this story without knowing all the details, just trust me! I don’t want to give any spoilers! But, I will say these things….
Houston was the perfect mixture of a tough guy and a sweet softy. He’s definitely my fav Briggs sibling for so many reasons!
I’m not a huge fan of love triangles, but Dana did it justice! It couldn’t have been better!
I was so glad to finally see how the Halloween food fight started after reading about the aftermath in the previous books! It was worth the wait!
The family elements in this story and throughout the series are just beautiful! These characters hold a special place in my heart!
I loved the baseball theme! I haven’t read many baseball romances, so it was fun for a change!
Now here are some of my fav things, I tried to keep them spoiler free!! 😂
⚾️Darcy and Houston meet cute ⚾️Hou’s slippers ⚾️Breakfast with Darcy ⚾️The back patio scene ⚾️The laundry scene ⚾️Trivia Night ⚾️Little league game ⚾️Big Henry’s Diner ⚾️Halloween Day ⚾️Playing baseball with Tamlin ⚾️The kisses!!🔥🔥 ⚾️That Epilogue!!! It’s everything!!
While you can read this series in any order, I do recommend saving this one for last! It makes it all that more special!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
'Houston Briggs may seem perfect on the outside, but there's no way he's that good both on and off the field.'
Ohhhh, Houston! I have been waiting for this story since BOOK 1!!!
Sports Romance Enemies to More The Girl Next Door Love Triangle Dilemma THE BEST KIND OF ENDING!!
'Love shouldn't be this complicated' -Houston
There is so much to love about this book. I'm not going to give hardly anything away because this book is so fun going into it completely blind! It's fun, it's fast-paced and let me just tell you...the ending is absolutely epic. Tears and full on ugly crying (in the best kind of way) is how you'll wrap this one up.
If you like entertaining reads-this fits the bill!!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Content: Love triangle twist, friend/family relationships, some innuendo regarding female anatomy, a couple of bible swears, romance-kisses only.
Favorite parts: ⚾️ Tamlin's interview with Houston ⚾️ Moving into the apartment ⚾️ First night at the apartment ⚾️ Taking breakfast to Darcy ⚾️ Tamlin at the Clubhouse ⚾️ Movie night with Brooklyn ⚾️ Doing laundry ⚾️ Trivia night with Tamlin ⚾️ Darcy Texting Houston during Trivia night ⚾️ Talking with Kit Morgan ⚾️ Late night nachos on the porch ⚾️ Little League game ⚾️ Big Henry's ⚾️ The Gala ⚾️ After the Gala ⚾️ Halloween ⚾️ Carving pumpkins 🎃 ⚾️ Little League interview ⚾️ The Wonder Boys! ⚾️ Press conference with Tamlin ⚾️ Kiss Cam
Wow, just wow. I don't even know how to find words to express how much I loved this book.
For being my first read of the New Year I sure started off with a bang! This book was so much fun to read and it was so well written. I LOVED the love triangle trope in this book, it's one of the only books that I enjoyed that trope in.
I seriously fell in love with Houston! He was perfect. I love how much he cares about others and doesn't let his wealth or his fame take away from the wonderful person that he is. I also really love how protective and caring he is of Darcy and Tamlin. He may have super conflicted feelings for those two, but he doesn't want to see either one get hurt.
Also, Houston with Conner at the little league game was just the sweetest moment!
I love Tamlin's spunk and bold confidence. And I love how down to earth Darcy is. Getting to know both of those ladies was really fun, especially after hearing about them in the previous Sun City books.
This is the 4th and final book in the Sun City series. You can read this series in any order and it won't really affect much (since they happen at pretty much the same time). But I highly recommend reading Houston's story last. Getting the snippets of his story in the previous books makes reading this one last so much sweeter!
The title got my attention (since I'm from Houston!) and baseball has always been my favorite sport, so I knew I'd love this book. But it exceeded my expectations. It's so fun, and had me laughing and smiling the whole time. A bit unrealistic - of course! But it just made me happy, and it was just the story I needed this week.
This series is so unique - all of the books take place during the same time frame, and the books can be read in any order. I decided to test that out and read a few out of order. This almost killed my OCD side, but each book has just enough overlap to make them work out of order.
I highly recommend this series - it's full of all the tropes and all the sweet romance!
Love Love Loved this!!! Houston is SO tired. Tired of pitching, tired of his routine, he just needs a break. But when his arm starts giving out on him, he realizes that his career might be over and he isn’t sure how to deal with that.
Darcy and Tamlin, Tamlin and Darcy. For the next few months, Darcy is Houston neighbor. She is super down to earth and Houston finds he really likes having her as a neighbor. Tamlin, a fierce soorts teporter that digs up dirt on players, has followed Houston to New Mexico to find out if there is story there. And Houston is NOT happy about her being in his town. Until he is, causing his heart to be torn between two people.
