This is definitely one of my favourites in this series, even though for the first bit of the book I was approaching the "I want to knock your heads together" stage with Jax and Arlo!

Both of them have been in love with the other for years, but pining and not thinking the other one has any feelings for them. Fortunately, it never becomes painfully annoying and RJ doesn't leave it hanging too long before she drops the bombshell mentioned in the Blurb.

Watching these two navigate their fledgling romance, deal with the baby and the confirmation of Jax's twin brother is very much alive, if still missing, and then Arlo dealing with the loneliness of his younger brothers being away at college, is an exercise in heart-warming moments that make you go awwww.

The book's medium steamy, but it's very sweet and swoony as well, there's plenty of decent conversations, lots of humour, and enough tension kept on the boil by what's going on with Zach and his mysterious friend Kai (who'll be coming to a series near you next year!)

We also get to catch up with Leo and the rest of the Byrne family and I adore them all so much, they're everything you'd ever hope to have in a bunch of people who love you unconditionally.

The cover is absolutely fabulous and perfectly shows the kind and gentle Arlo, with baby Charlie, and it demonstrates wonderfully the emotionally satisfying story inside the pages.

If you're looking for a book to while away a few festive hours, this one delivers on all fronts.

#ARC kindly received from the author in return for an honest and unbiased review

3.5 stars, rounded up. This is the 7th book in this series, and while it could be read as a standalone, I think reading this series in the correct order would add to the enjoyment.

Jax is Leo's younger brother (all the siblings were adopted as children), and owns a construction company. He also has a long-lost biological twin brother, Zach, for whom he's been searching for some time.

Arlo works for Jax, and has for some time. He raised his two younger brothers to adulthood after their parents passed, when he was only 19ish, but both brothers are now in college and Arlo is a bit lonely.

Both Jax and Arlo have feelings for each other, but both are too dang scared to act on them or even discuss them.

Then Jax finds a baby boy on his door step who looks just like him. Turns out that Charlie, the adorable baby, is Zach's kid, but Zach is in some kind of trouble driving him underground, so he asks that Jax take care of Charlie.

There were some frustrating moments in this book, mostly because neither Arlo nor Jax appear to have the testicular fortitude to just have an honest and open conversation about HOW THEY FEEL for each other, especially since everyone else has long clued in to the romance that wants to be. Both are too afraid to rock the boat and upset the friendship, and neither can fathom that the other is pining just as badly. Men, amirite? LOL

But they do eventually get their respective heads out of their respective rear ends, and the romance is quick to grow thereafter.

Loved how Jax's family provides unwavering support, no matter what, and how Arlo's brothers finally get a clue as well that their little plan, while understandable, didn't quite take Arlo's feelings into consideration. Assumptions and all that...

I'm not entirely sure what the miracle was here, other than that Jax finally gets to meet his twin brother. The author does a rather nice job with her characters; they are well developed and multi-dimensional, and so very likable.

Overall, would recommend this book, especially if you're a fan of the series. Quite a lovely way to spend some time with these folks again.

The next book is all about Zach, and hopefully that will explain some of what he does and how he got into the mess he seems to be in. Soon, I hope.

What an interesting story, and so sweet! I love this series and, like the previous books, this one will bring a smile to your face. Jax and Arlo are so good together, and when their relationship changes from friends to lovers, their chemistry burns up the pages. It's full of emotions with the feisty Jax, and the gentle Arlo, on whom I immediately staked a claim (that cover!!!). He's so yummy and dreamy. The addition of Charlie definitely improves the story, he's such a sweet natured little one, I loved how he bonded with both Jax and Arlo. It really is a joyful read: all about family, cosy, warm-hearted and romantic, the narrative is, on the whole, (although there is mention of loved ones passing away), light, witty, and thoroughly enjoyable, told with warmth and humour. It certainly made me smile.

A delight. I really liked the juxtapositions this book provides. Not only Jax with his new baby but also Arlo with his empty nest. The calm happy baby moments with Charlie and the stress that comes with the mystery of Zack. It was engaging and fun and also calm. Quite an interesting book!

Darum geht’s:

Meine Meinung dazu gibt’s hier

G’ah! Arlo and Jax and baby Charlie have me all up in my feels. What a fabulous, heart-warming, family-centric novel; perfect for feel-good, Christmastime reading.

