This is a two-in-one "book" re-issue.
All I Want for Christmas
This was a charming story about twin boys who wish for "THE" mother. Yes, that's correct. They want "THE" mother, not "A" mother. They call her THE mother because they have everything all picked out, plus they want to share her with their father! So they write to Santa for THE mother. And guess what happens? Yep. This short novella was super cute, and I loved the happily ever after! I needed something sweet and relaxing after reading a bunch of violent books in the last few days.
Captivated
Captivated is a short book, not a novella like the first one. It is not a Christmas book or even a holiday book. It is basically about witchcraft and sex. This was as far from the style of the first novella as you can get! It didn't hold my attention like the first book did, and I couldn't find a way to actually like the characters or the storyline in this one.

The first story All I Want for Christmas a novella about to young twin boys Zack and Zeke who want nothing more for Christmas than a Mom for Christmas. Nell a music teacher is the one they have their eye on and as well they have a complete faith and trust in Santa. Mac has no chance! It's a sweet story and a perfect Christmas story.
Captivated is the first book in The Donovan Legacy that Nora Roberts published first back in the '90's. I had read Entranced, Charmed and Enchanted which follow Captivated. But as it turns out I had not read Captivated. Morgana is a witch living in the USA. Her roots are in Ireland and when things turn to custard for her at one point it is to the Donovan Castle that she flees to for comfort.
Nash is a mere mortal, so when he finds himself falling for Morgana he begins to doubt himself. His growing up years have not been loving ones and so he is very new to love. He just doesn't trust it.
But after much soul searching he finds that after all, he really wants Morgana in his life.
In this story we see the beginnings of Nora Roberts later books that entertain we reader fans of her books. There is the magic and the paranormal and characters that we love. There isn't much of a plot in this story other than boy meets girl, they fall in love, hit a rocky patch and then a Happily Ever After!

Two stories from the 90s, both featuring artists.
The first is a short story in which young boys ask Santa to give them "the mom" for Christmas. She turns out to be a new teacher, freshly in town. Their dad doesn't trust his attraction and fears his boys getting attached. We quickly move through the fall, getting moments with the kids and our couple. I really liked this story because a thread running through it is the power of music.
The second is the first book from Roberts' Dovovan Legacy series. I feel like the parents that we see at the end must have had their own series but I can't find any mention of it. The story itself is as much about magic as it is about finding love. Morgana is such a wonderful character. Nash is very much a man of the 90s. The way he casually invades her space didn't endear him to me and even as we found out about his childhood trauma, I couldn't warm to him. I didn't realize this was two books in one. The first book was good. Yet, the ending felt like the author just wanted to be done with the story and just tossed the ending into a few sentences, which was disappointing. I really enjoyed the story until the end. It needed more at least two more chapters to finish the story.
The second book was not my cup of tea at all. I read a couple of pages and then just ended it.
I probably wouldn't recommend this book.

This is a reissue of 2 previous books. The first story (by far the better of the two) is a Christmas story' All I Want for Christmas is about twin boys who find THE mother they want and ask Santa to deliverr her for their dad. So cute and predictable. Vintage Nora. The second, Captivated wasn't a Christmas story and seems a strange addition for the first offering.

Early Nora Roberts. Easy read.
She develops characters you can really get attached to :)

Tbh I don’t remember the first story I only remember the second one and I love it soo 3 stars makes sense I want more witchy reads like this