I don’t want to give away any spoilers, so I will just stop there. But, I also have to say it was SO fun seeing a few of the characters from Dana’s other books in this book. ❤️❤️
*I received a copy of this book as an ARC reviewer, but a positive review wasn’t required. All thoughts are solely what I personally thought of this beautiful book.❤️❤️❤️
As I’ve read each book in the sun city series, I have been very curious about Houston. What is going on with him and the women in his life??
This books jumps right in with a complete shock and I absolutely loved the experience. I audibly gasped and wanted to talk to someone about it, but I could not spoil the book for anyone. Yes all these books happen in the same time frame and could be read as stand alone books, but you will not fully appreciate this book if you don’t read the other books first. It’s so worth it!
I really enjoyed getting to know Houston better, as well as Tamlin and Darcey. What is Houston to do with two completely different women in his life that have caught his attention and challenge him? I really enjoyed getting to know each character and watching them interact. I had a huge smile on my face throughout this book. It was the perfect ending to the sun city series.
I have been loving this series with all the cute siblings and their overlapping stories. I was so excited to read about Houston!!
Houston is the sweetest, best guy! I loved how good he was and that he was always trying to be better! I loved how hard and fast he fell for Darcy!
Darcy was so cute, even though her alter ego, Tamlin, was fierce! I’m still not sure how she kept her two sides straight—especially when she spent time with Houston! I also was dying to know how it would all play out since Hou was having feelings for both of them and I was worried what would happen when it all unfolded! However, it all turned out so great, making me love these two even more!
This book is AMAZING!! Houston may be faced with a problem, but I had no problem happily eating it all up! I loved everything single thing about this book! It lived up to all the expectations I had as I collected all the clues from the rest of the series.
And Houston! He is the best. The “Captain America of baseball” is so good and kind and I absolutely adore him! I loved seeing how much he cares about his people. And his flirting game is ON POINT!
This story had so many fun plot points and oodles of swoony, sweet moments. I even shed a few tears at the end. I was so happy with how it played out!
We get some sports romance, a bit of celebrity attention, a very entertaining and unique love triangle, and all the fun Briggs sibling moments.
Dana Lecheminant has done something really special and unique with The Sun City Series. The timelines of the books overlap and we get to experience the same family scenes from different points of view throughout the books. Reading the series like this is such an interesting adventure. There were some events that I was really anxious to see played out completely in this book and they did not disappoint! If you are interested in reading any others in the series (and you should), I would suggest saving this one for last for the full effect! Without a doubt, Dana Lecheminant is brilliant storyteller!
As a big baseball fan, this book thrilled me, I loved that Houston was a professional baseball player. This story was unique and fun and one I’d been waiting for through the earlier books in the the series. As I have come to expect, there were multiple laugh out loud moments and the way Dana wove the storyline was top notch. A fantastic read and I am sorry to see the series end! I hope we see more of these characters in future books!
This book is great! I admit, I was a little skeptical going in. Mostly because I dislike love triangles, but also because I’ve read Thunderstruck so already knew who was who (and this one had awkward written all over it). Yeah, it is a little awkward, and yeah, I was horrified and outraged when I discovered Darcy being his neighbor was no accident (so much worse!)… But this book is really well done. I’m surprised how much I enjoyed it even. It’s highly engaging, and I really appreciate how Dana LeCheminant handled the reveal and ending.
I love how LeCheminant used the overlapping timeline with this series. You would think it’d get old watching the same shared scenes over and over, but not at all. It makes it that much better because you have the larger context and get to see each unique take on it. I loved having those milestones in place and watching all the holes be progressively filled in as we went. It turns out many of my assumptions about Houston/Darcy/Tamlin in the shared scenes were off, and I liked Houston much better coming out of this one.
Despite not enjoying book 2, this is a great series and I definitely recommend it to contemporary rom-com fans.
Content: There is no sex or violence. The word “hell” is used a couple of times, but otherwise the language is clean. The romance is limited to mildly descriptive kisses. There is no mention of faith or God.
I can’t say much because of spoilers, but man oh man, what a story! 😍
Despite being absolutely petrified of this love triangle going in, I can say with calm assurance: Readers, trust your authors. They know what they’re doing, and Dana truly does! (And thankfully we get clued in quickly to what’s happening so when I tell you my sigh of relief was palatable after the angst of the last three books, trust me.)
There was so much to love, so much to laugh over!
⚾️ the Houston-Darcy-Tamlin dynamics (particularly on trivia night, haha 😂) ⚾️ the way Houston thinks about Brooklyn even when they aren’t together—their twin thing is super cute ⚾️ that “murder scene meet cute” had me dying, no pun intended ⚾️ the way our lovable Houston the golden boy of sports is terrified of losing everything he cares about all too fast ⚾️ Houston as a Little League coach ⚾️ FINALLYYYYY after three books we get the details on what started that Halloween night food fight ⚾️ The way Kit & the Wonder Boys are there of Houston… ahhh my heart 😭 I love these fellas so much ⚾️ Houston & Jordan being… well, Houston and Jordan
And do yourself a favour and be sure to read the EPIC series epilogue Dana wrote—it hit me in all the feels! 😭🥰
Even if I wasn’t a softball catcher back in the day, I would still love the title of this book! I’m going to make this short because I don’t want to ruin anything. I like to read blind and was super thrown when I stumbled on something so my lips are sealed.
