The Rockview Omegaverse #4

Pack Gamble: Part One

Rate this book
This is every omega’s dream … right?

Waking up in a stranger's bed and discovering I’m married to one of the wealthiest men on the planet sounds like some crazy dream.

Discovering that the man in question is also some holy hot alpha and we’re not only married but bonded, sounds like one of those dreams that turn pretty steamy – a dream many women would give their right arm to be living.

But when the alpha whisks me back to his mansion in the city of Rockview, I also discover this alpha has a pack.

A pack convinced this wasn't some drunken accident. A pack determined to believe I’m a gold digger out to part them with their gigantic piles of cash.

Maybe this isn’t such a dream situation after all.

And maybe that would be fine if my battered omega heart wasn't falling for the five alphas involved.

***

This novel is part one of a duet – happy ending coming in part two.

If you love the sauciness and steam of omegaverse with the sweetness of contemporary romance, heroes with hard shells and soft interiors, and heroines who fight for what they want, you’ll love Hannah Haze’s soft and steamy books - omegaverse set in our world.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I wish there was less smut in this. I wanted the characters to get to know each other outside of sex a bit more. There were barely any non-sexual scenes between the FMC and male characters.

Also, Max is a pretty useless character. I wish he was scrapped and not included because he's essentially just a combination of Declan and Jonah, but less interesting. I don't think he had any scenes alone with the FMC.

Also, the FMC's mom just sucks.

I try REALLY HARD not read duets before they're complete. My dumb ass walked right into this one before she did her research. I felt like this whole plot was over-dramatic, so imma' take a star, because I feel like it distracted from--what was otherwise--a top tier effort.

BUT THE CLIFFHANG.
Ugh. Duets are mean.
But like, I get it.

Merry reading!

I’m a simple girl. Show me an omegaverse RH with lots of MMCs becoming obsessed with their sweet FMC, and I’ll probably like it — even if I can’t always tell 3 of the 5 MMCs apart. Ends on a cliffhanger.

I really wanted to like this one but I just couldn’t. Tbh this is more of a rant and will likely contain some spoilers.
The men were wildly underdeveloped, Max, Declan, and Cruise were all basically the same person. Kent and Jonah were the only two who felt like they had any personality. Cruise only stood out because he’s the one bonded to Avery. There was almost no relationship building between the guys and Avery. Jonah was basically the only one she held a real conversation with where they learned something about one another.
The rest all went from wanting to stay away from her until the bond settled and she could leave to sex all hours of the day within a couple days (or instantly in the case of Cruise which is the only one that made any sense). No conversations, no interactions of any kind, just jumped right into sex. But somehow they’re all falling in love???

I also found Avery to be super annoying and immature. Felt like she was an air headed teen not a girl in her mid 20s. Zero impulse control and not a deep thought to be found. She also has zero backbone and self awareness and just kind of exists at the whim of everyone around her.
Jacks is a shitty friend and also annoyed the crap out of me. Hated damn near every scene with her in it. I can’t stand the hype girl bestie trope. She was supposed to be there to help keep Avery focused and give her support. After a light warning that Avery tends to lead with her heart and fall quickly she basically pushes her into getting it on freely with the guys, get hammered at an event, and makes so many comments about how rich Avery is going to be and can’t wait to take advantage of it all. 10/10 could never act like this with my friends.

The ending was also so stupid and it seems like the next book is going to be about the guys trying to win Avery back even though I think the blame falls almost completely on Avery’s shoulders. How are you going to sit there and let your mom go on and on about how excited she is to take advantage of the pack’s wealth and not say a thing? Same with Jacks, like hello??? If you aren’t in it for the money maybe say something about it? And then to not say a thing to show otherwise when confronted???? Stupid honestly.

All that aside, I also feel like there are so many inconsistencies between this book and the others in this universe. Feels like the author changes things up to fit each story instead of having consistent “rules” across the whole series.

Overall, definitely the weakest book in this series and might put me off this author completely.

The first half started exciting but then fizzled. I’m sorry Pack Gamble wasn’t as strong as the previous books. It might’ve been nicer to continue with the existing threads maybe the kids’ stories, or Molly’s best friend (she had two different packs like her; that could’ve continued). Instead, we’re introduced to a new Omega/Alpha pairing that doesn’t really connect to the other packs from before other that they work together with added nothing to the story just one part in a chapter.

