Three years ago, Everly Chastain headed home for Christmas with the pack she thought would be her future. By New Year's Day she headed back to New York alone. Within a year, her younger sister was bonded and pregnant.
"Family comes first." That's what her family said, and Everly took it to heart. She shook off the pain and plastered on fake smiles to keep the peace. But with her sister pregnant for the second time in three years, Everly is determined to finally find her forever pack and start a family of her own.
When Everly's second match through the government-run Omega Protection Authority falls through, she turns to the private sector. The Exchange offers a safe place for omegas to ride out their heat and a chance to be matched.
But Everly found a flaw in the system. She's got a secret, and one way or another she plans to leave her vacation with the best gift she can imagine. * * *
This is the first book in The Omega Exchange series. This entire series is low stress/low angst. Each story has no cheating, no choosing, and a full content info is listed in the author's note.
I've been a fan of Jillian West since Left in Ruins. A Pack for Christmas is an omegaverse reverse harem like her other books but I have to say her writing style and editing has improved significantly since the duet. It sounds worse than I mean it to sound because I read those and loved them despite the errors but this book is very well written! Evie is an omega who has been rejected before and she wants a pack and a family so bad she's willing to try to sneak past their system. I laughed a lot. I loved the humor and characters!
Jillian West is one of my favorite omegaverse writers because the books have excellent spice but they don't feel like it's pure sex. The character development in this novella isn't as deep as some of the others but that's to be expected in this type of book! I can't wait to read more in this series.
THERE IS: NO MM NO BULLYING NO BC NO OW DRAMA - there is another omega who is a bit snotty to Evie but she has no past relationship with the men! NO THIRD ACT BREAK UP
WHAT YOU WILL FIND: BREEDING KINK A CHASE SCENE - It was mild in my opinion but be aware it's there MURPHY AND HIS ADORABLE OBSESSION WITH BEARS! LACTATION - only in epilogue and one scene
I liked the lower angst and sweetness of this Christmas-themed omegavere RH. The heroine, Everly, is relatable, a bit awkward, and just wants to find her pack and start making babies, but she keeps getting rejected. She ends up on a trip hoping to either connect with a pack or get knocked up. The pack she ends up with are a nice mix of personalities and just really good guys who are all about her right from the start, esp the gruff big one. Where this book faltered a bit for me is in writing style and some of the details. While I like the premises and the characters of Ms. West's omegaverses I've read, I have a hard time connecting with her writing for some reason, and I end up also wanting a bit more details/fleshing out. Still, this was a cute and fun read with some obsessed and possessive heroes, a FMC who finally gets the pack she deserves, and a side of breeding kink. Really funny and sweet parts and plenty of omegaverse steam with knotting, nesting, and barks/purrs. Written in first person, multi-POV. No ow/om drama and one of the heroes is a virgin but the rest are not (one former manwhore and no history given on the others; it had also been a while for the FMC).
Most of the book focuses on the characters and establishing their relationship. Two of the men I felt were less developed than the others and the resolution of a question about bonding for one of the guys was resolved in a very easy way, but these are kind of nitpicky things, because again, this was meant to be a low angst, fun read and it does achieve that. The last chapter got a bit dramatic for me, bringing in some family drama all at once, but not in a way that affects the main characters, just sort of wraps up some past hurt feelings. Then there are my favorite things, multiple epilogues with all the sweet pregnancy/baby/family type scenes, so if you like breeding kink but aren't a huge fan of babies, the author made it easy to separate the two, which she notes at the beginning of the book and I thought was really nice to accommodate different readers. I would have loved there to be more of a peek into their every day life, but I really liked the note that the book ended on with their HEA.
I absolutely freaking loved this so much!! 🥹 5 sweet-as-apple-pie stars!!
I was instantly sucked into the story when I read the blurb on the author’s instagram and do not regret jumping off my current read to devour this in four short hours. It was so good I couldn’t stop reading!!
Everly was so precious. So sweet and so broken and yet don’t worry because like Santa said, ““something better is waiting in the wings” 🥺 I loved her “F**k-It List and knew this book would get wild from that alone.
