Pack Companion #1

House of Omega

Rate this book
I AM WORTHY.

My stepbrother has my future mapped out. I’m going to be his pack’s companion when he bonds his omega next spring. As a beta, he’s tried to convince me it’s the best I can hope for, even if it includes duties with his pack that make me shudder.

But I want more. My dream job is to be a designer for House of Omega, the most elite luxury goods company in the world. But a ruined interview dashes my hopes, until a chance encounter with a beautiful male omega, Max. He needs my help securing a wealthy pack, and I suddenly find myself tangled up with the Rose Pack, the owners of House of Omega.

Because if they want to court Max, he insists I’m part of the package. I have my hesitations, not least of all because my stepbrother threatens to destroy anyone who dares to keep us apart. But my off-the-charts chemistry with Max convinces me to move into the Rose Tower, and soon I’m living and working with the wildly attractive Rose alphas.

Everything I’ve ever wanted seems to be in my grasp, especially when the lines between companion and mate start to blur. And when my stepbrother comes to claim me, I realize I don’t just want to fight to be Max’s plus-one.

I want to be the complete package.

But is there really a place for me in the House of Omega?

House of Omega is a standalone in the new Pack's Companion world. It's a spicy contemporary omegaverse with a poly/no one is left behind pack, meaning there are relationships between all the characters. It includes all the omegaverse delights of pack bonds, bites, messy heats, and alpha knots. There are NO shifters in this story. Check the TWs in the Author's Note.

I liked this book, I think I just wanted more. It’s a long book but it takes place only over like a week and one of the MMCs, Garth, is out of the country for over half the time. Like he spends Friday night and Saturday morning there when the book starts the previous Friday.

Because it’s such a short timeline, I didn’t feel that deep of a connection to any of the pack like I usually do in Roxy’s books. We have 4 alphas, an omega, and a beta which is a pretty big pack to get to know and I just missed basically any relationship building. It’s a very fast paced relationship which is normal with omegaverse so I don’t know what exactly is missing but something was for me.

Like half the pack has some sort of past trauma but we only get the bare minimum of it. Idkkkk. I liked it a lot but kind of wish there would be a second one about this pack.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

SPOILER!!!

The issues in this book were resolved or ignored in a very weak way.

I will name only one. The fact that her step-brother raped her physically abused her from a young age and yet was given what he wanted at the end in order for him to leave her alone is just deeply nauseating and horrifyingly a long term stain in my mind…making it the only thing that I think of when the book drifts through my mind.

This felt very similar to Lola and the Millionaires but lacked a lot of depth. Characters didn’t feel very defined and I wanted more nuance to them.

3.5

This was very fast paced and the relationships developed pretty quickly. I liked the story and the characters I just wish there was more of it. Although everything happened pretty quickly, it didn’t feel rushed but I still wish we got to see the relationships develop a bit more. There was also a lot of back story and side plots that I wish we saw more of. They fell into the background and sometimes were completely forgotten.

If this was longer or split into two parts, I think I would have really loved it. It was a very cozy read with a pinch of angst. The whole pack was with everyone but this story does centre around the FMC, Grace. I liked how it was still centred around Grace, but we got to see how the other relationships work/develop. I personally don’t care if it is obvious if the main character gets a lot of the attention but it is nice getting to see that everyone is cared for and how well the dynamics work.

A very fun read, I just wish there was more of it.

I got this book for review on booksirens.

I absolutely adored the bond that was formed between the female beta and the male omega, just to see theirs friendship and romance form and that it felt like they went into the why choose with the alphas was epic. Havnt read a romance with that thrope. I don't know if its called something or it just exist in this book but I loved that. The plot was good and I really enjoyed how the conflicts and problems where handled and the third act didn't go the way insuspected it too, which I was very happy about. Liked all the people in the why chose romance.

House of Omega is a standalone.

I immediately fell for Grace and Max and was so invested in their relationship throughout the entire book. Roxy Collins seriously impressed me with how she wrote their relationship making it stand out to the others which is so unusual.

