Oh my gosh, this was filled with so many grip your Kindle moments! I was not prepared for the ride this book was going to take me on.

I was thrilled to learn that Midas was getting his own story. His background was one of the most unique that I’ve ever read and I couldn’t wait to find out where this author was going to lead him. His protective instincts over Alina had me falling further in love with him especially when he had to make some hard decisions.

This story wrecked me in every way. As it slowly unfolded and so many truths were revealed, I never knew which direction it was going to go. I found myself guessing, then second guessing and I was still floundering in the swirl of characters and clues. I love when that happens.

“Sometimes, something special can be right in front of you, but you miss it because you don’t take a chance.”

Alina Bellamy is in danger so her father hires a bodyguard without her knowledge. Her life revolves around ice skating. When she meets Midas there attraction is immediate.

“You’re in every dream I have.” She was his dream. The only thing that mattered.

Midas is larger than life in body and personality.
We met him before and I knew he would be my favorite. So physically strong yet mentally vulnerable. These Ice Breakers fall hard and fast.

“Isn’t it strange, the way monsters can hide right in front of us, and we don’t see them?” He raised his brows. “Chills you right to the bone, doesn’t it?”

Cynthia continues to amaze and wow me with her ability to create fresh and interesting stories.

This book had me at the edge of my seat the entire time. I just could not put it down. If you love serial killer shows as much as I do, then you will enjoy this book a lot. There is just such a great serial-killer vibe to this story. Midas’s dad is a serial killer who has been caught, but we quickly realize that there is a copycat on the loose, and this mysterious kidnapper/killer has their sights set on Alina. What made this book so darn interesting was the thriller aspects of this book. There are several moving pieces in the thriller portion of the story. First, you have Midas’s father, who is in jail but still plays an active role in this book. He has his own agenda; as a reader, you are left trying to figure out his end game. Then you have this copycat kidnapper/killer who has been praying on young women from rich families. And then, finally, you have Alina’s father, who appears to be hiding something we just don’t know what that is. You know everything is connected; you just don’t know how, and I loved trying to guess where things were going. There were some pretty spectacular twists and unexpected reveals that had me saying, “No f-ing way!” Cynthia really knows how to write a solid thriller that is far from predictable.

The romance works beautifully with the thriller portion of this book. If you love an alpha male who has that “touch her and you’ll die” attitude and is a little broken inside, then you will love Midas. He truly believes that he is not good enough for Alina. Midas thinks that the world only sees him as a monster because of who his father is. I loved this man; he was just so gruff and broken and just needed Alina to heal those scars that he has. His backstory is just so darn interesting, too. He had such a dark and twisted upbringing that you can’t help but want him to find someone who will love him. Alina was a good character. She has lived a pretty sheltered life. The main reason for this is because ice skating is her world, and she is very driven. There is another reason why she chooses to live a more sheltered life, which has a connection to what is going on in the story. Sorry, I don’t mean to be vague, but I don’t want to give any spoilers away. Alina was a great counterbalance to Midas’s character.

There are some high adrenaline lusty emotions between Alina and Midas. The spice in this book is oh-so-nice and very steamy. Because, let’s be honest, there is no better way to let off some steam or to take your mind off all the bad things that are happening than to bang any chance you get. Yes, there was lots of lusty spice between Alina and Midas, but there were also a lot of more tender, deeper moments between these two. They have actual conversations and get to know each other. They talk about their past, their fears, and what is going on in their heads. Those quieter moments add a lot of depth to the story.

Ice Cold Kiss is another high-adrenaline, fast-paced romantic thriller that I could not put down.

ICE COLD KISS is the eight instalment in Cynthia Eden’s contemporary, adult ICE BREAKER COLD CASE romantic suspense series focusing on the men and women who work for Ice Breakers, an online team of crime solvers whose goal is to solve cold cases. This is security specialist/body guard Midas Monroe, and Olympic ice skating contender Alina Bellamy’s story line. ICE COLD KISS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from several omniscient third person perspectives including Midas and Alina ICE COLD KISS follows in the wake of threats against our story line heroine. Alina Bellamy is preparing for the qualifications for the US women’s Olympic figure skating team but unbeknownst to Alina, threats have been made, and her father has hired the best of the best. Enter bodyguard Midas Monroe, a man who came highly recommended to Ryker Bellamy but all is not as it appears to be when Midas discovers the threats to Alina may be connected to his past. What ensues is the building but forbidden relationship between Midas and Alina, and the potential fall out as secrets and lies threaten everyone involved.