The first male we’re introduced to is grumpy, growly, Murphy. Everly instantly feels safe with him and it all snowballs down from there. Throughout the book you realise that Murphy is actually a sweet as pie, slightly insecure, highly possessive teddy bear and I love him.
Then we have Archie, Connor and then Luke. Archie is a goddamn Scottish gentleman who only wants the best for our sweet girl. Connor is more reserved, at first, because he tries thinking with his head and not other body parts. Luke is the strong, sexy Beta who originally is unsure of himself but damn does he show up for Everly!!
I loved the dynamic of this pack so much. They all just wanted the best for Everly and each overcame their own insecurities to do it. The way they treated her was so freaking adorable, and the bedroom scenes were delicious!!
Overall, while my heart initially broke for Everly when her history was revealed, I thoroughly enjoyed watching her get her HEA and the best pack in existence! All their dreams came true and it was absolutely worth the ride 🥹😍
No MM to be found. It seems really rare to find that in omegaverse lately and I was absolutely going to read this from the second I found out there was no MM.
I loved this book for that fact alone. And Jillian West can write some damn good smut!
Murphy. That's all. Just Murphy. I'm going to need my own. K thanks.
I absolutely adored this book! It wasn’t deeply suspenseful. There was no massive drama or heartbreak. This story was amazingly sweet and very spicy and it was the most perfect sweetverse ever! It was also surprisingly funny 😆
”Murdering your employee would be frowned upon, right? I'm fairly certain if I planned it properly, I could make it look like an accident. Luke likes to snowboard. Terrible things happen on the trail. I could find a bear, they're all over these woods. It would be relatively easy to make sure it got rid of most of the evidence for me.
I scratch my jaw. Maybe I could buy one? No, that's way more complicated and would leave a paper trail. I could get some steaks and lure one, and the evidence would be minimal. Except it’s winter and the bears are hibernating. Fuck.”
- 🧁 Sweet omegaverse - 👀 Multiple first person POV - 💕 5/5 romance stars - 🌶️ 5/5 spicy stars - 🔥 fast burn - 🔪 amazingly possessive Alphas who are intent on murdering anyone who gets close to their omega - 🫦 kinks: DVP and triple penetration, biting, breeding kink, lactation kink, primal chase scene - 🚫 No MM, no TW, no bullying, no OM/OW drama
This was a fun, light omegaverse. I enjoyed it for what it was for the most part but the last 30 pages before the epilogues kind of brought it down for me. It tried to throw in a bunch of twists all at once when it should have kept to the simple, fluffy story it was all the way through.
Read the authors note There's a really clear note at the beginning of this novella. The author is real enough to tell you what you'll find and what you won't. Read it. If you want some light hearted smut then take a spin into the exchange. This isn't a romance novel it's a short and smutty novella. And it's hysterical.
It was fine at the beginning but it got old eventually. She's drinking hot cocoa, dude, calm down.
The holiday spirit was missing in this one. I honestly kept forgetting it was a Christmas themed book.
The steam, though, was pretty hot. I liked all the males except the one that wanted to sell their business. My favorite was the giant virgin alpha, those truly melt my heart each time ♡ But the fact that he smells like gasoline was a huge turn off for me. Also, 'electric smell' seems to be pushing the limits of originality to land on just nonsensical..
3.4 stars. So. I did really enjoy this book. Murphy was absolutely my favorite. He’s such a big, growly softy. I loved all the humor and cute moments he brought to the story. The sex was hot and smutty and plentiful, exactly how I like it.
I just had a few problems with the writing and wordage in some places. First off, something I noticed in the other book I read by this same author, she likes to ‘jump cut’ to the next scene. Which is fine, and it wasn’t as bad in this one as it was in the other book, because the time jumps here were mostly just moments, whereas in the other book it could be anywhere from a couple hours to a couple weeks. Either way, I, personally, think this author needs to work on her transitions into new scenes. They’re just choppy, in my opinion, and I think they could be better.