Grace is our FMC and I would class Max as the other main character. Even though we do see the Rose pack alphas’ point of views, Grace and Max definitely felt like the main characters.
Grace is a beta (love the beta worthy trope) and she’s had a hard life so far with her abusive step father and step brother. I felt like I immediately made a connection with her and I can’t even pinpoint why but it could be her quiet inner strength. To go through what she has and still be standing and smiling takes enormous strength. She’s on her way to an interview for the position of designer for the company House of Omega when on a bus she meets Max. A male omega who immediately just makes you swoon. His and Grace’s relationships - chef’s kiss. Like honest to god perfection! I love how Roxy Collins portrayed Max, he wasn’t a stereotypical male omega. Which again I liked because to be honest I’m not a huge fan of omegaverse.

Daniel - the first alpha we meet and let’s just say I was not impressed with him at first. The first meeting we get with him and Grace immediately made me dislike him. But after that meeting he was completely different, apologised and I did really like him after that point. He’s the enforcer of the pack, a lawyer, super protective of Grace and gives this whole bad boy vibe but is really a softie.

Richard - so we learn something about Grace and Richard but the way we see him deal with makes him seem a bit standoffish and doesn’t exactly make him appeal to us but once it’s explained why, I completely get it. He’s in charge of the designer department.

Joshua - sweet Joshua, I immediately liked him. He’s the youngest and most charming of the pack and it definitely shows. Super considerate to Max and Grace. He’s great.

Garth - the alpha of the pack, very intense when we first him (like SUPER intense) and I was very wary of him to begin with but he melts for Max and Grace which I loved since I’m not a huge fan of super alpha males. So overall for the Rose pack alphas I didn’t like any of them at the beginning - except for sweet Joshua - and thought I wouldn’t forgive them but they all made up for it (some more slowly than others). I won’t say anything more about the characters but I feel like this gives you a good insight.

When I swiped the next page and it was the epilogue I was like: what it’s close to finishing?! I definitely wanted more and to spend more time with these characters.

The plot mainly focuses on the development of the pack and the obstacles, I felt like everything was resolved by the ending but like I said above I did just want a bit more time with them.

Once I read House of Omega I immediately went back to the beginning and started a re-read. Yes, I loved the book that much. I actually told people to stop talking to me so I could read it.

This book has triggering content such as mild violence, PTSD, mention of previous childhood trauma/ parental abuse, abuse from step sibling and his pack (not romantic love interests) including stalking, emotional abuse and previous sexual assault/ rape.

Thank you for giving me this arc in exchange for an honest review!

I gobbled this book up. It was SO GOOD. The different men felt strong on their own with clear characters, they didn’t get muddled as they sometimes do. The spice is hot, love Max and Grace together. I wished we got more of Daddy Garth and that he had been including earlier on in the book, but otherwise a perfect read.

Wow. When I tell you I DEVOURED this book…
🌹🌹🌹
I love feisty omegas who will do anything for their beta girls. And Max will make you swoon. He is heartfelt and genuine and not afraid to do what it takes to make Grace his forever.
Grace has had a hard life with her piece of garbage stepbrother looming over everything she does. However with Max by her side maybe she can learn to let go and fall in love along the way.
The Rose’s (Richard, Daniel, Joshua, and Garth) are an alpha pack looking to court Max and hopefully bond him, which he has no interest in unless Grace is part of the package.
This is my first Roxy Collins read. I loved this take on omegavese society and all of the intricacies that go along with it.

I only have one “complaint”: that there isn’t more. I would love to spend more time seeing this pack come together, the ending felt a bit rushed and didn’t really give you the time to enjoy the pack fully bonding. I think that the time for having the bonds settle and how the group interacts with them adds a lot of depth to the characters but individually and as a group.

It's basically the same as Lola & the Millionaires by Kathryn Moon, but still enjoyable. I just think that the story was cut off and that there was so much more to tell.

