i had enjoyed most of the book, particularly gray's dom vibes and the age gap, but it was lacking a little for me.
one thing that really bugged me, was at the end when you find out she's pregnant, his sister and parents talk about being an aunt and having their first grand kids ... both his brothers have children so they already have nieces and grand kids ... its feels kind of major to drop the plot so much you forget a major point.
the book was fairly enjoyable but the above irritated me, hence the review.

This is an ARC and this is my honest review.
I devoured this book. Grayson is on New York for business and so is Hartley. They have a mix-up of reservations and end up eating dinner together. It was instant attraction from both ends. They end up having a one night stand, but she leaves him her number.
Little do they know, they will end up in the same little town. Hartley ends up being his lawyer for his divorce.
I couldn't put down this book. Like I said I devoured this book in a day and a half. I truly loved the instant attraction, especially because the FMC is curvy. The spicy scenes were *fanning myself* so good. If you love praise and a dirty mouth MMC, then this book is for you.

ARC BOOK REVIEW
I loved reading this book so much, Mackenzy and Dakotah Fox are both just so talented at writing amazing stories that have you hooked from the first page and I love what route they have gone down for this series. I absolutely love small town romances with cowboys and other tropes you can throw in there. But I did not expect this one at all, and the tropes are just amazing in this book.
Grayson meets Hartley at a fancy restaurant at the hotel he is staying at, where there is a table booking mishap, so they end up sharing the table together and instantly hit it off. That then leads them to having a very steamy one night stand together, which more feelings are developed to one another than they anticipated. Grayson is in the midst of a divorce with his absolutely horrible ex. This is a big part of the plot.
What I did not expect was that the next time they see each other again its because Hartley is filling in for her dad at his law firm and is put on Grayson's divorce case. Talk about awkward at that moment. I loved the fact that the author's did this, I have never seen this in a book before, and I thought it was so creative.
This book was just perfection, I loved the way it was wrote and I loved all of the side characters in this book along side our main ones, they really get you excited to see what the other characters stories may end up like. Seeing Grayson and Hartley's bond grow stronger even when they tried to act professional but ended up throwing that to the wind. These two characters were always meant to be together, and seeing them realise was just so sweet to read.
I can't wait to see what other books the authors write for this series as this one is amazing, so I can only see them getting better and better. Grayson and Hartley hold a special place in my heart, and they got the best ending I could have hoped for them.

This is Book one in this new series by Mackenzy and Dakotah Fox. There is aldo a prequal novella called Celeste & Callan, where we meet all the characters.
In this book, we meet big brother Grayson (Gray), when he is in New York after dealing with some familybusiness mentioned in the prequel. And is now taking a few days to himself before moving home to Tennesse.
At dinner in the fancy hotel, the restaurant has doublebooket the table, so Grayson finds himself in front of a drop dead gorgeous woman, and they decide to split the table and enjoy this meal together. Meal turning to drinks, turning to sweet touches and soon they are having the best night of their life between the sheets, without really knowing who the other person is.
Next morning Grayson wakes up alone and is one grumpy dude. He wanna see this girl again but going through his divorce and moving back home, but he don’t know when.
Going to.. Hartley is leaving the sexiest man she has even seen sleeping in his hotelroom, only leaving her number in his wallet. She has to go back to Boston and then move to help her sick dad at his law firm. She is meeting with a bog client, and before even thinking it, Grayson is standing in the office with her, her dad and another lawyer. Grayson and Hartley have one amazing night with each other in New York…it was only supposed to be one night. But they are drawn to one another. Hartley is an accomplished lawyer that is at a crossroads in her career and decides to take a leap of faith to move closer to family. Grayson is in the midst of divorce and is moving back to his hometown to be closer to family and their family business.
Hartley is so kind but a little unsure of herself. She has also seemed to play second fiddle to her brother, and is always trying to prove herself…not only to her dad but herself. I love how Grayson saw her and loved her exactly for who she was. He never wanted to change her, just wanted to stand next to her and admire her brains, beauty and kindness. Grayson comes across so gruff, and definitely life has jaded him. He loves the push pull especially with his brothers….and best friend. But then he meets Hartley and he falls head over heels so quickly! I love how she just embraced him for who he was and let him be open, and pour out his heart and soul to her. When Grayson and Hartley make the decision to go all in, they do just that. They build a beautiful relationship and love that is evident to those around them!
Sometimes world building can be hard, but I thoroughly enjoyed the introduction to the Bassett family, their distillery and their hometown of Stoney Creek, Tennessee. The Bassett family is amazing, dynamic and full of amazing characters! I loved the relationship that they all had with each other and the fun banter! They are the epitome of what a small town should be! I felt like we got just enough of each of the siblings that I am eagerly awaiting all of their stories and to view Grayson and Hartley from another perspective! Looking forward to the next book in this series!

