The Ex List

Rate this book
Ryan has one hard and fast rule to dating—never settle.

But following this rule has led her to become a serial dater. As her number of exes grows, so does the list of reasons why she had no choice but to let them go—the same list she coincidentally keeps texting one particular person after every breakup.

Who cares? Grey blocked Ryan’s number after he broke up with her four years ago. He’ll never read them. Plus, he lives in Austin. She lives in San Diego.

When Grey shows up to Ryan’s best friend’s destination wedding, fresh out of another long-term relationship, Ryan has to grin and bear it. After all, this week is about two of her best friends and their love for each other—not Ryan’s eternal quest to get Grey out of her mind.

All Ryan wants is closure. She’s just at a loss on how to actually get it.

If you’re in the market for a slow burn, second chance romance, this book is for you!

There were too many swoon worthy and laugh out loud moments to even count. The characters were so lovable, the friend group was hilarious, the spice was spicing, and the descriptive setting was so dreamy that I’m thinking about booking a one way trip to Telluride.

Thank you to the author for sending me an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

You'll absolutely love this swoon-worthy romance just as I did. Grace's writing is so addicting straight from the start. It's so relatable to me personally, so much so that it was incredibly hard to put down.

Ryan is a 20 something year old living in San Diego, enjoying her job, surfing, volleyball with her friends, and dealing with her failed relationships aka the EX list.
On a week long location wedding/vacation she comes face to face with the one who's 0.5 on her ex list.

It's a fun read full of so many thoughts we all go through about life and love. I just want to dare you to try to put it down.

This was a well written book and I didn’t personally jive with it but I know other people will feel differently! A second chance romance that takes place over a weeklong wedding celebration. I’ve read several books with a similar setting but not the characters being exes, so enjoyed that unique aspect.

I think my main issue is that I didn’t like the FMC. I found myself highlighting a lot about her or that she said because it annoyed me. I think she would have benefited from therapy like she suggested on page 43. I didn’t realize that the ex list would just be her comparing boyfriends to Grey for 2 years in such specific instances. I hoped it would have more substance. Also her two best friends being the serial loner and serial monogamist to her “serial dater” feel a bit on the nose.

They dated for 2 years when they were 20 and it’s been 4 years since the breakup but she doesn’t seem to have matured or healed at all. Her 26 year old problems are either obsessing with NOT becoming her mom and being old. I don’t like how she acted like being 26 was the end of the world and she was destined to settle. There is so much more to life!! I can relate to not wanting to become my mother, but it’s practically her whole personality.

I like math + I hate that my parents “settled” + I compare everyone I date to my ex boyfriend = Ryan

I love my sister + I can code + my hot Achilles tendon = Grey

The ex list + me ≠

I love this book! It was a great second chance romance. I love the notion that she texted her ex everything that she found wrong about the guy she is currently with, simply for the fact that they’re not him. Don’t worry— Grey had her number blocked so he didn’t actually get any of them. But Ryan is surprised when she shows up for a wedding party and her ex and true love, Grey, is there. Maybe what she needs is closure— some casual s*x will get it out of her system right? Except Grey isn’t up for it. After all, nothing can be casual with the one you love.
These two find a way to push past their relationship ending issues and work towards finding a way to be together; though they may live thousands of miles apart and have different life goals. But they can’t live without each other. Ryan can’t keep being a serial dater and Grey doesn’t want to settle for someone who is not her.

Thank you to the author for the early copy and chance to read!

4.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

Ryan is teasingly referred to as a serial dater because of her determination not to settle. She's developed a list of qualities she expects, based on the person she can never forget, Grey. Grey blocked her and disappeared after breaking her heart and she never thought she'd see him again. She's shocked to run into him again at her best friend's weeklong wedding retreat.

My gosh, I adored this second chance romance. GREY BECKETT!!! This man, it's no wonder Ryan has compared every man she's ever dated to him.