WHAT DID I READ. no no no, you don’t fall in love and change your whole life for someone you met 15 MINUTES AGO ON A BUS.

the relationship dynamics were hard to understand and follow - and there was MINIMAL talks of boundaries. the plot was also meh???????? she was abused by her brother and then peaced out and then it’s just the threat of him getting to her? BORING. the designations were also hard to follow - HOW CAN YOU BE AN ALPHA IF YOU CANT TURN INTO A WOLF. lets see some shifting!!!!! thx

(yes tori i finished the whole thing + it wasn’t good)

Good but

Why through an omega in thats going to feel like an afterthought. A good omegaverse should have equality with all members and you just dont get tbat with this book. Max just seems like a convenient additional to make it so Grace can be the real star of the pack. Would have been better to shown both of them getting to know the alphas since they are both new. The drama of the stepbrother wasnt explored well enough either

I don’t know why, but I had in my mind that this was a dark omegaverse. It’s really not. I’d been avoiding it, as I haven’t been in a dark romance mood. But it was just what I was looking for.

This story captivated me! It’s been a few months since I read a book that kept me up too late because I didn’t want to put it down, but this one did! It was so good!

I love that the FMC is a beta, although I thought she had a few too many ‘doesn’t usually happen to beta’ moments. Between her extra strong sense of smell, and her mates situation, I kept expecting it to turn into a late-blooming omega situation. It didn’t, which was fine, I love her as a beta, but she was a bit too outside the norm, it made it feel like being a regular beta wouldn’t have made her attractive enough.

But besides that, I absolutely LOVE her with Max! That level of obsession and devotion, so fun! They had such an amazing relationship.

I loved how each of the alphas had their own thing to be insecure or unsure about, especially the pack alpha. It was a beautiful discover process. Daniel’s quick 180 in how he treated the FMC was surprising, but great. I loved his protectiveness, especially before they were pack.

Overall, this story had a lot of my favorite things: why choose (not just RH), traumatic backstory for the FMC, protective MMCs, right MMCs, and of course, a HEA! It has a lot of the same vibes as Lola and the Millionaires, but with enough nuance to make it a separate story. And Lola is my all time favorite omegaverse, so it was a treat to get to read something new that felt comfortingly familiar.

Highly recommend!!

The second half of the book felt so much more rushed than the first half.

It also felt really weird to have so much focus in the beginning on discrimination against betas, and then have it not mentioned for the rest of the book. In the beginning we see how society devalues betas on multiple levels. We see how companies don't even consider betas for certain jobs. The FMC goes in for an interview for the MMCs' company, it's emphasized to us that they won't even consider a non-alpha for the design position, FMC gives a little speech about how discriminating against betas is dumb and how other companies don't do it, and then... nothing. No later follow up on this. It would've been nice to have some throw away line on how they don't discriminate anymore but no, no resolution. Maybe some acknowledgement from even one of the MMCs that their "Alpha Only" policy is fucked up. But I guess we're supposed to assume the MMCs are still devaluing betas other than the FMC??

I read this in one night. This book now has a special place in my heart. I honestly wish it was a series, it’s that good. It’s not a perfect book by any means; more fluff than plot. But I very much enjoyed it for sure. It rivals Kathryn Moon’s Sweetverse!

Popped up as a Goodreads rec, but one I initially brushed off because of the cover, then went back and read the rest of the blurb when I caught Beta. I much prefer the when the FMC is a beta with an omega ride or die. This was sweeter than expected, given the step-brother's initial intro. He was dealt with surprisingly easy for someone that owned half the city.

Grace was strong despite that, gutted she had a bad first intro to the house and Richard, especially the lawyer shut down. I thought I'd walked into a bully one. Max was probably the only silver lining, sweet, strong and all in. From there you had Daniel making amends, Joshua and lastly Garth.

There was the stupid moment of the voicemail. I'm glad that didn't end badly or in a third act breakup. Curious about Sally. The uber alpha thing was new. I liked that even the alphas weren't at the top of the pack chain. The end opened up for Jasmine's story, looking forward to that. It was a fun one that kept trauma mostly light.

This book is fine. I’m not entirely sure what short circuited my brain into choosing it. I specifically avoid books with beta heroines and male omegas. No hate to those that love those dynamics I just don’t like it, personally. The intrusive thoughts won and I ended up reading this. It’s fine. I didn’t hate it. I don’t love it. It’s just the blandest definition of “it’s fine.”

