Flint Maxwell was born and raised in Northeast Ohio and still lives there today with his beautiful wife and daughter, and their four furry best friends.
He primarily writes horror fiction, but has been known to dabble in many different genres.
After reading Maxwell's THE THIRST, I wrote a review thinking that book must be the first in a series. It wasn't. THE SLAYER, book 3 in the John Carved series, wraps up THE THIRST...Almost, at least for the main characters. On to SLAYER! Having read several Flint Maxwell books, I just expected more. This wasn't a bad book. It was interesting enough but it just lacked something. Harry, Annette and John were just a little too flippant. The final resolution felt rushed and not particularly suspenseful. All in all, if you're looking for a quick, fairly entertaining read, SLAYER is okay, or if you're a fan of Maxwell, you probably should read it if the Carver series continues. If you haven't read Maxwell before, this is not where to start.
Good, easy read, action packed with a light note of Harry Potter kind of vibes. Annette definitely felt like this series’ Hermione. Highly recommend if you enjoy supernatural, magic (science as put in the book -wink-), little bit of gore, action, and mild mystery solving (more through the characters than yourself though). Definitely a solid 4 star.
Even though my heading says it all, I can't very well leave it there. Mister Maxwell has joined the rarefied air of my top 4 favorite writers. Harlan Coben, Christopher Moore, and Nathan Hystad, forgive me. I've been cheating on you with Flint Maxwell.
Wildly imaginative! Great, multi-faceted characters. Very unique plot. Vivid descriptions. A REALLY great read! Can't wait for this series to continue!!!
*I received a complimentary ARC of this book in order to read and provide a voluntary, unbiased and honest review, should I choose to do so.
I a a first time reader of this author and decided to download the trilogy. I Love love loved them. I could not put them down.I feel like I really know John Carved and really hope there will be more
This was a great book! Lots of action and a lot of suspense. I really enjoyed it. I really enjoyed the ending. Now you are into the zone. A complete turn around from the last book.
I hope the author will consider writing a Carver book 4! I couldn’t put down the books and very easy to read! I would recommend the series to anyone who enjoys horror stories!
Great series. Hope there's more coming in this series. I've read most of Mr Maxwells books and this like the others, these three didn't disappoint. Great job, and keep them coming.
Great read! I love this author’s work. I wish he wish he would produce more novels faster! Ha ha! Thank you Mr. Maxwell I look forward to your next piece of work.
