Blood of Dawn is the next installment in the Curse of Dawn series, and all we can say is...Do. Not. Miss. On. This. Book! OMG! It is packed from beginning to end with drama, and the ending? The ending is going to have you howling for book three.
We love a good urban fantasy mixed with apocalypse and this book (and series) checks all the boxes. You get horror. You get twists and surprises. You get steamy romance, and you get some moments of respite. But peace never lasts long. Not when a dangerous fog/mist creeps across the land every morning turning humans into zombies. Is it a “great reset”? Or is there something more sinister going on here?
One thing is for sure, and that is Blood of Dawn is going to hand you some answers, and then throw some surprises at you that will literally have your jaw on the floor. It’s awesome. Hoping for new shifters species? We get them! Boy howdy did we get excited to be introduced to some that we’ve never known before.
Do you get some steamy scenes with Orion and his mate? Yep! You do! Delicious steamy scenes. Is Miko still thinking of sacrificing himself despite Orion’s objections? Yes, but...there might be another way. Answers are coming, and we are loving the flashbacks that reveal the truth concerning the Dawn.
This book is a serious page-turner and it will keep you coming back for more. That’s if you are even able to put the book down in the first place! LOL!

The plot truly heated up in this book! In the quest to get out of London and to Dunstable in search of answers, Orion and Miko grapple with the deepening of their bond and what it means at the end of the road. New characters come into play as well as an increasing intensity with the antagonists, which is on some levels quite freaky, given the power they hold over Orion. While the dialogue is still stilted, it's less of an impact here because the action truly takes over the plot! I'm so happy that I waited to read this book until the third was out!

Knowing what I know now about this book, would I still read it if I went back in time?
Yes!

See below for the four criteria I use to decide whether and when to read a book

CHARACTERS: Still love them! It's fascinating to watch the development and growth, especially in Miko. On one level, he's the big bad alpha werewolf we come to expect, but on another, especially when it comes to interactions with the main antagonist, Lance, there are vulnerabilities and wounds that haven't fully healed in Miko, ones that have clearly shaped his belief in himself. He's put into impossible situations in an attempt to protect his pack and his mate, as well as being singled out by Lance. Orion also continues to grow more and more confident in himself as he's put into situations where he must make choices of where his loyalty lies. His devotion to hope and optimism is tested and even here he begins to waver. At the same time, we see the core group truly coming together and refusing to be parted.

PLOT: As the pack undertakes their trip to get out of London and reach Dunstable, we're gifted with the quest plotline that includes meeting new people and seeing new places as conflict continually attempts to stop and separate them all. New locations, more mystery, both in the backstories of our main characters and the secrets behind Dawn both crop up and are answered rather explosively by the end of this book. The pack is constantly thwarted and constantly finding ways to regroup and reroute in their quest to get to Dunstable. All the while, something surprising and terrifying is happening to the zombies: they're evolving. And it has something to do with blood. The end of this book is left with not quite a cliffhanger, but the group definitely separated and at a fairly dark moment, in terms of peril and needing to get back to one another. You get the sense of a major turning point at the end of this book!

EMOTIONAL INTENSITY: There is no good/bad here. Sometimes I just want a low-investment entertainment read whereas other times a high-stakes 'I need a therapist to recover' is what I need.

3:5/medium. Definitely more intensity. We have less of the stilted dialogue effecting us and also the conflict has ramped up in such a way that at one point I did feel my heart pounding. I've also finished this book wondering how on earth they're going to succeed!

CATHARTIC FULFILLMENT: Is the emotional journey worth it? Do I finish this book feeling that I've crested the wave of the climactic moment and everything has been settled, leaving me settled and fulfilled?

75%. Mostly because this book moreso than book one is definitely more of a cliffhanger. The climactic events that have occurred having really been overcome and we're definitely left hanging wondering what's going to happen next.

The ending of this book deserves an award! Seriously, I'm not kidding, it was everything. This entire book was so action-packed that I almost couldn't imagine an ending with an impact and then the author did... that. I had questions, a lot of questions while reading this book and whenever I have questions I also have ideas about possible answers. There was absolutely no way I could predict the answers I got though. It was so good! I could probably write a two-paged filled review just about the final chapter. Doing that without giving away spoilers is a bit hard though.

