literally not in a million years could I have imagined what the plot could be. LITERALLY FUCKING A SKULL ......riiiiiight. It was def cool, like very intense and freak type shit. Like I thought fucking the thigh wounds in the main story was crazy, boy just you wait. I was wondering how the title related. They're plant creatures and the calyx is like the collective little green leaves that protect the flower in bud and then are underneath the petals in bloom. In a couple different ways Echo was wrapping Ender up and protecting him, like with her mind when he lost consciousness or like with the blankets when it was over which reminds me of the bud. And then in bloom, Echo is like the flower and Ender is like the calyx, there to support her and satisfy her wants and needs. I might be looking too much into it but I like thinking of what it could mean.
Quotes: - 'The wet squelch of my lobotomy fills the room.'
She literally fcks the soft spot at the base of his skull and severs his spinal column so he’s a rag doll for her
Talk about a mind f*ck 🧠💥🍆 . .
I absolutely adore how pathetic Ender is for Echo, and how much Echo uses Ender for whatever she wants, yet you can feel the bond between them transcends the definition of love. I love these little freaks
A prequel to In the Garden of Echo, Calyx is a short mindfuck of a story. Echo and Ender are as delightfully non-human as ever, and I love this look into their dynamic.