Oh my god, Grayson's story is a five burning hot 🔥 stars read . After a few glimpses of him in the prequel novella for the Bassett Brothers Bourbon series I was so curious about him . After all he orchestrated a perfect revenge and did Karma's work and I wanted to know his story. I read Grayson and Hartley's story in a day and I couldn't put it down. Grayson is loyal, smart, values family high and has a dream about his life and watching it crumbling to the ground after a betrayal derailed him a little. And at that point in his life he meets Hartley . Hartley is smart , charming and sassy and I loved her . After a mixed restaurant reservation they decided to share a dinner together and have an unforgettable one night stand. Their chemistry is of the charts and the tension between them is palpable . Even though they are on a crossroads in their lives they stayed connected but neither of them said where they are moving on. Grayson is returning to his hometown and Hartley is moving in the small town where is her family to help her father with his law practice. And that's how on a Friday Hartley ends up being Grayson's divorce lawyer. Oh my, I loved their banter and Hartley's determination to follow the rules and Grayson braking them at every chance he gets. For him Hartley is his dream girl and he's not missing a minute without her. Grayson is thoughtful and swoon worthy but oh so dirty talking behind closed doors where he unleash his dominant side . And Hartley is perfect match for him. I loved it that they got their happily ever after and Grayson finally had his dream come true.

I have been loving small town and cowboy romances here lately, which has been a refreshing change for me. This is my first book by these two authors, and I can say that I will be going back for more. This story was amazingly written, and having two authors writing the same book that says a lot about how well they work together. I won't begin to imagine how that would work, but for these two, it works amazingly well. The characters were everything in this book, and I totally fell in love with both of them. Their development and the way this book was written was amazing. One thing about me is that I need a good genuine connection with the characters in order to really get into a book, and this book had that. There were some pretty awesome side characters in the book. I can't wait to see what other books form from this series. I'm very excited to see what the future holds.