For me, the love between the Alpha and Omega didn’t feel developed enough. The cliffhanger also felt unnecessary Book One and Two should’ve been a single story; if they were, this would likely rate higher. Overall, it was okay, but the excitement, drama, and love I expected were missing here.

Verdict: Disappointing compared to the earlier books. I wanted deeper connections and a more of the ruined omegaverse I grown to love.

Huh. I was wondering how they’d screwed things up. Kent’s fault and then the others for believing. Stupid. Cruise was bonded, how’d he expect her to fake it?? Declan was easy going. Jonah was sweet with his books. Max seemed to be the observer and Kent the final obstacle that did his job well. Idiots. Miscommunication cliffhanger.

So it's been a bit since I read this, but I know I ultimately enjoyed it. I tried to give Pack Rivals a try a while ago. I really liked the premise of that book, but I felt like it was just too much going on and ultimately didn't like it, so I was a bit skeptical when I went into this book since it's by the same author and in the same universe. But I think these are all pretty much standalones. And I think the writing was a bit better for me in this book than it was in Pack Rivals. I think I read the first book? And couldn't really get through the second, or I didn't finish the first book lol.

This was pretty simple and basic. Pretty much had a feeling of where it was going to go and how it was going to end, especially since it's two parts. Had a feeling there would be this breakup at the end as that's typically how these types of books/duets go. But I still enjoyed it. This is only the second woke up married trope I've read and I kinda like it because I feel like it's interesting in the beginning where the author will take it.

I think the biggest issue I had with the book was not really being able to tell the guys apart for quite awhile. Cruise was easy because that's who she was married and bonded to. And then Kent stood out too since he was the grumpy one and wanted nothing to do with her. And was pretty much the only one who stuck to that. Declan kinda stood out to me a little bit too towards the middle? Or was the first between him and Max and Jonah. But Max and Jonah blended together for quite a bit. So I wish there was a bit more we got with these guys, I know it's advertised as being a medium burn so I kinda expected there to be a good amount of smut scenes. But I just wanted a bit more to develop between her and some of these guys. I feel like her connection with Cruise is pretty solid. And I think she had a convo with Kent that was pretty good? But everything else with the others was all alpha/omega urges and sex basically.

One of the other biggest issues I had was mostly towards the end. I felt overall her friend Jacks being there didn't make much sense because she was supposed to keep an eye on her and basically be the buffer so she didn't have sex with the others, but she literally doesn't do anything to stop it. And ultimately encourages it. I mean if she wanted her friend there I think that's fine, just the premise of it felt dumb to me especially when she doesn't do any of said things. But then towards the very end Jacks and her mother are basically gushing over how she's so rich now and landed this rich pack. And it just irked me. Simply because Avery makes it out like she doesn't care about that kind of stuff and how she just genuinely likes these guys. Yet when her and Jacks have this convo she never corrects Jacks or says she's not in it for the money. And then when her mom is going on and on on speaker phone (which Cruise ends up overhearing) again she never says anything or is like hey that's enough. Like literally nothing. Then when they are at some bar together Jacks is like lets keep drinking these expensive drinks, it's on the guys tab. I think Avery has an internal moment at some point being like uncomfortable or not wanting to take advantage or whatever, so I just don't understand why she never vocalized any of this. To her best friend or to her mother. So it really feels like she agrees with it and is shallow. Idk I just wish she would've said something and stood up. Especially since it feels like the only reason she doesn't, is so there can be a book two. Plus I just found Jacks to be annoying more often than not.

I can understand when her and Cruise have this confrontation of like I don't want to defend myself, if this is what you think...blah blah blah kind of mindset, but I also kinda find that to be a cop out sometimes. Again just feels like a way to write a book two. And considering she apparently really loves these guys, I'm not saying she needs to be on her knees like begging or groveling, but why can't she simply just say something or explain herself or something? Again just feel like this easy cop out to be like I'm walking away now. You like them. Fight for yourself. Fight for the relationship you want.

Also again trying to remember, but I think there were a few times where there was cringe like dirty talk lol. And just had me kinda cringing and laughing at the same time. And I think some of that contributed to the fact I never really connected with some of these guys.

