I must confess that I am the author of this book, which has just been published. It is my autobiography, covering the period between 1947, when I came to the U.S. from Israel (then Palestine) to pursue higher education, until 1992, when some of my artworks were exhibited in two museums in my native land. The book tells the story of my long years of studies in America, where I earned four university degrees, including two in law, only to realize that my true calling was art. It traces my development as a woman and as an artist, revealing my thinking in creating some of my series of artworks about the human condition, including the Vietnam war and the Holocaust. The story is told against the backdrop of the important historical events of the time. My book should be of interest to those wishing to understand the maturation of a young woman and her growth from dependence to independence, to those interested in higher education in America, including art education, to those curious about the artist's thinking in creating art, to those eager to learn about the background of the current Arab-Israeli conflict and to those who simply want to read a good story.