Between the pages of this well penned romance we meet two people who find themselves in a very delicate situation, one that could wreck everything in their lives, or give them exactly what they didn't know they needed. It started with a one night stand, no names, no digits, just pure dirty fun... and nothing more. But when Grayson arrives back Stoney Creek Hartley winds up being one of the first people he happens to run into, and what's even more surprising about their little run-in is that she has been hired as his families new lawyer, the very lawyer that will be handling his divorce... talk about awkward. Now they must decide if they want to act like it never happened, or pick up where they left off...
Oh these two really brought it all to the pages, they kicked things off with a steamy one nighter, then their little run-in and subsequent new partnership just helped to amp up the desire and feelings simmering between them... avoiding the obvious was pretty much impossible for them. These two sisters are epic, when they write together.
This is a new Small Town Series and it was the perfect start.
Gray is the oldest in their family and has a dream of his own family cabin near the stream and lots of children. Unfortunately his wife of 10 yrs wasn't who he thought she was.
Now ready to divorce and start his dream on his own, he is in New York for one night. It all starts with him taking someone else's table. Really it was Fate.
Hartley is a curvy woman. She is dedicated to her lawyer job and really has Jo time to play. So this one night in New York, might be just what she needs. When she gets to her table, it is occupied.
There is an instant electrifying spark. I felt it through the words in pages, it was that good.
One night and move on. Both don't have time or so they thought.
Few weeks later Fate plays again and they both are in same Small Town and she is his divorce lawyer. Totally off Limits!!!
As if that is enough to stop the chemistry from imploding.
I enjoyed this soooo much, I didn't even know where the time went while I was reading it. It really transports you to their small town and mingle in with their lives. Now ready to divorce and start his dream on his own, he is in New York for one night. It all starts with him taking someone else's table. Really it was Fate.
Hartley is a curvy woman. She is dedicated to her lawyer job and really has Jo time to play. So this one night in New York, might be just what she needs. When she gets to her table, it is occupied.
There is an instant electrifying spark. I felt it through the words in pages, it was that good.
One night and move on. Both don't have time or so they thought.
Few weeks later Fate plays again and they both are in same Small Town and she is his divorce lawyer. Totally off Limits!!!
As if that is enough to stop the chemistry from imploding.
I enjoyed this soooo much, I didn't even know where the time went while I was reading it. It really transports you to their small town and mingle in with their lives. Grayson and Hartley is the first book in the new Bassett Brothers Bourbon series, and despite the drama around the main lead getting divorced from his ex, it was a genuinely feel-good read with low angst, plenty of passion, and some brilliant banter too.
Grayson and Hartley met one night in New York. Following a mix-up with reservations, they are both seated at the same table, and not wanting to cause problems, they decide to enjoy a meal together, which leads to flirting, talking, and the agreement of one night together. Although they both agree it will be just one night, they both feel the magnetic draw to each other and are happy when, a few weeks later, they find themselves in each other's company once again.
I really enjoyed the relationship between Grayson and Hartley; they had brilliant chemistry and flirty banter that made me smile. They were so comfortable together that even when they are trying to avoid their relationship, there is a pull that keeps them coming back together—noticeably because they both make each other happy, as is referenced by many people with the mention of Grayson whistling and not being his usual grumpy self. Though Georgia (Gray's sister) will blame it on the woo-woo, it seems fate had its plans all along, and Grayson and Hartley are each other's destiny.
Although there aren't masses of interactions with other characters in the series, the ones featured in the book are just enough to not only set up the family and town dynamics but also showcase some of the relationships that exist or hint at those that will be explored in the future.

WOW!! Starting off this incredible story with one hell of an erotic one-night stand, literally gave me full body tingles – SO HOT! And after those first few chapters, I needed to put the book down to let my body cool off before I dived into the real meat of the story!
I think I knew, right when their eyes locked onto each other for the very first time, that Grayson and Hartley were soulmates. Sparks were definitely flying as they slowly got to know one another over the course of their first night together.
As they go their separate ways, I loved how there was this undeniable connection between them and that they were both desperate to find each other again. Fate definitely had plans for these two to be together.
The pull between Grayson and Hartley was fiercely strong and they had a very hard time keeping their hands off each other. Every time they were together the lust, desire and craving just oozed off them – and DAMN was it ever HOT!!!
The banter between all the characters was filled with teasing, jokes, insults, sarcasm and laughs that just had me giggling, but there was a whole lot of deliciously hot swoon worthy, and filthy banter too!
I loved this story and all the incredible characters (except for one devious and hateful ex). The story was well written and filled with emotional turmoil, drama, heartache, passion and love. Plus, the little twists and turns throughout had me on the edge of my seat hoping and craving for a happy ever after.
I devoured every delicious moment of this amazing story and can’t wait for the next one in this new series.