There is so much to love about this one. It's sweet and heartwarming. I absolutely loved Ryan, Grey, and their friend group. The humor and awkwardness had me smiling and the slow burn tension was off the charts.

The writing is addicting and thoughtful. Read this when your in the mood for a slowburn, second chance romance with tons of tension, swoony moments, quirky loveable characters, and the perfect amount of open-door spice.

This was too cute and incredibly hard to put down once I started! I loved the playful banter between Ryan and Grey. I know exactly how Ryan had to have felt when Grey broke up with her, but I absolutely loved his reasoning behind it. He only wanted what was best for her and didn’t want to hold her back from her dreams. I loved all of the side characters. Sage was my favorite and I have a feeling she’s going to have a romantic epiphany in the future 🤞🏼 I would have loved to have had Grey’s perspective more, only because I wanted to see more of Lilly 🥹 she seems absolutely adorable.
I loved the text messages Ryan sent each time she ended it with a guy and I loved when she finally let Greg read them.
Overall, it was extremely cute. I loved the writing. And there were plenty of laughs and plenty of spice which I appreciate!

“I can’t change into someone who doesn’t love you.”

Booksta made me read this and I got lucky again! I loved it! Ryan and Grey dated once upon a time, but then she left school. He couldn’t handle the long distance, and he broke it off. It’s been three years and they haven’t spoken or seen each other. Ryan is at her best friend’s wedding, and her fiance introduced Ryan to his friend – Grey. Stunned, Ryan just wants closure so she can get Grey out of her mind.

I loved the way that this book was written. After Grey and Ryan broke up, Grey blocked her. She would go on dates with other men, but none of them compared to Grey. The chapters alternate between the present, and those dates with the guys.

Pearce perfected the tension and chemistry between these two characters. My heart was beating out of my chest as if I was Ryan. This does include some spicy scenes, and those were also well written.

These two were made for each other. And while I would love to have another book boyfriend, I don’t think that I would ever want to take Grey away from Ryan, haha!

So if you enjoy a tension filled book, with a lot of funny scenes, and a HEA, then this is the book for you! I highly suggest romance book lovers check this one out!

The main characters were beautifully written, and I loved that their connection was deep without relying on excessive sexual tension. This book offered a refreshing perspective. The storyline, though a bit slow for me, intricately wove past and present, especially their reconnection at the wedding. While the writing style didn't scream at me, it was a well-crafted story. The supporting characters fit the story perfectly.

The lead female character's lingering immaturity and the absence of her addressing it felt a bit frustrating. Like, OMG! Haha

Overall, a really nice second chance romance read.

I had the privilege of diving into an advanced review copy from the author and this is a first Grace Pearce read for me. Looking forward to reading more!

Put this on the top of your TBR pile RIGHT NOW.
I read this delightful novel in one sitting after a weeklong unintentional book/reading hiatus. It was exquisite.

Quick Synopsis: Our FMC Ryan Copeland (coastal engineer and numbers gal - yay women in STEM!), the newly labeled serial dater of her friend group, is determined to NOT become her mother (oh hey relatable 🫣) and settle for mediocrity in her romantic life. From every failed relationship, Ryan has developed a list of qualities/characteristics that she will not sacrifice in pursuit of her person. She conveniently maintains this list in an unhinged chain of texts sent to her ex from 4 years back who dumped her, blocked her, and fell off the face of the earth. Fast forward to Ryan’s BFFs adventure/destination wedding week in Colorado when the wedding party is being introduced and who else but Grey Beckett arrives to turn up the awkward meter to 100. Now Ryan has to put on a happy face for her friend while coming to terms with all the reasons she hasn’t been able to move on from Grey.

Friends- this book is everything you want in a contemporary romance; humor, shenanigans, tension 🥵, and voices of reason from the very best of friends. I loved every second of reading this and am ready to go back and read it again. I repeatedly smiled out loud, giggled, and lost my poker face in the spice 😳. You feel like you are experiencing and feeling everything Ryan is as she navigates dating. The side characters are so balanced and make you want to be part of their inner circle. Oh and Grey, well he has gone straight to the top of my non-fantasy book boyfriends!