I’d class this a medium burn. It takes much longer for one alpha to come around because reasons. The main alpha doesn’t show up *in person* til the last quarter of the book. We see him on video chat a few times but I think having him be out of town until the end was a bad move.

There is OM drama. The h has a stalking stepbrother who regularly SA’d her before she met up with the omega and eventually this pack. The OM clearly doesn’t want to let her go but he’s handled pretty easily.

There’s no cheating, no sex on page that doesn’t involve the harem. The main alpha used to use an escort service because reasons but he cancelled the arrangement as soon as their pack met these two. I’d call this mostly a pretty safe read.

“Today’s assignment: channel the tension prickling between the four of us into something more productive for a newly-forming pack. Another sheet-soaking orgasm, anyone?”.

Roxy Collins did it again.
To be honest I was a bit worried because of the rejected mate trope. But let that doesn’t hold you back because it was absolutely perfect.
I couldn’t put the book away.

I love how fluffy her books make me feel. The falling in love made me so happy. I can’t get enough and the only reason I took out half a star is because I wanted it to be dragged out a bit more so we could see more of the relationships.

If you love the omegaverse world with reverse haren this is a must read.

✨ Such a great Omegaverse read. Totally gave me Lola & Millionaires vibes. It's unique in the way the author creates her Omegaverse world to include soulmate and scent bonds... Oh and let's discuss uber Alphas. Fanning myself...

This is not your average omegaverse book at all! It is an RH with MM content so be aware of that right off the bat. Potential triggers so please read them! Like her other books, Roxy really knows how to change up the typical omegaverse stories. This time, she definitely threw in some new unique things that I loved. It features a beta named Grace. And no she isn't going to suddenly discover she's an omega or wish she was. She's confident in her designation. She's ready to take the fashion world by storm. But first she needs to escape her evil stepbrother. She finds that escape when she meets Max and in turn she meets the Rose Pack (Garth, Daniel, Joshua and Richard). Things aren't always easy. But they work through it and come together in a beautiful way. I honestly can't pick a favorite character. They were all good! And the spice! So good! Another fantastic story!

I could not put this down! It has two running plots and while the outcome of both were anticlimactic, the build up was the sweetest kind of torture. This has so much day to day that’s important to the development of the story and the character’s relationship that I knew immediately I never wanted this to end. I enjoyed every moment we got to spend with these characters because it was hot, fun, and they were so lovable. I think this could have benefited from having Richard’s POV way earlier. But otherwise this was a great and really well done male OV with a female Beta in the pack.

I friggin love this authors take on omegaverse. The way she adds new and intriguing twists to the designations and the stories she produces.

This was incredible. I adore our beta FMC. The struggle she endured and how determined she is to survive.

I love her relationship with her omega and how she slowly builds with the alphas that are courting them both. The relationship between omega and beta is just so heartwarming.

I love the twists in this book. It kept me guessing and gasping! I honestly wanted to just keep reading about their lives after everything. I’m so invested in their happily ever after. This was such a great read.

This pack is everything! And I couldn't put the book down, so many twists and turns. One minute I was anxious, then happy, then crying. I love when an author can really engage you into the characters to form an emotional connection to them!

Grace is a Beta with a troubled past. With a controlling step-brother she just need to escape and find herself. When an opportunity arises she takes it but meets some amazing men along the way. She is strong and holds her own. The spice was chef's kiss! Super delicious but tasteful. The heat scene was everything you could think of!
Tropes:
• abusive past - hurt/comfort
• rejected mate
• omega soulmate
• scent matching
• nesting and knotting
• possessive & protective pack
• beta is worthy

Spice 4/5

Wish I could give this book more than 5 stars! I voluntarily left an arc review, thank you to the author for the opportunity!

Grace hadnt had it easy in life and all she dreamed of was to become a designer for the House of Omega, when shes on her way to the interview she meets Alpha Max, a spark ignites between them but when her interview doesnt go to plan, she finds Max has another way in for her. the Rose pack Richard, Daniel, Joshua, and Garth want Max in their pack but he will only consider it if Graces is part of the deal too. well written steamy scenes, Poly, desires Alphas, and more.