I received a copy of this arc in exchange for my honest review. Well the small town romance trope can be added to a trope that Mackenzy and Dakotah can ABSOLUTELY ROCK. This book was charming and HOT all at the same time. Grayson and Hartley meet in NYC while away for work, accidentally get stuck at the same table together because of a restaurant mix up ,and have the night of their lives together. When they part, only Hartley leaves her contact information. Neither can stop thinking about the other, despite it being a “ one time thing.”
They walk into a big surprise when Grayson goes to meet with his divorce lawyer, and finds Hartley who’s taken over as his attorney.
These two form such a solid and deep connection that neither can seem to stay away from one another. I loved how both were equally strong for one another and straight up with their feelings, not playing games. Gray is serious and carries a grumpy persona to many around him, but being with Hartley completely changes him, and everyone around him can see it.
I love how close knit the Basset family is and really enjoyed the sibling banter. I love the small-town feel where everyone knows everyone, and can not wait for more of the Basset crew and where their lives will lead.

First of all, Let me say that I really enjoyed the story of Grayson and Hartley immensely. I have a soft spot for romantic westerns, so that includes this one!
I personally really love the western atmospheres portrayed in these books. I dare to say that visiting a real ranch is high on my dream list. So I wouldn't be surprised to fall in love with the area and end up not wanting to leave, haha.
What I love about the story is that it is not all sunshine and roses. It deals with serious issues that can happen to anyone. In my opinion, this is what sets the book apart from other westerns I have read. Grayson, an (almost) divorced man and Hartley, his divorce lawyer. I think it is an original story. In addition, the story gives me a very family feel from the start.
You can tell from the name romantic western that there is obviously plenty of romance in the story. Who would have thought Grayson could also be so softhearted? Instantly you fall in love with the characters. You are certainly not short on spice either. Chapters long (read: more in a row) you can enjoy the hot scenes between Grayson and Hartley. There is more than enough humor and drama in the lives of Gray, Hart and their family. I also really enjoyed reading about what things were like a year later!

I dove right into the Bessett Brothers, which will not disappoint & starts with oldest Grayson whom loves to dominate & praise in the bedroom. This is an age gap romance, but Grayson has the stigma & energy of any 20 year old especially in the bedroom. After finding his wife having an affair, he finds himself moving back to Stoney Creek to help his family with the distillery, along with dealing with a nasty divorce. Before he makes the big move fate plays a big role in setting Hartley in his view & things definitely hit it off between the two of them, but it was supposed to be a one night thing. The connection between these two was incredible & the way Gray literally worshiped her like a goddess was amazing. Even when fate brought them back together under different circumstances, the way they were having trouble keeping the confidentiality agreement in place was hilarious. Hartley is a strong woman & will not back down when it comes to her career & clients, she has always felt he needed to prove herself to her father & so she has always pushed herself, so when she gets thrown into the firm after her dads scare, she proves that she is truly amazing at her job. I was utterly shocked that Miss Keira could or was capable of doing what she did, thank goodness for security footage. Overall Im obsessed with these two & when he called her a “good girl” I was a puddle on the floor, but I did love Graysons family & brothers, I can’t wait to see what happens with Gabe.

This is book 1 in the Stoney Creek series by the dynamo Fox sisters. There is a novella that I suggest reading prior to jumping into this one as it gives a good background start to the siblings that this series will feature. Each book will follow one of the siblings and their budding relationship.

I was excited to read Grayson & Hartley from the moment I read the first blurb and I was not disappointed! It was even better than I was expecting and the perfect introduction to a new series. Their restaurant meet cute was chef's kiss (pun intended). The night they spent together...just WOW! The instant attraction and openness they felt with each other was an indication that their one night was going to be so much more.
Neither of them could stop thinking about the other and quickly realized their one night stand was not going to be enough. Imagine their surprise when an unplanned reunion was because Hartley ends up being Grayson's divorce lawyer. The way they navigated their complex situation, and his family drama while constantly being drawn to each other was so beautifully written and will make you fall in love with this couple that were so clearly meant to be.
The relationship and genuine love between this couple was heartwarming and so well written. When a one night stand turns into forever you know you found your person and Grayson and Hartley were absolute couple goals!

This was my first book by the Fox Sisters and wow it was good. The chemistry between Grayson and Hartley was on fire. These two experienced real life events together and it made them stronger in the end. The emotional depth this book went into was felt to my bones. The character development for both Grayson and Hartley was great. This book kept me on my toes and on the edge of my seat.