Go pre-order this NOW and make it your Valentines day book of choice 💕🍷🍫

What to expect:
✨Second chance romance
✨Forced proximity
✨Opposites attract
✨Found family
✨Slow burn
✨Ohhh the tension 🥵

This was my first read of the year and it was an easy 5 starser for me.
Ryan (FMC) and Grey (MMC)😍 are college sweethearts. He broke up with Ryan 4 years ago and fell off the face of the earth. During that time, Ryan has been comparing each boyfriend she’s had to Grey and made a list as to why they aren’t Grey. Fast forward to present time, they reunite unexpectedly at a mutual friends wedding. They must spend the week together. Does Ryan get closure after all this time? You must read to find out.

Grey Beckett is true perfection in all its form! 🥹🤤😍 This book had me hoookkedd! I couldn’t put it down. I was so in love with the writing. The characters seemed so real and raw when the author showed all the different aspects of a persons pov, relationships, and even family dynamics. Every character had heart. I don’t think any second chance will beat this one because it didn’t make me sad lol. It’s a slow burn but I think the progression was really good. Everything else kept me fully entertained so I didn’t need the spice. When the spice did come, it came 😉. I can sooo see this one as a movie!!! This is an automatic re-read for me. I’m so glad this was my first book into the year. Alright besties, I know there’s books I reviewed that you followed thru with and loved so this is definitely another one! You can pre order now and have Grey Beckett for Valentine’s Day (you’ll thank me later). 😘

GREY BECKETT!!🦋🦋🦋🦋

The Ex List by Grace Pearce is a Second Chance Romance novel that follows Ryan, a serial dater who has one rule: Never Settle. But the rule has led her to breakup with many guys for various reasons, which she texts to her ex and true Love, Grey, who blocked her number four years ago. When Grey shows up to Ryan’s best friend’s destination wedding, Ryan hopes to get some closure, but Grey has other plans. He still loves Ryan and wants to prove that they belong together, despite living in different cities and having different goals. Will Ryan and Grey find their way back to each other? Or will they remain in each other’s Ex List?

Omg! The way this book had me giggling and kicking my feet in the air, swooning, laughing and every other emotion a human can possibly feel😩🤌🏼

It was like a 2000s Rom-Com movie, with a beautiful setting, a fun plot, and a satisfying ending. It was a perfect blend of humor, drama and romance. It was a fast-paced and engaging read that kept me entertained and invested in the characters and their journeys 🥹😍

The secondary characters like Ryan’s Best friends Sage and Evie and Grey’s best friend Elliot also were so supportive and somehow made the book even more better😍

Thank you so much for this ARC, Grace💕✨🦋

I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves,

✨Second Chance Romance
✨Witty Dialogues
✨Swoon Worthy MMC
✨Smart-Ass FMC
✨Slow Burn

The first chapter feels like an info dump… at first. I wasn’t really getting why we needed all this information until BOOM. The last page of the chapter had me instantly HOOKED. I got sucked right in. Grey is such a lovable MMC/love interest; you’re really rooting for him from the very beginning, and you’re practically BEGGING Ryan to forgive him—I know I was. Ryan is such a loveable, relatable FMC, too. She’s quirky and has insecurities and is terrified of being hurt again, which I think ALL of us can relate to to some degree. Her best friends? THE best friends.

The way the author subtly reveals pieces of the “ex-list” and jumps into the story behind it in the next chapter is straight up GENIUS. The reasons seem so inconsequential at first, but then she goes into the story and UGHHHH. It flows so well and really furthers the story in a unique way.

And can we TALK. ABOUT. THE TENSION. Phewwwwww I was coiled like a SPRING until the *ahem* climax, and I was just squealing with joy. The buildup is phenomenal, the respect they have for each other and their boundaries even after being strangers for years is *chef’s kiss*. I love it when love scenes are equally as emotional/spiritual as they are physical, and this book NAILED IT.