Then there’s this weird shit that was happening when anyone described the FMC. The first red flag for me was when they consistently referred to her boobs as ‘huge’ followed immediately by ‘a solid D-cup’.🫢🤯What?? That’s ‘huge’? Because, see, before that I was thinking she was a midsize babe with big thighs, a little belly, and some meat on her bones. But if her boobs are only a D-cup and they’re saying they’re ‘huge’ that completely changes everything. Ok. Maybe that doesn’t explain why it bothered me. I am a plus size woman. And as a plus size woman, I have seen and heard a lot of men say they like ‘thick’ girls and then in all actuality be talking about a skinny girl with T&A. This gave me Those vibes. And it was just off putting. There were other little offhanded comments made about the FMC that made it seem like she was plus-size, too. And then when we actually got to a point where she was getting naked all of that fell away and what we were left with was just a girl who was small but had an hourglass figure…why? Just why? I don’t understand why we had to be misled like that. Either she’s mid/plus size, or she’s not. Pick one and have your characters describe her accordingly. It just felt icky. I didn’t like it.
….but the smut was fun. 😂 Seriously though. It was a pretty good book. I had a good time reading it. I kept getting giggles when Murphy would mumble some shit, or negotiate with Everly about food. I loved him. He was so cuddly, I just wanted to snatch him from the pages for myself.
But I probably won’t be reading more from this author anytime soon. 🤷🏻♀️
I liked the description of the story, Omega looking for her Pack to love and bond with. Sweet. It started as a 3.5 and slowly descended in ratings from there for me. 2.5 stars since I was compelled to finish it.
Was it me or was the writing vague, skipped around and hard to follow sometimes? I didn’t get enough time with the guy characters (other than Murphy) to get a solid idea of what/who they were. All the POV’s blended after a while and I gave up trying to sort them out. I know I could do it, my last book had dozens of characters to keep track of, so I realized I just didn’t care -shrugs-.
I found myself skimming the dirty talk and sexy times since it felt very shallow, very insta (I get why) but I just couldn’t feel their connection. And I just didn’t feel connected either. The whole Omega protection thing was a bit muddled. I think it was smut with a story to connect the smut :) not s story for the joy of a story.
The cover of this book made me nervous. I saw a post on IG and seeing the Christmas list I knew I was going to read it. Evie was relatable and goofy. She's funny but real. Murphy is top 5 book boyfriends. Luke's more alpha than beta. Archie and his reasons for being a gentleman 😭 who's crying... Not me. Connor was responsible. I do wish he'd had more fun to his personality, but it was a well rounded harem! The epilogues were **chefs kiss** perfection. Spice is high in this one! Same for the cuteness factor. I absolutely loved it & can't wait to read the next ones!
AHH where do I even begin?! “A Pack for Christmas” is the sweetest, most joyful holiday novel with just a teeeeny bit of angst. It is a reverse harem omegaverse, with a pack of 3 alphas and a beta (who you can’t convince me isn’t part alpha). Their omega, Everly, is quirky and fun and desperate for her own child, bond be damned.
“A Pack for Christmas” crosses off so many of my favorite tropes: - he falls first and falls hard - grumpy sunshine - natural harem building - healthy communication
I also love that the men aren’t carbon copies of one another. Lukas is the beta with a mouth on him (his dirty talk is probably my most highlighted), Connor is the polite businessman, Archer is the Scottish-American who is obsessed with being “a gentleman”, and Murphy is the big, gruff alpha who is really just a softie. They each compliment Evie in different ways. I also appreciated that, after finding out she has a job, they never once tried to persuade her to give it up. Instead, they actually looked at how they could use her skills to make her feel more comfortable being with them, which came in the form of being an antique appraiser at the lodge. These men truly loved her from the beginning and (ugh!) it was so cute to see.
There is no other woman, no third act breakup, and no real drama. If you’re looking for something to satisfy your sweet tooth, while giving you that little bit of angst to make things fun, definitely give this book a read!
This was a quick cute read. One thing that drove me batty…the switching back and forth between Tom and Murphy for Tom Murphy? There was no rhythm for it…just felt random. Made me itchy 😂
I really loved this book; it was a quick funny, steamy hot read. I am a HUGE fan of Br3ed!ng, but I loved how she set this book up; it allowed you to enjoy both sides of the story.