These two experienced real life events together and it made them stronger in the end. The emotional depth this book went into was felt to my bones. The character development for both Grayson and Hartley was great. This book kept me on my toes and on the edge of my seat.

Let’s start off with how much I love both of the main characters. Grayson is a true grump, but he's also kinda intimidating in a cool way. Yet, he's the biggest sweetheart to Hartley and wears his heart on his sleeves. Our fmc is the best. She is an amazing lawyer who is really driven, a sunshine on the outside and inside, works hard, and cares a lot about others.
Both of them actually do. Right from the start, you can feel the attraction between the main characters. It's like they knew deep down they were meant to be together.
Grayson isn't pushy at all; he listens to what Hartley wants and needs. Fate plays a funny role in bringing these characters together. Grayson is proud of his family legacy, and the side characters, especially Grayson and Gabriel, add a lot to the story.
What I also want to point out is that the authors described the surroundings so well that you can imagine exactly what they look like. But also that the book boldly embraces the idea of being a stay-at-home dad, highlighting it as a wonderful and valuable role.
The farm setting sounds so peaceful; it makes you wish you were there.
The ending ties everything up perfectly, making it the best conclusion for this amazing love story.

Grayson is in the process of getting a divorce when he meets Hartley. They both have a reservation at Casa Cipriani in New York and instead of waiting for another table to open, they decide to share the table that they both had reserved. They decided to get to know one another but leave out a lot of important details and they spend an amazing night together.
Grayson heads back home to Stoney Creek, Tennessee and Hartley goes back to Boston. Then the unexpected happens. Grayson goes to his attorney’s office and turns out his new attorney is Hartley, who is slowly taking over her father’s office.
The two of them sneak around until his divorce is finalized and they can finally come out to the world that they’re together and in love with each other.
I enjoyed the plot and the intense attraction between Grayson and Hartley. I could feel it radiating off the pages. I loved the camaraderie and family dynamics between the characters and how much the town supports each other. I enjoyed the banter between the characters. The spice was extremely hot! There’s a little bit of suspense towards the end of the book, which I enjoyed. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!

They had such a natural and electric chemistry from the beginning and I loved it. They both were protective of each other. Hartley did everything she could to help Gray with his divorce. His ex wife was the worst, Gray definitely deserved better. I adored his vision for Coyote Run and for the family he’s always wanted. This book will make you laugh and fall in love with every character in the book. I can’t wait for the rest of the series.

This book was all about the vibes for me. I loved the initial encounter between Grayson and Hartley which had me invested in them as a couple from the very start. The tension and chemistry was electric with some great spicy scenes - the larger age gap with older MCs was a nice touch. My one gripe is that the ending seemed to quickly go off the rails. However, I do think this was a great start to a series and based on the characters introduced so far, I have high hopes for the rest of the books.

This was my first book by the Fox sisters and book 1 in the Bassett Brothers Bourbon series. This will not be my last book by the sisters as I absolutely loved it.
Grayson and Hartley have the best meet cute and one very hot night together. Grayson finds her gone in the morning and she didn’t leave her number… oh but she did.. he finds it in his wallet
Grayson has a meeting with his divorce attorney, Jim, but do to some health issues, his daughter is gonna help with his case. Lo and behold Hartley walks in.
I loved Hartley because she makes no excuses for who she is… a curvy, smart, no nonsense attorney. I thought Hartley n Gray were so balanced like she balanced his grumpiness, she balanced n put herself in between his fights with Gabe. The Ying to his Yang
I loved all the side characters of Graysons siblings, and his friendship with Hudson. All in all such a great book and look forward to reading more of the Basset Brothers

I loved this story! Gray had all the best southern gentleman vibes that had me swooning, and his dirty talk had me panting 🥵 I enjoyed Hart being a highly educated FMC who felt very relatable. The banter the two of them shared was great and I enjoyed watching their relationship develop amidst the personal and professional challenges they faced.
This is the first full story of the series and I can't wait to see what the rest of the Bassett family gets up to in the next book!