The world building focuses on Alina’s quest for the Olympics; Midas’ past that refuses to let go; and the secrets that continue to betray our story line couple.

The relationship between Alina and Midas begins as an assignment of which Alina knows nothing about. Alina believes Midas is the new head of security at the rink but Midas has been tasked with protecting the woman with whom he will fall in love. Their attraction is immediate but Midas knows that to cross the line would mean no turning back. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and test.

The secondary and supporting characters include several of the security specialists that work for the Ice Breakers Cold Case including PI Ophelia Lane, and Ice Breakers cold case member Lane Lawson. We are introduced to Alina’s father Ryker Bellamy, his security and legal team, as well as Midas’ father Henry Monroe. The requisite evil has many faces.

ICE COLD KISS is a story of betrayal and vengeance, secrets and lies, obsession, madness and murder, family, friendships, acceptance and love. The premise is intriguing, captivating and dramatic; the romance is seductive; the characters are determined, dynamic and charismatic.

Oh Midas, how I love you. From the minute we were introduce to him I just loved him. His dry humor and quick wit will draw you in. What will keep you with him is the way her protects those he's in charge of. Add falling in love and no one will get between him and the person he loves.

Ice Cold Kiss has many twists and turns and will keep you guessing. I love the characters of this book and enjoyed this story a lot. Both Midas and Alina are great characters. Right away you like them and are happy with the thought of them getting together.

Midas has lived a life of hell. His father is a horrible human being and I'm surprised that he's not totally messed up. His childhood and young adult time forged a person who has over developed need to protect. Which means his job as a bodyguard is tailored made for him.

Right away you see how sheltered Alina has been. Her whole life is skating and very little else. She works hard and very little else. I felt bad for her. She seems to only live half a life. Having a goal and working hard towards it is wonderful but having nothing else isn't heathy.

When these two come together right away you just feel the heat. Midas is very protected of Alina and risks his life for her more than once. They fall for each other very fast but as you read the story you get it.

Things come out that rock both their worlds and cause them the almost crash and burn but Midas is lucky that Alina can see him for the man he is not for the man he worries that he is. It might be a scary ride for these two but in the end it will be worth it.

My best friend and I have read every single book in this series so far. We love them all, preorder every new release, and arrange our reading schedule so that we can read on release day. And so far, we have devoured every book and a day or two. Until this one…I can say that this book to me just as long to read as the tandem read I did for the Throne of Glass series. Here are some of my thoughts.

1) The voice of this book was SO different from the others. To the point where I’m almost convinced that this book was ghostwritten. Some characters that we have had interactions with throughout the series didn’t even show similarities to how their personalities were in previous books.

2) The repetition was…repetitive. There were too many occasions where a sentence would be just slightly reworded and reused. After the previous book, I was so excited to meet and fall in love with Midas but his vocabulary was severely lacking. But it wasnt just him. All of the characters in this book repeated themselves quite often.

3) The overall all pace of the book was just erratic. As compared to previous books, we had the suspense/mystery intertwined all throughout the book but had periods of wonderfully written steamy romance, and some periods of levity or even some comedic relief. This book had almost none of that. There was very little romance, and of what little there was felt very rushed and almost forced to the point of it being slightly uncomfortable.

Overall, this book just made me sad because I have loved every book up to this point and was just so disappointed reading this one.

That being said, I will be reading the next book. I just really hope that the next book doesn’t share the same downfalls that this book has.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "ICE COLD KISS"
This is a phenominal mind-blowing, riviting, intense, thrilling, action packed rollercoaster ride full of emotional turmoil, suspense, danger, angst, kidnapping, fear, steam, secrets, lies, twists that keeps you turning the pages.
Midas Monroe is hired by Ryker Bellamy to protect his daughter Alina about to Gold Medal Olympic figure skating winner but shes been getting crazy emails & letters, he doesn't want Midas to tell her he's a bodyguard because she's fired all the others.
Alina is practicing at the training rink alone she takes a terrible fall then hears Midas voice he comes onto the ice then lights go out not suppose up happen he helps her up then all the lights come on & former 2 time Gold Medal Olympic winner Dimitri Sokolov her coach shows up.
Dimitri & Midas have words he seems very possessive of Alina & Midas doesn't like him at all, he's to hard & critical of Alina.
Alina gets kidnapped but Midas manages to resume her with kidnappers chafing after them, he finds out
this all has something to do with his past he thought was gone, will he & Alina figure out who's after her & why.
I definitely recommend to get this mind-blowing phenominal journey Midas & Alina take you on, will she find out about his past who his father is, will they get a HEA, this absolutely a must read you don't want to miss you so won't be disappointed.
I'm so looking forward to "LOCKED IN ICE" next book in this amazing well written series.