The number of times they mentioned wanting to br33d her was chef's kiss; I gobbled it up. These men were possessive, and no one was getting in the way of claiming her. I always enjoy reading Jillian's books, so I cannot wait to see what she writes next.
I'm a little concerned that if she changed her mind about us I'd literally have to kidnap her.
Yup that’s Tom Murphy, who was the only character in the story referred by both names. It’s already hard to follow which guy is who, they all have different accents or looks yet still blend into one except Murphy. Murphy was drastically different and yet I was confused by Tom showing up then realized it was the same guy. Everyone just calls him Tom or Murphy interchangeably. It was so confusing, especially since none of the other guys have last names!! Well none that we are told. Maybe the nephew guy has one but I can’t remember it. Anyways, this bothered me so much.
The story was full of smut. So if that’s your jam, this book is for you. Once they get started it’s on. I really liked how at the end we get family drama closure from Everly and her sister Cassie and Luke and his brother Ben. That was very nice to get. It felt like the story was well rounded and did not have any loose ends. It was very satisfying. The story was mostly okay. There was some corporate drama with the Omega Exchange program that was somewhat interesting, I didn’t care for it but it was there. I guess that opens it up for more books.
Before I forget, this is Christmas themed through and through. She has the weird matching Christmas outfits the guys find adorable, not weird, of course. With matching underwear! She has a Christmas list with naughty Christmas related sexual experiences she makes the guys act out. Again, they find her adorable. It’s cute for them, super silly for everyone else.
I have been trying to push through the OBVIOUS red flags and controlling, misoginyst comments and behaviours that the men in this book have towards the women, but I really, really f*cking can't.
I know I didn't even reach the half-way point but I'm here to rant, so buckle up.
From the beginning, we see the MMCs complaint about how most Omegas are vapid, pampered gold-diggers who seem mostly brainless with their one-track mind. And, yes, they are all women. Then we see that omegas having a job is so rare that when the FMC admits to having a job (one that she likes but would quit on the spot to be a stay-at-home mom), the MMC she tells about it feels so shocked, he starts thinking about how she might be the ONLY omega he's ever met with a job. So, women wanting financial security and trying to get themselves a good life in the what's basically the only way that's within their reach of what's socially acceptable, makes them insufferable...
I've said it before, and I will say it again. There is literally no need to make omegaverse -an inherently paranormal worldbuilding where the norms of society are alredy warped and changed to fit the whole omegas, alphas and betas thing- be also a women-hating world. It is a huge read flag to me everytime I read one of these book and there's no alpha females, or omega males. And on top of that, the treatment of the omegas is so condescending and gross. It's always "Oh, we'll take care of you, you poor, little, useless thing, you. You don't know what's good for you, but I know what's good for you, so shut up and take it, ok?" And this may not have been said in as many words, but the sentiment is clear as f*cking day. To the point that one of the MMCs knows her for all of two seconds and has barely even spoken to her when he starts telling her that she's not going to get up from the chair or have dessert unless she eats her veggies... I wish I was kidding. I promise you I'm not. His excuse is that, apparently, all omegas like being told what to do. Give me a f*cking break.
Now imagine the dialogue here, where they constantly treat her like this and she's a wet-blanket who, not only let's them, but does absolutely nothing about it, and it's terrified that they might make her leave if they found out that she's not on birth-control. Because god forbid she makes choices about her own body without an assembly of alphas to tell her what to do with her life first.
This was just very big NOPE, and I don't even feel bad about it. Honestly reminded me a lot of Melissa Huxley's omageverses: both are inherently women-hating, and I cannot bring myself to read them.
If you want the good version of this, I'd recommend A Pack for Winter by Eliana Lee, A Pack of Cozy and A Pack of Mistletoe by Veronica Samek, and Her Knotty List by Amy Wright. These have all the Christmas vibes you could want, but they're not -you know- awful and full of hatred and misoginy.
Omegaverse is not my cup of tea. There are only two series I have read so far, that I really like. And this on was not one of the series. There is kind of a pot in this story, but mostly it is cute and fluffy and it reveals the plot kind of late and even than it is forgotten. But there is a lot of smut going on.