So, that being said, there is a lot more to say about this second book in the curse of dawn series. It has everything I love so much about this author. So much is happening in this story. I read a lot of dystopian, post-apocalyptic novels and quite often I see people complaining about the lack of zombie-encounters or a lack of confrontations with the harsh world they're living in. There is no way people can complain about that in this book; it overflows with it, and it was a true rollercoaster ride through hell. On top of that, there is the found family vibe we already saw in book one, and characters that keep hold of their fragility while being badass whenever it's needed.

With how book two ended, I definitely can't wait to get my hands on book three. I absolutely adore this series, and watching it end will probably end up being bittersweet.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. I went ahead and bought it when it came out today. That's how much I liked it.

I'm not a big zombie fan, but I am a big Richard Amos fan. The second book in a trilogy is always the worst out of the three so I really didn't have high hopes for this one. The second book is just filler usually. This was different. There wasn't a lot of action until like three-fourths through and then boom!

I don't want to spoil the book, but things did happen in the first three quarters so don't skip to the end. We get Miko and Orion being the seemingly star-crossed lovers. Miko knows he's the key to ending the Dawn problem and the zombies along with it. Orion is afraid that he's going to lose Miko since Miko believes that he has to sacrifice himself to end Dawn.

We have Basil playing a bigger role. He's not exactly keeping his jealousy to himself. That screws even more with Orion's head.

We have the bad werelynx Lance hovering in the background. He eventually does pop up and it isn't a good thing when he does. I'm not giving anyway any spoilers.

I do have to admit it took me a while to get through this book because of all the zombie stuff. However, the journey was well worth it. The ending made me more anxious for the final book in the series. I can't wait for October to get here.

Holy shit! The king of the bloody brilliant cliffhangers strikes again...what a ride!! Full review to follow.

OMG, what a rollercoaster ride…again! We're back in the zombie apocalypse with Fae Orion and his hunky Alpha werewolf mate Miko, where in the midst of ‘biter’ infested London our guys and their found family gang are trying to both stay alive and find an answer to the Dawn curse.

There's a great plot here. Continuing from the end of book 1 - this is definitely not a standalone - the gang needs to find out more about how they can bring positive change to the world…prophecies are such tricky things! And, as in any good zombie story, as well as plenty of undead action there's a non-zombie bad guy who's doing everything they can to stop our heroes reaching their goal which really ramps up the threat levels. Fortunately, they also encounter some friendlies along the way, so it's not all bleak all the time so both characters and readers get a bit of respite from all the jeopardy.

I really do like Orion and Milo as main characters. They make for a fantastic opposites-attract couple trying to build something in a very unstable world, which showcases Orion’s balance of sensitivity, courage and sassiness (with the occasional bit of huff) and Miko's sense of duty, protectiveness and power. Great bond!

So, there's no getting away from it…that ending! What a cliffhanger!! No spoilers, but I can't wait to see how the Curse Of Dawn trilogy ends. I think we can be fairly certain there'll be more fast-paced, all-out apocalyptic action for Orion and Miko. As for the detail? I've got no idea what they're going to have to overcome but I reckon I'll be on the edge of my seat until our guys get their HEA. There's always an HEA in a zombie apocalypse, right? Until we find out, it's 5* from me for Blood Of Dawn.

An ARC was provided by the author. This is my honest review.

Blood of Dawn is book 2 of the Curse of Dawn series. It is fast paced and full of wild action, so you had better hold on for a fast ride. I learned more about the characters and our group and met new characters of which I loved their security and their protection of their home.
Yes their is an enemy group that is lead by a Were-Lynx named Lance. Lance is trying to prevent what Miko and his pack are wanting to do.. Find the magical cure to save their world.
Miko and Orion have discovered that they have a super strong bond and I loved that how much Miko fought his attraction to Orion but that fighting only made the bond that much stronger. Miko and Orion are a perfect match and they complete each others heart.
The ending blew me away.. My heart broke and I wanted to scream.. but we all know that tragedy happens for a reason. I can't wait to read the next book to find out what happens to Miko and Orion. Their love is the perfect match in an Apocalyptic world.
So, if enjoy reading about Happy Couples, Zombie Apocalyptic worlds and Fierce Fighters then this book is for you.. and I advise you to read book 1 Curse of Dawn first.

I didn't see this coming.
First of all - this is not a standalone book. Ya gotta read the first one ('Curse of Dawn') to get a good context and starting point for this story.