5 stars. 10/10. 4.5/5 spice. Perfection. Forced proximity, second chance… ahhhhh, just perfect. I had the honor of reading this as an ARC, and I can’t wait to get a physical copy in my hands!

Grace Pearce, thank you for creating Grey Beckett. This man will go down as one of my favorite book boyfriends, which says a lot since I usually love a morally grey man, but Grey, I loved him for all of his non-morally grey and annoyingly Grey cinnamon roll ways. Now if only he could exist in real life....

Ok first things first, I am a huge fan of the second chance romance trope and this may be one of my favorite books in this trope. Ryan and Grey are college sweethearts who broke up 4 years ago but these two mutually pined for each other and thought they would have to settle, only to have the opportunity to reignite their love at a mutual friends wedding. Right from the bat, you could sense their love and admiration for each other. It felt as if no time had passed. And to learn why Grey broke up with Ryan in the first place was enough for me to cry.

I don't want to give the whole plot away, but as you read you will understand why the book is called The Ex List. And I can also see why Ryan held every man she dated after Grey to the "boyfriend zero" standard because Grey is truly an amazing man.

So do I think you need to read this book? Absolutely! It's such a cute second chance romance. But just because it's cute, that doesn't mean it isn't spicy. I would give it 🌶🌶 for the spice level. Our boy Grey definitely likes to please and they play a pretty interesting "game" and our boy likes to eat 😉

I received this book as an e-arc. This review is unbiased and 100% my own. Thank you so much Grace Pearce for allowing me to read The Ex List. I can't wait to read more of your books! Can we get a book about Sage? I loved her!

Who should read this book: anyone who likes the movie 10 Things I Hate About You. (Which I’m assuming is everybody, right?) 😆

Because what Ryan hates most about Grey is that she doesn’t really hate him. It’s been four years since he broke her heart and disappeared. She never expected to see him again, but every relationship she has had since then has been haunted by his ghost. Because none of them were him. And now here he is, standing in front of her. And Ryan has a lot of things she needs to get off her chest!

Ahhh. I really really liked this one! I could hardly put it down and finished it in less than 24 hours (at the expense of my sleep schedule!) It’s got the vibes of your favorite classic comfort romcoms. It’s also emotional and gritty at times and it’s all anchored in strong friendships and a healthy dose of self worth.

I like the way that Grace Pearce used Ryan’s Ex relationships to tell the story. And I liked that we got to see someone emotional growth from both characters.

If you like
🩵slow burn
🩵open door romance
🩵strong friendships/ found family
🩵second chances
Then you should definitely add this one to your TBR.

I absolutely devoured this book. I couldn’t put it down or stop thinking about Ryan and Grey. Grey is my newest addition to my book bf roster. Ryan and Grey together was *chefs kiss*, soulmates. They truly complete each other. The slow burn was so worth it and then the spice came in and gave me everything I ever wanted. Perfectly balanced, beautifully written five star read.

My favorite part was the actual X list and all the reasons she dumped her exes as a love letter to Grey. The dual timeline was so engaging and moved the story along quickly, I forgot it was a slow burn, which is high praise.

I never thought second chance and it’s always been you were my favorite tropes but this was so well done that I changed my mind. You won’t be disappointed by this one!

Also all the shoutouts to Hawaii were really cool to see and respectfully done. I never thought I’d see my little Alma mater in a spicy book but here we are!

Thank you to Grace Pearce for the opportunity to read and review this ARC. All opinions are my own.

This was the most adorably, fun read ever! I LOVE a book that provides laughs & spice…especially one with an intelligent FMC. Ryan & Grey were the cutest second chance couple. The banter was top shelf. I also loved Grey’s family’s storyline. It was hard to put this book down once I started it! The writing was incredible. If you love second chance, romcom, or slow burns, read this book now.

Ryan may be new bestie! Intelligent, hot, driven, & can dish it just like she can take it! She was so inspirational due to following her dreams & working hard to attain her goal!