I think ultimately this is why it wasn't a higher read for me. It was enjoyable for the most part. But not being able to tell the guys apart and then that whole ending really threw it for me. However, I will probably still read book two, I just will go into it like I did this one. Low expectations and hope it's light and cute which is kinda what this whole book pretty much is, with smut thrown into it.

Audiobook Duet narration: Charlie K James & Brian Kozak

I really liked the first 3 books of The Rockview Omegaverse Series. So i was happy to continue.
I liked the idea of waking up married to a stranger. The beginning was good. The smut started a bit early for me (at 20%) bui get it it's a omegaverse there is always smut. Though were the first 3 book had a lot of story especially in the beginning i found that this book has to much to fast for me. ( I mean the pack made a packed that they wouldn't fick the omega and then one chapter later some other pack members are also fucking the omega.) Also i hated the way they kept referring to Avery as the omega. The story got a bit better later on but i still didn't like it as much as i had hoped.

The narration: I was pleasantly surprised that it was duet narrated. Which is my favorite narration cause i feel it adds to the story. The female narrator was good, she did a really good job on the female voices. Only the male narrator, i mean i liked that he tried to distinguish the five male leads, cause i get it, it's hard especially in a group conversation. But the voices omg i couldn't stand the weird voices he made for all the pack members except for cruise. The heavy low voices or high pitched for different members it was just too much. I couldn't finish the audiobook and switched to the ebook. The male narrator was just so bad.

Pack Game: Part One is the fourth book in The Rockview Omegaverse series written by Hannah Haze.

💜 small town girl
💜 omegaverse
💜 large pack
💜 forced proximity
💜 🌶🌶🌶🌶 spicy spice

Avery’s head is pounding. Why or why did she have to drink so much last night? Peaking through her eyes to try and dissipate the bright light, she doesn’t recognize where she is. Ok first, she’s in Vegas. Check. This room and bed are not her hotel room. Check? And there’s something warm next to her. Peaking again, an alpha? Ugh. Next thing, need to get her clothes to get out. Wait. What is that white fluffy thing on the chair? And confetti? No no no no. Did she get married? To a stranger? What happened? And can she get it annulled before everyone finds out?

O. M. G.! What a crazy good addition to the Rockview universe. You can read this without reading the first three, but it is still part of the same world as the other and if you read the first three it will add to the depth of this story. This book pushed and pulled at my feelings throughout the entire thing. I was sad when it came to an end and a major cliffhanger at that. Ugh!!! Come one part two. I can’t wait to get my hands on you to see what happens next.

I Love it I love it I love it!!! I never want these books to stop coming. And this accidental marriage trope is so perfect!!!

I'm like a number 1 fan of Hannah Haze at this point! I get so happy everytime there's an email with a new release!

Jacks is an awesome wing woman and best friend. And Avery has such genuine excitement and love of life! I loved the little moment in the library with Jonah. It was adorable!!

There are misunderstandings and heavy groveling to deal with in part 2. I'm so glad I waited for once in my life for part 2 to come out before reading part 1. For my own sanity, knowing how these perfect books usually end, I needed to wait.

That dog better not die, I swear to the goddess!!

Pack Gamble Part One (The Rockview Omegaverse Book 4) by Hannah Haze is a paranormal romance with accidental marriage and why choose tropes. This a roller coaster of emotions book. I laughed, got frustrated, wanted to chuck the book, swooned, and cried. If an author can make you feel all that you know they did a good job. The plot was interesting and exciting so I flew right through it.
Avery is an Omega who wakes up with Cruise an Alpha and SURPRISE they are bonded and married. The real fun begins when they meet his pack who do not trust her.
I really enjoyed and felt all the emotions Avery did. I am looking forward to book 2 to learn what happens next.

Sweet and sour

This is the first book I have read by this author and I really enjoyed it. This is an Omegaverse but the plot is a bit different than most. There is plenty of steam and lots of kn*tting. This is part one of a duet so it ends on a pretty brutal cliffhanger. I am looking forward to book two and some epic groveling.