Mostly when a story is more steam than plot, I get bored. That is part of what happened here.
A Pack for Christmas is a fast-burn smutty filled goodness of a Christmas Omegaverse stand-alone! This story follows Evie is an Omega who has been passed over multiple times by other alphas, even ones that where scent marched, The only pack she took home for Christmas ended up bonding with her sister! So Evie after being rejected by her last pack meets “Santa” and he gives her a card that leads her to the Omega Exchange’s lodge and Ski Resort. She feels this is her last chance to find her pack, and if she doesn’t find that she wants to at least end her heat cycle with her own tiny bundle of Christmas Magic
When she arrives to the lodge her matched pack is a no show and she wanders until she meets a very growly beta and the pack that owns the lodge. (Remember Santa here meddling uncle more like it 🤣)
I freaking Love Tom and Luke (rest of the harem is yummy to don’t worry!) add in Primal Play, a spicy heat cycle and some excellent dirty talking you have an yummy read.
The ending I will say I am shocked the “animal sanctuary” wasn’t bought like the men chatted about. I finished this book in one day and can’t wait for a certain Daddy Dom in the next story!
DNF 50% First try at an omega verse RH, and I just can’t handle ‘group activities.’ It’s not my thing, but I know many other people would love this fun and playful book so I’m not going to rate it. It seems unfair to give it a low rating just because it’s not my thing.
While this was cute it was far too long and had way too much filler. I don’t remember much from this book except how insecure the fmc was. I get there has to be noticeable character development when writing characters like this but when it’s to the point where me, the reader is agreeing with her negative thoughts???? She can’t stop crying about how no one likes her and I’m like yeah that checks out cause I don’t like you either.
Cute Omegaverse The pages in this rh practically turned themselves. I like Evie and couldn't help but cheer for her to get her happy ending. I don't think I could have been as forgiving with my sister. My only complaint is I don't think this is a novella. Its 279 pages on my kindle and that's longer than a lot of serial novels I've read lately. So I was confused why it's labeled as a novella.
Fav Quotes Luke "You f$$king alphas." Luke lets out a humorless laugh. "You act like the only way to make a commitment is through a bond. I hate to break it to you, but people fall in love and stay faithful every d*mn day without a bond to keep them honest."
Evie "Does this count as a walk of shame?" I ask as Luke opens the door and heads out into the hallway. I'm still in Murphy's shirt. I think that means it counts. "I don't even have shoes on. It's a carry of shame."
Murphy I should chain her to my bed. Then she wouldn't be able to smile at him like that again. Once she's claimed she can be around him, but only if she gives me smiles like that, too.
I scratch at my jaw. I think my impulses are trying to cross the gentleman line again. F&cking Archie and his b#llsh!t gentleman line. I still don't understand what the line is, and I think that's half the problem.
Overall Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️½ I like the way she smells. I want to get to know her better. Court her. Breed her. Claim her. Or is it court her, claim her, breed her? What order does that need to be done in, in order to be a gentleman about it?
📚 Book Review 📚 A Pack for Christmas is a super sweet omegaverse ‘novella’, with almost no angst, perfect for omegaverse lovers to read for the holiday season (or any season, to be honest).
While billed as a novella, this gem clocks in at over 250 pages and is filled with plenty of super-hot OV goodness – scenting, marking, and loads of preheat and heat s3x. High spice and high burn. This is a pure MFMM with no MM action.
I loved the growly alphas and beta, and the “when you know, you know” direction of courtship. It was a perfect counterpoint to the gun-shy omega who has been rejected thrice. They make sure to let her know just how much she is wanted, and she does the same with them with no artifice.
Wrapped up in all the smut is a healthy helping of holiday fun - kissing under the mistletoe, a hot chocolate bar, making gingerbread houses, and tree decorating.
I especially loved the choose-your-own-adventure type ending Jillian offered. If you prefer your HEA without pregnancy (just the ambiguity of a possible pregnancy), stop reading at the end of the book. If you would like to see babies, continue through to the epilogue. I wasn’t disappointed.