And this story doesn't disappoint. Maki and Orion are two star crossed mates in a dystopian zombie apocalypse. But not just any zombie apocalypse - this one is man made and apparently tied to the family lineage of one of these to great MC's. This story is action and emotionally packed from the first page. While there are lots of predictable zombie story plot lines, this is not one of them. Just when I think I have figured something out - whammo! I don't. This story is breathtaking, exciting, fun and terrifying. Thoughts of safe havens prove fickle, and the main characters learn that they have each other - and a very small list of friends that they can trust. And that's it.

The ending is superb. And try as you might folks - you won't be able to guess it. I can't wait for book 3 - the final book in this series. Pretty sure we'll find out if there's any truth to the old adage "Blood is thicker than water".

Blood of Dawn by Richard Amos is book two in the Curse of Dawn Series. After reading the first book I was eagerly awaiting this installment. Oh my was it worth the wait, I flew through this book, it was so good. I barely lowered my kindle. All this being said these books aren’t standalones so you must read them in order. This book was full of action and full of zombies… it was such a crazy rollercoaster of a ride. The characters are still amazing with being relatable (as much as you can be in a post apocalyptic world) and completely boss at the same time. I love the way this story is being expanded and all the interesting things that our characters are learning/going through. My gosh, that ending! To say I need the next book would be an understatement; even if I’m worried about it in equal measure. It’s well written and the plot is so good with such a great spin in this world. The descriptions in this book are so good, you can imagine everything you’re reading. Like I said, I need the next book. If you’re a fan of Fae, werewolves, or zombies this is the series for you.

Blood Of Dawn is a paranormal post-apocalyptic romance by Richard Amos and the second in the series. Dawn has tured almost all humans into zombies leaving shifters, vampires, blood magi, amd a few Fae to fend for themselves in a new world. Orion and Miko have just found out they are fated mates only to discover Miko is the key to stopping Dawn. Will he be able to sacrifice himself to.save.the world.if it means hurting Orion and leaving him behind or will the Oracle remember something that cam save them all?
I really enjoy this story and the characters are really interesting. There is plenty of suspense and action along the way. I love the twists and so many unexpected things that occur and left me curious. There are.some smexy moments between Orion and Miko but there was still plenty of plot.
I rated this story 5 out of 5 stars. It's a great story with lots of surprises. If you like post-apocalyptic paranormal romances with found families and prophecies you will love Blood of Dawn. This is not a standalone so make sure you read the first book in these before this one.

The second book in the series was as gripping as the first one. Actually, it's my first zombie apocalypse... I was a bit cautious when I started, but Richard Amos has never disappointed me before, and this time isn't an exception. In the first book, we didn't get any substantial info about the origin of the Dawn. This book answers a lot of questions... and asks the new ones. There's a lot going on, and there is an amazing twist at the end. I'm now kind of dying to know... Anyway, Orion, Miko, and their unusual pack continue their quest in the world where every day lived seems like a miracle. I love the romantic part a lot. There's love and unconditional commitment between Ori and Miko. It' so heartwarming. I'm such a sucker for love that's bigger than life... I also love how the story is slowly untangling and you begin to understand what is going on. And I've already mentioned the twist. It's good! Highly recommend this series for all who love paranormal romance and action-packed stories.

We see the continuation of this zombie horror story slash far fantasy. I’m so happy I have this book a chance because I absolutely love Orion and Miko. They are just too adorable together and the added suspense of the zombies just gives me so much happiness. Two of my favorite styles rolled together. In this book we are get so many different revelations I don’t even know where to start. Hopefully without giving too much away I can say we learn about where the Red Dawn came from and we finally learn about the two sources that can get rid of it and get a little more back story on how Miko is tied into it. Of course we continue to see the team trying to dodge Lance and his chaos. Oh and that ending just had me gasping. Like I was not prepared to see that unfold and I’m now wondering how this new situation will unfold. I cannot wait to see what happens in the next book. I have so many questions that I need answers to and I hope to get them in the next book. I absolutely recommend this book and hope more people are willing to give it a chance.

When I read a book by this author I expect fabulous world building, great characters, and, unless the book is the final in a series, a nasty cliffhanger. This book delivers all those and more. I’m loving this series, with Orion and Miko not being able to catch a break. I’m also not usually a fan of zombie stories, but this one has some cool twists on the usual tropes.

I love how Orion and Miko’s relationship develops in this, and I’m trusting the author to give them their hard won HEA.

The pack dynamics and friendships are a highlight. I love that James, despite being beta, calls Miko out when he needs to. The mix of action, romance, and the ever present zombie threat combines to make a compelling story. I liked the new characters in this story, and I knew there was something more to Wendy!