And can I just say how perfect the cover is? Arlo and Charlie to perfection.

I also loved all the side characters — Trace and Sutton (& Panda the cat), the whole Byrne clan and Zach. Can’t wait for Shadow Team book 3 to learn more about him.

With a little intrigue, a little pining, and a whole lot of love, Scott once again proves why she’s an auto-buy for so many folks.

I’m embarrassed to admit I was at chapter 7 before I clued in that Jax’s sibling and friends were stars of the first few single dad’s books. This, however, gave me the perfect excuse to sit down and re-read the series all together. Single dads for the win!

5 delightful stars.

Arlo and Jax are both clueless about each others feelings.
Which makes their journey adorable and to some extent frustrating.
As I'm reading I'm mumbling , "come on guys! Figure it out! Lets get to the snuggling and kissing and all around adorableness".
RJ always writes a well rounded, hot, sexy ,loving , adorable and satisfying story.
Throughout the book I felt sadness, fear, intense happiness, and at one point Arlo and his brothers made me tear up.
I adore Arlo and Jax and how they take care of each other. Jax has an adorable house guest and his family is amazing!
I don't want to give anymore away so I'm going end this review.
This is a wonderful story with amazing characters. I look forward to reading Zach's, Jax's twin, story soon.

5/5 construction bears.

Great addition to the Single Dads Series but not without its issue. Overall, I thought the story was a sweet, fun and a mostly happy read. All the characters are great and I instantly felt a connection to them. My one quibble is with the addition of Zach, because he will be getting his own book sometime in the future I wish his involvement in this one was a bit less. I found myself focusing on his issues more than I'd like since there is no conclusion to his drama.

In saying that, I really did enjoy this story!

● Holiday/Christmas
● Best friends to lovers
● Long time hidden feelings for both men
● These guys needed to learn the art of communication
● Long lost twin's sweet baby
● Becoming an instant "dad" again
● Super sweet
● Made me smile
● Made me chuckle
● Made me teary
● Made me want to smack the MCs LOL
● Great family
● First times
● Not filled with on page sex
● Loved the MCs... Jax & Arlo
● Not an unsatisfying ending but I was left feeling a bit frustrated because of Zach
● Could be read as a stand-alone but I wouldn't it works best read in series order
● Looking forward to Zach's story

A wonderful read with all the feels.
I love this series, so my expectations were very high....and this book didn't disappoint.

I love the relationship between Arlo and Jax. It was heart warming following along as they realised how they felt about each other.

The way RJ writes you really get pulled along in their story and you feel all their emotions with them. What I found especially fantastic in this book was all the secondary characters: they all had purpose to the story and made you love them too.

This is in my top 3 favourite reads of the year. I finsied it in 1 sitting as I just couldn't put it down. Highly recommend.

a heartwarming romantic story but some issues too

Rating: 3.5🌈

Miracle marks the end of R.J. Scott’s Single Dad’s series, a group of loosely related stories about single fathers and their journey to a romantic relationship and family life.

This finale novel is definitely more of a standalone story than some of the books earlier on in this series. Those books were adhering to the series theme, see below:

“Introducing the single dads of La Jolla, and the first responders they fall in love with.
From surrogacy to adoption and everything in between, this series of books follows the highs and lows of being a single father.
For these men finding love might seem impossible but sometimes it's as easy as meeting the doctor next door, finding the firefighter who makes you feel beautiful, or learning that a cop can be trusted to keep you safe.”

But that’s pretty much been left behind by Listen Book 5 as the main characters have other professions as careers and different types of issues to work through.

There’s several main themes or narrative components to Miracle, only two of which are well developed. The main characters, Jax and Arlo work together in Jax’s construction business. Both are secretly in love with each other but are unable to approach each other about their feelings, even though they’ve known each other for a long period of time.

Jax has a complicated past. He’s adopted (great adopted family) but he’s a twin and has hunted for that twin since he found out about his existence. Arlo has raised his siblings since the unexpected death of his parents, giving up his own dreams to help them grow up and achieve their own.