Ice Cold Kiss by the incredible Cynthia Eden is the latest book in the Ice Breaker Cold Case Series but there is nothing cold about this storyline except maybe Henry – Henry is definitely cold, but I digress – This is Midas and Alina’s story and it starts out with a roar and never slows down. As with the other books in this series, they are all standalones, but I suggest reading them in order since many of the characters appear in subsequent books and I personally think it’s more fun when you recognize them when reading the current one. As the title implies, there’s always a “cold case” somewhere in the story that needs solving but this one had a ton of twists and turns. Just when I think I’ve figured it out, Ms. Eden throws me for a loop and I’m ready to throw my Kindle out the window. Ms. Eden is an excellent story teller in the romantic suspense genre and she never fails to surprise me with each and every new release. I don’t know how she creates such new, diverse and interesting books, but I hope she never stops! Another crazy dangerous romantic suspense with intrigue, drama, terror, suspense, laughter and tears – it’s all in here and you don’t want to miss it! Another 5+ star read. I'm very grateful to have been given an opportunity to read and review an advance copy of this book through NetGalley.

This is the year that I’ll read thru Cynthia Eden’s catalog, I think.
I just finished Ice Cold Kiss (Ice Breaker Cold Case Romance Book 8). I actually started with #7, Buried Under Ice, then went back to start from the beginning. What a fabulous series! And yes, I’ll read each one that comes out; they are that good!
In this story, Midas has a dark, horrifying past. It’s not a secret, but he doesn’t flaunt it. He tries to live every day, proving he is not ‘that’ guy. Then, he’s hired to protect Alina Bellamy. But she can’t know he’s protecting her. And, Alina’s dad, who hired Midas, is holding out on other things too.
Midas is captivated by Alina from the start. She is light, all he’s ever wanted, all he can never have….except she comes to want him too, to love him, too. She’s safe with him. These two lonely people complete each other, although it takes time to cut thru lies put forth by everyone else. I love how these two become one.
It’s quite a journey.
CE gives us another story of suspense, with bad guys that masquerade as good guys, bad guys that might not be so bad, and some guys that are truly evil. Lots of twists to the story. But everything is revealed by the end.
Loved it!

A solid five from me for this book because I was totally bamboozled by the end but yep my lips are sealed. This felt very appropriate for a story featuring a figure skater because no matter what happened Alina and Midas truly had to keep going, you fall down you get up again never felt so right.
Oh Midas he definitely has the touch when it comes to protection and seeing him fall hard for Alina definitely made me smile. Alina has devoted herself to her Olympic dreams so is clearly blindsided by this hunk of gorgeous man who will do whatever it takes to look after her and incidentally make this old romantic reader happy.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the insidious, cunning evil that plotted to hurt these characters as it gave the story a creepy, realistic vibe. The scenes when buttons are pushed ( no spoilers) just made everything come together. Plus we get the always awesome and fun Ice Breakers with both old and new characters to cheer for. This was definitely an entertaining read and I'm already looking forward to more and yes I'm looking at you Lane !
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

Ice Cold Kiss, the mind-boggling eighth book in Eden’s "Ice Breaker Cold Case Series" keeps you on the edge-of your-seat start to finish! The dark and evil plot hits like a wrecking ball, leaving you utterly shocked and breathless.

Loved both lead characters – two broken souls. Midas Monroe is the perfect example of a tortured hero, who is mysterious and brooding, and Alina Bellamy, the heroine of the story is an Olympic ice-skating contender, a lonely and reserved young woman who lives a quiet life but with a strong backbone.

The building romance between Midas and Alina is everything a reader could hope for -- intimate and passionately portrayed without going “porno” on readers.

Henry is the epitome of a masterful, maniacal, sadistic and deranged serial killer. Eden has outdone herself in creating this heinous and psychotic criminal, a character who is certain to leave readers spellbound and chilled to the bone.

In my opinion, it is the best of the series so far – and each installment is riveting, thrilling and everything a reader could hope for in a suspense-filled romance.

Ice Cold Kiss is part of the Cold Case Series by Cynthia Eden. While Midas Monroe does not actually work for the agency, he is friends with several of the agents. This time his bodyguard duty causes him to need their help. It is a twisty story suspense wise with villains both near and far to Alina Bellamy.