A fun book that is only the first half of the story. Take one sweet, disaster-prone omega and a pack of alphas who have been sought after by too many gold-diggers and you have a disaster waiting to happen. The story is wrought with humor, tons of spicy bedroom aerobics and a hefty dose of doubt about true intentions! This story does end on a cliffhanger so be ware and have the next book ready to go!

What a great Omegaverse book! There are all sorts of tropes and kinks in this one: dirty talk, DVP, group sex, knotting, reverse harem, accidental marriage, and a billionaire trope. Be warned it ends on kind of a third act breakup and cliffhanger, but part two of the duet is already out, so you can start the next one right away. As is the case with most Omegaverse books, the FMC gets attached to one alpha at the beginning of the story and things escalate very quickly with the rest of the pack. Save for one, brooding asshole, who isn't swayed until the end of the story. But, none of them are super open and honest about their feelings and assumptions are made about the intentions of the FMC, so the book ends with the alphas knowing they've messed up, but the Omega is already gone. Definitely going to be some groveling in the next one.
Even though there is a lot of spice in this book, it is not the most descriptive when getting down to the nitty gritty. A whole lot is left unsaid or undescribed and the reader infers a lot of things when they're having any kind of group sex. So, I would say that the spice is a 3/5, because even though it had the potential to be a deliciously dirty book, there were a lot of holes left in the end results of the spicy scenes. Hoping that the next one is better! If you are a fan of Omegaverse novels, this is definitely one you should check out!

Part One of @hannahhazewrites newest duology has delivered the best, angsty and surprising sweetverse read.

Avery finds herself married (and bond3d) to an alpha after a 1N.stand, with absolutely no recollection. Social status, personal doubts and a VERY reluctant pack dynamic make for an put-down-able story of 5 alphas muddling their way through uncharted territory.

The way Haze flipped the pack/bonding script on its head for this duology was fantastic. This was well written and had everything I love about the genre, pesky b0nds, scenting, and 🪢. I love a bro0dy character, and an om3g@ that knows what she wants and speaks her mind.

Knowing this will finish with a HEA gives me life, even if I am currently in a miserable state of anticipation and salivating for the grovel that we all know is coming 👀

I thought it was impossible to top Pack Choice, however Avery and the alph@s did just that!
An omeg@vers.3 delight! 5💫

avery isn’t known for being the most levelheaded person in a room. she’s best described as impulsive and happy-go-lucky. she hasn’t had the best track record for good decisions and she doesn’t want to add another tally mark especially since she just got married after one night in vegas.

the bond is newly formed so she can’t be separated from her alpha without searing pain jolting through both of them. she follows him to rockview to stay in his pool house for the next few weeks while they come up with a plan to get the marriage annulled after the bond settles. she invites her best friend jacks to stay with her as a safety precaution since she’s about to move in with four other guys she’s never met.

jonah and declan got their undergraduate degree in math. max in computer science. cruise and kent have their degrees is business. declan is the first pack mate of his she meets and he’s immediately in her corner. kent on the other hand is doesn’t trust her intentions, thinking she pulled off an elaborate scheme to get in his packmates bed. he has the rest of his pack make a pact to keep their distance from the omega.

max is the next one to fold, not able to resist the omega for long. the three of them plot to get jonah to see reason and want her to stay permanently in their pack. they give her a tour of his library and she convinces him to add a romance section to his collection. he takes her to an indie bookstore the next day and buys fifty books that he plans to read simply because she loves them.

kent hires a PI to investigate avery, and he finds out that she’s an actress. he thinks she’s been playing them this entire time and breaks the news to his packmates. cruise is easily swayed after overhearing part of a conversation avery had with her mom. he heard them talk about his money and he ket doubt settle in to his mind.

avery gets back from having drinks with her friends to find cruise waiting at the end of the long driveway. she’s startled to find an impenetrable stone wall blocking their bond. she doubles over in pain from the severed connection, confused over his cold demeanor toward her. he confronts her about her being an actress but she doesn’t see why he would be upset. recognition dawns as she realizes that he thinks the worst of her. he had the housekeepers pack her belongings and she’ll be boarding their private jet to leave their property. he arranged for his lawyers to be in contact to annul the marriage and he’ll coordinate their bond being permanently severed and he does nothing but let her go.

kent isn’t relieved to see their omega leave, and the depressed state the rest of his pack is in now that she’s gone. his PI stops by for an unexpected visit, handing over video footage of the hotel in vegas. the tape shows cruise approaching her first. he walks by her and he just catch her scent because his head turns in her direction. he takes a seat nearby as he watches her place bets, and he moves to sit next to her as soon as the seat is available.