Those are two great storylines by themselves. And Scott’s narrative dives deep to explore the emotional layers that exist within a person who is still dealing with issues of grief, loss, frustration over the past, and acknowledging that the change of dreams for oneself that happens when you devote your own life to your family. This is where the book and characters feel grounded and believable. Each man and their respective families feel real.

The pathway to a romantic relationship is a tad frustrating for me as I value communication highly, especially between adults and adults who have a long history with each other, in the books I’m reading. When there’s excessive dithering of the “tell him you care, he doesn’t care, yes , he does “ variety, then it’s hard to go forward.

Luckily, Scott throws in a third element here to push the reader through. That’s the appearance of Zach’s baby , Jax’s missing twin brother little boy. The little baby is adorable and he’s the glue that pulls the main characters together and, honestly, the story as a whole. But he’s also part of the story’s issues. Or his father is.

Because the entire “Zach is the father” aspect of the story is just a mere mention here and there. A throwaway line or two, along with the mysterious Kai, his partner. What we do know is that they leave the baby’s status legally in a shaky state. It never stated who is the actual guardian, who has rights to this child. Zach pops in, and out. The baby calls Arlo and Jax papa and Daddy both as they are his stable home figures but also as Zach wants his enemies to think they are his parents. It’s never said that they are now legally so because Jax couldn’t go on record about how he got him.

This entire thread is just needs more context, or thought, or something. And it leaves me feeling as though it was intentionally vaguely written because the author has a new series out and Zack and Kai’s story is book 3. So this narrative was left with holes to lead towards that one. A formula I can do without.

To wrap up, Miracle (Single Dads Book 7) by R.J. Scott has some good heartwarming elements to it as the finale book. The main characters get a lovely romance that includes a baby and meshing of two families. However, there’s an odd other aspect to this with a mysterious twin brother and his partner that really doesn’t work. It feels exactly what it is, a preview for a new series and story to come instead of a well developed part of this book.

Another sweet story to add to the series. Jax and Arlo are so amazing. To watch them together when dealing with the baby showing up on the front doorstep and finally figuring out their feelings for one another. This was a read that gave you the feels, and you went through all the emotions with them. Jax and Arlo are perfect for each other and I loved watching them together.

MIRACLE is a sweet, heartfelt, found family, m/m romance.

Jax was adopted as a child and has found out that he has a biological twin. He has felt the need to find his brother, Zach, for years but always just seems one step behind him. Jax owns a construction company and that's where he met his best friend, Arlo. Jax finds himself attracted to Arlo and wants more with him but is scared it will ruin the friendship. He has had partnership papers drawn up for months but wants his feelings for Arlo known before he offers a partnership in the company. He would like a partnership in all aspects of life with Arlo. When Arlo and Jax arrive at Jax's house and find a baby waiting, they don't know what to think. Accompanying the baby's things is a letter from Zach asking Jax to take care of Charlie, who is Zach's son, until he can come back and get him.

Arlo raised his two younger brothers when their parents died. He gave up his dreams to raise them and never thought twice about it. Sutton and Trace mean everything to him. When he started working with Jax, he was instantly attracted to him and loved the friendship they developed. He's terrified to tell Jax how he really feels but loves their Friday night sleepovers at Jax's house. With his brother's help, he tells Jax he has a date from an app. Does he want to date? No, but he needs to get himself out there and tell Jax how he truly feels. Then those plans are put on the back burner when Jax's nephew shows up and needs Jax. Of course, that means that Arlo will do everything he can to help Jax with Charlie.

I loved watching Jax and Arlo open up to each other and find out they were feeling the same feelings. They so easily fell into a ready-made family with Charlie. It was very heartwarming with a dash of suspense with the addition of Zach and his goings-on. I am super interested in going to read that series to get the full story!

Since it's Christmas I will keep this review a little shorter than usually, short, sweet, and to the point . . . nothing wrong with that😉.

As I've said with every entry in this amazing RJ Scott series, I find nothing sexier than men who care for kids, be it their own, a nIece/nephew, sibling, or any number of found family scenarios. Once again, Miss Scott did not disappoint.

In Miracle we see not only a single dad but also a man who stepped up and raised his siblings after losing their parents in a plane crash, and to complete the trifecta, the single dad also finds a package on his doorstep in the form of his long-lost twin's little boy, Charlie. I seriously think my heart exploded with all the yummy feels.

