As usual, Rose and Elvis are tasked with even more difficult things to do, in order to bring down the Mother of Witches, Mater Inferni.
Their biggest mission, is to find the Lantern of Truth, in order to discover exactly where the base of Mater Inferni, and her original Coven, is.
To do this, she and London, along with their Chimeras Elvis and Dolly,, would have to perform a set of assignments that will bring them much closer to death, than ever before.
But another job for them, is to get married!
Between the long list of duties that they both need to complete, Rose, and her Aunt, Liv, have also got the unenviable job, of returning Genevieve Beaufont, the very first Warrior to the House of Fourteen, back to her own time in History - but that won't be as easy as they'd hoped!
They have to do all of this, in between finding a potion to restore Rose's Mother, who has been caught up in the fight between the House of Fourteen , and the Witches and Wizards following Mater Inferni.
Both Rose and London also have to fight Mater Infirni's Second in Command, Gloom Weaver, who is doing her best to kill them, as they struggle to follow the clues they were given, in order to find the Lantern of Truth, while doing their best to stay alive, without the aid of their Magic!
Once again, a member of the Beaufont family has swept me away, and kept me riveted to their story, in this book. In fact, the whole series has done exactly this, as I followed along through so many of Rose's adventures, with her sidekick, Elvis.
I've absolutely fallen in love with the Beaufonts, just as they have all encouraged everyone they know, to chance doing exactly that and, with their Family motto "Familia Est Sempiternum", it's no surprise to me, that this would be their utmost goal!
Well, as it's now silly o'clock in the morning, yet again, it looks like I'll be finishing this review, then grabbing some sleep, before going on to the final book of this series, which is Book Twelve: " New Witch Order", some time later today.
I'm really sad that this is the last book of this series, but I'm also excited that Sarah Noffke is already writing another series about the Beaufont Family - this time, the series is called "The First Beaufont"!
So, leaving you with that teaser, I'll get on with some sleep, then to reading the last book of Rose's series - and then I'll catch you on the flip side, to let you know what I think of it!
One can find oneself completely sated and content after enjoying an absolutely perfect ending to a flawless episode in this latest installment in the lives of the Beaufonts while simultaneously feeling forlorn and desperate at the wait required before the next and final story in this series is released. It’s a conundrum of emotional opposites that it is truly a joy to suffer through. It’s the sign of good writing. And Sarah has it in spades.
And yet, oddly, my favorite part of the book was actually the authors’ notes. Having read many of these over the years, I have to say Sarah is typically far more open and vulnerable than most authors in hers. And the “feuding” between her and Michael Anderle is totally comic and utterly classic. Think sibling sniping at each other’s weak spots or perhaps vaudeville skits aired in America in the late 40’s and early 50’s only with a more modern sensibility and tone.
In this book’s notes, Sarah tossed out an idea that Mike then grabbed and RAN with. Mike absolutely stole the show this time. I mean this book is quite literally flawless (or very nearly so), but what I am going to remember most about it is the way Mike totally PWN’d Sarah in the authors’ notes. I imagine I hear him chuckling, chortling, snickering and occasionally snorting as he wrote this.
Sorry dear, you know I love you, but I have to give him this one. But I really DID love the book. It was awesomeness wrapped up in a nice digital package. And I really am on tenterhooks for the conclusion.
I love this series so much. Rose has grown so much in this series and been through so much as she has battled to take down the bad witches to save the day with her new found family members and friends and of course let’s not forget Elvis! It’s an exciting addition as Rose seeks the whereabouts of the Sovereign Shadow coven, to take down the Mater Inferni for one and for all and once started I just could not stop reading. Action, danger, drama, mystery, intrigue and some quirky one liners makes this highly addictive and I cannot wait for the final book!
London and Rose are.engaged. They take the witch books they have to the Great Librarian. Mother Earth tells them they need to marry in three days. They have to fix the time line the witches poked holes in. What more is.to do. Read and find out. Wow!
This book was the heart stopper for a while but it turned out just perfect. Hit me with the next one because you can never get enough of those Beaufont women. They are into everything and you worry you might miss something. I just hope I live long enough to read them all. Fantastic.
Congratulations to Sarah Noffke and Michael Anderle for this amazing series. It’s extremely hard to fid interesting and exciting authors who not only write intelligently but also provide top rated plots, characters and excitement in the stories. I’m really looking forward to the next book.
I absolutely loved this book. The only thing I thought was missing was Rose's mother. I have expected cliffhangers but that one sucked, other things could have become the cliffhanger and I totally expected it to be the ancestor.
Rose, London, Elvis and Dolly are going to be very busy!
They have to get ready for their wedding! Rose and Liv have to fix a hole in time. Rose and London have to figure out how to end the witches! Not going to say any more you will have to read to find out what happens!
Presumably, it is a 12 book series. That is too long. The last couple of books have situations that aren’t that important to the main story. Everything should’ve been brought to a conclusion before the 12th book.
With this series coming to a close in the next book it's good mews that the usual action & adventures will still happen. Beaufonts rule no matter what there doing and this does the usual drama with a touch of wholeness.
Yet another fantastic take from this brilliant series so much fun and lots of lovely food to go with the drama. Can’t stop need to read next instalment now. Enjoy