This book had an awesome storyline and add some naughty time….chef’s kiss! 🤌🏼 I was routing for Avery every step of the way as her backstory seemed to always be unlucky. She was definitely lucky and hit the jackpot when she woke up bonded and married to Cruise Hamilton of the Hamilton Pack. I loved the fact that we got each pack member’s viewpoint as well as Avery’s. Absolutely LOVED this book. The end left me wanting more. I’m stoked for book two! My first of many reads from Hannah Haze.

Absolutely Incredible read

Avery the lead female character is a loveable. She’s down to earth, admits easily to her flaws, like messing up situations all the time, gets lost easily so she has a tracker on her phone for her friends and family to find her, horrible luck in relationships, actually she admits she’s got terrible luck all the time. Things seem to go well, and then it spirals out of control. As we get to know Avery, Cruise, Declan and Jonah, it’s all going amazingly. Kent is holding back, he’s got a chip on his shoulder the size of Europe, but the more time he spends with her, he starts to see that maybe his gut instinct was incorrect about her. Then his private investigator sends him details on her life and how she went to school to be an actress. And it al goes down hill from there. Cruise witnessed and heard a phone call with Avery and her mom, her mom was gushing about their wealth and although he didn’t hear Avery gush like her mom, he instantly had doubts that she was with him because of his money. After Kent spilled the beans about her acting career and that she’s been playing them all along, his heart froze into a glacier the size of earth. We all knew it was coming as this is a duet but it was hard to read Avery’s heart break. I do wish that Kent had more information given to him from his P.I than just the video of her gambling before she met Cruise in Vegas at the casino. It’s then that he realizes he screwed up. I think there should have been more evidence than just a video. He didn’t even get mad at his P.I since this guys information just blew up their chance at happiness. I wanted solid proof laid out for the guys so they knew without a shadow of a doubt that she wasn’t who they claimed she would be. They just broke her to pieces. Acted like she wasn’t who nothing, ignoring every moment of their short history together, and Cruise. He has access to her MIND and Thoughts! He didn’t find one spect of evidence to lead him to the conclusion that this was al an act but he shut down their relationship on her way back to them from a bar she went to with Jacks and Miranda. I sure hope the next book shows more evidence on how they are all absolutely retarded big alpha holes and they should have just trusted her instead of immediately assuming. I just only hope she makes them grovel, on their knees, apologizing till they’re blue in the face while she rejects them over and over again until she can finally see how wrong they were to break her heart into dust particles. My heart hurts for her.

Man oh man, does Hannah know how to write a damn good omegaverse. She sprinkles her stories with some sort of magic I swear 🩷🩷🩷

I love this story already. Avery is a smart and beautiful omega that tends to run into problems all the time. Avery kind of has this air of mystery about her too. I loved her personality, it kind of lights up a room and she makes friends with everyone she seems to interact with. She finds herself in a bit of trouble (a lot of trouble) when she lets go in vegas on a night out and ends up bonded and living with her new alpha that she also happened to be married to. Oh and did I forget to mention he is a Billionaire and has a pack???

Avery is definitely in over her head with this pack of alpha's. Their scents are beautiful and they are stunning. All very different but equally appealing especially to Avery. We have Cruise, Avery's bonded alpha. Love him, he's so stern but underneath it all he can't help but fall for his new omega. Declan, the playful alpha that is already smitten with Avery as soon as she arrives. Max, he put up a good fight but slowly fell into Avery, i hope to see more of him in Part 2. Jonah, he is the alpha that loves books and finds them as an escape. Kent, he is the one that doesn't like omegas and for that reason doesn't interact a lot with Avery until the very end of the story. Kent is definitely not my favourite but i do hope that my opinion of him does change. He is also the one that had a hand in that massive cliffhanger at the end. That made me cry a little bit... They better grovel extremely hard it part 2 because what they did to Avery was completely unnecessary. It's going to be an interesting Part 2...