As much as I adored all the caring-for-kids feels in Miracle what really stood out was the fact that one of the men was a "bit soft in the middle". Arlo is an active man who just doesn't happen to have the too-often-used-in-fiction six pack. For me it's that "average-ness" of the character that pushes this series entry from great to brilliant.

Another thing about Arlo that really spoke to me was how his brothers see what he did as sacrificing his happiness and future to fill their parents shoes after their passing but to Arlo it was never about sacrificing or duty. He wanted to keep them together, would he have given anything to not be in that position with their parents untimely death? Of course, but he never saw it as giving anything up. As an only child and my mom's 24/7 caregiver, I've had people think I sacrificed my wants and needs but I have never felt that way, not once in the 30 years since I stepped into the caregiver role, I never felt it was a duty either, it was and still is where I want to be and like Arlo I'd give anything for my mom not to need me but knowing what I do keeps my parents together in their own home is more than enough to know I am where I need to be and RJ Scott does a wonderful job showing both sides of those thoughts through Arlo and his brothers interactions with Jax. A small moment in the men's journey in terms of page time but a huge factor for this reader. So for that, another huge Kudos and Thank You to RJ Scott.

There is just so much love in this story, from family to friends, to finding the courage to open your heart, Miracle really is all about the love.

4/5 I really liked Jax and Arlo, apart from wanting to knock their heads together for not actually talking to one another, lol. A bit of the hesitancy was understandable given that there is a boss/employee relationship, but it’s also clear they’ve blurred those lines a lot with friendship already. But people do make things complicated all the time when they could be simple, lol. I really enjoyed once they started actually communicating and believing in themselves. I liked how body positive Jax was.

Baby Charlie’s appearance was definitely an adventure. He is totally adorable and absorbs a lot of the care and attention of Jax, Arlo, and Jax’s family. It’s wonderful to see him so supported and accepted despite the strange circumstances.

I will say that it often felt a little bit like Jax wasn’t otherwise a parent. I know he totally is, but it takes until 44% of the book to explain that his twin girls are in Paris on a trip with their Mom and her partner. Until then, we know Jax has shared custody, but there is zero interaction. We do get a few scenes after that, but it was like I couldn’t quite shake the early impression of almost no involvement.

There were also three odd statements, such as Jax thinking, “Maybe we were fraternal twins? That was a thing, right?” As a father of twins, would he not be well aware of the two twin types?

“Anyway, didn’t a baby’s eye color change?” I guess this didn’t happen with his own children?

“It makes me think about what it would be like to have a child of my own, y’know, adopting or surrogacy.” But not like the two children he already has? I guess this is maybe his roundabout way of saying *with Arlo*, but it just clunked with me.

Otherwise, I did appreciate that we had neither a villainous ex-wife nor new ex-wife’s partner. Plus I loved Arlo’s relationship with his brothers, where they all clearly cared so much but didn’t always express it in a perfect way. There are so many positive representations of different types of family in this series (and especially in this novel), and I really valued that.

I’m really glad the boys stopped pining and figured things out. I would have liked to get more resolution with Zach and Charlie, but that is presumably coming up in Zach’s book. :)

Miracle Is the 7th book in the Single Dads series by R.J. Scott. This book has a tie-in with a book in her Shadow Team series in which the third book will be released in 2024. It's not mandatory for this one, but trust me, you will want to read it.

Jax is an adoptee. He was adopted young by loving parents and has a loving family of other brothers and a sister who are also adopted. He is also obsessed with finding his twin brother he had no idea existed until later in life. He owns his own construction company and is successful. He hires Arlo on the spot and falls in love with him. Arlo lost his parents while he was in college. He has to drop out in order to take care of his younger brothers. He gets a job in Jax's construction business and falls in love with him. While they tiptoe around each other, finding the courage to confess, Jax comes home and finds a baby on his steps. The baby is his nephew. Together, Jax and Arlo take care of the baby and fall in love with him.

Arlo was such a teddy bear. He was a very relatable character. He was so worried about his little bit of extra weight; all he wanted was for his siblings to be happy. And Jax was super sweet as well. Arlo and Jax were a nice couple, and I kind of wish we saw them do more coupley stuff.