Alina is a strong Olympic hopeful that has spend her life training on the ice. She has had little time for much else so it is no surprise that she sets her sites on Midas. As for Midas he falls hard for her too but has a terrible self-image thanks to his atrocious psychopath father. However, the danger and threat to Alina’s life keeps these two together where lust then love becomes impossible to ignore.

A strong alpha and a determined woman who fight to survive, finding love when they do. Romantic suspense fans will want to read this book.

An ARC of the book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley which I voluntarily chose to read and review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Midas Monroe lived through a devastating childhood. He was temporarily jailed for crimes he didn’t commit; crimes committed by his serial killer father. Thanks to the Ice Breakers, a private cold case unit funded by a wealthy man, he was exonerated. He has been hired to protect Olympic hopeful ice skater Alina Bellamy. Stunned would not be an exaggeration when he first meets her. She is beautiful, naïve, petite and he is an overly large, strong man who is not fit to touch her. He knows he must remain detached from her, but her innocence has him ensnared. When she is kidnapped, he is able to track her, but now needs to be with her twenty-four seven. She has never had someone care so much for her and innocently wants to explore this heat, this chemistry between them. Can he keep her safe while trying to find out, from his father, where other loved ones are buried and begging to be found? A beautiful and emotionally charged addition to this amazing series. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)

Who doesn’t love a good bodyguard romance? I know I’m a sucker for them! I am also totally a sucker for a petite heroine and a huge hero- and this book delivers both!

Our hero is hired to be an undercover bodyguard for an Olympic ice skater by her father. Only problem? Our hero gets one look at our heroine and it’s game over. He is attracted to her right from the start and it is definitely reciprocated. Undercover bodyguard however, goes right out the window when our heroine is kidnapped and our hero will do anything to get to her and keep her safe.

I’m the first to admit the Insta-love romances aren’t normally my thing. However, Cynthia Eden should give master classes in them because she has me hook, line and sinker every time! While both main characters are head over heels to start with they still keep building their connection. A great romantic suspense that can be read as a stand alone.

Ice Cold Kiss is the 8th book in the Ice Breaker Cold Case series and can be read as a standalone. Midas is technically not a member of the group, but he's been introduced in previous books and has assisted them before. He's a wonderful, complex character, totally loveable and I was glad to see him find his perfect match in Alina. Their story is fast-paced and action-filled from the get-go, with plenty of red herrings that kept me guessing and second-guessing, keeping me on the edge of my seat till the very end. It's complimented by tender moments and great sexy times. There are also interactions with other Ice Breakers and a wonderful HEA for the couple. An awesome, exhilarating read that'll join the others on my keeper shelf. Can't wait for the next one!

I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy of Ice Cold Kiss through Net Galley . I absolutely loved reading this story . It's suspenseful and intriguing and so action packed . Wow this story took me on a twisting ride of suspense. I couldn't put it down . Midas Monroe has a dark past but he protects people for a living . Olympic contender ice skater Alina Bellamy is in danger due to her father's secrets . He hires Midas to protect her but doesn't want her knowing .
That secret gets out when Alina is taken . Midas is fast retrieving her . Midas decides there's definitely more going on then they realize and enlists the help of the Ice Breakers . Things get intense and Midas finds things are getting very personal along with his feelings for Alina . Some pasts don't stay in the past . I highly recommend taking the time to read .

Ice Cold Kiss (Ice Breaker Cold Case #8) by Cynthia Eden
Everyone of the Ice Breaker books gets better and better - they only let me give it 5*. Midas Monroe is back bigger and better than ever. He is hired to guard Alina Bellamy - but she can't know he is guarding her. His father is a serial killer, she is an ice skater going for the gold, they have nothing in common - but then opposites attract. There is angst, past murders, kidnapping, terror, suspense, evil, old friends and colleagues, some laughs, some tears, attraction, and lots of steam to get us to a HEA.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Scary Tear-jerker Witty Twisted Entertaining Action-packed Happily Ever After Romantic Wonderful characters Page-turner Great world building Haunting Easy-to-read Tragic Steamy.

Midas Monroe and Alina Bellamy, the hero who believes he's from a bad crop and thus he carries a darkness within himself and believes that he's undeserving of anything good in his life...BUT the innocence and pureness of an Olympic contender in skating will awaken the pure instincts of protection and obsessive need to be better for her closeness brings the light in...
But there are his inner demons to fight first and to cut out the family ties that sully the bloodlines...

well, couldn't have written this in more mysterious tone even if I wanted to...LOL, and it is, this story is more deeper in reflection but somewhat lacking in providing more wholesome ending...it was kind of anticlimactic in a certain way....

