An intriguing opening. Interesting world building and some fiery characters. There seems to be quite a bit more to this story as it continues in the series.

Overall, A fine first entry to the series. Writing's a little rough early, with long paragraphs of dialog by one character followed by long paragraphs of dialog by another character, but it starts to get better later.
