Caught up in a scandal at work, Jasmine has one chance to save her fledgling career.
The only problem? The one person who can rescue her is the only person in the world who hates her, the man who broke her heart at the handsome and ambitious Ben Khan.
But Jasmine has always dreamt of changing the world for the better and she is determined not to let her dream go without a fight.
To win, she needs him on her side. Except Ben can’t forgive and Jasmine can’t forget.
Passion meets politics in this beautiful and emotional second chance romance. Hindsight is the second book in the Sisters of Larkford Hall contemporary romance series. If you like honourable heroines, poignant moments, and heartrending misunderstandings, then you’ll adore Hazel Hatman’s touching tale.
A former construction project manager, Hazel Hatman swapped hard hats and rainswept scaffolding for central heating, cosy toes, and copious amounts of cake. She now spends her days writing her heroines into trouble and then trying to dig them out.
Hazel loves romance. All kinds of romance: some funny, some emotional, some steamy, some not. All Hazel’s romances feature strong heroines clawing their way through the world and finding a soulmate on the way. Her first novel was The Darcy Dilemma, the start of the Sisters of Larkford Hall series.
She lives in Devon, England, a short walk from a bakery. She is married with three amazing children.
Book 2 in the Larkford sisters series. The books are inspired by Jane Austen's novels and book 1, The Darcy dilemma definitely has a contemporary Pride and Prejudice feel. This one follows Jasmine, the second oldest sister. She has always been interested in fighting for what is right and equality. She believes that you should be judged by your actions rather than who you know or how beautiful you may be. Roll on 5 years and Jasmine's career is taking off but circumstances change and someone from her past reappears. What will Jasmine do? I devoured this book. On the face of it, a romance but the characters are well drawn and it was really interesting to learn about grass roots politics. The story was woven together in a way that made me want to care about Jasmine and her friends. Looking forward to book 3.
Hazel Hatman does it again in her 2nd book about another Larkford sister, Jazmin. She is independent and is attracted to Petey but realizes her career is much more important so stops seeing him. She then goes to college and there meets Ben Kahn whom she falls madly in love with and he with her. Then her past life intrudes on her love affair and she must give up Ben in order to be with Petey. Not until 5 years later does she meet Ben again when she runs his political campaign; for political reasons she cannot go back to him. A sensible, wonderful book, very well written. I plan to read this book again. Recommend!
I had been looking forward to the next book in the Sisters of Larkford Hall series and this did not disappoint. Jasmine is a more complex character than Eleanor and she has a tough job balancing her fledgling career in politics, love and the demands of true friendship. From bleak to happy the book takes its reader on a rollercoaster of a story.