Lance needs to get his just desserts, and soon. He’s such a nasty guy, and constant thorn in everyone’s side.

I can’t wait to see how everything plays out, especially with the prophecy not looking good for Miko. I love the revelations of his and Trev’s pasts.

An action packed and anxiety riddled romp through zombie infested streets.

I absolutely loved this book and cannot wait for the final in this series. Book 2 picks up right where book one left off. The scooby gang is coming to terms with the information that was given by the Oracle as well as Lance. Miko and Orion continue to struggle with their growing feelings for each other as well as, the overcast feeling of doom for what Miko feels he must to do to save everyone.

So many secrets of the past along with the origin of dawn come out in this book.

The action is so well blended with the mystery and romance. Richard does not disappoint in his well delivered action and romance scenes.

I highly recommend this series. If you love a good action-packed romance with zombies, intrigue and grumpy-sunshine, definitely check out this series.

There is some descriptive gore so please check the CW if that is a concern for you.

Blood of Dawn - Pleasure from Sorrow

‘I’d truly fallen for him. Physically. Emotionally. Spiritually. We were so connected, so ready for the next stages of our bonding. To embark on a journey of the heart together. Never leave me. Never…’

As Alpha werewolf Miko and fae Orion continue to fight, along with Miko’s pack, to save their world from the Dawn devastation, new information becomes pertinent to their survival.

The zombies are developing frightening new skills, while evil were-lynx Lance’s continuous attempts to destroy Miko’s goal of doing whatever it takes to save his found family are making it harder for them to stay safe, Orion and Miko share just how important each is to the other.

Ultimate turmoil continues to devastate this heroic group and emotions run hot in Richard Amos’s fabulous Blood of Dawn, next in his Curse of Dawn series!

I didn't get into zombie books when they were popular ages ago, but the way this book has me in a chokehold is just unreal. I love Orion and Miko and that we finally got some answers in this book! However, I will not forgive the ending. Be warned of the cliffhanger!

To the review. This book picked up immediately after book 1 ended and thrusts us right back with Miko and Orion on their quest to live happily ever after...I mean, end Dawn. Right away there is action and when I say this book moves from one nail biting scenario to the next, I am not kidding. We do get a few sweet interludes where the pair get to talk and....talk. But overall this is a book filled with action.

I am so curious where this is going, as both Miko and Orion are left in terrible positions at the end. Please, author, bring us to a happy ending. I have faith!

Richard Amos does bleak, post apocalyptic ever so well. Mortal peril and then a HEA, maybe. Book two ends with another cliffhanger, like book one had. Milo is still the key to ending Dawn. And Orion is still trying to figure out a way to save his mate from self sacrifice. They can't seem to catch a break. Some of the mystery around Dawn is revealed. But not the answer. Something for book three.
Amos certainly gives us a gritty, nail biting story. This was soooo good, I had to read it in one go. The cover (and book one's as well) is gorgeous. The axe in his hand just makes it better.
An adventurous read. Angst, violence. A few twists and turns. The ending was certainly unexpected. I just can't wait for book three, and how Amos writes them out of their current problems.
I receivedan advance copy of this book and this is my review.

Blood of Dawn (Book #2 of the Curse of Dawn series) follows through on the intense theme of Orion and Miko's journey towards Miko's deathly ultimate sacrifice for the elimination of the "Dawn" curse. Both characters are struggling to deal with their mutual feelings while searching for the solution to their world's problems/curse. Each has finally found a "family" to belong to. Each male fights for their fated mate amidst what is the Dawn's attack on two separate worlds, to hunt and be hunted. Mr. Amos again exercises his inimitable talent for cliffhangers that draw this reader to anxiously await whatever his imagination can and will create. This is my honest opinion of the ARC I received.

Blood of Dawn is the second book in the Curse of Dawn series. This is not a standalone and should be read after book one. First let me say that I couldn't put this book down once I started it. We are back with Miko, Orion, and the rest of the pack. I loved watching Miko and Orion become more connected as their bond becomes stronger. This book is filled with twists and turns that keep you guessing. This book has everything, action, love, heat and a great plot. The ending was of the book was masterfully done. Now I have to wait for the next book in the series and waiting is so hard. Richard Amos has out done himself with this series so far and I know the next book will be just as good if not better. I would definitely recommend this book and series as a 5 star read.