Shout out to Jacks!!!! She's the best. I can't wait to see her in Part 2 also....

Thank you so much to Hannah and her incredible team for giving me the chance to read this story. I am forever grateful 🙏 All opinions are honest and my own 🩷

What happens when you go out for a night with your sister and friends, a night of your friend’s hen party to wake up the next day in a strangers room, not only that but he is there in the bed beside you, then the realization hits you – a just married sign, a wedding dress – oh dear.

Join Avery as she has to understand and comprehend this new bond that she has with her alpha, a man she knows nothing about (turns out he is Mr wealthy and is in a pack), and now they have to spend time together until their bond is weakened to enable them both to have freedom and not need to be in each other pockets. But let’s be honest having to be up close and personal with this guy isn’t going to be a hardship. Then she meets the rest of the pack now things are going to get interesting, each of these guys are hot, but they all had a rule no omega, their goals in life were work, work and work. Avery’s goal over the next period is just have some fun, nothing is wrong with that but the big thing to remember is no feelings.
These men will test her patience and as each man comes around to their own feelings will they all get their happily every after. When Kent finally gives in to his wants and lets Avery know where he stands everything unravels.

This book is part of a duet that ends on cliffhanger that will have you wanting to strangle all her men well two more than others. Can you really forgive when your heart is broken and destroyed.

This book is full packed fun from the start, with the realization of a bond being in place to finding a pack. Avery doesn’t see her worth and never felt she was one for a pact as she was deemed unworthy not from the right type of family etc. The interactions between Avery and her men are hot and comical and heartwarming until you feel your soul breaking for her.

Can’t wait for the next book.

I never thought, that I would love Pack Gamble so much to be honest. My usual experience with Hannah Haze's books so far were always vacillating between 'Oh, that one was amazing. I loved it' and 'it's ok and still great, but there are some issues I can't unsee, or I'm upset about'. So, it's toss how it will go.

So far, I never had a row of good experiences with the books. Like one book I read, and I do really love afterwards, and then comes a book that I don't love quite as much. But it's always a solid story and at least 4 stars so far.

Before this I read Pack Choice, which, by the way, I also loved. So, I was hesitant to read Pack Gamble, since my history is filled with those mixed feelings I mentioned. And issues along the way, that dampens my experience and excitement in general.

But Pack Gamble really topped Pack Choice. I was eager to read it since the moment I read the blurb.

Avery was an amazing character, who appears to be naive and clumsy, but she is very sensible and perceptive of the people around her and very intelligent.

I instantly liked her. Then there was Cruise. I loved how the story starts. And how they met was pretty different from her usual writing. And then the others guys who came into the mix piece by piece. It was well done. Each one of the alphas are unique and different in personality and feelings, as well as motives. But they have a great connection with her. Except for Kent for obvious reasons.

Of course, I knew it was a duet and that there would be heartbreak before the mending of hearts and the HEA.

Still, I was not prepared to read about it, and it was awful to witness since we know that it was an unnecessary hurt. And Avery deserves to be happy. But it was clear that there was more to the guys and her than we see. For now, it is a HEA. So, I will move on to the second. Hopefully the grovelling will be good, either.

What do you do when you wake up one morning with the hangover to top all hangover, no memories of the night before and to find yourself bonded and married to an extremely hot, wealthy Alpha who also has four other insanely attractive packmakes. Freak out considerably is the main thing that our FMC Avery does whilst the alpha Cruise Hamilton looks on in astonishment that this sweet honey smelling little omega has absolutely no idea who he is.

I enjoyed the characters, Avery was our Omega FMC and she was so down-to-earth and completely unbothered by Pack Hamilton's wealth and who they were in general. She's had her own trauma's and problems, and is fiercely independent wanting to do her own thing, earning her own money and fulfilling her own dreams, even if they have taken a beating. The alpha's were all different but complemented each other well, Cruise and Declan completely obsessed with the omega and immediately all in, Max the easily corruptible one and then Jonah and Kent who were more wary and not as interested having been burned by gold-digging omegas in the past. Eventually though Avery works her way past that and they end up just as enthralled by her being herself.