Grey’s character made me smile the whole time. He was so playful & even put his own wants aside for the betterment of Ryan.

“That was a lame attempt at not being so annoyingly annoying all the damn time,” I manage to say.
“I think I’d rather you hate me than regret me.”

A wonderfully well written second chance romance read. I loved this storyline! A slow burn romance with great characters and plenty of swoon and laugh out loud moments! For me, this book had everything - sweet and steamy, laughs and great friends, angst and a HEA. A perfect read for valentines day - or any time you want some romance in your life. Ryan and Grey are our main characters and after Grey broken things off with Ryan seemingly dropped off the face of the earth and Ryan since has had date after date comparing them all to Grey - when the two are forced back together for a week to celebrate the wedding of their mutual friends. This could be a disaster...or it could be the second chance to a HEA?!?

I enjoyed the aspect of the three friends. Having all of them approach relationships differently was a fun idea. I also think that it furthered the plot in a way that was needed.

The love interest of Grey wasn't exactly a surprise, especially based on the book blurb, but I loved that the history and the present seem to continue to mix. The reason for Grey's actions years ago turned into Ryan's reason for what she thinks is right. I enjoyed seeing Ryan's realization and growth throughout the book.

At first, the flashbacks to her past relationships confused me until I realized what was going on. After that, I felt that it really benefitted the story. The flashbacks are only a few pages, but it helped the reader understand Grey and Ryan's relationship from before their break up.

This was definitely a feel-good book that I would recommend to anyone that needs a romance.

Okay this one was so cute!!

💭Ryan has had bad luck with love. After being dumped by the love of her life, she spends the next several years comparing EVERY boyfriend to him-- Simultaneously making a list of "boyfriend musts". She wasn't supposed to see Grey again. But fate has other plans. Her and Grey are forced to spend a week together in very close proximity.

Okay this concept was so cute and I think Grace did a fantastic job writing it and planning it out. It was really fun to see the best thing that would be added to the list. But also to see Grey slowly break down all of Ryan's walls.

I absolutely ATE THIS UP. Grey is seriously a TOP NOTCH book boyfriend with all the swooniness you would expect... Honestly and more.

Definitely recommend adding this one to your TBR!

✨ Thank you so much to the author for my gifted copy. All thoughts are my own.

I absolutely loved this second chance romance.

I was fully invested from the beginning and it’s the type of story that keeps you wanting to know what happens next. I put the book down at night to go to bed, only to pick it back up 10 minutes later because I needed to know what happened next.

Grey and Ryan are so incredibly relatable. I felt like they were friends of mine and I really enjoyed how REAL this story felt. Their chemistry is undeniable and I was smiling everytime Grey opened his mouth. It was impossible not to love him.

The writing was fantastic and I really loved the format of this one. I wouldn’t necessarily call it dual timeline but it had chapters dedicated to Ryan’s ex boyfriends and why they weren’t the man for her (hence the title: The Ex List).

If you’re looking for a fun, quick, relatable story.l that makes you happy, definitely pick this one up!

Oh, boy!
What an adventure that was!

The plot: Grey and Ryan dated four years ago, they were young - each of them had their plans, and Grey did what he thought was best and broke up with Ryan, so she could go to Hawaii to pursue a degree in coastal engineering (which was a dream of hers). He deleted social media and blocked her number after that. It was unexpected for Ryan, but she had given up any chance to get closure from this situation, so she decided to move on and date other men. But none of them were Grey… Can one week change anything?

The only thing that changed my rating was the overly-sweet ending. I understood why it was this way, but still - I enjoy more realistic finales.

What I liked about the book:

1. the story. I liked how the author wrote out every one of Ryan's 6 exes, giving details on how their relationship went and why they broke up. To me, this was a great idea, because, in the end, we got a list of why Ryan did not settle with any of them. When she met Grey after 4 years and finally got to talk to him, we see, why she was so hung up on him. Their relationship was so deep, that he kind of read her thoughts and felt what she needed at the moment and in general in her life. This could only be described as finding one's soulmate, but the anger and feeling of betrayal required much effort from Ryan to forgive and forget. How she dealt with it - made a captivating story.