Blood of Dawn, the second book in the Curse of Dawn series by Richard Amos is an intriguing Post-Apocalyptic M/M romance packed full of unbelievable tensions, steamy heat, non stop drama, action and adventure in a zombie filled world and is everything you could ever ask for in a book! Hot alpha werewolf? Check! Star crossed lovers? Check! An intriguing prophesy and ending that keeps you guessing?Check! Fabulous side characters? Check! Absolutely everything? Check!

Needless to say I absolutely adore Orion and Miko and their story is literately everything! I feel like every step we get closer to answers and happiness…bam! Life intervenes and throws another wrench in the plans. And that the ending??!! Good heavens! It’s going to have you screaming for more, more, more.

The zombie apocalypse develops further on, with the zombies evolving and getting hungrier. Miko and Orion develop further their feelings too, yet the existence of their relationship seems to be doomed - the prophecy, the fae suddenly wanting Orion back, and Lance following his own agenda. Despite everything, though, hope prevails..
The second book in this series is full of emotions, ranging from despair through hope to love. There are many twists and surprising revelations, especially the cliffhanger is a big one. I am totally cheering for Miko and Orion to find a way out of this mess, reconnect, and come out victorious from all their battles.

I have been reading this author for a while, and I quite enjoy his writing. In this second book in the series, we see our friends on the run from the biters, but something is changing with them, and they need to get to the bottom of it. And, boy, do we learn some interesting things in this latest installment. The end blew me away, too, with poor Miko and Orion in different situations, and I’m not sure how this is going to shake out. Fans will love this latest. Recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

This is book two in a series (so a gentle note here that you’ll want to start with book one, if you haven’t already). The plot starts quickly and keeps moving, which makes this installment of the larger story feel like a heck of a ride. Along the way— peril and feeling and twists and revelations and zombies— it’s easy to get pulled in, from start to end (and what an end) and it definitely makes me want book three… Tl;dr: well worth a read.

The plot twists continue unabated in this one and I enjoyed it even more than the first book. I've not read many zombie novels as they usually aren't my thing, but I knew Richard Amos would find a story to tell and characters I could care about so I dove right in and I'm so glad I did. There are some great set-ups for the conclusion of the trilogy and some characters who I believe deserve to get their just deserts, but I'm sure Amos will change my mind about some of them and surprise me all over again in the next book.

Awaiting Book 3!

Maki and Orion, two star-crossed lovers amid a futuristic zombie apocalypse connected to learning about the main character's family heritage, are the subject of this second to last novel of this series. The narrative of this story is filled with action, suspense, and terror, and its perception of safe havens is erratic. The primary protagonists come to trust one another as well as a select group of pals. I am excitedly awaiting book 3, the last volume in the series, because of the fantastic ending.

This book grabbed my attention from the first page. I loved the first book and this second book definitely amped it all up. Orion and Miko have a lot to deal with and need to learn a lot of hard truths. There’s a lot against them besides just the zombies. There was non stop action from the moment the book started and I could not set it down. I love these characters so much! And that ending just wow. I wasn’t expecting some of it and definitely want so much more! These guys have a lot to get through but they do also have each other.

Blood of Dawn is book 2 of the Curse of Dawn series, and I highly recommend reading the books in order.
This story was as fast-paced and action-packed as the first book.
Miko and Orion go on such a wonderful journey as they discover their bond, and it seems the more Miko fights his feelings, the stronger the relationship grows.
But that ending… I was literally on the edge of my seat… I might have looked a little crazy, but I regret nothing and can’t wait for the next one…

OMG. So good. This is book 2 in the series and they must be read in order for the overlying arc. Orion and Miko are getting closer as they try to navigate the zombie filled world because of Dawn. They are trying to figure out how they can turn their world around and how it got started. With Trey’s prediction in their minds, they worry about the future. Great action filled world with great chemistry and heat between them. Cannot wait to read the final book to see how it will turn out.

Miko and Orion are still in the thick of it in book 2 of this post-apocalyptic, zombie invested world. Revelations are made, secrets uncovered and prophecies on told. Miko and Orion's love only gets stronger, as is the bond between those they care about. There is plenty of action, as Lance is still on the prowl and won't leave well enough alone. This book does end with a pretty significant cliffhanger so, be ready.

Great continuation of the series

Miko and Orion are back again.
The fight continues and their relationship is developing throughout a most difficult time.
There's zombies to fight and an enemy who pops up at the most inopportune times.
There's plenty of fast paced action, danger, drama and the plot twists keep coming.
The found family aspect was wonderful and I can't wait to see what happens next.