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

Wow, just when I think these cold case guys/gals can't get into a worse situation, Midas comes along and meets Alina. I am trying to not give away any spoilers but when your father is a serial killer and Alina's mother "died" it is not shocking to find out that the two are connected.

There are so many twists and turns and red herrings in this story that it keeps you guessing!

It was a book filled with so much feeling that you hurt when the character is hurting.

I could not put the book down and was another winner for the Cold Case series, and as always, I can't wait for the next one to come out.

I love this series. It’s so suspenseful and romantic at the same time. It’s a real page turner with another mystery solved and an HEA. Midas Monroe is the son of a serial killer who was wrongly accused of three murders committed by his father. He feels he is a monster and does not deserve love. Alina Bellamy is being threatened and her father has hired Midas to be her fake boyfriend/bodyguard. They each have an attraction to one another. She is then kidnapped and he rescues her but he is determined to find the kidnapper. There is a lot of spins and twists to solving this mystery. I can’t wait for Lane and Ophelia’s story.

Alina is on the fast track for an Olympic gold medal in figure skating. She does nothing but practice. Midas is the son of a serial killer and a bodyguard. He is hired by Alina’s father to be her bodyguard but she is not to know what he does. So he goes in as a new security guard at the rink she practices skating.
When Alina is taken at night and put in a closet, she believes no one knows where she is. Midas had tagged the car and goes to save her. Alina is attracted to Midas and the feeling is mutual but Midas always kept his rules about not getting involved with the charge except this time.
Now they are trying to figure out who the boss was of the thugs that kidnapped her. To do that they have to talk to the other woman who was kidnapped but she was returned while another one was killed. Then they find out they have to talk to Midas’s father. Will he tell the truth or just jerk them around, like he enjoys doing?
Excellent. A hero and a lonely woman. Secrets. Sex. Action. I love this series and am always excited for the next book.

Another awesome story

I loved this story. Each story is so unique but I really enjoyed Midas story. His dad is a serial killer serving time in jail. Midas gets called to be a bodyguard to an ice skater. But this isn't a run of the mill job. Midas was entranced from the first time he met Aliana and I loved their story. Lots of fast paced action and hot smexy scenes. The development of the characters and their relationship built up and was an enjoyable ride. We do Oliver and Memphis and a new character. Our ice breaker group is growing!

I was so looking forward to reading Midas’ story! I swear, every book by Cynthia Eden I have a new favorite hero!
This is a heartbreaking, emotional and suspenseful read and I loved it!
This series just keeps getting better and better, and I say this with every book in the series! Ice Cold Kiss is a brilliant romantic suspense ! Highly recommended!
I received this arc from the author and this review is my honest opinion.

Great book

This was an exciting book too read. The mystery was so interesting. It was very well written, and had me guessing throughout the book.
I really liked Midas and Alina as a couple. They had instant attraction the first time they met. I liked how into her he was, and totally protective of her. I also like that although she is small and statue, she has strength and gets up every time she falls down. This definitely came in handy when trouble came her way.
Another fantastic book in this series, and I look forward to the next one. I recommend this book in series.

If you regularly read and enjoy Eden's romantic suspense, this will likely be an okay book for you. I was looking forward to Midas' book, but there wasn't much in the way of character development, so that was disappointing. Alina was okay - an Olympic contender in ice skating who spends all her time training so doesn't have much of a life was believable. The mystery boss was pretty obvious. The real problem with this book was the ending with Midas' father - there's no way to suspend disbelief enough for that to be plausible.

This is really good. We have Midas being the bodyguard to Alina (an Olympic skating contender). Her father has hired him with the pretense that she not know he's protecting her. She's to think he's interested in her and becomes her boyfriend. Allis good until she's kidnapped and the truth comes out.

Midas' dad is a convicted serial killer and the person who had Alina kidnapped is following his trade mark kill technique. So his father is tied to this case and all becomes a cluster f. Emotions run high and misunderstandings occur.

Great read and nice add of Midas' dad.

Enjoy!

Ice Cold Kiss

Ok! Another thrilling story. This one is about Alina and Midas. It was interesting getting to know this couple. Midas' childhood was totally messed up. Alina led a very sheltered life. Its amazing to find out who actually brought them together. Loved seeing Alina at the Olympics (like we are watching now) and winning gold for her skating. So happy the bad guys were taken care of. Also happy that this couple can move on to their happy ending. FANTASTIC job Cynthia! I would recommend this book!