But my fingers want to say that all the heart eyes go to Houston. I’m a sports romance girl so this pro baseball player is fire. His struggles are real, but finally getting to see other sides of him was worth the wait. Plus we see his siblings and friends to make the circle complete. Oh happy sigh. He also handled the entire last part of the book with all kinds of grace. All kinds! And the ending. Perfect.
Darcy. Hmmmm. Tamlin. Hmmmmm. Yeah the whole first half neither of you were on my Christmas card list. I’m still not sure I’ll send you one. But Houston yes. Absolutely. Every year.
It’s dual POV with flirty fun and all kinds of charged moments. -A food fight. -A kiss cam. -Baseball talk. -Bros. -Trivia. -Kissing. -Friends and family.
Houston may not always be able to throw a perfect game. If love gets involved will he recognize her name?
This book is epic! The last Installment in the Sun City series is amazing and a must read. While all of the books take place during the same time period, I definitely recommend reading this one last or there will be spoilers. And you don’t want that!
I loved getting to know Houston. From his inability to cook to his generosity to others, he was an amazing guy. Besides that, the guy just happens to be a World Series winning pitcher, and super hot!!! (Insert swoon here) I loved how he and Darcy met, I was laughing so hard! It was memorable to be sure. The struggle with Tamlin and Darcy had me wondering how everything would ever work out.
The moments from the other books that we get to see from Houston’s perspective rounded the entire story out. The Briggs siblings are the best and I think everyone deep down wants siblings who love them like that. The full circle moment with the Wonder Boys and Houston made me smile from ear to ear. Basically LeCheminant makes her readers’ dreams come true with all of the connections throughout this story. Like I said, it is epic! If you like RomComs you need this series in your life and on your shelf. Run and get your copy and then sit down and enjoy the ride!
I liked this better than I thought I would but the last quarter turned it from a 4 star to a 3. I wasn’t looking forward to a Houston/Tamlin story so I was happy to find that he goes for Darcy. I liked the first 3/4 of the book but then Houston decides that he likes Tamlin too. It totally came from out of the blue! He is actively perusing Darcy and then two days after kissing her he goes on a date with Tamlin and kisses her too/decides he’s falling for her? I don’t like cheaters. Just because they turn out to be the same person doesn’t make it any better. He didn’t know they were the same person.
The Love in Sun City series has been so fun to read!! I love that all these books happen around the same time as each other! Houston, We Have a Problem was the perfect ending!! I love Houston and have been excited for his book since the beginning! He's one of the most down to earth fictional men I've read about.
Houston is a baseball player who is getting close to his getting close to the end of his career, which might come sooner than he wanted, due to an injury to his arm.
I really enjoyed getting to know @authordanalecheminant's MMC better. He's got some things to figure out in life as well as a love triangle with 2 pretty different women. I don't usually read love triangles but Dana does a great job with this one! I loved both Darcy and Tamlin!
The fun sibling moments were some of my favorite things about Houston, We Have a Problem! Their times together including: trivia nights, food fights, nachos, cameos from the Wonder Boys and more had me laughing!
This book is not like the normal love triangle! If you enjoy contemporary romance with late night chats, hilarious meet cutes and great side characters, read this book!! Since these books happen around the same time, I would suggest reading in order!
I received an eARC from Dana in exchange for a review. Houston's story is available now though, so you don't have to wait to read it! All books in this series is available!
Dana set up this series perfectly with the suspense of who Houston would end up in love with. In the previous books in the Love in Sun City Series, two possible love interests are introduced. This book wraps up the story quite nicely, and I have to say that my mind was sufficiently blown from the very beginning. I refuse to give any spoilers, but for the full effect of reading this book and enjoying it, please read the rest of the series first. You won't regret it!
If you are a baseball fan, this book is a must read. The humor was on the mark, and Houston's indecision about many things takes center stage in the book. Indecision isn't my preferred subject matter, simply because I am a decisive person, but I didn't mind it one bit.
Thank you to the author for the advance copy of this book. A positive review was not required.
This series is a must read. I really mean it. Plus, a while ago we talked sports tropes and so many of you said you wanted more baseball. Well, 😏 wish granted.
If you like families, intertwined stories, romance, love triangles, work romances, enemies to more, neighbors, and just so much good, read it. Love it. You know. Get invested. Like I am.
Now, I want to go reread all the books because the overlapping scenes are SO MUCH FUN from all the povs.
Absolutely loved this book! I was nervous about the love triangle but it was everything I hoped it would be🤎 and my theory was correct😏. I have loved the Briggs siblings books and watching Houston fall in love was the best way to end it!