A great introduction to a future series of standalones in The Omega Exchange series, I highly recommend this OV.
🎧 Audiobook Review 🎧 An amazing book is made even better in this audiobook production. The narrators did a fantastic job bringing this story to life. Shout Out to Gideon Frost’s portrayal of Archer. That Scottish accent was NSFW. Panty melting hot!

I only ever read Not Many Options by this author and that book got me out of a reading slump and I said I'll read the other 2 books she has but I haven't. Now she has at least 5 more books and I have downloaded all of them. As soon as I read the first chapter and connected with Evie, I knew I was going to love this book. I have mixed feeling about her sister. I definitely hate Luke's brother Ben though and the other pack. Evie has been through rejection twice but is amazing as ever. Her friend is awesome especially the list she made. Great support. I loved each of the guys and their different personalities. Feral but adorable Murphy and his obsession with bears, grumpy Connor which I can't imagine even though it's mentioned, serious Archer and playful Luke. Them being totally whipped was hilarious and the epilogues especially the birth was the highlight. The smut was H.O.T which I've come to expect from omegaverse. Anastasia seemed like a bitch but the truth came out and in intrigued by her story. Will be reading that next.
I'm so happy I found this book randomly on tktk, I saw a small part of it on a video and was immediately intrigued and downloaded the whole series on the same day. I devoured this book, I started late afternoon yesterday and had to force myself to stop reading and go to sleep around 2am lol, I did regret it a bit this morning when I woke up, but then dove straight back into the book when I had some time. I loved everything about this, the possessiveness of these men, their protectiveness of Evie... I was hooked!! I'll definitely check the rest of the series. If it's as good as the first book, I already know I'll love it!
A sweet omegaverse romance with an awkward omega who just wants a pack and babies, but has been rejected several times, and the omega matchmaking retreat owners who take one look at her and decide that she’s theirs.
I really liked the first half of this book, which was basically low angst and all vibes with a simple storyline. It was on track to being a 4 star read, but then the second half had too much going on for me. Still a fun read though.
I really enjoyed the omegaverse aspect of this story and Everly in particular was a delight of a character. I did feel though that not all the men had equal parts in the books and two of them got left out which was a bummer. Maybe the book could've been a little longer so that we could see more of the men and see them form a connection to Everly.
But the plot was nice and especially how Luke came to be a part of the pack was a highlight to me, the acceptance from the other members was heartwarming. And I enjoyed Everly's heat, it was well done.
I think the ending was rushed and it would've been better to cut it out or make it longer. Now we got a confusing family moment that was all over the place and it didn't feel appropriate for the book. We didn't need the not-resolution of several points in the book since well, in my opinion, they didn't get resolved fully.
Oh wow. I've loved previous books by Jillian West and I had the opportunity to read this in advance, and ended up loving this just as much as her other books. It was wonderful reading how a previously passed over Omega finds her forever pack whilst rekindling her love for Christmas.
This has just about everything I love in a Holiday Omegaverse:
✅️ Fun relatable fmc omega ✅️ Growly hot alphas ✅️ One adorable handsome beta ✅️ Set on a ski resort 🎿 ✅️ Some Christmas ~"magic"~ ✅️ All the holiday vibes and feels ✅️ A sizzling hot fuck-it bucket list ✅️ All the babymaking ✅️ Warm and cozy lovin'
I loved it. Its fun, short, spicy and festive. Exactly what I needed. But a fair warning, if breeding kink is not up your street, then this is most likely not for you. Because there's a lot of that.
A great start to a promising new series called the Omega Exchange, and I'm so very excited to read some more stories about Omegas finding love.
This is my second reread and honestly, I love Murphy!!😛 He’s a real giant teddy bear, so possessive and protective🙂↕️
And like always, I can jump into Jillian West’s books without checking for safety because she only writes safe stories, with no OWD, no cheating, and the MMCs are always devoted to the heroine after they meet.
I'm waffling between 3.5-4 stars. The story was good. I felt a little sick about what the heroine intended to do at the sanctuary because no one deserves that forced on the. It could have backfired and tied her to some horrible people so I'm glad it worked out.