I loved this book. The romance was very sweet, and the drama with Zach kept me on edge. I love how supportive the whole family was and the fact we saw previous characters and how they all tied together. Jax was adorable with his nephew and his girls. I wish we did get more content with Jax and his girls, maybe a couple more phone calls or something. However, this story is shoved into a pretty small timeframe. This was my favourite book of the series so far, despite the fact I seem to have rated them all the exact same. It definitely makes me want to do a reread of the series and maybe start the Shadow Team series.

This is a marvelous romance and formation of a family tale ! San Diego, CA area.
Jaxon runs his Construction Company, and Arlo works for him, for three years now. They love each other, but do not want to ruin the relationship, of BFFs and employer/employee.

Jaxon/Jax, 30s, ginger with long hair,

has a twin brother, Zach, he has searched for. He's divorced and has twin daughters, 6, India and Iris.
Arlo, 30, a cuddly, salt-n-pepper haired,

bear of a man, 6'5," strong, muscled works hard, dropped out of college and raised his two brothers after their folks died, and Trace and Sutton are in college now.
His cat is "Panda."

We begin with unrequited love, and a mystery on Jax's doorstep, a baby ! There is a note that explains it all, and Arlo pitches in immediately, giving Jax the help he needs. They tell their families, and after awhile, finally tell each other of their feelings.

Little Charlie, 9 months old, is a gem, and the men are happy to care for him. Our men's bond is deep, even though they've avoided getting too close, but they are perfect together, plus their sizzling sexy times are a long awaited, filled with passionate emotions, too.

Later we see how great their life is going to be, and then the mysterious Zach shows up, wounded and worn out. The twins are like looking in a mirror, but Zach's red hair is short, and Zach has quite a story to tell, and then another mystery ensues.

The book can stand alone, but I hope we get another book soon, to unravel the whole mystery.

ENJOY !

Falling In Love Plus Baby And Holidays

Jax has tried to find his twin brother Zack for years but he's missed him when he'd gone looking. Now, when he gets home from work one evening he finds a baby and a note. Charlie is seven months old and is clearly related to Jax. Arlo, Jax's best friend and his crush he hasn't admitted he likes to Arlo is there with him. Jax is for sure shocked but with Arlo's help and his adoptive family they help take care of Charlie.

Arlo raised his brothers after their parents died and now that they off at college he's kind of lonely. Helping Jax take care of Charlie is something he wants to do. He also can finally ad.it his feel it for Jax and vise versa one evening.

I loved this so much. The holidays Thanksgiving and Christmas. The family love that Jax shares with his adoptive family is so wonderful. Loved hos brothers Leo and Reid plus we do get some info on Zack who thankfully is not dead like I'd worried. Really glad that Zack has a book too book three in the Shadow Team trilogy by R.J.

Arlo and his brothers have a conversation about things that needed to be said thanks to Jax. Love their relationship as well and the convo wasn't bad just two brothers wanting to help their big brother but going about it the wrong way even tho was out love.

The moments with Charlie were adorable. I wanted more with Jax and his daughters though. I know they live with their mom (no drama thankfully on that front) but wanted more of them. Great book a 4.5 but had mark as 4 on here since no half stars. The ending was awesome so adorable.

Also loved the body positivity going on with Jax telling Arlo he thought he was perfect when multiple times Arlo thought otherwise because he wasn't chisled abs. The love and touching to show it didn't matter made me swoon.

Another lovely story in the Single Dad’s series with gorgeous MC’s, plenty of chemistry, lots of interesting characters, some we have met in previous books in the series, and an adorable baby.

Jax is in a funk. His marriage is over and he shares custody of his twin six year old daughters. His sex life is non existent and he throws all his energy into his construction business and trying to find his twin who he was separated from in foster care when they were very small. Oh and he has a secret crush on his employee Arlo, a big bear of a man who he has become best friends with.

Arlo is a lovely guy, big and with a big heart to match. When his parents were killed in an accident he rushed home from college to look after his two younger brothers so they were not put into care, giving up his dream of becoming an architect. Instead he got a job at Jax’s construction company where over the years he has become close friends with Jax, oh and he has a secret crush on Jax.