Overall, this was probably one of the smuttiest omegaverse reads I've read to date which complimented the story and the relationship development well. There could have been a little bit more done to improve the development between them but not much in my opinion. As for the cliffhanger ending, it literally broke my heart, even though I could see it coming and knew something was going to happen it was still so emotional when it did. I was so distraught and invested in their happily ever after that I immediately have to start the next book!

Omegaverse/RH-5 Alphas/Multi PoV

SYNPSIS (of Duet): This story is set in the Omegaverse. The FC, Avery, wakes up in Vegas where she is at her cousin's bachelorette party only to find she has bonded with and married an Alpha, Cruise. Due to the bond they need to stay close so Cruise takes the FC back to his house where she meets his pack and finds out that they are billionaires. Initially the others in the pack think that Avery is a gold digger but soon come around. All except one, Kent. There is a cliffhanger at the end of Book 1 with some drama and Book 2 is focussed on how the pack and Avery get their forever after.

The Duet is well written and enjoyable. It is light with limited angst and a bit of drama. There is some good world building and the characters are nicely developed although there is limited background for any of them so it feels a little superficial and two dimensional. Having said that the FC is likeable and shows some strength when treated badly by the MCs which made for a nice change as too often in omegaverse it translates to an FC who will let herself be treated badly and be grateful for it! There’s some grovelling by the MCs after they behave badly although I would have preferred it to be a bit more and there to a bit more guilt on the MCs’ side. I was still nice though.

My pet hate for this Duet was that the FC was consistently referred to as “Omega”. Not just in occasional scenes but ALL THE TIME by the MCs. For me this just came across as the MCs thinking of the FC as merely an object, a thing and not a person with a name and feelings. It’s as if they were constantly calling her “that girl” and couldn’t be bothered to remember she had a name.

That aside this was an enjoyable, light read.

A Book Worth Taking A Gamble On 😉

So, in the real world, if you married a stranger in Vegas, you’d realistically only have that person to have to deal with when deciding to end it, or to possibly explore it. Yeah well, in Hannah’s Omegaverse, Avery, an omega, has just found herself accidentally bonded to an alpha, Cruise, but he comes with a pack…yep, let the drama begin. The beauty of this storyline is that you get a bit of everything! You have a bit of slow, medium AND fast burn all in the same story, which led to some hot AF scenes 🔥 and because of the varying relationships forming within the pack, the emotions are all over the place. Avery handles her new situation as best she can, and the hope that she feels is so relatable. Watching her navigate the complexities of a pack who are divided on whether to believe her intentions was no less than a mega roller coaster of a ride all the way to the heartbreaker of an ending. As with Hannah’s 1st duet in this world, Avery’s men have some major groveling to do if they expect a HEA, but I KNOW Hannah is gonna make it some good groveling because she knows how to give us those moments & emotions in just the right way to hit us in all the feels 🙌🏻😭🥰 You definitely can read this with no prior knowledge of the previous 3 books, but it will definitely enhance your enjoyment if you do, or have. I can not wait for the second part to Avery’s story, but the torture is worth it, cause this one was absolutely amazing, so I know the 2nd part will be even better 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻❤️

DNF at 31%. I had gone ahead and went over Part Two blurb and some reviews and I tend to HATE groveling books because 90% of the time, books condition us that the men are always wrong, the FMC can NEVER do anything wrong, and the males have to grovel for her. I felt in my gut feeling that the reason they rejected her was primarily her fault. And I was right.

I skimmed over the last parts of the book. The idiot never ONCE corrected her mother as she went rambling on about the money and perks to being with a rich Pack. Never ONCE told her to stop talking that way or even correct her in saying that she isn't interested in that. NOT. ONCE. So, of course Cruise would think otherwise. And of course, they would reject her once they labeled her the same as every other omega who went after that. Sure, they should have investigated more about what happened at the casino. I don't understand how these rich men with so many resources took so long to have the security footage looked at. So that whole thing was on them and the way they treated her for it. But for everything else? Her fault. For being a spineless moron and not being firm with her mother on this.

It's why this is a hard DNF. I have 0 interest to read a groveling where the males are portrayed as the ones who were completely in the wrong, when she was also in the wrong. But heaven forbid a FMC be wrong and have to ask for forgiveness. That said, I also read the groveling in the book was also half-assed so there's that too.

What a stupid book.