2. the characters. Although the story is mostly written from Ryan's perspective, I could still get a clear picture of Grey. So, both main characters are well-written, and it was interesting to find out how 2 such different people dated at some point. I also liked Ryan's friend Sage, her humor and sarcasm had me laughing throughout the book. The only thing that could have made the reading process easier and clearer to me would be the author writing more about Ryan's parents. She had such a strong fear concerning her mother, and I would have liked a little bit more details about Ryan's childhood maybe?

3. love scenes. There are not a lot of them, but they manage to show the chemistry and emotions between the main characters well. And they are not overly detailed, which is a good thing for me.

Content warnings: profanity, sexual scenes.

Overall opinion: It is a good story, full of romance and drama. It is well-written, easy to follow, and emotional. The narration is entertaining, humorous, and full of different events. So, if you love emotion-charged stories, but with happy endings - then definitely check this book out!

ARC REVIEW: I was lucky enough to receive an early e-copy of “The Ex List” from the author, Grace Pearce, with the request to provide an honest review. As always - thank you to the author for this opportunity!

Review below should be spoiler free:

3.75⭐️ rounded up to 4⭐️ as this is first second chance and slow burn I’ve read in a long time so took me a bit to get back into slow burn.

So going into this read I was a little bit nervous/cautious as I am usually NOT a second chance trope fan. But one of my reading goals this year is to expand the types of romance books I read and read more “new to me” authors.

That being said - I think I might have put “second chance” on my *not for me* trope list simply because one or two bad reads last year but now I think I have probably missed out on some really good reads because this was GOOD! I am definitely recommending it!!!

I really enjoyed this forced-proximity romance! The FMC, Ryan, is really likable in my opinion as she is realistic with her actions and feelings but not so realistic that the hopefulness/promised HEA I want from romance book is overshadowed.

Ryan is mid 20s, living in San Francisco with an amazing friend group and in a career field that she absolutely loves and is thriving in. She is also very much a math girl (yay women in STEM representation!!!!!) and thinks out real life problems like they are math equations.

As a very much NOT math person, I actually was surprised how much I related to Ryan’s thought process style. It was really neat to read that type of insight from a character as it was new to me (probably not new to everyone lol).

Pretty quickly into the book we are heading to a destination wedding with Ryan for one of her two best friends. It’s here we meet our MMC, Grey. Now I may already have a decent list of book boyfriends, but it is definitely one name longer now that I met Grey! 🥰 He is so golden retriever, sweetheart boy and I feel like a hug from him with a blanket enveloping us would solve like 90% of my problems.

Through only Ryan’s POV, we slowly learn the backstory of her and Grey as well as just how much he and the past breakup between the them really affected her. Ryan is desperately trying to avoid settling like her parents did (so relatable!!) and Grey was her perfect man but it seems he was also “right person, wrong time”.

I have previously thought only one POV hinders romance books because often it feels like an unreliable narrator or that there is too much missing as we don’t have the other part of the equation (like my little math analogy there;). & I’ll be honest - at first I WAS wishing we had Grey’s POV. I wanted to know his side of the sudden breakup, how he’s been, how it all may have affected him, and what he was feeling when he saw Ryan again for the first time.

BUT! I think the choice of one POV actually ended up working well once I kept reading. I slowly realized that this wasn’t just a story of Ryan and Grey but more so a story of Ryan learning her own truths and we as the reader were along for the self-discovery ride with her. Grace (author) did a great job of still giving us a little bit of insight into Grey without having his POV, as he was very honest and upfront with Ryan (and therefor us as well by extension). It made me less wanting of his thoughts because I felt as if he didn’t leave anything on the table that could be confused or misinterpreted. It became obvious that Grey was not as stuck as Ryan with his feelings and fears for the future and so I think not having his POV ended up not leaving as much out as you’d think. Plus, it made it more of Ryan’s story of embracing the unknowing leap that love is.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this read and recommend it to any contemporary romance reader (even those hesitant on second chance and slow burn). The flashbacks to Ryan’s post-Grey relationships were great insight into how much he meant to her and just how much he’s her soulmate. I really wanted to keep reading just so I could see how Ryan was going to open her heart again and to see Grey show her that he could be trusted again (ps his needing to be trusted is NOT from some big bad like cheating!)