Turns out everyone else is in on their secret and their families are encouraging them to talk to each other.

They return to Jax’s home one day to find an abandoned baby boy in a car seat on the porch. Turns out the baby belongs to his twin brother whose name is Zach and the baby is called Charlie. Zach asks in a letter that Jax looks after Charlie until it is safe for him to return for him.

I loved that the ending is giving us a crossover to the next book in the Shadow Team series where we will meet Zach and his partner Kai properly and find out what secret and dangerous mission they were on.

An enjoyable read which I would recommend. Thank you RJ for gifting me this ARC in return for my honest opinion.

This friends-to-lovers book has all of the feel-goods and a nice Christmas vibe, although it would work well for any time of the year. Jax has twin girls in a shared-custody with his ex-wife. He's also close to his adopted parents and siblings. He found out that he has a biological twin who he hasn't seen since they were babies, so when he has time, he looks for him. The only other thing that is missing is that he has a secret crush he'd like to act on with his home remodeling business employee, Arlo.

Arlo is also carrying a hidden torch for his boss, Jax. Arlo's parent died during his first year of college. Arlo returned home to raise his two younger brothers. Now, both brothers have left the nest and Arlo is feeling lonely and lost. He would like to let Jax knows how he feels, but he lacks the confidence and isn't sure if his feelings would be reciprocated, although he knows that Jax is bi.

When the two men come to Jax's house to hang out one evening, they are shocked to find a baby on the front steps. A note indicates that the baby is Jax's nephew. His twin seems to be in danger and has given Jax custody to take care of the baby.

Can Jax and Arlo navigate their feelings for each other, deal with a newborn, and keep the business going? The first half of this book relied, more than to my taste, on the men just not communicating their feelings. It felt like it dragged on too long, but once the dam burst, their relationship really took off. There were a lot of challenges to navigate, but their HEA was fabulous!

A very touching romance!

RJ Scott's books always get to me…in the best way. This story touched my heart and got all of my emotions involved which is one of my favorite things when I'm reading. And that cover! It's just too precious.

The blurb really tells you all that you need to know about the book so I won't rehash it. I will tell you that this story takes place during the holiday time of Thanksgiving-Christmas but I wouldn't exactly call it a holiday romance. It's so much more.

Arlo and Jax really need someone to knock their heads together at the beginning of this story. There is so much pining but neither of them will tell the other that they have romantic feelings. A baby found on Jax's doorstep finally sets things in motion for their romance. Miracle is a delicious slow-burn romance.

I laughed and I cried (mostly happy tears) while reading Miracle and it was so much fun to visit with the Byrne family again (from book 3, Promise).

The romance between Jax and Arlo is solid and the epilogue set one year later was really great. But RJ left us with what I call a soft-cliffhanger in this one. Whatever is going on with Jax's twin, Zach won't be resolved until we get his book (in the Shadow Team series) which is slated to release in 2024.

A copy of this book was provided to me at my request but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

This is the seventh book in the series, and I think you can read it as a standalone, although the other books are very good and well worth reading!

It may just be my current mood, but I found this romance to be one of those knock their heads together relationships which is taken a step too far. Possibly in part because they both spend a lot of their time in their heads telling us lots of detail which I felt could have been spoken just as well. I found some of the detail threw me out of the story of the moment, and didn't seem to fit with the overall plot - but having looked at other people's reviews, I was clearly in a different space to them.

It is definitely clear to everyone but the men themselves that they are a close knit unit, and only their nervousness at ruining a great friendship has stopped them risking it all - for two intelligent otherwise confident men, who spend most of their waking hours together, it is pretty incredible, and had I been there, I sure would have knocked their heads together myself!

Sweet read with cute baby, lots of supportive family and an HEA ... and the most unusual way of becoming a single Dad!

A great new book in the series. I really liked that I got to see some of the already known characters from before, even if just a bit.

Arlo and Jax were well developed, multidimensional characters and I loved to get to know them.

I was invested in their story and therefore it was no surprise that I really wanted to shake those two when they – for what felt like a little eternity - didn't manage to talk about their feelings. I was sitting here, mumbling and swearing under my breath. XD

But oh it was so good when they finally did manage to clear the air and tell each other how they were feeling. And then suddenly there was an unexpected baby. That Arlo was immediately in and willing to care for Jax' twin brother's kid too was just so heartwarming. Arlo definitely has a piece of my heart.

Which completed the story for me were the great secondary characters like Jax' parents and his brothers. They were on board with everything that made Jax happy and accepted Arlo plus the surprise baby. They were supportive and just all around lovely.

A somewhat gentle lovestory with a missing twin & a surprise baby mixed in.

I was captivated right from the start and I couldn't put it down. I had to read it in one go. Well done, really.
Btw I can tell you that Mrs. Scott did it again and I am now eagerly awaiting Zach's story. I really want to hear more from him.

My first time reading this series and I always enjoy a holiday romance. This was a sweet story and although I haven’t read the previous books, I felt comfortable reading this as a standalone story. The book focuses on best friends Arlo and Jax who also happen to work together at Jax’s company.

Jax and Arlo were such a lovable pair of MCs. Both were caring and sweet for one another as best friends, looking out for the other. And the pining these two have with both being absolutely clueless how the other feels for them!! I kept on wondering when these two were going to figure it out - is this going to be the moment? That kept me invested page after page hoping for their chance.

Both characters made such a wonderful pair when an unexpected family member shows up on Jax’s doorstep. Arlo is wonderful and supportive to Jax every step of the way as Jax is concerned with what his family will say regarding this recent development and also holding down the business while Jax deals with this latest upheaval in his life. Arlo is protective as well and steps up for him and his decisions when Jax needed extra support.

Glad these two got their HEA and can’t wait to see how things end up working out for Kai and Zach in their book. I wonder how it will all play out for this family and looking forward to hopefully seeing cameos of Arlo and Jax in their book in the Shadow Team series. Absolutely planning to go back and read the prior stories in this series as well!

Jax and Arlo's story is a sweet, friends to lovers romance with a teensie bit of angst as neither man wants to jeopardise their friendship or working relationship by taking that next step, even though it's basically been all about each other for several years.
This is also a single dad romance with a twist - Jax's long lost twin, who he is still yet to meet, leaves his baby on Jax's doorstep for him to care for.
There is of course the panic of a new baby and if Zach is ok, along with the relief that Zach knows where he is and that he's alive, at least. Arlo is right there to help Jax through it all and shows all of his best sides. He's had parenting experience, having to raise his brothers after their parents passed away, but a baby is a different ball game.
The two men work really well together and, it's just another thing to bring them even closer together. When things do happen, it's the obvious question of why did you wait so long? But it's a happy ending all round for these guys and a wonderful read.

I’m loving this author’s single dads series, and especially how the characters from each of the books all connect. This story is very much about family, and siblings, and I now need to read about Jax’s brother!

I love Arlo and Jax’s friendship, and their cluelessness about their true feelings for each other. They fit together so well, and are fabulous parents to baby Charlie. I liked how neither is a stranger to raising children, whether it be their own or younger siblings. I also loved how Jax is instrumental in getting Arlo, Sutton, and Trace to finally talk.

I love Jax’s parents, and how loving, supportive, and practical they are. The scenes with Jax’s siblings, and Arlo’s brothers are fun. I enjoyed their relationships and how they’re all there for each other.

The scenes with Panda adopting Arlo are fun, and he’s very much his own character. Typical cat.

The epilogue is wonderfully feel good, and I loved the glimpse into the future.

"Allez je me lance..."

On Kobo, (EPub 3 DRM-Free) 224 pages

Ths volume concerns Jax (who has featured as an off-stage character in previous books) running a successful construction company while searching for his lost twin - and Arlo, a more than capable carpenter and builder who gave up his college course in architectutre to bring up his two brothers when their parents were killed. Both Jax and Arlo have feelings for each other which neither seem able to express... The situation changes when a baby is left on Jax's doorstep - with a note asking that Jax looks after Charlie until Zach is able to reclaim him...

Good that there looks to be some closure for the Jax/Zack thread as well as the core topic of the Jax/Arlo relationship which only they are unable to see!

At least one more book in this series - but a note that Zach and Kai feature in book 3 of the Shadow Team series means a diversion before coming to that volume.