LASTLY!! At the very end of the book there’s the usual “about the author” and there’s a line that says “Grace Pearce writes stories that strive to leave you with a smile”. I can say for sure she succeeded with that with “The Ex List” as I was smiling and felt like I myself went on a bit of “learning how it’s ok for not everything to be a perfect equation” just like Ryan.

Addt. things below:

Things I loved:
- the post breakup texts
- the tension
- Grey being absolute sweetheart
- Ryan’s girl group with Evie and Sage
- Pro woman exploring their sexuality and different relationship wants (kids/no kids, long term, monogamous, etc)
- Epilogue from Grey’s POV
- Ryan and Grey being mature and not giving up their career dreams
- Flower truck scene 😏😉
- just Grey 😍
- Elliot injecting humor into the story

Things I didn’t love as much:
- Not getting Grey’s POV with some moments
- I wanted more Sage (LOVE HER)
- Bit of a quicker progression in middle of book
- Less spicy scenes than I usually prefer (this is very much a personal preference so did not effect my rating)

I genuinely ate this book up! If you love second chance romance, slow burn with tension, forced proximity, found family, good banter, and spice that is *chefs kiss😚🤌🏼* then you’ll love this book! It’s on KU but also worth the money if you want to buy it🤭 Grey also might be one of my favorite romance book boyfriends at this point🙂‍↕️🤤

This book is an absolute MUST READ. It was soo well written. I loved every minute of it. Grey will forever be a fave MMC! It’s a slow burn but the tension is built soo nicely, you’re angsty for them to be together.

I cannot recommend this enough.

Thanks to Grace for the arc! You slayed.

I looooved this book so much. It felt so relatable, and I loved the slow burn and re-connection of the couple. There was some spice, but nothing overwhelming. This is a must read

I am still trying to wrap my head around how Grace effortlessly wrote a slow burn romance that takes place in only a week!...For the most part, there are flash backs that talk about their past so that does help to fill in most of their chemistry and comfort with each other.

I did check where to find this cinnamon roll she calls Grey, he's at the Fictional Man Store, aisle 2. That's next from Target, you're welcome!

Watching Ryan and Grey work through their issues and begin to trust each other was incredibly healing. Who knew with a little communication, that you can solve issues 🤯

I'm giving this book 4.5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

Ryan is excited to celebrate her best friend’s wedding. The groom tries to set her up with a friend of his, not knowing that Grey was Ryan’s ex boyfriend from college. She was the one who got away for Grey, and Ryan was still hurt from the lack of closure she received. So hurt, she compared every guy to him, making a list of why she broke up with each of them and how they didn’t compare to Grey. Grey is interested in a second chance, but after 4 years, will Ryan risk it?

This was such a cute and fun idea for a story! I loved Ryan’s angry, blocked texts to Grey. I also found the story so relatable despite the idea being unique. I am sure so many of us have been in a situation where a guy messes up and we tell ourselves that we know he’ll come back one day. I loved reading Ryan get that opportunity so I could live vicariously through her!

Grace Pearce completely melted my heart with this one! Ryan has been labeled by her friends as serial dater. After having her heart broken, these guys just aren't meeting her expectations. As a result, she keeps a running list of "I can't date a man who...". Where does she keep her list, you ask? In a text thread to the man who broke her heart and blocked her number. The Ex List will make you laugh, cry, and read all the way through in one sitting. I absolutely LOVED this book, and it has earned Grace a spot on my "if this author wrote it, I'm buying it no questions asked" list!
